So will we see a big give away with the coins that are left? Tongue Tongue

Wow, how can you even expect that?
Anyways, I am sure he has no plans to give it away. dooglus when do you plan to make the decision on reopening JD?

So if no one can claim coins in 5years, what happens to the coins? He keeps them?

Why woudln't he keep them as long as the original owners don't claim them?

Another solution: extending the maximum swap lifetime to 90 days.  The 30 day maximum is due to regulation - not sure if they are registered in the same country as when they changed it.

But you still have the short squeeze problem. If price goes up a lot, you'll get liquidated.

They should sell an unlimited amount of TH1 at a certain price. For example, at the open price. And then reduce it every day by a certain percentage.

It's not that easy. The income generated by the contracts has to come from somewhere.

From the estimated expected mined amount taking into account the total hashrate.

They could also add put options.

From another thread:
ok thx, is there any chance you're going to return JD?

Yes, about 40% chance.

I figure this is a good increase above the 0 chance it appeared to be.  If the Canadian rules really are going to be delayed, and dooglus has forgotten what a pain in the ass it is to deal with some members of the bitcoin community maybe we really will see it return.

That would be really nice. Nowadays the only business that seems trustful enough to invest bitcoins is Bitfinex, and there the expected return from lending is quite low.

Btw, USD swap dropped quite a bit ......

And interest rates over 0.1% daily!

The site is not working - Is it a scam?

It seems so, read the last replies of this thread.

So sad. I was thinking about investing, but after the Everydice and Dicebitcoin fiascos I've become so wary of this kind of sites that I fortunately didn't pull the trigger.

If you are a dishonest person and don't worry about being persecuted by the law or the scammed customers, it makes sense to run with the money if you can get a bigger return elsewhere than running the site. For example, if the site was giving a 30% yearly return to investors, that means only 3% for the site (if their cut was 10% of investors' return, like at Just Dice), minus their costs.

If they were also investors, then their expected return was higher, so I suppose they weren't investing much.

The expected return of shorting TH1 keeps increasing. The only problem is a possible short squeeze. It would be great to be able to short it with a limited loss, by buying put options for example.
The other problem is a swap squeeze. Imagine if interest rates hit 99% on the final day and the contract value is still 1.27.  Imagine if 30 days before this the swap rate hits 3.3%/day.

Depending on the price, that wouldn't last, as people could buy TH1 and offer to lend it for less than a gigantic interest.
And you can get 30 day loans to make that kind of problems less likely.

I hope Rand Paul wins, the USA really needs him. Ron Paul would have been even better...
598  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Illuminati discussion thread Do they exist? on: October 08, 2014, 05:52:45 PM
Maybe. But I'd focus on the problems that we can be sure that exist, like governments.
599  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is your country the best? on: October 08, 2014, 05:51:15 PM
No way. Because society loves the State. It just keeps intervening more and more in every area.

What does the government have to do with what people do with their bodies? Let people produce and consume drugs if they want.
