5801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH really becoming a new BTC on: March 21, 2016, 01:57:31 PM
IMO most of the interest in ETH has been to profit from it.  There seem to be many who idly say it will --insert future here-- without any specifics.  They are spouting ambiguities.  I also suspect most of these profiteers don't know how to use the actual client; keeping their ETH in their exchange wallets.  Tell me I'm wrong; and explain how.

Let's all get together and pretend we care about currency's trying to rally around coin #7,001
we'll all pretend that not all of us here are only interested in one thing.. profit.
What we'll do is create some "App's" block-chain thingy ma-jigger then tack on a "token"
then we'll prance around marching whimsically swinging our elbows around all exaggerated up high..
(like a little kid marching around in Daddy's much too big shoes) it will be cute & adorable!
awwwww Look at precocious little Jimmy buying ETH - The Bitcoin Killer ..with his lunch money Mom gave him for school.
He'll tell his friends at school during recess about the plans for DAPPS and how it's backed by some famous Russian dude!

Later When ETH is dumped precocious little Jimmy will be trying to slide his arm away..
from under ETH like a guy who got drunk & picked up a fat chick at the bar.

But sadly little Jimmy "school-yard financial expert" fresh out of diapers won't make it to school today guys..  Shocked
you see on the way to school he's going to get lured into a van with promises of "Bitcoin Profits"

But it's ok though.. Jimmy will live (maybe with a sore red read-end and a little embarrassed / hiding his shame at Bitcointalk)

So.. Today's letters are I, P & O

and what did we learn today kids? Stay AWAY from the IPO Rape Van!

If coinbase adds ETH there will be mainstream fomo not unlike the mainstream fomo that brought LTC to 48 USD in 2013.

LTC is GOING ON GOX DUDE !!!

insta stealth ico

I wonder how 300 users bought it then.
Looks like your premise is: an ico is stealth if cryptohunter did not invest in it.
And the definition of insta = 1 month is... interesting.

you mean like Quark ?

5810  Other / Off-topic / [FACT] The human soul.. on: March 21, 2016, 08:53:18 AM
weighs 21 grams.

Research:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duncan_MacDougall_(doctor)

So, that must be energy right ?
How much is 21 grams of energy ?
And how much would this be in Bitcoin ?

How much are you selling yours for ?
That is after all what this web site is about isn't it ? (Selling your soul for Altcoins)

Sacrifice of "Morality" = selling your soul.
How low will you sink in Crypto to "profit" ?
..in other words how cheap are you selling your soul for ?
1,000 Doge coins ? 12 Ethereum ? 46 Monero ? 1 Bitcoin ?

I think i may have to cut to the chase and start my own coin finally!
SatanBucks ?

IPO launching soon.. purchase price per SB is 1 soul.

Oh and here is the Wikipedia quote..
Quote
In 1901, MacDougall weighed six patients while they were in the process of dying from tuberculosis in an old age home. It was relatively easy to determine when death was only a few hours away, at which point the entire bed was placed on an industrial sized scale which was reported to be sensitive to "two-tenths of an ounce". He took his results (a varying amount of unaccounted for mass loss in four of the six cases) to support his hypothesis that the 'soul' had mass, and when the 'soul' departed the body, so did this mass. The determination of the 'soul' weighing 21 grams was based on the loss of mass in the first subject at the moment of death.

MacDougall later measured fifteen dogs in similar circumstances and reported the results as "uniformly negative," with no perceived change in mass. He took these results as confirmation that the 'soul' had weight, and that dogs did not have 'souls'. MacDougall's complaints about not being able to find dogs dying of the natural causes that would have been ideal led one author to conjecture that he was in fact sacrificing the experimental animals, as is standard practice in scientific experiments.[2] On March 10, 1907, before MacDougall was able to publish the results of his experiments, New York Times broke the story in an article titled "Soul has Weight, Physician Thinks". MacDougall's results were published in April of the same year in the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research and the medical journal American Medicine.
Note, If you reply to this topic you are agreeing to sell Spoetnik your soul in exchange for 1 virtual "Satan Buck" no refunds!
5811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Are Altcoins Legal? on: March 21, 2016, 07:18:46 AM
i already said they made file sharing illegal after the fact.
Laws invented before MP3's existed etc..

And maybe there is laws already ?
Some guys are trying to say that the EXISTING financial Laws apply directly to crypto.
Canadian Tax law sure says so..

And yeah the seized Silkroad BTC the Marshall's were selling is a funny predicament LOL

I think what the various governments are *likely* to do is more important than my own speculation.
In other words my own personal interpretation of law is not going to help me much.

Take for example the homeless in my City were recently given tickets with Police supervision
for having shopping carts on the sidewalk. (blocking the side walk Tickets)
10 years earlier the city did the same thing and back then it was challenged in court
and the Police + city were found guilty for violating peoples rights.
..did not stop them from taking the carts away from homeless and ticketing them for sitting on the sidewalk.

So there is a massive contradiction in law all the time.
I also don't think laws on Drugs are comparable to financial law.

