581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: myetherwallet got hacked on: September 17, 2019, 08:41:39 AM
Hello,
me and a friend working together in a business which involves crypto currency.
Last week, he told me that all our USDT + ETH got transferred to another wallet which is obv not ours.
We stored USTD + ETH on myetherwallet.
My friend takes care about the tezor but didn't log in on that day.
I asked him to check the balance on the evening and he told me that all wallets are empty and there is an transaction history which shows that all wallets got cleared a couple of hours ago.
He is the only one who has access to the trezor. the recovery seed is in a safe in his apartment in europe where he lives with his family. We are currently not in europe but have private places here too, so we dont use public wifi or something similarÂ
Even tho he didn't connect to MEW on that day(until the balance check) the trezor was connected to the laptop the whole day.
The laptop should be very secure when it comes to anti virus programs etc.
All BTCs are still were still there tho, only USDT+ETH got stolen.
So if someone is able to hack a cold wallet, i dont really understand why he just stole everything on MEW and not the BTCs.
It is the first time that i hear that something like that happened.
Basically someone stole a pretty big amount from a cold wallet without entering the code on the trezor, which is necessary to confirm the transaction, at least as far as i know.
I googled and didn't find anything about a similar situation.
I contacted many friends who work a lot with cryptos, people who work for big exchanger etc..Â
Nobody heard of a similar situation where a cold wallet got cleared while one of the owners is sitting next to it. Most reaction was that people think my friend stole it. I dont really wanna believe that because it wouldn't make sense to me.
Anyone here who has an idea what happened or heard about a similar case?

I hate to say this but the clue are all in there .
You've already said it only your friend have the access to the trezor and you've already ask a plenty of people who have knowledge about cold wallet and they don't even know a thing and never heard such thing.
But if you truly believe that your friend is innocent then try to contact Trezor and tell them about your story.
And by the way you should move this to other section of the forum this topic doesn't belong in Bitcoin Discussion.
582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Day Trading for a Living? on: September 17, 2019, 08:01:13 AM
Is day trading for a living your dream job? Get another one – study says 97% of day traders lose money.

https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3423101

Only 0.4% earned more than a bank teller.

You can thank me latter.
I already know that there is only a small percent chance on relying on a day trade but I didn't know that it would be less than 1%.
I already tried it before I manage to make some money from the first week but once you've slip or fail on a trade it would pull down even your profit so for me it isn't really good to rely on it.
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: September 16, 2019, 11:54:40 AM
My transaction issue has been solve thanks to the team for fixing it ASAP hope that this project would continue to grow.
And thanks for all of the other people who gives advice next time I would just change my GOLD into BTC since most of you said that it is way more faster.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $2 Billion Lost in Mt. Gox Bitcoin Hack Can Be Recovered, Lawyer Claims on: September 16, 2019, 02:33:26 AM
It would be nice if what the lawyer claims is true and can be done.  The thing is, lawyers tends to say things to console the victims for the sake of getting paid for their services.  It had been several years passed and yet, the lost Bitcoin had not been recovered.  Even if they pinpoint who the receivers are, it is quite impossible to get 100% of the lost funds of MT. Gox because they could had been sold already.  Another thing is the accuracy of finding involved people.   It is easier said than done IMHO.
Well all of the people who have been in crypto for years would provably know that this isn't really going to happen.
They are just giving a false hope for the victims Bitcoin transaction can't be reversed or unless the incident is actually an inside job,
And they would return the crypto back.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: September 15, 2019, 12:13:10 AM
Hi I just want some follow ups regarding to my instant trade I apready talk to the website's support,
And it is almost 2 days since they failed to send the ETH to the receiving address.
The status said to be failed due to out of gas.

Was transaction failure on your side or theirs?
It was on their side but I believe that it is being fixed they already DM me in my email address,
So I am just waiting for the ETH to be sent I would update this once it is sent .
They will definitely fix the situation but I believe the problem might not be from the team end because ETH seems to had some slightly gas issue problem a couple of days back cause I experienced the same thing when trying to send some ETH to someone but I will advise you to use their BTC next time cause it fast.
I will keep that in mind by the way thanks for the advice.
Next time that I would do some transaction in ETH network I would try to see if there is anything wrong so I wouldn't be put into this kind of situation again.

587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did fear cause that sharp dump? on: September 14, 2019, 08:24:58 PM
Well surely fear have a huge play for every dump we all know that there are some people who couldn't control their emotions when it comes to trading.
And most of the time their fear would eat them up and this could be the reason of almost every dump,
I mean who doesn't want to secure their money if they think that it would be in a risky spot?

