581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That moment when you buy 1BTC at $2500 on: October 02, 2017, 05:28:24 PM
By now the exchange rate is at $4400.
I don't know if you kept your coin, if so congratulations!
Risks can make your very rich or indigent, that is why you should not invest all your money.

Didn't receive the tokens from the pre-sale.
I have sent you an email a couple of days ago about this issue and still no answer.
I don't like to post problems on a public thread but if I don't get answer on email I have to do it this way.

Of course, even negative attention is attention.
If the news turns out to be false and the opposite happens, people that read the negative news will interpret it as positive on the end.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins with biggest potential in the next 2 years on: October 01, 2017, 01:41:00 PM
Don't forget Monero and Litecoin.
I think these have the most potential including Ethereum and Waves.

587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I stll don't know what to do with my Bitcoins... on: September 30, 2017, 02:59:52 PM
Not really, I keep my Bitcoin as an investment.
And whenever I feel like I want to spend Bitcoin, I order something online or go eat something in my city where most restaurants and shops accept Bitcoin.
This is a nice to know atleast there is some shops accepted bitcoin. Long term investment in bitcoin is also a good idea, and whenever you need some cash you can convert it into fiat. So in this situation if you dont know what to do it is better to invest still and wait to grow your investment.
Yes, it is becoming a thing here. At the moment 118 shops/services accept Bitcoin in my city. It also get stimulated because of discounts they give when you pay with Bitcoin. I hope it will come to a point that we don't even have to convert Bitcoin to cash, that we can pay everywhere with Bitcoin.
588  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Re: Welke altfolio app gebruiken jullie ? on: September 30, 2017, 02:44:54 PM

591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: RIPPLE PRICE on: September 30, 2017, 02:09:46 PM
ON 17TH MAY RIPPLE WAS AT 24000 SATOSHI
CAN IT HIT 20000 SATOSHI ON 18 TH OCTOBER

Asking in CAPS doesn't make it happen. The price will go up with the event, however nobody can say how much it will be worth. Just watch the price closely as the event is coming.

And what is this event that you speak of? I haven't been following Ripple until a couple of days ago. Is there information on their website about this even or in a Slack channel? Thanks in advance!

here you go https://ripple.com/insights/news/announcing-swell-by-ripple/
Thanks for letting us know.
I bought some Ripple in case of a rise in price.
I don't like the concept of Ripple, being centralized however a quick buck is never bad.
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Iridium - People are Power - PoW - Community Built - Low Supply on: September 29, 2017, 09:18:07 PM
I like the name of the coin.
But what are the differences with Monero besides the fixed supply?

Monero is governed by a centralized team of devs, Iridium is built by the community and will adapt to whatever they wish it to be.
That's a good thing, every coin should have that aspect.
But how is this maintained?
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feeling the BTC bubble, diversification Qs... on: September 29, 2017, 09:13:01 PM
I have the most trust in Bitcoin, it seems the most stable and best known.
I suggest keeping at least 3/4 Bitcoin and the rest in stable alt coins (XMR, LTC, ETC, ETH).

595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What impresses you the most about Bitcoin? on: September 24, 2017, 12:28:17 PM
The blockchain technology is really fascinating and interesting.
It could be widely used for other services besides money transactions.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much closer is Bitcoin to being mainstream? on: September 24, 2017, 12:25:13 PM
Bitcoin is already mainstream. Big media platforms are writing articles about it. Also when you look the unconfirmed transactions, the amount increases every second. It passed PayPal's marketcap a couple of weeks ago. PayPal is quite mainstream, even my mother knows it.

Nah... Bitcoin has become more widely known and people are just starting to realize that there might be something to it, that's true. But it's still quite far from mainstream, albeit we're slowly getting there.

Knowing about something and using it are two very different things. A lot of people knew about cars, computers and the internet before the general populace started using them.

PayPal's market cap is a useless metric in this regard, unfortunately. It will be mainstream once the userbase is the size of PayPal.

It depends on how you define mainstream. I mean you and I consider it as normal, for doing payments. But how much people need to consider it as 'normal' to be mainstream?
In my country iDEAL is widely, it's considered mainstream here. But if I would ask about it in the United States, almost nobody would know it nor use it to make payments.
And you can't really compare Bitcoin's user base to that of an one account per user service. I think it's better to compare the amount of transactions per second to that of PayPal.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC to $100, when? on: September 24, 2017, 12:05:23 PM
It has some potential, but it's not widely implemented.
If it will get implemented more, ETC's price will rise.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNBC: Why JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon is wrong about Bitcoin on: September 24, 2017, 11:57:07 AM
Banks are always wrong. They report negative about Bitcoin just to get control back over the cash flow.