I recognize the guy in the picture phoenix1969 from Coindesk Disqus comments
he is probably the only guy i can remember who has spent more time than me there..
bashing Shit coins.

And there he is.. saying "congratulations"

Why was he or the others even there ?

@OP
I believe you are correct and it was 5 times more profitable than BlockNET.
Congrats Crypto in the last year you have gotten 5x as scammy as before
and cried "FUD for bucks" 5x as often.

5814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Are Altcoins Legal? on: March 21, 2016, 04:45:43 AM
Maybe it boils down to an issue of your personal take on the "grey area"
If there is no law in my country that says Yes or No then what ?
That is what i am trying to get you all to think about..
Where do YOU stand?

I don't think the absence of Law makes an activity "Legal"

Further more has there ever been a specific Law that attempted address this issue in ANY country yet, even once?

Bartering ? well i have seen some weird related laws in respect to that.
But think of this guys.. IF we are going to just *assume* that Crypto activities
are already a part of the Fiat related laws then we have a problem!
..because the old laws do not address Crypto technically.
And there is a gap if you think about it.

I sure as hell am not a currency or law expert but i can see basic things..
I do see how their is laws related to Fiat and Stock Market activity etc.
So..
Let's think back to "Martha Stewart" an old lady who baked pie's on TV..
She was arrested and maybe fined (insider trading) also then put in an orange jump suit and put behind bars!
SO think about it.. are we *assuming* the existing Financial related laws apply to Crypto ?
5815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH really becoming a new BTC on: March 21, 2016, 04:36:57 AM
What he said was a complete load of utter nonsense.

There is no difference AT ALL between the nature of ETH and the nature of BTC.

Fucking FUDing retards in this place got used to not having me around.

Goddamn it.  Someone needs to show these people a thing or two.

Someone needs to show these people a thing or two?
ORLY ?
..is there a "DAPP" for that?  Grin

And you know what i have been thinking? (I may have to launch a topic on the matter)
Who are you stoat?

Really, i would love to know where these NEW users here came from EXACTLY coinciding with
a massive spammy hype campaign here on the forum.. a bunch of NEW accounts popped here
all at once flooding this place with deceitful Ethereum propaganda.
And the creepy weird part is all of these NEW users all rail & rant on like the holiest of holy super experts on Crypto
..with their post count at 8 and their registration time at 2 weeks.

@stoat
Just who are you ?
And, what qualifications and relevant experience do you have in the crypto scene ?
Why is it you demand to be the authority on this stuff and insist on lecturing Hero & Legend accounts here ?
Really, in any other forum in the world this shit just wouldn't fly!

Someone needs to show these people a thing or two?
I think we need to re-instate the "Nooby Jail" then i would not have had to run around exposing your fraud.
After all i had to go through the probationary period ..unlike you and your half dozen co-ETH-spammers.

WHO ARE YOU STOAT ?

5816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FACT] Spoetnik supports IPO/ICO coins.. on: March 21, 2016, 04:11:57 AM
But we dislike regulations, banksters and such stuff. Aren't we? We dislike scammers too, so this is a difficult question. On one side we have banksters and lawyers on the other side we have scammers and a few honest guys (being a honest guy not necessary means that the coin will be successful). Which one do you like more?

When i started mid-2013 roughly i had that gut reaction too.
But, VERY Fast i realized that whether we like it nor Regulations are coming anyway..
So.. i changed my tune on it all.
And since i seen my predictions come true.. and i warned people for years now a hell of a LOT!
I have said like a broken record if we don't get active and participate in creating rules
they will be MADE FOR US (by Governments) on our behalf.
This is EXACTLY what has been happening.
And when we had our chance to be heard like in New York about the matter in 2014 no one cared.
When i brought this up anywhere last few years all i have heard is "so what, fuck 'em!"
And comments like "They can't stop us" or "We don't need any connections to Fiat"
That is just naive and childish angst.
The whole "Crypto Hippy / Rebel" routine is admiral & all but NOT realistic in the slightest.

Anyone that has gotten to know me over the Years wound up hearing me Defend "Piracy"
I prefer to call it "File Sharing" ..so trust me i REALLY do get that crypto (no-rules) mentality.

I got two points here on that i want to highlight..

1) I agree Banks are fairly perceived as the enemy and i can't stand them all myself.
But i don't see Fiat going away for another 50 to 100 years at the earliest.
And i also do not think we can expand Crypto around the world with out a LOT of ties to Fiat. (mass adoption)
We need to learn to work with banks and this can ONLY be done with a level of realistic legal compliance.
You can not side step this!
Banks already have laws as it is so to interact with them we need to abide by law and maybe new ones to come.

2) A better way you all should look at the Laws / Crypto-Regulations issue is,
we should work WITH them with drafting regulations.
I have never ever proposed that we simply let them impose their own created rules onto us.
The various governments are over-paid idiots so why would i want them running the show calling the shots ?
Question is.. do you all think you can escape the grasp of Law and government intervention etc ?
I don't think it's possible.
For example You can say "Fuck 'em, i will do what i want" but many countries like Canada have already instituted
Tax laws that stipulate you HAVE to claim crypto profits / earnings on your tax returns.
So some guy can spout off like a Crypto-Rebel saying "Fuck 'em" all he wants..
It won't stop Revenue Canada from putting him in jail for 10 years though.
Al Capone was untouchable and what brought him down ? ..Regulations!

