581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your New Year's resolution? on: December 31, 2023, 03:07:08 PM
It's been a year of gambling and overall I enjoyed it. However, there are times that I loss control and that resulted me being upset because losing control easily mean losing more money that I suppose to.

My New Year's resolution this year is for me to be more discipline in gambling, and that I will be able to stick with the game plan, whether it's short term and long term gambling. Additonally, that I will prioritize it more as a fun activity than a money making activity.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Pacquiao vs. Buakaw - April 20 on: December 31, 2023, 02:27:24 PM
One thing I've noticed, there's a lot of exhibition matches recently and YouTubers doing boxing matches already this year, I don't find it awful but I'm weirded out because it's a fun event to happen, I hope we get to see more of them though.

I am not familiar with other youtube boxing stats, the people I know are the Paul Brothers, Logan and Jake, they are very active in promoting their fight and we can say that it's a successful fight, especially Jake who's been active lately.

This is the trend now, they know that there's a lot of money in boxing, even a UFC fighter admitted that he made more money in boxing than in UFC.
Just like Francis Ngannou, a UFC fighter, although his fight with Fury wasn't considered as an exhibition fight but I just want to point out here how much he made in boxing compared to what he made in UFC.

As per report,

https://www.essentiallysports.com/ufc-mma-boxing-news-how-much-money-did-francis-ngannou-possibly-make-against-tyson-fury/
Quote
Ngannou has been reported to have secured a payday of $10 million for this fight.
583  Other / Off-topic / Re: Simple advice, don't get carried away by people success stories. on: December 30, 2023, 09:59:18 PM
Just don't trust anyone most especially in social media where they come to share their stories of success. You don't know what's their real intention but one thing is certain, they want to take advantage on your ignorance. When they see you get carried away from hearing inspiring stories that talk about success and profits, they will really create some of it especially for you. Be wary and be cautious not to fall on their tricks. Otherwise, you will end up as their new victim.

While success stories could sometimes motivate us to strive even more, but here in crypto market, scammers use it as an advantage to lure people and fall on their traps. The best strategy is, never dare to trust other people most especially those who seem too good to be true.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying and Losing My First Bitcoin on: December 30, 2023, 09:24:12 PM
Bitcoin is still completely illegal in my country. I was first introduced to Bitcoin through a friend of mine. I first bought Bitcoin in early 2017. I bought only 25 dollars worth of bitcoins then. The feeling of making the first investment in life was different. Although I wasted that Bitcoin by investing in a third party hype site. I had a hard time losing my first bitcoin.

How did it feel when you first invested in Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a valuable investment. Anyone who sees losing bitcoin might probably be in deep regrets wishing he had secured more his bitcoin so that he won' suffer from losing it. Regardless of the amount of capital, as long as you value your bitcoin, losing it is always hard to accept. Not only in bitcoin, but even in all types of investments, losing is certainly hard to ignore. Hence, if we can secure our investments first before rushing to invest more, that would be the best decision. Greed will only lead you to losses, so never ever fall on it.
585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 30, 2023, 03:04:09 PM
~

He can't be in the top 3 because he is just a scoring machine, unlike the top 3 now which are,
https://www.nba.com/news/kia-mvp-ladder-dec-29-2023-edition

1- Embiid
2-Jokic
3- Antetokounmpo

These 3 averages a double double, and even Jokic almost average a triple double, just 1 assist needed for a triple double.
SGA could continue to play like that, maybe he'll win as the scoring champ, or most improved player this year.

Fair enough, I get your point, very simple analysis but the truth.

~snip
If you have ever followed the run of OKC, they're consistent. As you can see on the standings, they're currently ranked two on the West while Nuggets is 3rd.

They've got their key players and not just that they're key players but they're as well as the contributors of the team. SGA is getting the spotlight now and no contest that he's good.
Yeah of course, I know their ranking, but Nuggets are Nuggets, I mean they are the defending champion and they lose that big, and worst is it's on their home court where they are very dominant. I'm impresed with OKC, I think I should respect them and won't be betting against team, even at home or on the road. SGA the man, he should be the MVP of the month?

