581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: could anybody measure undervolted 290/x/390/x power draw on: April 20, 2017, 06:41:32 PM
I wonder if someone can measure the power draw of a dingle R9 290, 290x, 390,390x  while running at 947/1250 @1.040mV while mining Zec and Eth(vs power draw at stock voltages and clocks, as 290x/290/390)

I have a pc with 390 and 295x2 on it, 850w gold psu. 947/1250 @1.04 mining zec is 640w at the wall, after completely removing 295x2 240w from the wall so 295x2 with those settings pulls about 400w.

With default settings 860w at the wall  Shocked

Hawaii doesn't need 1.04V for 947, most efficient settings are normally volts below 1.0 and then find that highest stable core. Zec and xmr need some bios modding but eth is not memory limited so not much to do there.

Strix 390 normally has quite high default voltage so AB -100mV is still too high. Trixx can do -200mV.

you say the 390 uses 240w undervolted-underclocked before or after substracting the idle power usage

240w is that whole computer. I will post numbers without 390 later.

edit: Ok, had to do it hard way.

With integrated gpu only system idles at 40w.
Add 390 947/1250 1.04 zec and system pulls 240w from the wall so 390 adds 200w.

Usually I test with separate psu which powers only the riser and pcie connectors of that gpu, that way you don't have to guess how much gpu uses when idling.

anyone got those better faster and free to use to download miners, without fees,?

https://github.com/djm34/ccminer-msvc2015/releases

isn't that only 16 mega per 1070?

I haven't tried it actually. How much is pallas doing? Again, buying was much more profitable, 800 satoshi would be 100x...

Pretty average result with fast coin and about 1/1000 of network + good setup. That is how it has always been and still is today.

586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum solo mininig on: April 19, 2017, 10:56:25 AM
Why don't you guys try it yourselves with ETC, nethash is 1T vs 20T?
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [SERIOUS QUESTION] How is mining Zcash profitable long term? on: April 17, 2017, 11:33:52 PM
Someone is buying about every mined zec. Miners do not have problem with that. Yet.

More fun , gpu0=7970 from 2014 2012 not even close to be optimized:

Which drivers are you using for r9 390? I am using Crimson 15.12 Win8.1 but miner dont show me temp, however is mining just fine.

16.11.5 & W10

Undervolted & overclocked 390 again power limited:

2-3 weeks are not that much in crypto, your gpu will mine for months, the difference is that with trading you have a big risk of losing if the coin is dumped, with gpu you never lose anything, in fact i never lost anything by mining

Yep, it is all about fear/ greed. The real difference is that everyone can mine, in the end miner finds him/herself thinking why everyone else made more money than the one who made most of the work. That is how life works ))

not easy to find specific used 1080 like palit SJS...

I would be happy with any 1080 that has more than 2 years warranty left to local dealer. Must resist, must resist...

592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: April 17, 2017, 01:12:51 PM

And if you yesterday bought lbry instead of 1080ti you would have made 7.6% x $800=$60.80. No electricity costs, no fighting with hardware...

yeah but your gpu isn't worth zero you know, you still have the value of that plus $6 each day

No it isn't but it is worth 10% less than yesterday so actually -$80 + $6 first day earnings, first 2-3 weeks just covering losses. LBC nethash is going to catch soon so there are not so many $6 days left.

Two used 1070/1080 would be better business.

1080ti single card  $6.26 per day

594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Custom RAM Timings for GPU's with GDDR5 - DOWNLOAD LINKS - UPDATED on: April 15, 2017, 06:07:12 PM
Yeah I just played around with different numbers using the fools tool and figured it out heh. Already did my testing.

Did you try equihash or cryptonight? I have seen much bigger gains there with hawaii. Also memory clocks higher than 1250 give no more speed @dagger without REALLY high core oc. I never tried if really tight timings@1250 would give more eth speed.

Thanks for those bfr straps, going to try them later.

edit: Your nerdified stock 1250MHz bfr timings copied to 1500 made it, now those bfr cards I have been fighting with are doing closer what they should on equihash, +12%.

edit2: Thanks for that link, I have read it thousand times before but still couldn't see it before you linked it to me.
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is bitmain selling its new gear at crazy low prices? on: April 13, 2017, 08:14:55 PM
I like tinfoil, hats are great but much better use is to block that sunlight, sprayed water does the thing. You ready?

This asic 'giveaway' is just one small part of this hole ponzi-like btc&ltc pump that started somewhere in summer of 2016 )).
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Got a GEFORCE GTX 1070 ARMOR 8G OC From MSI in RMA on: April 13, 2017, 06:45:05 PM
...I am switching to 1070's
Why are you making a switch to 1070's? With the 500 series coming out 400 stock should start to drop in price or is it due to more power and limited pci express lanes.

If you are after zec 1070 is the way to go. If that 'invisible hand' somehow disappears you might end up with gpu which mines well but costs too much.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Got a GEFORCE GTX 1070 ARMOR 8G OC From MSI in RMA on: April 13, 2017, 03:41:59 PM
Sell it and buy 470. Instant ROI.

Sell it and buy 2x470 if you have free slots.
598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: April 13, 2017, 02:34:06 PM
RMA experience with EVGA, international 3 years warranty: WOW! :-)
The online procedure is simple and well organised. Just needs the serial number. They sent a new card back, after only a week, and it was even a better model! It hashes faster and I have a spare box and some extra caps LoL :-D

Did you buy it from evga or some local dealer?

I have good experiences about evga-eu, rma takes about one week, you don't loose warranty (3 years) if you change custom cooler and sometimes they have good b-stock deals (1 year warranty).
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can we get temperature to 70 C with automatic fan speed? on: April 12, 2017, 07:42:53 PM
AB settings - fan - enable user defined software automatic fan control?

Make a custom curve that fits your needs.
600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.0 (Windows/Linux) on: April 12, 2017, 07:27:14 PM
Is there any reason to upgrade to 9.0 if you've got old GPUs? (280/290 etc)

Huge DCR performance boost on 290 when dual mining, you might be power limited though.

I've got a 5 GPU R9 290 Ref rig.. when I use dual mining with DCR.. my Eth mining goes from 31MHS to 24MHS... I've tried a lot of different -dcri settings.  Do you mind sharing your bat file?  Thanks!

Nothing special in my bat really, most likely your cards are throttling. Have you tried really low dcri? Monitor your core clocks when mining, are they steady at those clocks you set?

If not you need to do something to get power usage down.
