5822  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [CampBX.com] Need Help to Get My $2364 back from CampBX.com on: April 25, 2012, 05:06:50 AM
Because I don't have an account on this forum so I post this thread with my friend's account. I lived in China.

I am not making a drama about my case but only looking for help. Please be patient and read my story below:

In the last year, for some reason which I am not proud of, I had this amount of money be stuck on Campbx. After a long time of communication till last month, they finally believed the money belongs to me. They asked me to provide a notarized translation ID and passport document for my account verification so they could release the money to my account.
As they asked, I provided my original photo of my ID, a notarized translation of my ID and the original photo of my passport to them. After a few days they told me my account is verified and then released the $2364 to my account on Campbx.com. On March 31th, they approved my withdraw request and ready to wire transfer the money to my bank account in China. But for some issue of themselves the transfer is delayed till yesterday. Yesterday they told me they are convinced my ID is faked. I told them I have no reason to fake my ID and there must be some misunderstanding but they told me my ID is a confirmed fake and they cannot help you anymore. So here I am asking your guys for help.

This is my argument:

1. For almost eight month of communication I finally see the end of my case, I never will take the risk of using a fake ID to ruin it.

2. It doesn't make sense that I provide a faked ID and a real passport. In China everyone has a ID but not everyone has a passport.

3. They already verified my account on March 9th, but all of a sudden they told me my ID is faked just before they are going to wire transfer the money to me. This doesn't seem to be right.

I don't know if Keyur will reply my mail anymore so I post my question here which I already sent to him by email:

1. Which document you believe is faked, the original ID photo, the translated ID?
2. Do you believe my passport photo is faked?
3. In what evidence you conformed my document is faked?

I really appreciated what Campbx did to help me get back my money but this result is not acceptable to me. Anybody have any idea what I should do to prove my ID is not faked?

Did they provide any proof that your ID is faked? Any indicators that made him believe that?

Not yet, last mail from Keyur said they cannot help you anymore, no reply and not answer my call since then.

That does sound unreasonable I guess as they should give you a chance to explain too. They seem to have a clean history, so let's see what Campbx has to say in defence...I would be apprehensive if they freeze client's funds for no reason at all.
You should probably move this thread to Trading Discussions subforum too as complaints usually go there.

I'm not exactly sure how hot is too hot but my rigs are in the basement and I have the temps set at 73 and the fans run about 2500 rpms the one asus fan runs around 3500 I tried lowering the volts but it wouldn't run much past stock clocks with anything other than 1.163 and one xfx that I even took apart and put some artic silver on still runs the fan at ~3500 funny how some cards that are identical run hotter or overclock better.
I would say around 80~ is hot. I ran mine at 85 for a month last time, that killed it outright.

I've just gotten into mining recently also and I'm getting around 370-390 MH/s on my 5850s depending on the overclock.

-GPU Core Clock:900-950
-Memory Clock:150
-Voltage:1.088 (I have 1 asus thats 1.163 yuck)
-Current MH/s:372@900 382@925 392@950
-Mining Program and version:cgminer 2.3.3
-Miners' Kernel:phatk
-Miners' Flags:I-9, Worksize-256, Vectors-2, Threads-2
-Operating System:win-7x64(sdk2.5), Ubuntu 11.04(sdk2.4) same results

This was what I did a couple months ago too. However the temps are far too high for my cards to bear, and I even RMA'ed one last month due to overheating.
5826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello and 5850 Variance? on: April 25, 2012, 03:03:16 AM
Thanks for the reply. Here's the info:

- GPU Core: 400 MHz
- Memory: 900 MHz
- Current MH/s: 300
- Mining Program: Pheonix 2.0
- Mining Kernal: phatk2
- worksize = 128, vectors4 = True, bfi_int = True, aggression = 13
- OS: Ubuntu 10.10

I haven't changed any clocks since I got the card - I've been waiting till I upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 due to catalyst software concerns (dependencies are out of whack and I don't want to invest the time fixing it when I'll be installing a new OS in a couple of days). For a stock 5850 with these settings, does 300 MH/s make sense?

I use 860 GPU core and 300 MHz memory to get approx 360~ mhs.  Worksize I use 256, everything else is the same. You may try cgminer too, I'm in the process of migrating my cards over too.

Morons...
Nuff' said...

How many family/friends have you lost to suicide? It sucks for everyone. I hope his family gets him the help he needs.

A good slap on the face... that's all the help he needs...

The ones falling for this troll post are the ones who need serious help.

In most forums, this would be disregarded. However, this forum brings an element of trust in ones <nick>.  Jon aka Atlas has been around long enough to know this.

So, if it was a troll. Yea. He got us all good but has lost all TRUST in his word.  It does not demean us to believe in him and him let us down; it demeans him.

Ironically this is a lose/lose proposition for him. For people that believed him, it is a win/win.

Obviously a hacked account would answer a lot of questions here. However, as someone pointed out, a simple check on IP's will probably confirm to within a 51% degree of certainty. This is a court of public opinion and as such standards are not so high.

