581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Getting rid of scam bounties on: July 24, 2018, 05:33:00 PM
So, obviously there is a lot of bounties out there that are not that great, some of them are really good, but some of them just scams.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4419196.0

I just found this project, and it has some things that worry me.
First bad sign was a "guaranteed prize pool of 700k USD for bounty participants".  No project can realistically guarantee a prize pool that big.
Started to dig a little further and took a look at their reddit presence https://www.reddit.com/user/1apayment/ (basically non-existent)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIJMXVm3bqn5SK9PvGXxqkQ - Youtube channel is very primary.
After taking a look at their team, it pretty much closed the deal for me.  I can't prove beyond a doubt that it is a scam, but everything adds up.  I'm not saying that I've proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is a scam, but I want to open a conversation to see what people think about this, and to see what kind be done about this kind of thing.

Anyways, I am wondering if there is a better place I could have posted this, or how else to deal with this.  In my opinion it is important to keep the message boards clean, and to get rid of projects that don't deserve attention.  Is there a system in place to deal with this sort of thing?  If so, what is it, and can low reputation individuals such as myself contribute?

We do have so many ICOs / bounties with projects that really are really fake and attract the participants too much. Everyone must be aware of C project which really made us fool. Though many made us aware of the scam, we really did continue supporting the team. At last the game was over and finally everyone was cheated and the manager who acted as manager ran out with money. So be careful. We have many best bounty managers and can join in any of the projects they choose. Needmony, HUA_HUI are legit in choosing the right projects.
582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ups and downs of world becoming more aware of bitcoin? on: July 24, 2018, 04:57:45 PM
News do impact growth of crypto currencies. Bad news on bitcoin cause investors either wait or skip investing into crypto currencies. We do see lots of investors get into crypto as profits are certained on one or the other day. Crypto currencies legit projects are promising and attract more unvestors do fall in it. I have so many sharing sharing good deeds earning more bitcoins and other crypto currencies.
583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price goes 8000 above :) on: July 24, 2018, 03:50:39 PM
Good start and a big hike in last 7 months. Now i see a stagnant value between $7900 to $8200. This is really good for continues growth. If the same rally remain for 48 hours then yes, there is going to be huge hike then reaching $9k in 3 days. SEC result should be another cause for a huge hike to $10K to $12K. Just remember the days with prediction reaching minimum $8K to $9k and yes we do see the price now. We can expect last December's growth by October if this trend continues.
584  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cryptocurrency is Great, But How Many Persons Know That? on: July 24, 2018, 02:47:56 PM
Weis aims to provide social media and digital marketing services to provide more awareness of cryptocurrencies and how we will reform a user friendly platform to filter the huge amount of information available to those entering the crypto market and to those already operating within it.

Ethereum smart contract technology will be used to provide a streaming media platform designed to put new and emerging talent shoulder to shoulder with established artists and household names, and in turn bringing more users and awareness to crypto.

However, there are so many more cool reasons why the project will thrive, especially the token.

You can check their whitepaper very carefully under the token section to understand what I am talking about.

To read up more about their project, please check their website here - https://weishub.com/
You can also quickly scan through their ANN thread here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3495546.msg36235747#msg36235747
Or join them on telegram to follow up on project updates - https://t.me/weishub

Growth in number of investors assures that crypto currencies are doing really great. Number of countries who started looking at options availabe to adapt bitcoin and blockchain technology have really increased. Crypto currencies contracts are really playing an important role in reaching out every corner. This makes sure and promises to invest more into crypto currencies especially into a promising coins with beat projects including bitcoin. News do update us everyday on it. News.bitcoin.com, coindesk, cointelegraph are good news sites to look at.
585  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long will this bull run be? on: July 24, 2018, 02:39:01 PM
It seems likely that this recent third bottom of 2018 was the final bottoming out. Don't think price is gonna start going crazy or anything now, though it might go crazy until the ETF verdict, but generally I think we're right at the start of a new bull market.

The last bull market lasted about 2.5 years from mid-2015 to end of 2017. How long do you think this one will be?

I could see it lasting until late 2019 or maybe even late 2020 past the next halving. I think we'll see or get close to $100k on the peak of the next bull run in less than 30 months. I think institutional investors and traditional retail investors (like through ETFs) will drive this bull run, with of course another round of serious FOMO from the public eventually just like late last year.

Now is the time to get in if you're smart money, whether hodling or trading.

This bull run will only last up to the verdict by the SEC - approval or denial. So if the SEC approves it then we might see the bull run sustain it runs. FOMO will pump fresh money again but its really hard to say what will be the price or how long this bull run (if ever) will go. However, a reversal might be in the horizon when a denial is issued again by SEC.

Hope there will be a good news from SEC and this would ba a reason behind current spike. Bringing legislation to crypto in its countru is an another positive news on standardizing crypto moment in its country. So a good news can be heard soon. I am sire this spike will continue and we can see $9k crossing earlier next month. The noal track is back.
586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Up and Down Movement on: July 24, 2018, 02:09:45 PM
The thread was created in June, but yes now its on up trend. Yes last few days have been in green though there were slight downs in between. We have almost $1.5K growth in few days. Lets take this as a back-on-track moment. Hope this moment continues not lacking back to $7k again. Coinbase current move is another reason behind current spike. Hope July ends with $10K and investors do experience a good turn over after 7 months.
587  Economy / Economics / Re: Politicians fear cryptocurrency because it will stop corruption. on: July 24, 2018, 01:28:58 PM
Crypto is another source for politicians and big business men for money laundering and corruption. But all politicians may not be aware of it besides the educated and the politicians who have support of educated advisors. Besides their own fiats all other currencies including crypto currencies can be used for illegal acts and corruptions. But this is really good for crypto's growth as all stagnant money is circulated and crypto currencies get chances of manipulating it.
588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we finally see some good movement in price for Bitcoin on: July 24, 2018, 01:18:26 PM
Quote
Believe this is just the beginning, on this I mean that there will be opportunities to make some small purchases, here and there, in the hopes price will continue to raise past the USD 20k level.

