5821  Economy / Economics / Re: Bill Holter and Jim Sinclair: Gold $87000 per Ounce at Least on: June 17, 2020, 10:02:07 PM
Go with Jim Rickards estimate as its far more conservative but still very high by todays standards.    An outright switch to gold is unlikely, we are talking about default in value occurring even while gold rises and obviously dollar likely falls in value with less purchasing power but an advantage to export I guess is one positive to it.
So the main thing I can remember from Rickards talk through is about a 40% backing to gold exchange to any currency standard, that eases the demand for gold that occurs and lowers the price down to 10k or higher.   10k is enough for trade to continue where as presently gold is so low a price it would be unable to describe the trade done but both a higher price and that 40% backing allows a link to exist to a solid value in every trade especially between countries in global commerce.    Poor and failing currency is especially a difficulty where it causes a loss of confidence and reduces business done, then its a problem.   Right now we hear often how  QE is so stimulating to the economy, it'll reverse in sentiment at a point where the value lost is apparent.

Heres Dollar index over 20 business days recently and shows a loss of about 5% of value in that time.   Pretty volatile in the big scheme and considering its the global reserve currency.
5822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is parlay an effective betting strategy? on: June 17, 2020, 09:42:50 PM
A gambling site can always lose, even if we ignore the fact they provide a service by hosting games on servers with bandwidth, operating costs, security, staff and lots of other costs its a big possible loss to run a site.   The cost of capital investment and very obviously they need a cash float to risk every day to winners of each bet.   Any company in the world has a risk to it, so yea they can lose.    Add onto that it doesn't have to go in the favor of profits for the house, almost always the house has an advantage in every game (and still they can lose in streaks of hours or days) but as I describe some of that of costs, some of it might be promotions given out, advertising possibly and admin costs.   They dont have to make a profit but I wont disagree gambling is often very good business for those that can get customers in the door.
5823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: June 17, 2020, 06:48:42 PM
Dont think they can really put the genie back in the box once its done.   They are going to force or detain people to isolate them, my guess is they would section off whole areas by closing roads or operating road blocks/checks on really badly infected towns with high % rates.

The end of the pandemic era is when there is a vaccine, measures have to be taken to reduce the spread this entire year at least.
5824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Snipie's gambling investment test on: June 17, 2020, 04:37:16 PM
Interesting topic to join the house, I'm wondering how long has this particular site been established for.  If it allows withdrawal without notice  and is liquid enough on the price available then its very attractive prospect to consider, obviously I'll look at the details further.

Surely risk is shared and ongoing, ie. a big bettor can win but also then lose later on and both will add into the profit or loss.   Or actually its possible to be wiped out short term somehow.

5825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: June 17, 2020, 03:30:54 PM
G2 being number 1 in the world is a shock for me even if its new and Astralis on back foot, still Im surprised they have come together like that.    If Kenny is on form maybe they are the team to thrive this year and win next major even.    They just won ENCE's map pick so this could quickly ruin this 3 map bet.   They played train so well they were killing off players not even in sight a few times but train is a biased map where as Mirage is not (as much), so maybe ENCE can reset and come back for that.

MIBR upset Furia as clear favourites in that last game, it wasnt listed when I went to bet so glad I missed that one.

If win my bets today, I might push the winnings onto EG over Liquid @2.5 odds as I think thats too much of a sway against them.   Thats just my personal bias rather then any informed estimation, I'll try to catch that game though.

Would this have been a nice idea for a gamble, seems decent odds
5826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO and Betting on: June 17, 2020, 12:59:07 PM
Thanks for your opinion, STT and Negotiation.

I agree with you that you need to know where and how to place bets on CSGO so that it is reliable. You need to follow the games and draw conclusions.

Can you tell me where and how to start with this?

The sites I use for information on CSGO players and teams would be Liquidpedia which also does other games and theres HLTV also which lists every match and its full details every day.   HLTV is great for showing prior match history, the player stats.   The forums arent much good but they do alot of articles and interviews.    So far as esports bets on the games, tournaments, pm me and I'll pass your name along to someone who can refer you to a good site who did the same for me and they handle big or small bets and live bets and all sorts which is useful.
5827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin ever get past $10K? on: June 17, 2020, 12:37:24 PM
Present action has it keeping lows above 50 day average and also rising while doing that, I'm expecting a fall but the fact is the price continues to be quite stable on a possibly rising trend.   My speculation is its getting squeezed and running out of time but I could be wrong.