589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao has own cryptocurrency called Pac on: September 13, 2019, 10:04:01 PM
That's good to hear if Manny has in own cryptocurrency. I would love to invest in it since Manny is a good person(but unfortunately they are not raising their fund for investors) and I do believe that his crypto is legit and I know I can earn from it. There is no need for you to think twice. Every time Manny won a fight he will give money to a lot of poor people in his country and he spends millions on it and he doesn't really care as long as he can see poor people smiling and thank him for what he did. That what makes him more popularity.
Well you are right about it Manny is known to be a really good person who love's to help and donate to the poor.
And always share's his blessing who knows maybe everytime that he would win or get a huge profit he would give some of it to the PAC holders.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is or are the contribution of Crypto gambling sites to Crypto Currency on: September 13, 2019, 07:58:10 AM
We now have hundreds of Crypto gambling sites and many more coming I honestly think, gambling sites contributed a lot to the adoption of Cryptocurrency because even gamblers that do not know about Cryptocurrency adapt and learn how to use it so they can play in these Cryptocurrency gambling sites.
Yes and for me it is the best contribution of this gambling sites to the crypto community,
They are attracting non crypto people to play with crypto so it is increasing the demand for the crypto that this gamblers would use.
And some people would really love the crypto games because it is so easy to understand and play,
Not to mention that they could play it anywhere even in their mobile phones .
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling affected your personal reputation? on: September 12, 2019, 07:50:53 AM
Yes I could say that it really affect my personal reputation.
Some of my friends admire me when I win some easy money from gambling.
While some would look down on or make fun of me when I lose some.
But I don't really care about it as long as I am playing my own money and nobody is getting hurt because of it.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling just for fun? on: September 11, 2019, 07:10:34 PM
There are some people gamble and lose. if you ask them why do you gamble? They will answer you "just for fun"
They know they are loser in long term and no strategy works, but continue to gamble for fun.
How can enjoy something that you know you will lose? Is losing money really enjoyable? Isn't there any other entertainment you can enjoy?
I think these people are still hopeful of winning back previous losses or they are addicted. Gambling cannot be just for fun. There are many free games too.
TBH I was one of those people who gamble mostly for fun the profit is just a bonus or trophy to brag.
And my reason back then is because it was fun and thrilling I mean there are games that would be boring to play if there isn't money involve right.
But I got over it and stop I just found a new things to do for fun and excitement.
593  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you protect your cryptocurrency from thefts? on: September 11, 2019, 05:59:09 PM
Hey!
How do you take preventive measures to avoid getting your cryptocurrency stolen or hacked? I read news about Bitpoint and Binance hack and it seems while exchanges are definitely are at risk of getting hacked, no doubt. But how do the crypto holders protect from hackers?

Do you use any special tools?

Use a hardware wallet if you would invest in crypto might as well invest in the safest wallet for your funds.
I am only using the exchange whenever I would trade my crypto's I don't really like to keep my crypto on them I want tobe the one who is responsible for my money.
So that if ever something wrong happens I know that it was on me and I wouldn't blame somebody else.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An indisputable proof that bitcoin is fake money on: September 10, 2019, 09:30:35 PM
Everything is fake, its all a just a faith based system.  It just matters that the person your exchanging goods or services with accepts what you are offering.

It is really just manipulation by others, even bitcoin is controlled heavily by the whales and miners but it is the best decentralized system we have so far.
I agree with you it all comes down to our own perspective,
Other might call it fake or whatever but it all depends on us.
And even if some says that it is a fake money then it is one of the most expensive fake money that I've known so far.
And it is capable of being used just like a regular currency so for me it is not a fake but rather brand new type of money.

595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: you can be the richest man in the world if you travel to 2013 time machin on: September 09, 2019, 09:22:16 PM
If you would go back in time why not make it back to when Bitcoin was first created and made a transaction back in 2009.
But if I could ever go back and buy some Bitcoin I would hold it till December of 2017 where it hits it's ATH and wait till January or Feb of 2019 to buy back again.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Akon talks about bitcoin and his own coin on: September 09, 2019, 07:03:22 PM
So.. if I found the right website, Akon is creating his own coin, Akoin. From their website[1]: "AKOIN IS THE EXCLUSIVE CURRENCY OF THE AKOIN ECOSYSTEM". Great, another unnecessary coin. I'm not saying that Akon is a bad person, but if he really wanted to help, pretty much every use-case indicated on their website can already be done using BTC and ETH. I'm guessing that some people just proposed this idea to Akon and asked for permission to use his name. Pretty much the same with Manny Pacquiao's PAC token.

[1] https://www.akoin.io/
Agreed, already there were more coins based on personalities. Some even created by them as they're good at programming. There needs to be some use case that is unique to get good value to the project and the coin. Here the coin might get popularity as it is named based on his name, but when it comes to use case and growth it won't attract good investors choose it.
Only the noncoiner would go to this tokens we all know that those famous personalities token doesn't really have a use in the crypto society except for attracting new investors.
And those new investors would just end up eaten by the market due to lock of knowledge about what they bought.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still excited when there is news about the real Satoshi coming up on: September 08, 2019, 05:41:03 PM
Actually I don't feel tye excitement anymore it is more on a dhame for those who are still claiming to be Satoshi.
As years passed by I accept the fact that the real creator doesn't really want's the attention doesn't want to be know he/she or they simple wants the Bitcoin to be put up and used by the people Satoshi didn't reveal it's trueself back tyen for it's own reason and it is clear that Satoshi doesn't want to be revealed because Satoshi cleared all his/her or their record and just vanish from the web.
598  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2020's gonna be lit!! on: September 08, 2019, 07:38:42 AM
Well I hope you are right about it .
Most of us loss so much in the 2018 fall and now the market has recover I hope that it would continue till 2020.
599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction – $24,000 BTC/USD before Christmas 2019 on: September 07, 2019, 09:22:55 PM
I just think that the price would surely go up before this year ends.
But I am not hoping for too much like that but if it ever hits above $20K and set a new ATH let's just hope that this time it could maintain it's price up there and wouldn't go for another roller coaster ride.
600  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought a bitcoin today for 9K and sold when it hit 10K should I Of left it? on: September 07, 2019, 01:29:41 AM
Should I buy back in or do you guys think it might drop?

I’m more of a day trader so any advice would be hugely beneficial.

New to this but happy with making a grand.
At least you made a profit from it and if you strongly believe that it would drop then wait for it to buy back.
Like you've said you are more of a day trader so taking small profit is what you usually do but be careful on overdoing it.
Sometimes the market could get crazy and those small profit could turn out to be a huge loss.
