581  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: March 04, 2017, 12:25:28 PM
Even if mainstream media from some countries is covering bitcoin, that does not mean it will be adopted by everyone.  There are scalability issue and as ETF raised concerns over the security. I wish more and more people should adopt bitcoin. There is long path of some 30 to 40 year for bitcoin to get near that state.
582  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Paul Krugman pissed when someone mentions Bitcoin ? on: March 04, 2017, 12:21:40 PM
May be bitcoin is a cryptonite for all his fiat currency theories  Wink . With each success step of Bitcoin would have triggered feeling of shame for him. He is a big stature in economic world, however that does not mean he is The oracle.
583  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can i sell Satoshi ? on: March 03, 2017, 05:58:06 PM
Hello Members,

I have a question, My question is that Suppose I have earned 0.02 satoshi in a month so can i sell that amount. Please tell me if any know about this.
I can buy but how payment?

I am not selling just asking a general question. I am new in bitcoin world.

you can sell what ever amount of bitcoin till your transaction is covering the transaction fees above that what ever btc you are holding you can sell. Their are lot of ways to sell, one by going to exchange and sell it, or in this forum also you can open thread of selling your btc for which ever payment method you are interested.
You may sell whatever amount of bitcoin provided that transaction cost is less than traded amount. Make sure how many bitcoins or satoshi are you talking about.
584  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Crash coming on: March 03, 2017, 08:21:15 AM
bitcoin price is not stable at 1200$ instead it is more bullish and reaching 1300$ mark. This indeed indicate possibility of major correction in the market.
585  Local / India / Re: New to BitCoin : Need Info on Few Things About Trading - pls. help on: March 02, 2017, 07:44:56 PM
Thanks so much for the prompt reply !

What would be a good exchange to start trading ? coinsecure or something else ?

what is "pump and dump" ?

Also what does HODL mean ? These might all be very common but am just learning...with a little help will soon get up to speed Smiley

* coinsecure is really good. You could try pocketbits.in[1] as well.  Pocketbits.in is open 24x7 and has fast KYC procedure to get you going. Currently KYC with coinsecure is loaded thus you may face delay of some days or some weeks depending on load at coinsecure. So for quick start check pocketbits along with coinsecure. BTXindia and localbitcoins[2] as well.

* pump and dump is a phenomenon commonly observed in stock, bitcoin exchange, where big players with load of financial strength create artificial hike in price. Once other people starts to purchase on large scale they simply dump their holdings and earn huge profit. This causes sudden drop in price.  Any unjustified rise in price is potential sign of 'pump and dump' scenario.

* HODL is bitcoin lingo which means don't sell your bitcoins for short term gain. Instead hold them for longer for bigger returns.

Yes, that documentary has three parts. Nicely explained, in fact it explains how fiat currency is created.
588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we see another price dip if ETF isn't approved? on: March 02, 2017, 12:43:45 PM
By looking at growth rate of bitcoin price, there is no co-relation between price hike and ETF approval. Rate is rising by like it buyers have been affected with FUD virus. Manipulators have done their job, now it is rest of herd which is following the trail.
589  Economy / Economics / Re: You should never trust banks on: March 02, 2017, 11:58:08 AM
Came across this news in International section in global economy about banks charging on deposit and withdrawal of cash. One more reason NOT to trust banks. From today itself, private sector banks like HDFC, ICICI, Axis from India are are charging on any cash transaction after first 4 per month. Check following:

http://www.thehindu.com/business/Industry/Axis-Bank-HDFC-Bank-ICICI-Bank-to-charge-Rs.-150-for-cash-transactions/article17392291.ece?homepage=true[/url]

Who would accept these kind of charges in withdrawal and DEPOSIT of cash?  This is ridiculous and insane.  We need bitcoin revolution to find against this monstrosity.
590  Local / India / Re: Axis, HDFC, ICICI banks will charge Rs.150 per transaction after 4 transaction on: March 02, 2017, 11:46:07 AM
This is very unreasonable increase but one should remember that banks also need money to run their businesses and these money come from customers.
It should also be remembered that "While a transaction of Rs 25,000
from a non-home branch won't
cost you a penny, anything above
Rs 25,000 will be charged Rs 5
per thousand or a minimal
amount of Rs 150 once and for
all. The tax and cess will be
applicable on this amount as
well.
At a home branch , if the
cumulative cash (deposit and
withdrawal) exceed Rs 2 lakh, a
transaction charge of Rs 5 per
thousand rupees or Rs 150 (plus
tax and cess) will be levied.
"

