581  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you trade at multiple exchanges? on: May 29, 2017, 08:49:39 AM
Most of the time there difference of price exists so do you withdraw bitcoins from one exchange and sell at higher rate exchange?

Arbitrage nowadays is really hard to do with bitcoin market.
The spread are really really closed ..
But you can do arbitrage with altcoin ...
Some altcoin give you enough margin to bring home a good gain!
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [HELP] Modding RX 570 Sapphire Nitro+ on: May 29, 2017, 08:43:33 AM
I have those and the bios can definitely be modded.  Try the 1750 strap with clocks of 1140/2050.  That's a pretty quick way to get you up to about 28.

are you testing your modded bios with silent switch selected or you are trying on the main bios???
i have a rx 470 but seems who modifying the silent bios and using it, the setting are missed!!!
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Poloniex Boom, which coin next? on: May 29, 2017, 08:34:54 AM
Coins listed on Poloniex have been going through the most outrages price increases. I recently sold dgb and put a position in syscoin, I think syscoin is a good candidate to be the next coin pumped over $100 million.

Which Poloniex traded coin below $100 million in marketcap will pass this figure next ?

Other options is NXT, Lisk, Storjcoin X ?

take a look to stratis and waves too...
i start to read a lot of with paper ICO's who put black over White, who they will migrate to waves Platform when it will be more mature...
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [HELP] Need suggestions for few things on: May 29, 2017, 08:31:32 AM
So, I'm planning to set up my stuff like wallets and similar things on a single Linux machine that will serve just for that. I need your advice on which wallets to use... Are there wallets that can support multiple currencies? What wallet to use for BitCoin? I've been browsing for some time now, looking at the wallets but I can't find a wallet thats in the middle. Some of them have less security but more privacy, some have less privacy but more security... can't really find something in between.

All suggestions are welcome, Thanks!

how already noted, this is the wrong section and this question is OT here...
however, you can give a try to jaxx wallet

works fine for me.
585  Economy / Economics / Re: BITCOIN HALVING? on: May 27, 2017, 08:16:38 PM

586  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: UNDER clock Antminer S9 on: May 27, 2017, 08:12:16 PM
never done by myself...
but i think you can do what you need just updating  the MicroSD firmware.
take a look here:
https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720161126080548570Q2tDBXAH065D
you can use firmware to go at 550, 600 or 650 Mhz.
I'm sure if you run at 550 mhz, it will cool down and it will be quieter
587  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Proper Cooling for the S9 on: May 27, 2017, 08:07:06 PM
So, as a typical idiot that wanted to get and understand the mining business, I just researched a few, invested and figured I would learn things along the way which make things always interesting. So, my Antminer S9 14Ths arrives on monday, my plan was to put it on an empty spare room at home. But I keep hearing the complaints about

1) Sound, if it's closed it will still be too loud? If yes, I'm assuming people have tried methods of soundproofing?

2) Cooling it. I have no working AC on it, so now I'm struggling on how to properly cooling without bursting in flames or drown in oil. I'm open to any suggestions, I would really prefer if I could keep it in the room since I live in an apartment, and no garage, etc... When people talk about mineral oil etc, I have no idea what they're doing to be honest, I'm still researching about that but seems to be the most common way of cooling so far, looking for something that is simple even if it may not be the most profitable.

Thanks a lot for the time.

589  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Internet consumption of a miner on: May 26, 2017, 11:15:41 AM
I am planning on getting a bunch of S9´s.

I need to buy some contract for a Internet, and so I wondered, if someone could tell me how much a Antminer S9 (14TH) needs per month. (in GB)

Thanks in advance.

the traffic generated for mining is really irrelevant.
Don't care about it
i think you will do a few MB/day
590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What (free) linux distribution for COLD storage making? (Security) on: May 23, 2017, 01:45:23 PM
Hello i have 2 desktop PCs. A new one connected to the internet. and the old one, already for 2 months disconected from internet and do not plan to connect it to internet (or the new pc via lan most probably also not).

