5801  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Wallet issues on: February 25, 2020, 08:54:19 PM
Can you try to change your DNS to Google DNS?

If you don't know how to setup follow this on how to change the PCs DNS.

- First, go to Control panel
- Click the Network and Internet
- Click the Network and Sharing Center
- Change adapter settings
- Look for ethernet or wifi then right-click
- Click the properties
- Click the internet protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4)
- Then click properties
- Now click the Use the following DNS server addresses
- Then put this DNS below.
Code:
preferred DNS 8.8.8.8
Alternative DNS 8.8.4.4

- After that open Electrum
- Change the network server to "electrumx.ddns.net" Port "50005" or try other servers that listed on the server peers.
- Then test it again.

If it still doesn't work try to open Electrum with python if you haven't installed it yet you can check https://electrum.org/#download and install the PyQt5
After that run the Electrum with python using the command "python3 run_electrum" from CMD.

Let's see if it will work but if not well, I think you will need to follow khaled0111 suggestion and make a raw transaction instead as a temporary solution.
5802  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Someone else's wallet? on: February 25, 2020, 07:39:15 PM
I selected the wrong derivation path and was presented with someone else's wallet.
I was thinking that if how did you know that it is someone else's wallet.

Did you found some bitcoins from that wallet?
If you found a Bitcoin under that derivation path and you can send the Bitcoins from that wallet. There's a possibility that your wallet generated from Trezor is compromised.

But if not and you don't see any balances from the wallet(Wrong derivation path) it means it's not a bug. The generated addresses from the wrong derivation path are still your wallet but in different derivation path.
No one else can use and find that wallet except for owners who have the seed backup.
5803  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: wallet password invalid after upgrade on: February 24, 2020, 11:52:00 PM
Can you answer these questions below

- How did you upgrade it to 3.3.8?
- Where did you download this version?
- Have you tried to verify the signature first of this version?
- Do you have a backup seed phrase?

If you download it from the original website which is electrum.org and verified the signature your wallet is safe but if you are using a fake Electrum 3.3.8 your wallet is at risk.

Did you remember the bitcoin address you have from your wallet(Where your BTC is saved)? Can you share it here so that we can check if your Bitcoin still there?

I've opened the wallet file, and can see a string of text under the seed: section.  The wallet file also says it is encrypted, even though it is not, as I can read the file.  If I set the encryption to false, electrum shows me the long string which is hashed I'm sure, and attempts to change the password with failure of course.

That's a weird part it seems that your wallet file is corrupted?
What OS you currently using?
5804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Faster sync would be nice (i.e. soooo slow) on: February 24, 2020, 10:37:36 PM
Can you edit the bitcoin.conf and add this value below?

Code:
dbcache=4000

Then test if there is an improvement in syncing performance.

Since your memory is 12gb you can increase the dbcache more to 10,000mb or less. Test them every time you change the dbcache just don't set it higher than 10,000mb it will use all of your ram memory and it will crash.
5805  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A particular hardware wallet for storing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: February 24, 2020, 09:30:08 PM
Don't forget this as an option:
If you don't want to spend but you have an extra smartphone you can make it as cold storage/wallet and never connect it to the internet. Tested on my old jellybean Samsung phone with Mycelium and Electrum but limited only for BTC.
It is the best option if you don't have a budget to buy Ledger nano or any hardware wallets.

If you are going to hold more than one coin well, only ledger and other hardware wallets will give protection to all of your assets just like what they said above.

Honestly, the price right now of ledger nano is cheap compared before it was $100+ when the price of bitcoin is high.

I didn't use Ledger before but what do you mean by saying you can manage more coins by using Electrum? Also, I never heard of the reward you are talking about!

He's talking about staking by holding Tezos "Earn rewards while holding your crypto" with Ledger live.
The source can be found here https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live

5806  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Incorrect firmware updated EBang on: February 24, 2020, 08:29:15 PM
Have you tried to reset it to factory default? You can find it on the maintenance tab.

Also, check the front of the miner if it has a reset button. As I can see there are two holes on the front check them the one button must be a reset button.
If one of them is a reset button try to hold and press the reset button for 15 seconds and then wait a couple of minutes.
After that, flash the firmware back to EBIT 9.3 firmware(Make sure it's the latest version) then test it again.

This should be the right firmware "E9.3  Firmware version number: Firmware – V9.0.0.23.tar"

5808  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Asic Anminer s9k on: February 23, 2020, 07:28:32 PM
Recently there is a post here on the forum that has the issue on the middle board the same as yours but different kernel logs.
The weird thing is they also have the issue on the middle hashboard.

