582  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: selling my used antminer s2 1 th/s for 2 btc on: August 25, 2014, 06:39:45 PM
This will never ROI at 2 BTC...

at least 90 days at current diff, not counting electricity. not really a good deal. can't find cheap s2 anywhere though
583  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ultra x4 modular psu, wont stay on with ants on: August 25, 2014, 05:14:02 AM
i'll try to hook some fans up to it and see if it works.

this is the exact PSU. I obviously won't be buying anymore, and I wont' be buying anything but server PSUs. I have a bunch of 750w ones running two ands and a couple 500w ones running one ant each. they worked great.
584  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ultra x4 modular psu, wont stay on with ants on: August 25, 2014, 04:44:36 AM
Yes I have about half a dozen server psus running. But I already had these ones and dont want them going to waste
585  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ultra x4 modular psu, wont stay on with ants on: August 25, 2014, 04:43:47 AM
I was using two pcie cables per ant s1...

So just try hooking up 4 cables to 1 ant.

s1 only have two pcie connectors.

to me, it seems like the problem is they just shutoff because of not detecting a mb...

they shutoff before the ant even starts hashing

I was using two pcie cables per ant s1...

they turn off with one or two ants hooked up.

its like they need some additional signal to stay on
587  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ultra x4 modular psu, wont stay on with ants on: August 24, 2014, 05:48:33 PM
sounds to me like OCP protection triggered, because after 30 sec ants actually start to mine.

i need to figure out a solution, i got ants with no psus, had some psu problems overnight
588  Bitcoin / Hardware / ultra x4 modular psu, wont stay on with ants on: August 24, 2014, 05:16:08 PM
so i have two ultra x4 750w modular psus, i was using one with my old gpu rig and one is brand new.

neither of them will stay on only running ants. they power up and stay on for 10-30 seconds. the shut off.

cant turn em back on for a few mins, the it repeats.

they work fine in a PC.

ive googled but cant find a solution... maybe there is something else that needs jumped for it to stay on? maybe it tried to detect a mb??? not sure

have two worthless to me psus i cant run antminers on...

sucks, before miners was bill was usually less than $30
590  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: getting enough power from a normal house electrical system! on: August 24, 2014, 07:32:09 AM
Just wait till your electric bill shows up  Roll Eyes

With 2200 watts for 5 S1's & 3 vid cards my bill was $628-$250(regular bill per month)=$378.With BTC @ $425,just wasn't worth it............   Sad

im paying 0.06 last month bill was $300 and i was running ac almost all day everyday
591  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: getting enough power from a normal house electrical system! on: August 24, 2014, 06:29:34 AM
two 50amp 220v main breakers, with the correct 50amp cables running to basement, two l6-30r plugs with 30amp pdus.

the pdus are about 3/4 their capacity each. shouldnt be stressing the 50amp 220v circuits.

this is basically like im running my furnace 24/7
592  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: getting enough power from a normal house electrical system! on: August 24, 2014, 06:18:57 AM
still seems to be working fine, i did hear a loud clicking noise when i was asleep that woke me up, still half asleep and dark house thought breaker went or something but must've been dreaming lol...

i have 25 ants running down there..... getting pretty warm in the basement... ive seen one ant hit 58c

593  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S3 upgrade kit???? on: August 22, 2014, 10:22:45 PM
I have a couple s1s that have "problems" might be worth upgrading those ones...
594  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S3 upgrade kit???? on: August 22, 2014, 10:19:51 PM
The upgrade kit is only good if it can deliver immediately or soon. 1 month is really too long. Better to just buy S3..

S3 is now overpriced because of the 1 month delay. Better to buy some S1s secondhand from somebody who has expensive power rates and undervolt them (of course this is for people with cheap power as nobody can run them profitably at stock in about 4 days).

its been over 4 days, my s1 and normal 180ghash is still making money.

595  Bitcoin / Hardware / antminer s1 overheating temp on: August 22, 2014, 08:43:10 PM
I've looked around a lot, can't seem to find anything about what is considered overheating for a antminer s1?

everything seems to be working fine, staying relatively cool.

power cables coming from the 220v are all cool to the touch. doesn't seem to be stressing it. PDUs are cool

Has anyone received the upgrade kit?  Bitmain promised shipping on the 20 of Aug or earlier, but so far it is 'unshipped'

Cheers

afaik it says Sept 20 or earlier
