5821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 17, 2021, 06:31:10 PM
^^ I doubt that it will break into the top 5 much less in the top 10.

Probably around 400-600 thousand buys might be a good estimates at a stretch. Pre-pandemic, it might broke 1 million, and so far I haven't seen any reports of fight in 2021 that generated over 500k, Canelo Alvarez, the current cash cow, have sold 300k vs Smith.
They still have one month and days to sell this fight, I guess the PPV will be high and probably higher than Alvarez vs Smith as these two are champions and we know they are popular boxers especially Manny who is a legend. If they can at least sell 1 million PPV, that would be a huge income already for the two and Manny will not regret taking only the $5 million purse on this fight.

Even the live gate tickets is not yet sold out.

Where to monitor the status of this one?

Yes, that's why I pegged it around 400k ppv buy, more than Canelo's fight for this year.

You can go here: https://www.axs.com/events/406214/pacquiao-vs-spence-tickets?skin=tmobile

Tickets are still available for this fight. Although some of the tickets that are not yet sold are in the range of $1k going up to $6k, and it's resell, that's why it is very expensive for some.
5822  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will be the lowest price of bitcoin from June to December 2021 on: July 17, 2021, 05:55:03 PM
If my memory serves me right, $28k is the the bottom that we've seen. So I would say for now that will be the price and I doubt that we will go down to $25k.

We are in the period of consolidation, and usually around this cycle, the price are not going down so hard or any flash crash. It's just it will go on a sideway patterns for quite a long time. Before eventually break out runs to $40k-$50k. A lot of positive things can still happen this year, so I'm still optimistic, we just have to be a little patience.
5823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Charlo vs Castano - July 17 on: July 17, 2021, 05:15:36 PM
Here is the final weigh-in:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OI1S4IgJqHw

Brian Castano is from Argentina and you can see that he will supported by the Argentinian community.

Both camps are in a heated argument, but the fighters looks very calm and relax. There will be fireworks in this fight and don't sleep on it.
5824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 16, 2021, 10:14:06 PM

What Suns need is a good ball movement, their defense is just alright but if they can't move the ball well, they'll have a problem with their offense.
Look at game 4, Booker did everything to win but they still fall short because they were not getting good contribution from his teammates.

If Suns will get at least double-digit scores from Bridges, Paul, and Crowder, I think they'll increase their chance.

Just like how Bucks lose their 2 early games, Giannis is doing everything but his teammates didn't jive well and produce good numbers for the team, Booker tried to carry Suns in game 4 but like what you observed there's none from his teammates to back him up.

This coming game 5, Suns needs to bring back the teamworks that send them to this finals, they need to work together to win the game.

Double digits from their first line and also let Ayton to contribute not only for his rebounds but also with his offense.

I guess we won't be able to see the same scenario that happened in game 1 and 2 because the Bucks had already adjusted. I have a feeling that it will be a close game and though I still believe the Suns will win but I will not be surprised if the Bucks will be victorious this time. CP3 is now on the verge of his career again that he would feel the championship will slip into him, so it's a very exciting game.

I really don't believe the Bucks has adjusted properly because they've won both Game 3 and 4, They Suns seemed to have been caught off their guard in game 3 but the 4th game was a completely different game as it was almost Suns winning it, and I'm convinced they'd have won the game if it were to be in the Suns home court.

I'm rooting for the Bucks as well, but this will be have to be their biggest test, and they'll have to do it the hard way if they're to win the finals.

The same thing can be said in games 1 and 2, the Bucks could have at least won 1 game, if not for Giannis missed free throws and allowing the Suns to build any early lead and them trying to close the gap and chase them.

And so as the series progress, something has to give, whether maintain the home court and hold or a win by the road team. So the next game will be critical and it's really hard to predict who will win, except that if we follow the home court advantage it might hold true again and see Phoenix winning game 5.

But since we have seen how good Giannis in this series, not just offensively, but his defense (that block), it might came down to wire to wire finish again.

5826  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin and GBTC premium on: July 15, 2021, 06:25:27 PM
GBTC is currently trading at a 20% discount to NAV. From an institutional fund manager's perspective, seems like they can take advantage of this by:
- Sell 1 BTC at spot price
- Buy 1.2 BTC worth of GBTC shares at the discounted price

This would put downward pressure on BTC price due to sell pressure on spot.

Does that mean we are unlikely to see a bitcoin recovery until GBTC premium goes above 0%?