Can you try to attach the ribbon and power cable from chain
  • to chain [1] and then attach the cable from chain 1 to 0?

Let's see if there are changes in the kernel logs. If the issue on chain 1 is gone and the chain 0 shows some issue your hashboard is dead but if the error still in chain 1 there might be an issue from the firmware which is a common issue on this unit model.
5809  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin software project is not updated for a long time ? on: February 21, 2020, 11:58:11 PM
Which one that you are talking about not updated for a long time?

Some of them are not but some projects are always keep updated.

If you check them one by one some of them are not updated but it doesn't mean developers won't take any action to develop it. The reason is they only have fewer users who use their projects.

Sample the armory they only have few users who use their project and I think the last version is the stable one.

Look at the Electrum you will notice many commits from their GitHub because there are many active users who use Electrum and getting bugs almost every day.
5810  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17 : WARN: chain[1] - 0 of 48 chips detected on: February 21, 2020, 11:01:53 PM
Did you test to run it at low power mode? Maybe the chain 1 can't run at the higher power that is why it's not showing and getting zero chips from awesomeminer.

How about revert it back to the original firmware and test it with low power mode instead? A quick test will tell us if the middle hashboard is totally dead or if it can still run at low power mode.

In case you don't know where you can find the low power mode you can find it under Miner's Configuration tab on the WebGUI.

Did you already check this one below.

It seems legit and they have announcement thread here on our forum so I think they are safe.

5812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core opened port on Tor? on: February 21, 2020, 08:47:29 PM
I don't have much knowledge of configuring the tor hidden service but I found some useful video and guide to configure your tor.

5813  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to identify btc transactions? on: February 21, 2020, 06:57:08 PM
If on BTC blockchain there are so many addresses are attached means 900+ addresses with the single hash how can I will validate my transaction?

If you are looking for your address then all of the above posts are right but if you are talking about to validate the transaction only miners with full nodes can validate and verify the transaction.

To those who don't understand check these infographics below as reference.

5815  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 3.3.8 is not opening on Windows 10 on: February 20, 2020, 10:42:26 PM
Windows update is disabled.
But I managed to enable the log since its using the same config file with the one installed through python.

I gave up and posted a new issue: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/5974

The info regarding my tests and log about the error are there.

Can you try this?

Install and use the DDU(Display Driver Uninstaller) to fully remove the driver from your PC and make sure you are not connected to the internet.

- Open DDU
- Select AMD

- Choose the Clean and restart after that install the driver again then test it again.

Let see if it will work.
5816  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone tried the Blocknet DEX? on: February 20, 2020, 09:39:17 PM
I never heard of it before and I can't find the exact URL for their DEX exchange. It seems that you need to download the software to be able to use the Dex exchange?

I found this post "The Blocknet DEX is Basically Porn"
It seems legit and they running for almost 6 years.

Any other good alternatives perhaps?
How about binance Dex?

5817  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Anyone a Ledger Nano S expert? on: February 20, 2020, 07:57:05 PM
Where did you get/made the segwit receive address?
Did you get it from Ledger live or in Electrum?

Have you tried to export your account from Ledger Nano?
If not try to export them first and maybe you can find your wallet there.

Guides can be found here Export your accounts from ledger

If not can you explain a bit more if what procedure did you do to get the Segwit address?
5818  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance- deposit & future wallet transfer issue. on: February 19, 2020, 10:28:58 PM

Is anyone trading on binance and faced this kind of issue?
I made a Btc deposit and it already has 10+ network confirmations but is not credited in .y binance wallet.

Did you change anything from your account or reset the password?

I have a past experienced on Binance with the same issue before but according to them, you will need to wait for 24 hours before the deposit amount will be credited.
So, if you reset the password recently it will take 24 hours before you see the deposit amount.

I found this post from Binance recently.

It seems they are under maintenance.
This might be the issue why the deposit amount still not credited in your account.
5819  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: [UPDATE]Great news for Mycelium App users. It now supports ethereum! on: February 19, 2020, 08:46:02 PM

Then.. Finally, just update the current app. I dont know why before it doesnt working but now its is okay.
Because you use an old version which is ETH is not supported yet.

Take note they are currently on Beta testing so the mycelium still in beta version.

Look

5820  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the most fastest, reliable and secure Bitcoin Mixer for 2020? on: February 19, 2020, 08:16:28 PM
Sudoku Wallet - is a bitcoin tumbler, where you can mix your coins with CoinJoin and receive clean coins, which are not related to your identity.

Why it's not included to poll?

Why does it need to include to secure Bitcoin mixers? You can't even fix your SSL/security issue.

It means our bitcoin is not safe from that website.

And your website is new.