I want to use the old PC as a "tool" to make "coldstorage" wallets (probably using electrum or multibit wallet) and storiing these encrypted wallet files both on the old PC hdds and then on couple of external backup HDDs (2) and couple of USB devices.

My question is- what Linux distribution should i download to make a LIVE bootable Flash disc to run on the old PC and to make the offline cold storage wallets from this linux distribution...

What linux live flash disk version should i download....? (it should probably be compatible with my 6-7 years old PC, and probably also be compatible with the software/desktp wallets im going to use). But i believe or major BTC wallets (dekstops) are linux compatible (like electrum or multibit)?

What linux version to download and from where?

I think a really simple work aroun is to use a virtual machin.
You can use vmware or Virtual PC.
You install a virtual machine over a usb drive and when you do not use it, you can easily shut down the virtual machin.
This is good against ramsonware virus...
You unplug the drive when you do not use it.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money? on: May 19, 2017, 03:31:48 PM
the confirmations of transactions could the weakest of bitcoin currently because even the bitcoin price was so high but the transactions was too slow and i think from this side bitcoin could not replace the conventional money because with the money people could do instant transactions between person to person without wait the confirmations and bitcoin could not do that

i think not just the ten minutes for confirmation time are the problem!!!
for the small transaction, paying with bitcoin still become too much expensive for the high fees
just think to buy a coffe...
592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things Bitcoin CANNOT Do on: May 19, 2017, 11:23:31 AM
i think you could add:
"i can't invest in bitcoin right now, if i'm not already rich"
a lot of $$$ to enter in the game!!!
better to try invest in the altcoin business

you dont need $2k to get into bitcoin.

just like people dont need $42mill to invest in gold.

you dont need to buy a whole bitcoin
you dont need to buy a whole tonne of gold

you can buy parts of both in smaller measures, which you can afford
gold has ounces and grams
bitcoin has millibits and bits
ok.
you are right.
I explain better.
with my assertion i want just say who to enter in the mining business (bitcoin mining business) you need a lot of $$$ and cheap electricity...
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money? on: May 19, 2017, 10:41:41 AM
Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money?

bitcoin is just at the beginning of his history.
and until you will see this chat rise, there will be the opportunity to substitute $ or euro or yen in a near or far future.

594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin multi function in its use on: May 19, 2017, 10:38:28 AM
Many people use bitcoin as a currency but there are also as a means of sending money because it is cheap cost

In this case you usually use bitcoin for what?

the "MOST WANTED" things for people who are using this currency (bitcoin)
1) Transaction in bitcoin world are near to anonymous
2) you don't need to pay tax for you incomes/gains
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things Bitcoin CANNOT Do on: May 19, 2017, 10:35:14 AM
What Bitcoin CANNOT do:

- It can't ''mutiply''
- It can't be ''cloned''
- It can't make 3% interest a day
- It cant be ''generated''
- It can't grow except in value
NB: It can't make you money for nothing

i think you could add:
"i can't invest in bitcoin right now, if i'm not already rich"
a lot of $$$ to enter in the game!!!
better to try invest in the altcoin business
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've Had Enough Of BTC - Converting To A New Currency on: May 19, 2017, 10:31:55 AM
I've had enough of btc and its rising fees along with many hours of unconfirmed transactions. No one should have to continuously chase fees just to get a quick confirmation. This is insane and madness. This is destroying the business model for those who wish to do e-commerce business using bitcoins.  Which cryptocurrency to you recommended to switch over to and why?

hum!
this could be true if you want to use bitcoin to small payments..
a lot's of coin was bornt to fix this problems...
I mean that now, whit this high values, you risk to pay more for transaction fee than stuff...
think if you should buy a coffe with btc...
no one will buy a cup of coffee with this bitcoin fee!!!