I think we push past the blue line like yesterday and get as far as the yellow line below, the idea being we have to revise lower pricing before we can regain prices such as 10k and above.   Not that I dont think BTC cant go higher but a stable base after prior rises, taking profit and taking speculators like air out of the price would consolidate BTC price.
5828  Economy / Speculation / Re: We will likely see a sharp increase then decrease in price on: June 17, 2020, 12:35:37 AM
Good to have a plan but why would making a new high be a time to go short or take a negative bias especially, reasonable to guess but I dont see that signal as a reason its going to go down.     I was just looking back to Feb for how it left a bullish trend then and what did daily bars look like before it processed from positive to neutral then negative.   Far quicker a process then we've had recently but perhaps its a good reference for brevity

So within up trend, a decline and leaving trend, green bar up to recheck prior trend then quite a sharp reversal down that encompasses the entire green bar up.   Back to the prior decline line, now some kind of support.  Now the important point is the series of lower highs, each attempt has less energy and we finally lose altitude as the breadth of the market recognises a downturn.

Obviously we had the virus news so its more defined then now where nobody knows, however its similar pricing and fair reference.

You can bet, win and continue betting without  the 'must eventually go bust'.   Just gamble only the winnings or only part of the winnings or especially split it or budget it by the day.   I find I'm always lucky more when if I quit and come back not continually on it.   I dont know why just maybe I figure it all resets daily so coming back brings a fresh slate to the odds.   I never really agreed with chasing a loss, I just expect it to continue on many times though I agree especially on slots or similar its not smart to just give up right away either.

I put in a long shot for end of month BTC price to be near 200 day average, it moves slow enough we might hit it though hoping that particular day is the luck part.
5830  Economy / Speculation / Re: For real? on: June 16, 2020, 09:09:19 PM
The long term predictions in a Dollar price dont mean much, its a comment on Dollar more then crypto.   QE could blow up, FIAT value could diminish such that very large figures are possible.   Its possible it can happen but doesnt mean its that important.  YEN is already dead for example, it cannot repay the debt except by confiscating value and assets from citizens, the demographics dont support growth of a tax base to justify this.
5831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale revisited on: June 16, 2020, 08:10:46 PM
10% compound is a kings fortune in not alot of time really, its unlikely such a gain is possible reliably.   Of course gambling anything is possible but even 1% a day would quite nice after a while.   There is no such advantage given using this system, it can be calculated with maths so far as I know.   I might look for a link later to show this.
5832  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 16, 2020, 04:25:26 PM
Silver is anti bacterial, pretty magical but its for bad burns and difficult wounds that might go sceptic.   Ingesting silver or gold, I'm thinking of some case where a dude turned blue I think silver can prove toxic as it has some reaction.    Gold is used on food in Japan and a couple other places, imo dull but if any metal is going to be ok I guess its a non reactive one but silver we know does oxidize some.    Silver in tanks of water is used to slow down fungi growth, bacteria when we still had useful money i read the silver coins were used in bottles of milk to slow the spoil from bacteria.   I wouldnt eat one though :p

BTC forming something of a top I think but if it is the case its a slow process not a fast decline.    I expected it to fall back to the 200 day average and have recovered already by now instead its slo mo & mostly sideways still.
I have my theory that BTC only really moves greatly by consensus which is not the norm when its distributed around the world, by distance, time zone and national context so we all often disagree its worth to us personally.

Great theory worth testing, does a mask produce lower levels of oxygen.   Surely we can test if it does prove an impediment without much further interpretation required just raw data collected with and without.
5833  Economy / Speculation / Re: TA indicates a sharp drop soon on: June 16, 2020, 03:26:44 PM
TA applies to every natural force in the universe, humans trade BTC so it applies.   Just dont call definites and we good.

Possible channel down, I think bearish is a reasonable consideration at this point.  Process not event
Lower highs, bullish trends worn and passed, retested.   Only factor that doesnt really fit for greater negative is mostly rising moving averages.

I cannot agree. I reckon that what might work for Donald Trump might be a disastrous blunder for the campaign of Joe Biden.

Thats observable in 30 seconds I'd say, plain and simple Biden already was the President, vice but still his name is on the ticket and he is part of that administration so I'm sure his campaign has no plan to attempt to approach this as some kind of underdog or outsider type attack vector.     He should have been running in 2016 so its a clear point against him from the start that he is late here, cant remember if this late vice attempt for a run has occurred before.   I didnt think I'd actually see it happen tbh but in this chaos its a minor detail.