Quote
On the other hand with Pistons, how long is the contract of Cunningham on them since he's their pick on the draft? 2 - 3 years?

He will stay for a while with the team as he is only RFA in 2025, so there's still 2 years (more or less).

586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 30, 2023, 01:44:14 PM
The defending champion Denver Nuggets loss to the Oklahoma Thunder once again, it wasn't even a close game as OKC had dominated them in a 26 points victory. What happened here? I know    Aaron Gordon was out, but Murray and Jokic played, I don't understand what happened to the Nuggets, or just the OKC is so good right now?

BTW, SGA scored 40 points from a an efficient shooting (14-20), the consistency level of this guy is very impressive.

Should be at the top 3 of the MVP conversation now.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Pacquiao vs. Buakaw - April 20 on: December 30, 2023, 09:33:30 AM
I saw this news a few days ago and wasn’t sure if it was credible. There have been so many rumored Pacquiao fights that never really materialized like the ones against McGregor and Ryan Garcia.
I knew about the McGregor fight, but not with Ryan Garcia.

In fact, Pacman was ordered to pay $5 million to Paradigm Sports Management, this was on the possible fight between him and McGregor but didn't happen.

You can read the full story here : https://www.rappler.com/sports/boxing/pacquiao-loses-case-united-states-firm-ordered-pay-millions/

If it is legitimate then it should be an interesting bout. Buakaw is not some random youtuber or some undersized guy going up in weight. He is a recently active fighter with some experience in bare knuckle boxing. Although Pacquiao should be the favorite, I believe Buakaw could still be somewhat competitive against him.

With exhibition matches we don’t really know if it is a scripted result or not so there might not be many casinos taking bets on this fight.

This was already confirmed, so I believe it's legitimate. Both fighters will be fighting in Bangkok, Thailand.
588  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: December 29, 2023, 09:56:57 PM
Being financially stable will contribute a lot to the welfare of the marriage. With sufficient funds to raise a family, that will make both the husband and wife stress free in their marriage and will most likely live a happy marriage. Unlike those marry without stable sources of income and without stable savings, the marriage might only suffer in the long run and the success and happiness of marriage will be put into compromise.
589  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone can succeed as a bitcoin trader on: December 29, 2023, 09:27:57 PM
Anyone can decide to trade, but its hard to believe that anyone can succeed in trading. Trading is not as easy like everyone has come to believe, that they will just trade and make instant profits. It takes a smart and wise thinking individual before he gets to take advantage in trading, otherwise he will trade and definitely end up losing all his capital. And that's how trading can be very risky, you can't make instant win and profits but you can always be an instant loser if you decide to trade without learning experiences.

Hence, anyone cannot succeed as a trader if he does trading the wrong way. But if he knows how to analyze the market well and makes a perfect timing to trade his coins, he will stay trading in profits.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What gives high winning percentage for you, spread or total? on: December 29, 2023, 04:56:42 PM
In basketball which is my favorite sport to bet, I am mostly into the spreads. I am not into total odds because it is another work of research and analyzing teams' scores in their previous games. I just prefer the usual way which is analyzing who wins, and the ability of the teams and players.
It's more of the spread I agree but I think this will still depend on how much money we are talking about here, because there are gamblers who can make good profit on their total bet as well. Basketball is also my local team sports, and some times I also bet in boxing which I can say are more fun to watch while having your bet. Just bet on which you think you are profitable, as long as you do analyze then it can be good, you just need to hope for the luck.
Why talk about money? I think we need to deal first on how to win, because if we are comfortable with our betting style and we find it profitable, it's easy to grow our money. We gamblers do set our bankroll, that's when we are already serious with gambling, like we are ready to consider it beyond entertainment, we get more ambitious because we trust with our system that would work.