IF the PD did do anything here, get a Bitcoin account and I'll donate 1 BTC towards a PR-24 to keep the crowds suppressed. You know your department needs money. Smiley

If I'm not wrong, Jon/Atlas uses TOR to visit this forum. (from other pics that he posted last time) How would we identify him in that case?
5830  Other / Off-topic / Re: In a few moments, I'll be dead. on: April 24, 2012, 01:14:11 AM
Does this mean he is changing names again. Is this the new method where he must does something outrageous? Does he think he is Dr. Who and will regenerate into a new avatar?

Hello, I am Emanuel Ortego. The Jon/Atlas screennames are not within my control.

5831  Other / Meta / Re: [Request] New "Potential Scammer" Tag on: April 24, 2012, 01:11:25 AM
After much thought, I believe that there is now a case for us having a potential scammer tag. In both the case of Shakaru and newdude, this would have saved several people from falling for the scams.

Justification:
Recently, there have been people that have taken advantage of the fact that if they promise to repay the people they scammed, we won't end up marking them as scammers for a few weeks, even though they otherwise qualify for a scammer tag. Adding a potential scammer tag (or maybe the wording should be "Under Review" or something) does not go against the board philosophy that the that the label is merely a warning and that it isn't supposed to be a punishment. However, unlike the scammer tag, it doesn't hold the high weight that people put on the scammer tag (people like pirate rightly trust that we only apply the scammer tag when we have absolute proof).

Proposal:
I propose that we have a potential scammer tag. The evidence required should remain the same as the scammer tag in that there must be evidence that a contract was broken. However, unlike the scammer tag, this tag should not consider the potential for the issue to be resolved. To put this in prospective, I wouldn't apply the tag until I got to the point where I would normally contact Theymos. For example, someone posting that a large exchange didn't send them their money wouldn't qualify that exchange for the tag, but several (trusted) people (or one person if they have overwhelming evidence) reporting the issue with documentation that they attempted to resolve the issue would. In the case of Shakaru, the point where he would have gotten the tag would have been when Freeway came in with evidence that Shakaru was lying to us, instead of Shakaru being finally fully marked as a scammer today.

If theymos thinks this is possible and acceptable, I also propose that Global Moderators be allowed to automatically apply this tag themselves, much like how we can whitelist people now. Remove the ability from anyone who abuses it.

Also, this tag should not be a permanent resolution. I propose that administrators (or even other Global Moderators, if technically possible) be able to remove the tag at the following times for the following reasons:
1) Immediately if they feel that the person does not deserve the tag at all (based on what I said above). Be sure to check for posts in the staff forum first, in case the issue was brought up to someone privately.
2) After one week, extendable to two by whoever is overseeing the case (which doesn't have to be a moderator, but they must be trusted). Only if the case has an expected resolution time after this time-frame can the tag be left longer than two weeks (i.e. the scammer admits that they broke the contract and they agree to compensate the person they scammed by a certain date or they otherwise have a repayment plan, either of which, of course, must be reasonable). For example, Shakaru would have had this tag from when Freeway showed up, until now. After the time period has elapsed, a final case resolution must be made. If the decisions of both the person overseeing the case and an administrator (which may be the same person) are that the scammer tag is justified, the tag will be applied. Otherwise, it will not. Of course, much like the scammer tag today, it can still be removed later by the discretion of an administrator if the scammer resolves the issue with the people they scammed. Nothing ever has to be final.

None of the above should happen automatically, but can be initiated by an appeal by anyone to whoever is capable of removing the tag, or even at the whim of whoever is capable of removing the tag.

Also, the same person can not be re-applied with this tag for the same issue after it has been removed. However, the scammer tag itself can still be applied after a final ruling that both the person overseeing the investigation and an administrator agree to. The only thing is that this proposed tag would not be applied to the person during the investigation, much like how it's done today.

Technical Effects:
This tag should have the same technical effects as the scammer tag (not being able to edit posts, etc.), except instead of red X's, maybe have yellow question marks.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think of this proposal.
+1, but instead of question marks, it should be caution signs.
Maybe those triangular caution signs would work I think. Placed in the regular ole' space as the X's live  Wink

hi there
alot of people wont trade with paypal because of the reversible payment crap so i thought i would share my method in order to get someone who reads this thread to trade with me, so lets begin
1) You will need 2 paypals a shit one and a full time one
2)give me the shit one and i will transfer the money into there
3)you then transfer the money into the good one
4)even if i decided i wanted the money back it remains in your good account, all that happens is that the shit one goes into minus balence

now im not saying im gonna want my money back. im just saying it will make you feel safer.
i have been around on this forum for a while and i would like to purchase up to 220 bitcoins, i can send half first and the second half afterwards
please reply or PM me if interested
thanks

5837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 350-375 khash/s on HD 7970 on: April 22, 2012, 11:26:10 AM
Hi,

I wanted to try this bitmining thing on my HD 7970 gpu, as I have never done any bitmining before I decided to use GUIMiner.
I created an OpenCL miner, and started mining, but I am only getting 350-375 khash/s, and everybody else is talking Mhash/s not khash/s.
So what could I be doing wrong?
Please keep in mind that I am a total noob at bitmining.

Best regards
msalf

Are you sure you selected the GPU not the CPU?

You'll need to provide extensive verification of yourself to even get this started. Much like a GLBSE verification process.

Well thanks for the information bud. At least I know what the hell is going on now. I thought I had lost the coin forever even tho there was nothing done wrong at all.
Even if the transaction never passes, the coins will be returned to the old addr for blockchain.info wallets.
