581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Arkblock- not accepting US residents, where to get tokens? on: January 20, 2018, 05:55:36 PM
Does anyone know why there are project of do not accept US residents?

It must be something related to their laws because the banned countries from ICOs are usually the same. The good thing is that bounties are not included in the ban.
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Tether wallet? on: January 20, 2018, 04:48:46 PM
I know that USDT is an omni token so It can be stored in any bitcoin address that you control it private keys but how about spending? Is there is any alternative to omniwallet.org?
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Arkblock- not accepting US residents, where to get tokens? on: January 19, 2018, 11:07:20 AM
If they ask you to send an ID and selfie then there is no way around this. You can either wait for it to be listed on exchanges or participate in their bounty program (If they any).
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to buy/Where to store? on: January 18, 2018, 06:19:02 PM
Ignore the advice above for 'storing'. If you want to buy altcoins yes, you can use Binance, Bittrex, Poloniex and many others but for storing, there is nothing better then having control over your private keys. You will not find a wallet that support every coin out there, you will have to download the official wallet of each of these coins. You can still check Coinomi too, It's a multi coin wallet.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What happened to Bitconnect? on: January 18, 2018, 02:04:34 PM
I didn't invest anything there due to accusations about it being a ponzi scheme but I checked the price today after seeing someone talking about it on SegWit2x thread and It literally got destroyed, so what happened here?
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚛️ [ANN] Bitcoin Atom - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Atomic Swap Powered ⚛️ on: January 18, 2018, 09:59:21 AM
Atomic swaps are supposed to use the Lightning network If I'm not wrong and It's in test phase and shouldn't be deployed yet. So unless you was working on this alone, how come did you achieve this alone?
587  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Wallet on: January 18, 2018, 08:31:24 AM
You have multi-coin wallets such as Exodus, Jaxx and Coinomi that have built-in exchanges using Shapeshift or Changelly API. I must warn you though, these wallets are not open source and even though nothing big has been reported so far, you should take caution.
588  Local / إستفسارات و أسئلة المبتدئين / Re: الشراء من ال ICOs on: January 17, 2018, 05:42:34 PM
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinomi and BCD on: January 17, 2018, 02:05:43 PM
Coinomi tweeted (3 weeks ago) that they are working on something to allow users to claim free airdrops and legit forks so It shouldn't take long until It's available. You can also claim using this solution. I haven't tried it but Bither is a known wallet. Just make sure to send your bitcoin somewhere else before importing the private keys.
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the Best ICO for Bitcoin Alternative Cryptocurrencies this Year? on: January 16, 2018, 01:39:06 PM
It's only considered as an alternative for bitcoin If It does the same thing and this doesn't apply for new ICOs as most of them are for advertising, gaming, Healthcare etc. and in this case, I suggest reading Inc article. I don't necessarily agree with them but some of the projects looks promising.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any possibility of building smart contracts using bitcoin? on: January 16, 2018, 01:07:50 PM
Lightning network, Atomic swaps and RSK.co are all things based on smart contracts so yeah, once these things are deployed, I honestly see no use for Ethereum.
592  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: January 14, 2018, 03:25:22 PM
What member ranking is needed to embed pictures into a post?

Thanks

Junior member (30 activity). If you don't have any potential activity right now, you should be able to post images as of 16th January as soon as the activity reset happens.
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Diamond on: January 13, 2018, 08:28:01 PM
So I was checking it on coinmarketcap and I've seen that the price is so high for some reason in Korean exchanges, anyone managed to register there and make some profit? It's excluded on CMC but you should still be able to see the prices.
594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] COBINHOOD - ZERO Trading Fee Cryptocurrency Exchange on: January 12, 2018, 11:03:24 AM
If the exchange is stable and there is an API, how come It's not added to CoinMarketCap yet? also is there is any chance that coins except the ones from the ICOs they advertise will be added?
595  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org on: January 12, 2018, 09:59:32 AM
The first forum was a SourceForge forum and then It got replaced by Simple machines software by Satoshi (creator of bitcoin) and Sirius who was just someone interested in bitcoin.
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum and tokens on: January 09, 2018, 02:29:29 PM
1. If you're running through the Ledger nano S then no, you don't need any JSON files.
2. They are built inside Ethereum blockchain (ERC20 tokens) just like Tether is built inside Bitcoin blockchain (Omni tokens) - If Modum is an ERC20 token then yes, It uses the same blockchain.
3. See answer above.

597  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitrefill to buy from Steam on: January 09, 2018, 01:31:58 PM
If you don't already know, Steam stopped supporting BTC due to high fees and price volatility. Bitrefill (used to top up phone) is now letting you buy from Steam by selling vouchers using both BTC and LTC.
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⚛️ [ANN] Bitcoin Atom - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Atomic Swap Powered ⚛️ on: January 09, 2018, 01:11:32 PM
Any date set for the hardfork? also, If you want from wallets such as Trezor to support you, you should make sure you're open source and I suggest contacting HitBtc because they are known for supporting forks.
599  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-08] Binance, Bitfinex, Bittrex Temporarily Say No to New Users on: January 09, 2018, 07:38:22 AM
It explains why I suddenly started to see threads in the digital goods section where people are selling these exchanges accounts for 50$. This should be a good reason to support P2P decentralized exchange and LN/Atomic swaps development.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Redeeming Casascius Coin Help on: January 08, 2018, 06:09:49 PM
Thanks. Still swipe the BTC into Electrum first or is it safe to redeem BTC, BCH and BCG into a single coinomi wallet?

I wouldn't trust them for my bitcoins even If no losses has been reported yet. It's not open source so It shouldn't be trusted that much. I suggest sending BTCs to Electrum first.
