Just please don't fail to live up to the hype because this race is getting so much coverage! Have a good race everyone!
Well the race certainly had it share of controversy, so you probably got what you wanted. Not gonna comment the decision to drive one last lap after the safety car or that stragglers can get it front of it since I am not watching F1 ever and can't judge if it was fair.

This is my first post here, and last 2 laps were the only laps I saw in F1 in last couple of years so I am happy with the drama Smiley
My father in low was gutted, he is big Hamilton supporter so that added a bit more of fun to family lunch.

No idea if that's fair also, but every decision is controversial at this point, and generally from what I'm reading and hearing, there's no way this decision could be overturned (even if apparently this is the first time it has happened in so-and-so number of years). Mercedes sending complaints is just formality, I doubt Hamilton will even want to take this away from the Dutchman.

I'm like you. I don't really do F1 at all but because my son does (and he likes Verstappen but that's kinda duh for me haha) I occasionally see it on TV. I find a lot of similarities with the rulings and decisions actually, kinda like football. Accidents and "weird things" like today's safety car drama are not regular, but their occurrence is regular, and results stand no matter how unlucky it seems to be for drivers affected. I always quote to people: if a beach ball caused a goal in football to be scored, it still stands. And that's how I explain sporting rules.

Nice game, F1. Nice game.

Weird Leicester game for sure! I was playing a different system on a long many leg acca and took over 2.5 goals in this, didn't expect it all to come from one side, nor to all come relatively late in the game... and I've to say, Newcastle have themselves to blame for giving a cheap penalty to open the floodgates.

Still ended up losing the acca on the final leg -- Over 0.5 goals in Burnley-West Ham... only 1.15x to boost everything else but well, well, well, a scoreless game. Surprised to see some people got the exact score on this!

But yeah, so far a good week for all favourites, most of us should get close to max slam points on this week... pity about Spurs missed game though, that and the one before cost a slam point or two for those like hahay with many correct outcomes!

Got nothing riding on Everton but would be great to see them share points tonight... think the odds were slightly for the home team though.

Never seen markets for penalty wins too now that someone mentioned it, even Betbuilder doesn't have a penalty option, that would be really cool actually.
Lot of bookies have penalty in the game yes/no market. I think I asked here that Sportsbet includes it in their market book as well. It is a high odds market for yes and I used to take bets on that sometimes in the past. Especially on local derby games coupled with red card market as well.

Than if that bookie supports bet builder options and it is becoming an industry standard, you can easily build your penalty win bet.

I guess he means penalty wins since he's talking about BB, which was what happened in 4 games yesterday... I imagine it would have to be counting odds on "last to score" + "penalty" + "1x2 win" to get a rough odds outcome for a "win a game from penalty" odds. Bet special request on ClubTalk, slaman29, it worked for me once haha and I think there was at least one other time SB built a special just on request (that I was online to see).

Speaking of derby favourites, one market I used to take was red cards on derbies (Liverpool-United which most people don't really see as a derby but it technically is, or Liverpool-Everton with Gerrard and Carra was a great affair for this, if I look back)... today with a Super Boost you could take a sending off @3.76 on tonight's Madrid derby... feels like good value to me, so I put one down here for old time's sake.

Read a tiny rumour about Gavi linked to Liverpool but I hardly pay attention and I know Klopp always does stealth buys, plus Gavi already tied down recently.
yeah i don't see Gavi leaving any time soon. I think Gavi, Fati and Araujo are like the key players in Xavi's long-term plan in the club

Yeah, I've been a long time fan of Fati (not sure about Gavi, though his EURO performance was absolutely scintillating I have to admit I don't really know how well he plays in regular games) and I'd rather see these guys grow and generate the next era of glory for Barca. A club I've always admired.

You're right about Osasuna today, and if the odds were prettier, I'd take them on easy... but match already underway and odds don't look like they're plunging any time now... unless we see Barca play like shit (and this isn't the unlikeliest). Let's see!
5825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 12, 2021, 03:07:37 PM
In the near future Dybala will be signed by Liverpool to strengthen this team towards the premier league final but it looks like this still needs a decision process in management.
It's a twitch if it really happens. But where did you get this news? Can you include a reference link? I didn't even expect Dybala to be interested in Liverpol. Liverpol himself doesn't seem to need a striker anymore.