So it takes money to make money, but you never risk big money if you aren't confident enough to achieve long term wins.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Pacquiao vs. Buakaw - April 20 on: December 29, 2023, 03:54:51 PM
But there is no mention of the location yet so maybe they are still negotiating where they will do it.

There was already a location of this fight, you can see from other source ; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manny_Pacquiao_vs._Buakaw_Banchamek

Quote
Venue   Bangkok, Thailand

According to the promoter of the event, the Pacquiao vs. Buakaw match has a total investment of $25 million.

Both fighters will be making big money on this exhibition fight, bigger than a regular fight or professinal fight. So I don't agree with people saying that Pacman should just enjoy his retirement when he is enjoying his passion and at the same time making a decent amount of money.

We know that Manny loves to help, this million dollars he'll  make, portion of these will surely goes to different charitable institutions.
592  Economy / Economics / Re: How to gain money on: December 28, 2023, 08:59:35 PM
Without:
Charity, begging, illegal, stocks, trading.

I would rephrase the question a bit. At least in my language, there is a huge difference between wages and income. So, I would recommend not to ask how to EARN, because this is a process where someone pays you, but to raise the question - how to start creating income. This is when YOUR ACTIONS start generating income. In this case, you depend only on yourself, and you can control the flow of income. And you will not depend on your employer or his greed. Although having your own income does not negate having a contract job.
I agree on you. Earning an income is always the basic, but creating an income requires knowledge and skills. If you have that, you can easily find ways to earn an income even without relying on your employer to provide you an sustainable source of income. With limitless knowledge, that gives you advantage as to where to look for an income, and with skills that you have developed, that will help you make your own income through having your own passion in your job.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 28, 2023, 04:08:48 PM
In what is probably the most overmatched game of the season so far, I like the Boston Celtics to beat the Detroit Pistons today. Maybe not even worth the time to make the bet given the odds, but if you need a win to help out your self esteem or you’re looking at getting slightly better odds on a different bet, this might be a good game to toss in.

I agree, this is a home game for the Celtics and although the spread is high, considering they're up against the worst team in the NBA now, this is just too easy for them. I don't even worry if their starters will play limited minutes because I'm confident that their 2nd unit is better than the starters of the Pistons. This battle is a system vs system, and the Celitcs system are just way better compared to the road team. Good Luck!
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 27, 2023, 02:24:23 PM
So AJ who hinted an interest in fighting Wilder after his fight with Wallin. AJ might get it since Wilder after that humbling defeat to Parker started to talk once again. Wilder still wanted the AJ fight a go and was even saying that AJ might use the Parker victory as an excuse and pick another opponent.

I don't understand  anymore what Wilder is thinking. I mean, if AJ would not choose to fight him, there's nothing he can do with that as he messed up his chance to fight with AJ by losing in a unanimous decision, the fight even has a named which is the biggest upset this year for a big fight.

AJ vs Wilder is not anymore fun to look even on paper, the performance of Wilder showed he is declining as a boxer, so might as well start again from the very start or hang the gloves to avoid more losses coming.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips to avoid compulsive thoughts related to anxiety on: December 27, 2023, 01:40:57 PM
if gambling causes you anxiety it might be best to lessen your exposure to gambling and find a professional to talk about your issue. while trying and fixing the issue yourself is good, it is still best to let a professional assess your problem and provide proper steps on how to deal with it.
Looking for professionals to help you with your problem might be too expensive. Why not try seeking help within the family first?
I mean, if we do recognize anxiety, that is being honest to ourselves already, so we will not be ashamed of telling our problem to our family as they care for us as for sure they'll help us fight.
596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Trends Among Beginner Traders on: December 25, 2023, 05:18:55 PM
You can't give what you don't have. This is applicable to all beginner traders who pretend to be more skillful when in reality, they don't even know how to trade and end up profitably. It's like that they don't want to be boastful but they want to brag the thing that they actually don't have. Most likely to show off or just want to prove to other people that they are not a failure so all they need are just to pretend to be real life experienced traders.

