5821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: October 30, 2020, 08:57:59 PM
yeah, but could not be of particular importance on the end, depending on results in other states
at the moment, it is pretty unclear who will win the elections, and from my point of view, Trump has better chances to celebrate at the end, but that does not matter a lot, since i am not voting on this elections, not live in US
It has importance because there are 37 states who are deciding the winner, and they will start counting later, and Washington State can even have 3 weeks of delay!
Mailed ballots are main issue and some states got deadline extension after election, and only 6 states started counting so far.
Here is foxnews article and video with more information about this:

Betnomi has a nice 30% cashback offer in case of losing bet, but I am only thinking what will happen in case final election victory is delayed for few weeks.
I can imagine scenario of public unrest, and some states even announced they will need few weeks time to count all the votes!
We may need to wait a lot of time for bet confirmation.
5825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: October 30, 2020, 04:51:03 PM
Watch Homasi vs Voelker!  Def fight of the night.
Thanks, I will take a look.
There are many good fights we miss because we mostly focus on ufc.

One nice thing about Bellator is that anyone can watch all card fights on Youtube for free:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTYcgBlkbLM

Next one is Bellator 251 Manhoef VS. Anderson on November 5th

It is now confirmed and Conor McGregor  is returning in lightweight division 155-pounds with Dustin Poirier fight.

One more thing is that Dana White talked with Khabib and he thinks and have a feeling he may still have one more fight for 30-0:
https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/2020/10/ufc-news-dana-white-thinks-khabib-nurmagomedov-wont-stay-retired?taid=5f9be428231a27000133adcd

Always makes me laugh when footballers go down after getting a flick in the face or a toe to the shin. Imagine if MMA fighters did this.
Especially with all the cameras and tech there is today, faking an injury like that is very stupid. Smiley
Not possible in MMA or maybe fighters are smarter.

Back to Back F1 races means we have Steve's F1 Bonus up for grabs this weekend as the F1 Teams head back to IMOLA.. Its been a while since the last race there
My bonus was upto 60 Mbtc last week when it went off, so it is reset back to 20 mbtc now. Still a decent prize for making 8 predictions this weekend.
Great t see Formula 1 back but it will be without any fans after government order Sad

??

Is there any official Sportsbet.io Telegram channels or not?
I found several asian and I think Chinese or HongKong channels but I can't tell if they are legit.
We need one Official global and english language channel just for news and updates, and no need for chat I think.

Nice to see there is no kyc verification and free offer from Aurox, so I registered to try how it works.
It does need some learning to get familiar how it works, so I will try to provide more detailed feedback after I finish testing.
My suggestion would be to consider adding desktop and mobile app.

5831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: October 29, 2020, 10:29:50 PM
Shame on as roma, with that low odds they failed to even score a single goal
They tried with some substitutions but it was just bad, except they hit bar once and had few more chances but not enough to beat anyone today.
Maybe they are thinking more about Seria A and next match with Fiorentina.

I have extremely low expectations from Europa league so I always bet on it just for beer money.

Same here.
Not all teams are even motivated to play in Europa League, so I keep my stakes low here and just for fun.

One months left to start of this fights of legends.
Reminder that this fight will be eight round and rounds have been shortned to only two minutes.

Today was the day of  Press Conference for Tyson vs Roy Jones fight, and you can watch it here, and it is moderated by well known ESPN journalist Ariel Helwani, people know him from commentating UFC fights, and Tyson coach for this fight is MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro:

5833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: October 29, 2020, 07:32:56 PM
AS Roma vs CSKA Sofia is one of my today picks for Europa League and without much explanation I would go with Roma as much better team.
Arsenal vs Dundalk should be a match with lot of goals despite injuries, so 3 or more goals is reasonable bet here.
5834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: October 29, 2020, 05:45:14 PM
^  As impressive as Mousasi's record at the UFC is, his matches at Bellator didn't really look that good.  And sure he's mostly better than Lima and Lima is moving up to MW for this bout.  But dunno..  Check the weigh ins.  Lima looks right about the same size as Mousasi, he's also more active and his line is plus money.  I like the spot on Lima.

And a guy I know says the price on Arteaga could be off.  It should be something like 1.60.  So at the current line he says 1.82 is def value.

I agree that odds should be a bit more even but bookies gave Lima the role of underdog here.
His brother Dhiego Lima fights in UFC welterweight and they trained together so I believe he is in good shape, and he has never been finished in all of his MMA fights.
I expect to see great fight here, and my bet here would be that fight will go to distance.

No doubt for me who will win this fight, and only question I have is how Gervonta Davis will defeat Santa Cruz, KO, TKO or decision Wink
Bet on KO or TKO does look nice for me, and I think that fight will not go to distance.
Floyd Mayweather trained with him before this fight and gave him all his knowledge.