No disrespect to Dybala but he's nowhere close to a replacement for Salah. I've heard this rumour for a bit too, also Gavi but Bellingham is the one I feel is the likeliest -- but as I mentioned elsewhere, all Liverpool buys so far have been super stealth. Announced when no one expects, certainly the last few ones all took me by surprise.

Liverpool does need 2 strikers though, for good cover and replacements. All their main 3 are now at their peak, and possibly wonderful for many more years but we still need to think of the future. Jota's pretty good Firmino replacement but we don't have a like-for-like for Salah and Mane. Origi and Mina don't look up to our high standards for regular football (yet).

Damn rdbase man. The day we all decide Nunes doesn't know how to lose, she does.

To be fair, the 8/1 odds weren't THAT insurmountable either. I kind of wish I'd accepted an offer to put money into my MMA betting "account", cause I'd have put a tenner (knowing the way I throw my money away there).

Round 2 submission too, that must have been some kind of odds for a R2? Is she going to lose featherweight next?
5827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +76028 units on: December 12, 2021, 01:35:51 PM
Leeds actually took the lead, and Chelsea needed TWO penalties to make it out of this alive. That's 3 games in a row now they've let in more than goal when they had the stingiest defence in all of England. Boat's a-rocking, Tuchel -D

Anyway, @dittoup has a massive pick which I'm absolutely following in Scandi football. A rare handicap pick but I can't ignore over 20/1 odds for the final game of the season for Sarpsborg to just finish this Eliteserien season on a high.

100 units at Sportsbet on Sarpsborg (1:0) to WIN against Brann @20.80. Other odds: 20.
Units advantage: 80

Running advantage after 86 bets: +10364 (+80)
All-time cumulative: +77,732
Running units after 85 bets (11W|74L): +2921 (-100)

The last time this happened was 47 years ago. If both riders leave the track (and this will be a legal incident) Verstappen will become champions as he has more victories. There is a great temptation on his part to make such an accident and become a champion, but the FIA has already warned that in this case (if the incident is deliberate), he will be penalized for points..

Yeah, my son (who's the one more interested in F1 than I am) keeps insisting this will be the outcome, but I've told him you can't do that in the sport. Even the other outcome (a teammate to take out the other car, or even another team to do so) would draw a huge investigation and any hint of deliberate intent will result in penalties -- essentially giving the title away.

I don't particularly like either guy but I'm sure they'd both like to win this fair and square.

Just please don't fail to live up to the hype because this race is getting so much coverage! Have a good race everyone!

Great points OP, some I've touched on myself on past threads. I do agree: the rights to privacy, and anonymity, must be respected, and must be possible. So Bitcoin's recent technology and most recent upgrade is in this direction, as it has been for the past 3 years since the scalability debate settled.

But for my personal use, because:
- I am a freelancer with some clients who couldn't work without my identity
- I am a taxpayer who does want to serve my social dues

These and other reasons that fit my situation and circumstance require me to not be anonymous at exchanges, with my home tax jurisdiction.

Nice going all of you on the daily Christmas/Advent prizes. I haven't really had time to go through them though I suppose most of them would be too difficult for me to manage with work and limited time (not to mention limited bankroll haha).

