581  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-07-08] There’s a Lot of Bitcoin Hype on: July 09, 2014, 03:16:36 PM
Why would the hype not be justified? I can't think of a single reason...

I mean, I was amazed by the fact you could already pay with Bitcoins for Humble Bundle's and such at a very early stage, and now Newegg and such company's are accepting the thing it is all going to skyrocket.
I bet we can expect the first big car company's to accept Bitcoin within a year.
582  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I didn't pay capital gains tax on bitcoin sales to IRS today on: July 09, 2014, 03:12:53 PM

A lot of people (who don't pay/file taxes) make this argument. If you don't believe in paying taxes then how would food safety be paid for, or how would national defense be paid for?

Food safety is the responsible of both consumer and producer. And national defense alone don't cost 30%+ income from everyone in the country.
I don't live in the USA, but the immense oversized army the thing has can bring a man thinking where the money comes from, they could easely cut in such relatively unimportand matters, but who am I?

583  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Received Mail from Japan Court Regarding MTGOX on: July 09, 2014, 03:07:18 PM
So long story short: there are a lot of creditors and questions but we can only awnser FAQ's so go to our website.

Why do they even send a letter for this bullshit? I recon they want to stretch time as long as possible and try to de-escalate the situation before actually doing something.
My mind is way to tired to think logical, sorry Tongue
584  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Japan will not regulate Bitcoin ... yet on: July 09, 2014, 03:02:39 PM
i always assumed that the beauty of bitcoin was that there are no "regulations" on it!!!i dnt knw maybe i was wrong.
Everything will get regulated, governments don't give a single fu*k if people don't want it to be regulated, they want money wherever they can get it from.
585  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: My buddy is getting a divorce. Can the court seize half of his bitcoins? on: July 09, 2014, 03:01:12 PM
This idea is definantly a keeper, I mean, I hope I won't get divorced in my life buy may it happen I have a escape plan for all my money Tongue

You haven't read the messages in this thread, did you? Wink

In summary, if after the marriage has been irretrievably broken down you spend your money for things you didn't use to spend it for before it will be considered dissipation and you will owe 50% to your wife
I actually did, but the fact is that law's are not the same everywhere my friend Grin
You could always keep a sum secret for your family in the form of Bitcoins, so incase you lose your job or something you always have something to back up your needs Smiley
586  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Canada Signs First Ever Official Law Regulating Bitcoin on: July 09, 2014, 02:59:23 PM
Laws are one thing, enforcing them is another.

Just like piracy laws, I bet 0.000001% of the people downloading illegal things actually get jailed or have to pay a very large sum.
587  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are bitcoin bounties legal? on: July 09, 2014, 02:56:54 PM
Why would it not be legal? You offer money for a service, easy as that no?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm 99% sure it is legal.
588  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BFL (Butterfly Labs) Monarch Very Late. ||Attention: Lawyers & Monarch Customers on: July 09, 2014, 02:50:42 PM
The point is, why did people even bother buying anything anymore from BFL as they KNEW and KNOW they are either NOT getting they're producs or getting them LATE.

I call that pure ignorance and sorry but buying from them just proved you are plain stupid.
589  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin tax up to 22% in Greece! on: July 09, 2014, 02:48:13 PM
Wat? They can't do such thing...

Here in NL, we can only get charged money if we have a certain amount of BTC which in my country is aka Box 3, or Much Money  Grin
590  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitboat [FR] on: July 09, 2014, 02:46:39 PM
Hello sir,

This is not the right location to post it in, and with my limited Frensh (which is sad becouse i've had it for 3 years at school Tongue) I can pull out you want to arrange something to buy Bitcoins, so again in the wrong section.

Thanks sir.

Merci beaucoup monsieur Tongue
591  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Why bitcoin is going nowhere (too hard to buy bitcoin) on: July 09, 2014, 02:44:32 PM
I think BTC-e still doesnt require any information as far as private information goes, it's just a tip.

BTW, now I wonder what MT.gox did with all the personal info they got, hmm..

Anyway, use like the strongest passwords you can think of, nothing is a sure thing in this world.

Better use the strongest passwords you can remember.
I have seen quite a number of persons forgetting their "ultra strong password" used in their bitcoin wallet...
Haha good call, I'm not a native English speaking guy so stupid mistakes as these happen with me, unfortunantly Tongue
594  Other / Meta / Re: Tried to support the forum and advertise and got scammed - Pls Help on: July 01, 2014, 04:20:04 PM
I don't admire them but I thought that particular user coming up with that sneaky name was pretty sly and cunning. Though I don't agree with what they do, scammers can sometimes be pretty smart, though the people they con often tend not to be.
The trick is to double and triple check if you have the right person, it can be so easy to misform a name it ain't even funny anymore.
595  Other / New forum software / Re: Downvote / Dislike button on: July 01, 2014, 04:16:48 PM
It's really tough to do right, it seems. I've never seen a forum implement likes, dislikes, or a reputation system without it turning into a circle-jerk mixed with unnecessary drama. I can't even really think of any way to improve it, though. Tying money in doesn't seem to help... I found a druggo forum where the users were all able to kind of "sub-reply" with comments and a rating of the post, which seemed like a really great idea, but their posts were all unreadable quasi-academic papers and still unproductive given sourcing every argument you make doesn't change reality (it was still a lot of speculation and disagreeing studies), just takes up a damn lot of time and looks like an exclusionary human centipede of ball-sucking.

I'd be worried, especially with hero+ members, that the ball-sucking human centipede would come in the form of all non-optimistic bitcoin news or speculation being hidden. I took a different position before, but now I don't really buy that forum members should have any kind of regulatory power over others. The trust system was a really cool experiment and seems completely reasonable, but I haven't found it beneficial in practice (maybe a poll would help determine whether or not users find it useful?). Spam and the like's dealt with fairly quickly on the forum already using only the pretty basic reporting mechanism. It doesn't fix scamming, but as long as it's clear it doesn't (rather, that it can't), I guess that's acceptable.
It would be such an redicilous increased load on the mods it would be un-doable, think of it, every dumb-ass can dislike a tread > gets smaller text > automatic report > more work than normal...
596  Other / New forum software / Re: Just cannot believe the price on: July 01, 2014, 04:12:59 PM
facebook is worth billions. Grin

But does anyone want that sh*t company? I don't think so, all they do is spread BS and earn money of our things we put on there..
597  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Question on: July 01, 2014, 04:08:47 PM
For the record, not allowed on any rank, not Sr. member, not Hero member.

You can have coloured text at some point I beleve (well I have it in my sig and i'm a SR. member... Hmm)
598  Other / Meta / Re: My Original Account (HeroC) Has been Hacked! on: July 01, 2014, 04:03:23 PM
But how has the person be able to gain acces to your account?

Anyway, use like the strongest passwords you can think of, nothing is a sure thing in this world.

How would you be able to guarantee that people get their investment back? Long term Escrow?
600  Economy / Services / Re: Just trying to make it to publish my book. on: July 01, 2014, 03:58:05 PM
Hmm, these poems are actually not that bad, I hope you will be able to finish and publish your hard work!