- So to recap, i have been saying for years we need to work with "them" to create rules / laws.

Answer me this guys would the FBI / SEC etc be ok with US Stock Market IPO's or ICO's if
..they were NOT regulated by them ?
And don't underestimate the impact of the threat of the FBI kicking your door in..
you guys can say well it's still corrupt and people still break the law.
But imagine having NO LAWS.

Seems a lot of crypto guys love all the laws that enable their plush privileged way of life.
You all enjoy the roads you drive on paid for by Tax money taken by force from people
and you all enjoy the street lights and traffic laws that make the system run..

But all of a sudden when it comes time to making money of some crypto coin IPO
..you all turn into crypto-hippy's chanting FREE MARKET™  Cheesy

Hey guys.. it's been 7 years now, Time to grow up.

And yeah..
This is yet another topic i don't think even once have i seen another guy bring up.
Once again i am the guy that has to start this discussion..
Head in the sand on purpose or just being ignorant to what is looming ?
I see the crypto scene for the most part act like this all is just going to stay this way forever.
Why the hell do you think so many exchanges started a policy where you have to provide proof of your identity ?
They did it to comply with FIAT related laws.

So you can sit in the corner and sulk being a stubborn child about Regulations,
but don't complain when the decisions end up being made for you on your behalf.
(Sort of like not voting then spouting off about how the guy in charge is doing a bad job)
5817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [POLL] Are Altcoins Legal? on: March 20, 2016, 10:20:00 PM
So like the Poll title says.. so vote guys.

Can we consider them "Legal" ?

I think best i can tell in many countries there is a grey area..
A situation where no law says yes or no.
But does that make it ok ?

Take Piracy with MP3 music.. they pretty much tried to declare them illegal after the fact.
Laws being made up after the public is already doing something..
I think Crypto is like that.. we caught them off guard with this stuff.

So what do you think people if you had to give either a Yes or No answer to the question.

I would have vote NO.
5818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [FACT] Spoetnik supports IPO/ICO coins.. on: March 20, 2016, 10:14:42 PM
*IF* the appropriate Legal Regulations are put into place for Crypto (like the Stock Markets)

Until that day i do not support them.

So does anyone see what i mean and agree with me on that ?

Right now i think they are an unfair, unsafe / too risky, invalid *centralized* distribution methods.

Your opinion ?
5819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is better than.... on: March 20, 2016, 10:06:28 PM
@Snail what is "Azure" ?  Grin

@pimpjuice
I started a topic months ago on "Masturbation" in off-topic you may want to check out.

And i did address the topic.. "ETH is better than.."

Let me ask you guys who defend these IPO/ICO "schemes"
Do you feel fine buying stolen property ?
No ?
Well why is it you guys gloss over the scammy distribution methods and rail on about them
being "good" though or saying "ya but, but.. i made profit off them" etc?

Don't you love my new Bike ? It's great huh ?
Is it stolen you ask ?
Oh well err uhhh.. It has 21 speeds though!
And.. i got it CHEAP $$$

THAT is your endless argument summarized around here guys.

People justifying bad behavior ..poorly.

The scammy IPO ends do not justify the ICO means!

5820  Other / Off-topic / [FACT] USA.. on: March 20, 2016, 09:50:45 PM
..started World War 2

And they will start WW3 also.

When the US stock markets crashed it gave Hitler his opportunity to get voted in.
When the USA went into a depression it also hit Germany hard..
This led to people being desperate for a new leader etc.. HITLER!
(Before when Germany's economy was doing well Hitler couldn't get any votes)

Later Russia won the war (not the USA as Americans seem to believe)
Russia was harassing the allies for ages.. asking when are you guys coming to invade?
Stalin was getting pissed off and was losing his patience with all the stalling.

If Russia had not fought back to the door steps of Berlin the USA would have been thrown back in the ocean easily.
Russia fought the war and won it at the cost of roughly 24 million people.
the entire rest of the world combined lost something like 2.5 million.
So there is no way in hell America would get to parade around as the guys who won WW2 if it was not for Russia.

- America's economy is teetering on failure with the 2008 recession simply put off temporarily with a band-aid.

- America is over extended on credit and has spent 4 trillion on a pointless unwinnable war in the middle east.

- America spends too much on Military budgets.

- America runs on exports from China + Canada etc and massive outsourcing.

If Trump gets voted president his various policies and executive decisions etc may trigger WW3.
and once again it will be the communists that finish it.. like China & Russia.

USA is fucked.. your colleges are full of Chinese and your stores are staffed by Mexicans
and your Tech support is from India.
China's economy became the largest a couple years back..
Do they have White Americans manning their call centers?

Way i see it is the USA is in a LOT of trouble and better get their shit together fast!