Just to share, out of curiosity I played Lightning Dice for 3 days now to fulfill my Live Casino requirements and it's been hugely profitable! Three days in a row hit large multipliers (x10 on low and high and then x100 on a single number). So meeting the requirements in just a few minutes and walking away with about 7 mbtc in profit all in all, I actually brought myself very close to break even on my Live Casino journey (I still am in about 5 mbtc loss overall now minus all the bonuses). So yeah, definitely looking forward to 31 Dec and recouping losses AND enjoying a nice +EV haha.
5831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 11, 2021, 08:05:30 PM
I'm finally in the prize spots range again, and it seems I'll end with the yellow cap for the round, a round which all my picks were made without any prior research I just went with my guts and followed the team recent form as being shown in the SuperBRU prediction page. I don't know how often that'd work, but It would be worth trying for me again 😊
Good work, keep to what is working for you. I change my strategies depending on the leagues and my knowledge about each of them. I pick all the games in Premier League and Champions League by gut, while I look for stats on clashes between bottom teams in La Liga and Serie A when I have time. Works ok for me in the long run, only problem I have is terrible luck with correct scores. Seems to me I usually get a more than average close scores but loose big on correct ones. Don't know how to correct that, telling myself it is just luck Smiley

Nice job man! Agree with Trofo, mix and stick with a strategy that works. Premier League I don't refer to much at all as I follow every match day, and am fairly confident of my picks (except when it's midtable or bottom of league clashes, then I do tend to stick with form).

I'm not super familiar with this league but yeah, I generally put my picks on form, and that's worked a total treat in Serie A so far (though of course for the draws like today's Venezia effort impossible to predict).

Regards to scoring, that's also a form thing for me (although I have been wrong to keep predicting Chelsea running out of steam they just find ways to score so many each game) -- same goes for all top 4 teams in Serie A, knocking goals in for fun, so I don't like putting 1 or 2 on the heavy offence. That's total luck though I have to agree (who can say for example last week Venezia scores 3 when in 15 games before that only could score 12???).
5832  Economy / Speculation / Re: I know you have all been waiting in anticipation of on update.... on: December 11, 2021, 07:29:37 PM
Simple question for me: Until the 1150 retest, which next ATH this year (!) or next would force you to redraw some lines or adjust your positioning for the mid-term? Given that you think $92k is still possible, which price is not?
A 1,150 RESTEST? DOLLARS? Call me dumbfounded. I knew it was the right decision not to read the bullshit in the OP. Didn’t sgbett and proudhon always claim “Science”? Understandable, flat-Earthers compute simple math differently from regular Earthlings.

I definitely don't think it's possible but it doesn't make me less interested to understand how an unexpected ATH (for them) would work out to their end. He thinks 1150 and 92k are both possible, so it should at least make for some wild theories, which hey, is what we're sometimes here for no?

The science of speculation's pretty special to me heh.
5833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 11, 2021, 06:17:19 PM
Didn't realise I'd took yellow cap last round, but still some distance to get to the top. I'm really enjoying the season everywhere so far, but we're not even at halfway mark yet so plenty of fights and games left this month alone.

So, Barca fans, looks like the club is ready to accept offers for Ter Stegen, Frankie de Dong and Dest
=
I could see De Jong going to the EPL or maybe Bayern. I'm not sure about Dest, prolly a mid table club in the PL would be a good place for him, same with Ter Stegen who's been awful for the past 2 or 3 years

Yeah I've not been convinced about the keeper for a while but I actually think guys like de Jong have been really underperforming, and as a result a lot of the burden's been on their young guys.

Read a tiny rumour about Gavi linked to Liverpool but I hardly pay attention and I know Klopp always does stealth buys, plus Gavi already tied down recently.

Wow Arsenal, thanks for holding still for the last 15 mins... and then getting a corner in 94th minute to give us a 22 bust haha... 21 was hit on 82nd minute, and then I thought, yeah, for sure, this has to be a bust. But neither side did anything much, at least not according to stats. Switched over as soon as Liverpool's game closed out and saw the corner awarded.

Close but no banana, unfortunately. What a game that must have been...

Yup, got it and used it immediately. I am not as patient as you to take the game that is not played this evening though Smiley My choice went to Brentford - Watford and I picked something like:
-both to score & over 2.5 goals
-Dennis to score
-over 2.5 corners each half
-over 9.5 booking points each team
Odds @6.75

Damn man, that was a good pick, too bad Watford couldn't even get a yellow or you'd be in the black for this one!