What is your opinion on this?

Thats funny but its the truth. Many times people go FOMO and thus out of that fear they start to buy bitcoin all the time and until they see rise in the BTC. There huge % of such people who think that they missed the bitcoin and thus buy at whatever price bitcoin has gained little stability. With more rise in value they think they made right decision and sometimes go for more purchases. I guess its good thing really, as it will keep pushing the market ahead. With the current spikes I guess bitcoin has made it clear that its not gonna stop so soon. Who knows, we will too see bitcoin crossing the value of 10K USD.

Its so but need to wait for a day and see if the $8k is maintained. At times its like a bubble and disappoints everyone. But hope this is back on track and is a good sign to move forward. Last few days have been so green and should continue following 10k touch soon. American government and coinbase would be another reason  behind current growth in bitcoin. We do see growth un altcoins as well. So its a healthy moment for sure.
589  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do people have to pay taxes on Bitcoin? on: July 24, 2018, 01:06:40 PM
Pay as long as your respective country has accepted bitcoin and has created doors to earn bitcoin on its expense. If bitcoin is not accepted in your country then you can obviously think about paying tax to the goverment. Its not necessary to pay when bitcoin is not accepted. Few countries do have rules in tax. Abiding would not disturbe you earning bitcoin further. So think on it.
590  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India and Bitcoins on: July 24, 2018, 12:48:01 PM
In India, Bitcoin is not a legal tender. But it is not explicitly termed as illegal. What is the reason for such a stand by Government? what are its implications?

There should be a good change in the coming months after the last hearing in supreme court. Bitcoin may be cobsidered as a commodity in future in India. This qould be most welcimed where instead of prohibiting, accepting bitcoin to be an asset. This could develope the nation as well as will not intrupt banking system.
591  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction For 2018 To 2020 on: July 23, 2018, 05:27:50 PM
Between 2018 and 2020, the price of BTC is likely to increase slowly, the price of altcoin will gradually decline, and the market funds will gradually flow to BTC.

Minimum $35k is expected in 2018 and if this is acheieved then yes We can expect minimum $60K in 2020. 2018's first half has been not too worst but was  stagnant between $6K to $6.7k for almost few months. We do see a recovery now from $6k rally to $7k. If current growth trend continues we can expect minimum hit of $35k this year and can expect $40K to $45K next year and obviously $60k can be expected. Lets just watch what happens.
592  Economy / Economics / Re: Does engaging with bitcoins put you at risk? on: July 23, 2018, 05:11:24 PM
Not yet as of now and i dont think i would ever have sich moments. I earn and have taught many what is crypto and how to earn this. The issue will only araise from the government if any but my country has not yet even accepted or denied butcoin. But soon this may accept bitcoin or make this as commodity, hence a good news can be expected. So no issues here as of now. Hope this should not happen as well.
593  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: JAXX WARNING! All of the ETC's stolen! on: July 20, 2018, 04:17:23 PM
During my investigation I discovered that everything actually started nowhere other than on the Ubisoft server which is under severe Ddos attack these days. I remember that a few days before my coins were stolen, I received a message from Ubisoft account in which I was informed that I have been successfuly logged on (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), but I haven't used that account for years, actually I have completely forgotten to have it opened. So the e-mail address was enough for the spiral to escalate. So, From the e-mail address they found on Ubisoft account, shitty thiefs were able to crack both Cryptopia and Hitbitc! (I have moved everything from there long time ago), then a simple ETC address on which some of coins were transfered was enough for miserable non existent JAXX security to be cracked. So, no more ubisoft, cryptopia, hitbtc and jaxx for me....I hope this experience might help others.
Honestly, this sounds like the OP has used the same login/password details on multiple sites... and those details have ended up in some of the massive password dumps that have been released (ie. the ones that "have I been pwned?" scans)

Using different passwords on each site... and 2FA (which I know Cryptopia offers) would negate a lot of these issues.

As for how the ETC disappeared... either the OP has a compromised machine and the well known Jaxx vulnerability has been exploited after his wallet files were transferred off the machine, or they did something to compromise the security of their wallet (uploaded a copy to online storage or saved a copy of their seed online etc).

Given the long list of sites that their accounts have been compromised on, I'd guess they stored a wallet backup or unencrypted copy of their seed on something like dropbox or email etc... and that account was also compromised.

Hopefully via browser password details he lost the funds on the jaxx wallet. I am also using the Jaxx wallet in my Android mobile but I did not find any loose and hacking problem so far in the wallets. Please keep the seed at the good place where no can to access towards it.

Then there are many ways to keep the wallet secured. You can enable pin for making transaction and then you can go with the Google authenticator also to have the security concerns for it.

Right. Depends on how secured the wallets are kept. Activate google 2FA authendication, Pin for transactions, store the key words written and stored in a secured place and do not store where public view is possible. More over get into the correct URL. Make sure your URL begins with https//:

Activate all the options provided by the respected wallet.

600  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recovery? on: July 10, 2018, 01:52:48 PM
Bitcoin recovery is mostly at the second part of the year after it has been bearish for several months. This year is going to see the same change and I believe bitcoin is going to recover to the price it was in last year christmas soon.

The second half can be expected for turn overs. Just checked out current rate of bitcoin and it's really pathetic again. We have around -5% growth seen today. It's understood that it's nature. But would expect a good growth as everyone has invested in it believing a huge return this year.  Hope we do see 10% positive growth of bitcoin and other altcoins tomorrow. Just should be a kick start month as like last year.