In the end, they are not actually fooling the people around but they are fooling their own selves. And generally, no trader will be successful if the mindset turns like that.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 25, 2023, 04:55:52 PM
Buy a little bit of bitcoin every week don't care if it's a $1, $5, $10, $100, figure out what you can afford every week and buy it, get rid of unnecessary expenses or whatever you can think of getting rid of and spend it on bitcoin
5 to 10 years if you buy some every week you will be a multi millionaire
Bitcoin is obviously an expensive investment, most especially if you are trying to accumulate the whole piece of it. But if you are trying to do dollar cost average regardless of the amount, you will not feel the expensive price anymore as you are only investing every now and then the amount that you can afford to lose.

However, the only thing that you should worry is that if you are not patient enough to hold for that long term. DCA will be useless if you suddenly resort into panic selling everytime the market is crashed due to market price correction.
598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 25, 2023, 01:47:01 PM

Was not able to see the fights but based on the reports, Wilder was just too bad and Parker deserved the win, still a shame as I think that the fight between Joshua and Wilder will not be for any time soon. A great boxer can deliver a knockout punch but can also receive one and Fury is the best example for that.

Most likely he underestimated his opponent and didn't really take it seriously. I think they only want the payment and it was really a surprising event because we never see such fights in one night, especially with these kinds of boxers, especially the heavyweights. they are given huge paychecks and no one could really decline such an offer because mostly they are after the money when they want to fight someone. No one really loss in their fight because they received their payment well and those who won had another chance to get to fight for that country again.

Anyone can speculate that a heavy favorite fighter losing is due to him underestimating his opponnet, but that's not the real case here. Wilder is already scheduled for a bigger fight after that fight and he will be up against AJ, so that fight has a lot at stake for him, its his future in boxing. Now, he's back to the beginning as he won't be able to fight AJ anymore since he lose, and it's not even a close one since he lose via Unanimous decision.

And this was his statement relating to the loss.

We came out short tonight. You know what, I don’t know what happened to be honest. My timing was off and I didn’t throw my punches, I didn’t let my hands go like I was supposed to. Sometimes you get like that. But you live to see another fight. You live to see another moment.”
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 25, 2023, 11:22:51 AM
@bisdak40. I very much agree. This fight is not something similar to Canelo vs. Bivol where fans can speculate an argument for Bivol to get the victory. On Inoue vs. Tapales, there might certainly be no argument. However, are we underestimating Tapales?
It's completely different as Canelo that time attempt to climb and challenge the champion on the division which was Bivol, and he failed. This, they are both on the same division, on Inoue first attempt when he climbed, he already won a championship, so we can say he's comfortable at the current division and that they are in a unification bout tomorrow.

Tapales is underestimated, that's not surprising at all as anyone who would fight Inoue would always end up a heavy underdog in the bookies market.

In any case, Naoya Inoue has won by knockout against lefthanded opponents before the fight reached round  5. This might occur again which might make under 6.5 rounds a good bet. There is also round range 4-6 victory for Inoue.

Round range sure offer bigger odds, I haven't check it yet but I'm kinda interested on betting if it's already available.
600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 25, 2023, 10:47:00 AM

In that first game, not sure though what the import can provide for the team, knowing that there are many firepower that can explode with SMB's squad, but like what you have mentioned, it's a debut, and we don't know yet if this new import can quickly adopt the way SMB plays the game.

In the first 3 quarters you can tell that Phoenix could win, but in the 4th quarter everything changes as it was all SMB.

They had a crazy run, just imagine a 38-16 score, that was 22 points win in just one quarter alone.
Overall everyone was contributing and their import score 26 points which is not bad for a debut.

Really, I thought Phoenix got that but in just quarter their effort was wasted.