Mine already down the drain anyway after a scoreless first half, and it was a shame since many bits of this already hit in the first half. Too much for me to expect goals in every game, the wet slippery pitch not helping our game:

@JimmyTheIrishman: Betbuilder working out for you? Leeds took the lead from a penalty, which I hoped stupidly would hold as I've got them on an outright haha.
5836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool Discussion thread on: December 11, 2021, 02:57:15 PM
Atalanta almost made comeback, but scored two goals, and that was it
interesting match, it could go to draw in the end, but that would also send Villareal to next round, and Atalanta to Europa league

two Spanish teams are out after group stage, Barca and Sevilla will continue to Europa league, and Sevilla is having more chances there

Shame, it's not that I think Villareal suck that badly, but they're going to be the Porto of seasons past in the last 16... a free pass to the QFs for whomever meets them. Happy to have them prove me wrong, unless they meet Liverpool heh.

It's crazy to see that no one even from the pool gave Villarreal a chance , and it's been a complete massacre.

3 unanswered goals and there's still over 30 minutes to play, I would have anticipated a draw to be the worse too, but it's been an entirely different outcome, a goal now from Atalanta would at least settle my BTTS bet.

Well they got their answer in the second half, but I can't see them getting so lucky again. I'm still a tiny bit upset Atalanta didn't go through, but at least they get quite a bit of quality joining them in Europa hmm?
5837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +76028 units on: December 11, 2021, 01:34:46 PM
Terrible of me not to have updated here in a while but it's been a really difficult period of being busy with work and not really having time to hunt  for good odds. Wolves against City would have been my pick but the game's already underway 0-0 at HT with Wolves a man down from their biggest goal threat being sent off (ouch).

No time to add a betslip here but my pick today is Leeds to take advantage of Chelsea shakiness in defence.

100 units at Sportsbet on Leeds to WIN vs Chelsea @11.30. Other odds: 10.80
Units advantage: 50

Running advantage after 85 bets: +10284 (+50)

I realise how silly even I sound trying to make sense of where we're going Wink
You do not sound silly at all, that is exactly how it is looking right now. We are looking like we do not have enough volume to make a decision on which direction it will be going and that is 100% true.

Yeah, it's one of two things I "rely" on when weighing in on the confidence of my predictions. And every time we see such thin trading volumes, can't help but think the bears/bulls are waiting in the wings. Used to feel that weekends are when they let the dogs of war out but as we can see today...

A good way to judge this would be the area between the 50 day descending and the 200 day average underlying the lows.    When the two become far closer we are invariably going to get a break out of price action, till then a range is likely to establish.

This being the other thing for me: 200MA. It hasn't always done as expected this year but I generally expect support around it or a strong bounce if broken -- in a rally anyway.
5839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread on: December 11, 2021, 12:13:22 PM
Indeed LTU. Just read about it myself this Big update on the Spurs game. A bit of bad luck for Spurs but also now other teams will be stricter in this holiday period.

If not for snow against burnley... Anyway yeah, no possibility to reschedule the game, meaning that the disciplinary body will now determine a result without the game being played.

Although that has yet to be decided, the norm is for the responsible team to be penalised with a 3-0 loss... Rennes might have been more flexible but apparently Spurs did not talk to them early. Lesson for all teams I guess...

So if this is the case, then Spurs will take the loss and exit this competition. Tough! But hey, maybe Conte will be relieved.
5840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 11, 2021, 11:24:44 AM
Brentford with the complete comeback to steal the show, I felt this was going to be an easy win for Brentford but Watford almost earned point, not sure if it would have been deserved though.

1.5 points kickstart the game week isn't bad at all, especially since it had to come at the very brink of the game.

Yeah this was a total Hail Mary comeback to get me an exact score too. I really don't like putting 2-1 scores for these tight games but they seem to be the right way to go... Though a penalty in last minute of injury time is a true gift. Ranieri will be pretty frustrated by that.

Out today till evening so will miss the early games. Hope Wolves do us a favour and steal points, also hope Chelsea continue to leak goals... But we have our own job to do dispatching the Villains.

Cold weather play. Great for gegenpress haha.