Trump from what I heard of the two is clinging like a dog with a bone to this underdog narrative and its nonsense at this point and a reason for failure, but without any better plan perhaps thats still his best chance.   If I hear drain the swamp or similar comments without thought I know he is scratched record skipping on repeat and nobody is actively doing anything there to steer this.  I'm still going to guess the precedent is with reelection not a challenger, not the polls directly but the economic figures might be the best guide to the result in November.

Speaking of rankings, look at the jump BiG took in the standings after their win, +16 spots, up to #8.

Helps that Astralis have fallen from their peak.    Esports is big business now & I got an advert for 'esports investment fund', was just looking at an article explaining the team is fed of constantly touring the globe and not having a home life.   Sounds like they tour more then the Rolling Stones, its definetly paid for them but that also means they have got money to enjoy but no time to use it.   Quite ironic in this lockdown but not that surprising being the best team has put them into every Lan as the team to beat.  They are famed for their top training, more hours on days off which not every team does.   Heres link to article/video: https://www.dexerto.com/csgo/richard-lewis-sources-reveal-crisis-behind-astralis-burnout-1378864
Until the next major and/or we have an actual 'normal' seasonal LAN event I think its all uncertain who will thrive.

I've already placed my bets for tomorrow:

CSGO
Furia -1.5 @2.35

Thats quite an upset in most bettors minds if that happens, literally Fallen from grace and his world champ status.   But yep ranks 14 higher for Furia, I'm just behind on my views and also an average 5 years younger for the team.  I know Hen1 but not the others really, saw a good clip for Vertigo from art where he just flanks and slices the enemy team in two though it was vs pistol it shows verve Cheesy
5836  Economy / Economics / Re: What can you buy with 0.01 cents (1 penny) ? on: June 15, 2020, 05:20:55 AM
1) $0.01 cent will buy you 32 BitTorrent

They made something useful out of something usually useless, thats what the bit in Bitcoin is all about imo.   Improving efficiency of exchange for value and time and in that case bandwidth.     The OP might be referring by accident to Gresham's law.

https://youtu.be/N7JBXGkBoFc

I remember personally this little skit from movies decades ago, the 1 cent salami trick.  We even learnt about this in our computer class, it might be an urban myth but I think its real enough and been attempted.   On a macro scale governments tax via inflation in this way, it all adds up to favour them.   Pennies made out of copper are removed usually as become worth more in weight then value as an element.

They cannot exactly remove 1 cents.   It'd have to skip all the way to 10 cent minimum, decimal system relates to that.   You could go full Russian Rouble on this and convert 1 old Rouble to 10,000 new Roubles and hope nobody minds enough to start a revolution.  This does happen in banana republics and some speculate will occur in some of the largest nations should debt or QE collapse.
5837  Economy / Speculation / Re: TA indicates a sharp drop soon on: June 15, 2020, 04:08:37 AM
TA is for possible paths, better then being in the dark.     We dropped down but only within a range still, as we remain in the 9200 area I will have zero surprise if it repeats this all tommorow again rather then moving downwards from here

A close below 50 day is significant but Im waiting for it to pass 50 week as this has been the low on a larger time frame so often since March, but just that is a fair move down 8700 abouts now.   Its all tradable action.
5838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volatility warning on: June 14, 2020, 11:36:46 PM
Always take profits but to sell all is quite foolish also going on past action Ive seen up and down.   The monetary policy by the largest governments of the world has never been so lax and dangerous as it is now, not for generations since a century ago which led into a war from the upset it caused.  Its not melodramatic to say we are at a turning point formed over generations from your grandparents forward, ontop of that crypto is always going to have high volatility but outside pressure is adding to it also I think
5839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy every dip! on: June 14, 2020, 11:17:38 PM
Very few people bought in at 20k, 10k sure and prices around there but it fell pretty fast from that ATH and I think the pricing we at now and last summer are probably more significant to conquering the top in that way.
9200 is a possible buy at present or tracking 50 day average which forms the lows, just above is the 2 day average and I wouldnt be too positive until it breaks that quite short term measure; which should be easy to do.
5840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: June 14, 2020, 10:35:24 PM
I believe this was a pre condition to the game and one team starts with a 1 map advantage in a Best of 5 series.    So G2 was upper bracket and had a great advantage, big favourites but Big I did know were great underdogs.   Didnt think the odds were so fab for a bet which I should have taken, think I went with number of maps and got swung to the wrong choice by odds.   Still not betting big in size so another learner game for me :p

So its like best of 4 playable maps really, the team which dominated for most of the run up in wins is gifted a head start.   I know from prior experience this determines eventual winner less then would be imagined, should have gone that way with a guess at least.