With current scenario, it doesn't look like banks understand this very clearly. This move in fact will drive cash oriented economy more as people will find banks are not trustworthy anymore. If things keep happening like this then it is not far when people will start keeping cash at their own disposal.  These banks need to understand that required infrastructure for digital economy is not is place. And responsibility from the banks is missing about making digital payment consistent.
591  Economy / Economics / Re: Will you invest in a MLM scam in early stage? on: March 02, 2017, 07:17:58 AM
Many people assume HYIP When MLM scam is being discussed.  There is a subtle difference in HYIP and MLM. HYIP do not run for long time. However MLM could run for more than year or two. Thus there is chance of getting money out of mlm scam with early investment without reinvestment.
Recently came across one of bitcoin oriented mlm scam who were claiming that they have completed first batch of contracts. This company is in business for nearly 2 years.  Thus sometimes MLM scam  could go on for while (till incoming flow is greater than outgoin flow.)
592  Local / India / Axis, HDFC, ICICI banks will charge Rs.150 per transaction after 4 transaction on: March 02, 2017, 05:40:47 AM
In a shocking move, many banks like axis, hdfc, icici have decided to charge 150 per transaction beyond 4 transaction per month effective from today. These transaction charges are for cash deposits and withdrawals beyond four free transactions in a month.
These charges are applicable for saving as well as salary account as well.  Some are terming this move as curbing cash transaction and promote digital transaction.  For more information check:

http://www.thehindu.com/business/Industry/Axis-Bank-HDFC-Bank-ICICI-Bank-to-charge-Rs.-150-for-cash-transactions/article17392291.ece?homepage=true

I personally think this move is forcing people to stay away from banks and keep the cash at home. In a way it may help some bitcoin-literate people to use more and more bitcoin-oriented transaction.

593  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: March 01, 2017, 03:38:48 PM
I think it will fall back to around 900 if the ETF is unsuccessful. Thats when I'll buy.
It is difficult to conclude that Current price swing has been caused by ETP approval. And its disapproval may bring btc to 900$. For those who are positive about the ETF approval should know that ETF has disapproved BTC thrice. And rejection was not based on price swing but the overall security concerned with BTC.  I'm not sure how much drop will happen after rejection.
594  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin prices go to the moon? on: March 01, 2017, 03:34:54 PM
Bitcoin Price has crossed 1200$ barrier and currently playing on that level. Very few has understanding of who and how this price is increasing. Price increase without any justification needs to be treated with caution. ETF-approval is pending, but that news should not be the cause.
Anyone have idea why this sudden swing?
595  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: March 01, 2017, 03:31:43 PM
When people don't see a big incrase of the price since some months, they jump in the opportunity to say bitcoin is dead. When the price incrase by 10% they change their mind and say, in bitcoin i trust lol. If the price doesn't improve or decrase from time to time it doesn't mean in any case bitcoin is dead or other. They read too much magazines like the washington post, forbes, ect. Tongue
Even when they see the increasing in the Bitcoin prices last month, they will still claim that Bitcoin is death because they believe that Bitcoin is not worth to use and Bitcoin suppose to disappear. Fiat has seduced them and there is no way to change their mind. Damn. It is not good at all and you have to accept that truth. Not all of the people like BItcoin
If some people have decided the animosity towards the bitcoin then there is no way of changing that. These people will sooner or later realize that they have missed the train long time back.
For those thinking that bitcoin is dead, current price swing is slap on face.
596  Economy / Economics / Re: Would a global disaster increase or decrease the Bitcoin value ? on: February 28, 2017, 02:11:18 PM
In case of  global disaster, price of increasing a currency or commodity is less. In fact price of essentials of life such as food, grains, medicines, water, fuel (petrol, diesel) etc are far more higher. In fact if you check history, recent or old history, one point is observed commonly people cut down expenses and try to keep things as handy as possible.

Thus I don't think there is much chance of increase in bitcoin value.
597  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can I do with 0.6BTC? on: February 28, 2017, 01:45:40 PM
altcoin trading is the best option ^^

There is known risk in trading altcoins. There is big risk of loosing money altogether instead of making money. Thus stay away from altcoin trading.
598  Economy / Economics / Re: What would be effect of denial from ETF on: February 25, 2017, 08:52:06 PM
To me whether ETF approves it or not some people and/or exchanges are taking advantages of situation and using it to create hype. Pump the market to higher price and once results comes sell and earn profit if there is negative outcome. This negative outcome will not cause price to drop to $800 though, there will be !$1000 level from which further fluctuation will happen.
If outcome is positive then  simply hold coins for some more time, sell once you manage to get considerable profit. Reinvest the profit and take out seed money or initial investment. With positive investment, there may be new thing happening in bitcoin market.
At some extent I think gradual price rise is expected because bitcoin supply has been halved and demand is increasing.  However sudden movement are somewhat signs of FUD reaction.
599  Economy / Economics / What would be effect of denial from ETF on: February 24, 2017, 05:13:17 PM
As per ETFdailynews[1], there are only 35% chances of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approving WINKLEVOSS BITCOIN TRUST ETF.  Now given situation many are thinking and pumping their money in purchase may find it difficult. Would it trigger bear phase in market.

This is not the first time when ETF has declined bitcoin. This is third time ETF will consider bitcoin.  Bettor have put only 35% money on approval by ETF

600  Economy / Economics / Re: Is trading just educated guessing? on: February 24, 2017, 01:43:05 PM
Can you really be sure you will profit unless you have insider info?

Not every time you can be sure of profit.  With a guess or wild guess there is low possibility of gain. With more and more correct and relevant information at disposal a guess becomes more precise and increases profit earning chances. Correct analytical skills are synchronous in making profit making decisions. In the end,  trading done right is educated guess which is backed up by analysis and experience.
