Speaking of CS, they're currently experiencing a heavy workload and I can't even log on to my account. They're working on the problem, apparently but it's been a while.
5802  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-29] CoinSummit Conference Heads to London This Summer on: May 29, 2014, 06:35:24 PM
Lots of big time stuff happening in the British market for crypto these days. ATMs hitting main streets, upcoming exchanges and financial services and now one of these workshops. I'm really impressed w/ the BTC developers, entrepreneurs and promoters as they are very organized and diligent in the way the conduct business and continue to grow the market. It's starting to snowball.
5803  Economy / Securities / Re: [RETURN] Announcing CoinReturn Financial IPO! on: May 29, 2014, 06:24:53 PM
RETURN definitely has a great thing going and they clearly know how to trade. I'm glad they went public and offered to trade other peoples' coins on their/our behalf as this appears to be the best security up to date in terms of div payments. As this market continues to take off, there's plenty of coinage to be made on in to the future through the top shelf trading calls from these guys. Again, thanks for sharing your talents in such a meaningful way. May we all continue to prosper!
5804  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: CoiningSolutions.com HashFast Batch 1 next action Poll on: May 29, 2014, 03:05:21 AM
Yeah, it's nice to see some action going on. I'd really like to go "Back to the Future" on this one tho. Wink It's been painful and I think we should get punitive damages for additional compensation. Undecided
5805  Economy / Securities / Re: Cryptovest Financial Services (CVFS) Stock IPO 0.5-4% dividends p/m on: May 29, 2014, 03:02:14 AM
Nice looking site but the 'about' page seems to be under construction. Will be interesting to see how this financial service to upper scale folks will look like in motion and as far as profits other than the current projection. Wink
5806  Other / Politics & Society / Snowden should 'man-up' and face trial: says SOS John Kerry on: May 29, 2014, 02:38:09 AM
Kerry: Snowden should "man up" and do "his patriotic duty" to go to jail.
Quote
Washington: US Secretary of State John Kerry lashed out at fugitive Edward Snowden Wednesday, urging him to "man-up" and do his patriotic duty by returning home to face trial for leaking intelligence secrets.

Kerry's comments came only hours after Snowden alleged he was not just a low-level contractor working for the CIA, as the White House has repeatedly insisted.

"I was trained as a spy in sort of the traditional sense of the word in that I lived and worked undercover overseas -- pretending to work in a job that I'm not -- and even being assigned a name that was not mine," he told NBC.

In his first interview with US media, Snowden said he had worked covertly as "a technical expert" for the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency, and as a trainer for the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Kerry however denied that the State Department had trapped Snowden in Moscow, saying "for a supposedly smart guy, that's a pretty dumb answer, frankly." "If Mr Snowden wants to come back to the United States today, we'll have him on a flight today," Kerry told NBC.

"A patriot would not run away and look for refuge in Russia or Cuba or some other country," Kerry said. "A patriot would stand up in the United States and make his case to the American people."

Yeah, be a patriot and come back to a kangaroo court. The O regime has come down hard on whistleblowers and yet they play this media game of "just come back and make your case" as if the deck wasn't already stacked against the person.
5807  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-28] BTC to break $2,000 mark by Christmas – Experts on: May 28, 2014, 11:16:36 PM
Yeah, $2k is an easy and safe low ball figure which won't threaten anyone's credibility. But, I have a line into the whale community that is calling for $4k-ish and the height of the next bubble. The bottom line is, nobody really knows but passed trends indicate a rise into the ballpark in the not too distant future. The shelling out of ATMs, the extra startups popping up in the crypto community and the media attention + institutional investment additions to the ecosystem makes it hard to not envision the repeated rise of the price as BTC's utility becomes a highly valued commodity.
5808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uk have confirmed 5 bitcoin ATM on: May 28, 2014, 10:57:34 PM
This is great news and only helps mainstream crypto to the masses. People are gonna be like, what is that thing? And if nothing else inspire curiosity and spread the word of mouth campaign by folks that aren't us whom are already in the game. Good times!.
5809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bali Plans to Become a Bitcoin Paradise Island? on: May 28, 2014, 10:33:07 PM
I applaud these guys on there mission as it will only be more beneficial for the community going forward. Hopefully, more Indonesians realize the benefits and free them from the highly inflationary currency. We're starting to take the world by storm.
5810  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Favorite political figure? on: May 28, 2014, 10:11:24 PM
What a guy!

Yeah... definitely. The war against Iraq alone cost the American tax payers some $2 trillion (and still counting). One of the worst presidents the United States ever had in its history.  Angry
True but the fix was in to get us into that 'war' again and Kerry getting elected after the putz's first term wouldn't have changed things. He was a fellow Skull and Bones member after all. Anyways, Senator Rand Paul is my favorite political figure as he's been leading the charge of mainstreaming libertarian ideals and growing the republican party base in a more libertarian-populist friendly direction.

