581  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB 10 BTC in 6 months time on: September 23, 2014, 03:35:15 PM
So BTC would have to be worth $2855+ for this to be a good move for me...
582  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB 10 BTC in 6 months time on: September 23, 2014, 03:22:18 PM
Let's say strike of $450.

I don't mind if I can exercise at any time or only at expiration.
583  Economy / Currency exchange / WTB 5 BTC in 6 months time on: September 23, 2014, 02:03:23 PM
I'm looking for someone trusted on here (or someone willing to use escrow) to offer me the option to buy 10 5 BTC in 6 months time.

I would like to lock in a price now. There would be a fee payable by me for this service. All can be negotiated.

If there is no interest, any suggestions on how to achieve this through other means would be appreciated.

584  Economy / Economics / Re: World population growth on: September 23, 2014, 01:30:11 PM

Therefore a 60,000,000 increase in global population

And its mathematically impossible for each of those individuals to ever own a full bitcoin.

What's wrong with that? It's also impossible for them to have, say, a ton of gold.
It's quite possible OP was suggesting this was a good thing...

... for the price of BTC at least!
585  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammer electricmarbles beware on: September 23, 2014, 01:20:52 PM
Bad luck.

It might help others if you post messages received by the scammer so we can see how he operates.
586  Other / Meta / Re: There should be a public list of sold/bought accounts on: September 23, 2014, 01:19:56 PM
Yep, it would be extremely difficult to maintain a list accurately.

People selling accounts is impossible to prevent, which is probably why there is no rule against it.
587  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can I buy Bitcoin via a Credit Card or Paypal? on: September 23, 2014, 01:13:27 PM
https://bittylicious.com/

Now offers credit/debit card purchases in Euros. May be useful.
588  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] TITAN ONE GOLD on: September 23, 2014, 01:09:04 PM
I've never really liked the look of any coins other than Casascius and Lealana, but this one is really nice  Grin
589  Other / Off-topic / Re: Search for a good VPN on: September 23, 2014, 01:06:22 PM
I highly recommend Mullvad - they accept BTC and allow you to use on multiple computers simultaneously.

I once sent them far too much by mistake and they refunded me without any problems.

590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pirate@40 fined $40 million dollars on: September 20, 2014, 02:23:44 PM
Glad to finally see some justice, even if it is mostly ineffectual.

Even is he somehow paid the $40 million, would the SEC even try to distribute to victims.

It's a fine rather than an order to pay people back.

Any news on a fix for the Windows 7 compatability problem?
592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 09, 2014, 12:07:53 PM
How does anyone buy this story? These types of screenshots are so easily faked. The picture is not of something with complicated blending of colors and shapes. It's all text, basic unison colors, and simple lines. A quick crop job of the "hacker's" email with his own made up text is enough to make that screenshot.

For someone that has tried so hard to remain anonymous, do you really think Satoshi would use such important email account to place orders that can be used to trace back to him?
That order is obviously a red herring, but it is clear his account has been hacked.

It seems that he wasn't stupid enough to leaves any breadcrumbs otherwise this would have played out differently.
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Shouldn't We Put a Bounty on satoshin@gmx.com Hacker? on: September 09, 2014, 10:55:17 AM
Why shouldn't we start a fund raiser to collect 50 BTC and offer it as bounty to whoever tracks and shoots this hacker?
Because that would be immoral, disproportionate and counter-productive.  Roll Eyes
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshin@gmx.com is compromised on: September 09, 2014, 09:48:50 AM
If this hacker could possibly have found any of Satoshi's private keys then we would have seen the coins being moved to new addresses pretty quickly. Either by the hacker or Satoshi to ensure they have sole ownership.

Interesting stuff - could pave the way to Satoshi making a legitimate reappearance Smiley

Was really happy to have my Trezor arrive yesterday, sadly I've not been able to get it to work.
I've installed the browser plugin, plugged it into a USB port and get the positive confirmation noise. I then go to MyTrezor.com and it says:
"Device could not be opened. Make sure you don't have myTREZOR running in another tab or browser window!".
I have tried Chrome, Firefox and IE and also reinstalling the browser plugin. I've temporarily disabled any malware/anti virus that could be interfering. Nothing has helped. I'm on Windows 7.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Support say they have had other people with the same issue and are looking into it.

This problem is known, and as far as I know it is specific to Win 7 only, contact the Trezor support please

Isn't this the USB cable problem again? Can you try different USB cable?

Thanks for the suggestion - just tried this with the same results.

Support are on the case, but as always with a new toy I am keen to get it working asap Cheesy
Try different USB ports.

I have tried this.

Are you 100% sure you don't have another window open somewhere on your computer where you've already logged into myTrezor.com?  That is what happened to me when I got that message, I'm embarrassed to say.  Perhaps it's minimized or off-screen?

Yep, I've tried multiple times, some straight after turning on the computer.

Are you using Win7? If so do you have access to another computer that is not Win7 (friend, family, neighbor, school, work, etc.)?  Try that if possible until they get it fixed.
Yep, using Win 7.

I will try another operating system when I get the chance as this should at least confirm the problem and show that the hardware itself isn't faulty.
I have run a virtual instance of Windows XP and the trezor has connected fine. So it is safe to assume this is a problem with Windows 7 compatibility.

I'm glad I don't have to send the hardware back, but frustrated because the reason I bought the Trezor was to be able to use it securely on any computer.

Let's hope a fix can be found soon  Smiley