5836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Energy Consumption Myths on: October 29, 2020, 05:01:46 PM
We all heard stories that Bitcoin spends energy like Switzerland, and that all contributes to global warning a lot, but is all that true?
No, it is all myths and twisted repetitions we here from journalists who are just trying to get more attention.
Let's take a look what is reality and what is myth.

First myth: Energy

Most articles use word ''energy'', but only thing that matters for Bitcoin is electricity. For example this Vice article
Energy should not be mixed with electricity, for example we can have several energy sources in our houses including gas.
Does Bitcoin transaction consumes electricity, gas and gasoline?
Then we can see in this BBC article, they say how Bitcoin consumes energy equal of Switzerland.
If you don’t drive a car or you don't have gas at home, energy consumption means only electricity for you, but you can not say the same thing for whole country.
Electricity is only around fifth of the world’s energy, but we don't use any fuels for Bitcoin transactions.

Myth Two: It will only get worse

It is opposite from that, and Bitcoin will probably burn less electricity in the future.
There will be total of 21 million Bitcoins, and every four years there is reward halving, and after the last halving, it is now 6.25 BTC.
In order to burn the same amount of electricity, the price of bitcoin must double in dollar value every four years.

In this article from journal Nature they say that Bitcoin would warm the planet by 2°C by 2033.
They don't explain how exactly in article, but they just assume that more electricity will be burned. If we divide their numbers, and pay the miners, one bitcoin will have to  be $160 million in 2033.
Looks like myths are spread by journalists and scientists too. Smiley

Myth Three: A Comparison of the Incomparable

''The carbon footprint of a single transaction is the same as 780,650 Visa transactions,'' says this article in The Telegraph.
Problem here is that journalist are comparing average cost of Bitcoin with the marginal cost of Visa.
Should we also take the cost of all world banks, employees, cards, terminals, etc. and divide it by the number of transactions?
Bitcoin transactions may not be as cheap, but monetary system is also not cheap, and in case of Bitcoin we have full control of our money.

Bonus Myth: It’s useless

There is now over 18.5 million mined Bitcoins since 2009. How much energy did it cost us to create those bitcoins?
We can never know exactly, let's take the number from authors calculations and around $200 billion.
It’s a lot of money, but that is only about 2% of the US Federal budget for social security, or 3% of US Federal defense spending, or 4 presidential elections in the US.

No wonder mining is concentrated in places with excess electricity, like oil extraction sites or hydropower plants in China.
We do not want to waste scarce resources but no need for inventing myths and fairy tales around this subject.

5837  Other / Politics & Society / European Super League? on: October 29, 2020, 04:05:42 PM

The European Super League idea has been around for couple of years but never had much attention in public until Barcelona announced they accepted invitation.
This should be direct rival to UEFA Champions League and many claim that FIFA is behind this

It would include only the richest and most powerful clubs that wants to earn more money in closed style competition format.
FIFA supposed to be governing body, and it is expected that this league will have up to 18 teams.
It is planned that the European Super League should start in 2022 and main sponsor could be JP Morgan.

Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed Barcelona have accepted a proposal to join a future European Super League after announcing his resignation as the club's president:
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11833/12116238/barcelona-president-josep-maria-bartomeu-and-board-resign

We can see that Liverpool and Manchester United are also in talks for FIFA-backed tournament European Super League:
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12109174/european-premier-league-liverpool-and-manchester-united-in-talks-for-fifa-backed-tournament

This is the list of speculated clubs, without any official confimation:

1. England – Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea
2. Spain – Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid
3. Italy – Juventus, Milan, Internazionale
4. Germany – Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund
5. France – Paris Saint-Germain
6. Portugal – FC Porto
7. Netherlands – Ajax
8. Belgium – Anderlecht
9. Greece – Olympiacos
10. Turkey – Galatasaray
11. Russia – CSKA Moscow
12. Ukraine – Dynamo Kyiv
13. Sweden – IFK Göteborg

UEFA said that idea for European Super League is boring:
https://www.si.com/soccer/2020/10/20/uefa-reaction-european-super-league-proposal-fifa

Do you think this is good idea or it will only damage this sport and Champions League?

They probably have all customers phone numbers from ledger database hack that happened few months ago.

5840  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Android widget showing the BTC price? on: October 29, 2020, 09:14:53 AM
Hey guys, I'm looking for an app with widget showing the BTC price.
I was using Coinbase as i know the app is legit and it's a bit more safe to use. But the widget has a lot of issues almost all the time.
Now is has a loading error and i don't want it any more.
Any suggestions?

You may try this apps and see if you like any of them:

1. thecrypto.app
2. Bitcoin Ticker Widget
3. Simple Bitcoin Widget
4. Bitcoin Chart Widget

I personally mostly use Coingecko and Delta app and enable notifications for price changes, but they don't have widgets I think.