When I first read the thread title I was wondering if there was trolling afoot. But yeah, I'm a lifelong Catholic and believe in the golden rule which we need more of here in the BTC community. Not the fast and loose crowd.
5812  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Events that changed the world... on: May 28, 2014, 05:34:21 PM
Let me just caveat my post with a mention of the fact that it should've never happened the way it did and a peaceful resolution should've been mediated or just let the South go. But, the civil way or war for southern independece (depending on one's historical allegiances) saw major advances in small arms advancements as well as artillery which could be a good or bad thing. Also, despite the vast thousands of people who lost limbs via combat wounds, this led to enhancements in medical treatments like minor anesthetics and new pain medication. The period also wiped out almost an entire generation of mostly men in the country w/ a higher percentage in the south which probably hampered their renewal during the reconstruction period. However, during the war and most notably in the aftermath is when people decided to go west and this started the frontier movement and all the entanglements w/ the natives. This is the time period known as Manifest Destiny in American history. Wagon trains of families joined together w/ guides and the train master to travel in unison across the country and they had to endure everything form native attacks, drought, flash floods, land slides, river crossings, running out of food, etc on their way west to reach the promised land of California. Pretty interesting (yet unfortunate in some ways) period in our history. Back east the industrial revolution was just getting underway while people that lost plenty during the war picked up and went west. Then, they turned the reigns over to W. Wilson and it's been mostly going downhill ever since.
5813  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Inclusive Capitalism on: May 28, 2014, 05:20:28 PM
People say capitalism is broke, but we don't have free market capitalism anymore.

In a capitalism system we'd have free market banks and money, instead of crony central banks and central planners.

Govt is broke, NOT capitalism.

Amen. On one hand, you got the lefties bitching about the capitalist system which we don't have and on the right, you got supposedly capitalist minded people apologizing for big banks and big business that operate in collusion w/ and at the liege of the govt bureaucrats/regulaters. Just like the political system, we're operating in a false left/right dichotomy which is a huge smoke screen obfuscating what's really going on: the establishment which currently own the leadership of the Dems and GOP are cutting deals to grow government for their own purposes while we all are shit on. So in my mind, the Rothchild bitch can just shut the fuck up as she and hers have been pimping nations through predatory banking practices for centuries and this so-called Prince is just one of her little whores.
5814  Economy / Securities / Re: [RETURN] Announcing CoinReturn Financial IPO! on: May 28, 2014, 01:53:35 AM
It definitely was a great payout today and I'm sure everybody is happy w/ that kind of progress. This is the kind of upcoming dividends I'm sure most of the newer IPO buyers were thinking of when either buying as newcomers or the veterans that wanted more exposure. If this trend holds, those buy order prices are gonna become a laughing stock if they're serious. Keep up the great work, Return!
5815  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine and the Lies of the U.S. Media on: May 28, 2014, 12:56:55 AM
Yep, Paul Craig Roberts is a gem among gems in the not so mainstream media. He's like the right wing version of Glenn Greenwald. And of course, he gets it all right on his assessment of the Ukrainian situation and Washington's control over the media narrative on this. Whether I have on NPR or Fox News while driving, I hear the same Pro-Russian this or that to blame for EVERYTHING Ukraine related. I just keep  Roll Eyes
5816  Other / Politics & Society / Prince Charles: 'Fundamental transformation' of capitalism needed to tackle ... on: May 28, 2014, 12:51:13 AM
Wait for it

Climate change Roll Eyes
Quote
Prince Charles has called for an end to capitalism as we know it in order to save the planet from global warming.

In a speech to business leaders in London, the Prince said that a “fundamental transformation of global capitalism” was necessary in order to halt “dangerously accelerating climate change” that would “bring us to our own destruction”.

He called for companies to focus on “approaches that achieve lasting and meaningful returns” by protecting the environment, improving their employment practices and helping the vulnerable to develop a new "inclusive capitalism".

The Prince was taking part in his first major UK public engagement since sparking a diplomatic row last week by likening the behaviour of Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, to Adolf Hitler.

In a politically-charged speech at the Inclusive Capitalism conference, the Prince said: “I remember when the Iron Curtain came down there was a certain amount of shouting about the triumph of capitalism over communism. Being somewhat contrary, I didn't think it was quite as simple as that. I felt that unless the business world considered the social, community and environmental dimensions, we might end up coming full circle.”
Cont...http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/prince-charles/10859230/Prince-Charles-reform-capitalism-to-save-the-planet.html
Do you UK people really take your royal family seriously or care about what they say? I mean, when ya got nothing else to go on you can always bring up fucking climate change to make some headlines. What does he think he's the next Pope issuing retarded proclamations like that? He obviously doesn't understand what he's talking about regarding 'inclusive capitalism' because it's collusion w/ government that has created this crony corporatism labelled inclusive capitalism. If there's one thing that I just won't stand for is for idgits to make any reference to capitalism when condemning the corporatist agenda that is fostered by the incestuous relationship between govt and big business. Regulations are passed to benefit the big shots at the expense of the masses and small business who operates under the manipulated system. In lieu of regulations at times, these corporatists get outright no bid contracts from their friends in government. It's all these policies combined that stifle market conditions that have starved the next generation of their opportunity to join the upper class. Just another flavor in the welfare cone
5817  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-28] Video CNBC: Marc Andreessen in bitcoin for the long run on: May 28, 2014, 12:15:07 AM
It was nice to see him reveal some of the startups in Silicon Valley around the BTC ecosystem. Lots of those folks are gonna be richer before us average coiners will but they will likely have a nice stack to pour into Rand Paul's Presidential run at the right time. This is looking like the tech buildup in the 90s but it's likely that there's plenty of staying power in this one rather than a bust longer term. Just updated innovation to keep mankind evolving back into a more free market. So, work Marc.

This is my bullish outlook on crypto
5818  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-27] Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne Reports $1.6 Million in Bitcoin Sales on: May 28, 2014, 12:06:13 AM
The article reports that Overstock and its CEO were "unlikely figureheads" in the crypto community but that seems completely ass backwards. The dude running the show over there has a steady history of bucking Wall St and talking shit about the govt apparatus. Enter BTC and the crypto world and it seems like not only would he be a likely participant but also an active cheerleader and trend setter. Overstock is one of very massive companies doing business in crypto so why would he/they not be st the tip of the spear? More so, he has bragging rights in that they were the first big timers to update business practices in the new millennium. Quite frankly, the guy is a badass.

Widow Claims Veterans' Hospital Police Beat Her Husband to Death
Quote
SANTA ANA, Calif. (CN) - After waiting for 4 hours for dialysis with a shunt in his arm, a veteran told a Veterans Administration hospital he was leaving, whereupon VA police beat the hell out of him and stomped on his carotid artery, giving him a stroke that killed him, and they lied to his wife about it, the widow claims in court.

Norma Montano sued the United States of America in Federal Court, for the death of her husband of 44 years, Jonathan Montano. The Montanos' son and daughter also are plaintiffs.

The lawsuit comes as veterans hospitals nationwide are under investigation for lying about wait times to which they subjected patients. News reports have not yet linked the long waits to any deaths. Norma Montano does not attribute her husband's death to the long wait, but to the needless beating.

Jonathan Montano died on June 11, 2011, after VA police brutalized him at the VA hospital in Loma Linda on May 25 that year, his widow claims in the lawsuit.

Jonathan, who was 65, had a shunt put in his arm by the VA hospital staff that day, and waited with his wife for treatment "for approximately four hours, without being treated," Norma Montano says in the complaint.

"This greatly frustrated Jonathan Montano, who then decided that he didn't want to wait any longer at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda and decided to leave the hospital and to go to the VA Hospital in Long Beach," the complaint states.

Jonathan told his wife to get the car to take him to Long Beach. As she went to get it, her husband "was told by the nursing staff not to leave the hospital," the complaint states.

It continues: "Jonathan Montana told the nurse that he was leaving and was going to the VA Hospital in Long Beach, California, [and that] he wanted to leave the needle apparatus in his arm, so they wouldn't have to put a new one in at the Long Beach VA Hospital.

"In response to Jonathan Montano's attempt to leave the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, California, the nursing staff called VA Police Department to stop Jonathan Montano from leaving the hospital.

"The summoned VA Police Department police officers then stopped Jonathan Montano from leaving the VA Hospital in Loma Linda, by tackling him to the floor, slamming his head on the floor, and kneeing and stomping on his neck, and otherwise brutalizing and restraining him.

"This kneeing and stomping on his neck by the VA Police Department police officers caused the dissection of his carotid artery, that resulted in immediate (or very soon thereafter) blood clotting, which resulted in [his] suffering a stroke. Moreover, the brutalization of Jonathan Montano resulted in him suffering other serious physical injuries, and associated physical, mental and emotional pain, suffering and distress.
"
I left the part about the lying and attempted cover up @ http://www.courthousenews.com/2014/05/25/68182.htm
My uncle is an MD at a VA Hospital so that's what drew me in to this one over and above that I work at a large hospital and know how some people can be treated at times.

Murders happen everyday all across the US to all kinds of random people and races. Most of these killings happen amongst people that know each other so it is a shame to see random acts of violence for no reason at all.