I don't think it work that way, whales or institutions who bought GBTC and locked in for 6 months has it on premium price already. So there's no such thing as a discounted price here.

On the contrary, they can lose profits if they try to arbitrage it as the current price. So better not to sell it and wait for the right or shall I say ripe situation to sell it at spot.
5827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 15, 2021, 05:52:38 PM
Bucks just destroyed Suns in the last game and finally got their first win in the series. Giannis didn't surprise me by scoring 40+ points again. Holiday and Middleton were also a little better in this game. But there wasn't even single person who managed to score 20+ points at Suns. That also made the difference.

Tonight, we're going to see the 4th game in Milwaukee again. And I expect another win for Bucks and Giannis to score at least 35 points.

Same here, I expect for the series to be tied with the Bucks win, well, if Giannis will score 35 points or even less, I'm okay with that as long as Holiday and Middleton will step up and both of them will score at least 20 points. But wait, what if Lopez will again score 30 points? that would be nice, right?

I'd like to see Middleton though taking charge of the offense and not put it all on Giannis shoulder. Giannis can only do that much, but Middleton as the second scoring options should be the one scoring 30+ points. Holiday already provided the offense on game 3. Now it's time for Middleton to carry the load again just like what he did against the Hawks and the Nets series.

As I have said, Khris Middleton are going to explode this game and boy he did as he save the Bucks from a supposedly 1-3 and it could be over in the next game. Middleton scores 40 points and that block of Giannis was huge as the Phoenix could have tie the score. It was a perfect pass from Booker, but Giannis use his length to block it.

Now it's time for the Suns to make the adjustments in game 5. Giannis is unstoppable, he is average like 30+ points in this series. Suns pick and roll is no longer effective, not sure what kind of adjustments they have to make, but it's now on the hands of Paul and Booker to respond.
5828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the implications of Hal being Satoshi? on: July 15, 2021, 05:18:33 PM
Following onto: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5349129.0 , but a more specific question:

What are the implications of Hal Finney being Satoshi Nakamoto?

- But first, why think Hal was SN?

Hal started as one of the first bitcoin miners, and certainly the first known individual to interact with SN. His posts were always as informative as Satoshi's. He had to quit work due to ALS in 2011, the same time that Satoshi quit. He knew he had ALS for several years before. He had the knowledge to program these things. That sort of knowledge would possibly give a person a not-give-a-shit attitude about their own life, mining for the 'good of humanity', and perhaps set aside some for their own family.

This doesn't proved anything, it just so happened that someone has to mine bitcoin and Hal did it.

Hal fit the sleep profile of SN. Hal lived downstreet from Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto. It isn't too strange to consider that Hal would consider putting false clues out. SN was a pseudonym, so bitcoin started with that deceit.

Dorian Nakamoto? Perhaps it was jus coincidence that Hal and Dorian Nakamoto lived close together. And it's pretty much normal, it's California, many tech companies are around that place.

Hal was a classic 'cypherpunk' and idealist who would change the world. After all, Hal froze his body in the belief that some future technology might be able to restore his life or read his brain. Perhaps that was his way of allowing people to question him in the future? He could have hid it very well. There are not technologies that I am aware of that can restore data on drives that have been wiped several times over, so perhaps he relied more on a brain scan for future proof..

And probably that's where they met each other in the cyber punk mailing list, and then correspondence and mutual respect.

I know Satoshi's story is very interesting to dig and analyse. But we can't find a proof that Hal Finney is Satoshi Nakamoto.

I've added a poll already, so fire on:

Other betting options are now available on sportsbet, like Winner & exact rounds and Winner & round range.

I'm predicting the fight will not go to distance, 10 rounds or less, Charlo by KO/TKO.

That odds of Lopez scoring 30+ points in game 4 is going to be huge help for the Bucks. In any case anyone is interested on players prop bet on Lopez.

Over 10.5 points = 1.80
Under 10.5 points = 1.97

Pakiramdaman ko muna first quarter, but hindi kasi umaabot ng 30 points ang first quarter ng isang team, parang ang hirap habulin ang over na. At tiyak mahigpit ang depensa sa game 4. Abang abang na lang sa live betting.
5833  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing]: Charlo vs Castano - July 17 on: July 12, 2021, 11:53:15 PM
We have another good fight this weekend between Jermell Charlo And Brian Castano for Charlo's undisputed 154 lbs.

Charlo is the favourite obviously, as he is the more power puncher between the two. at 1.41 and Castano as the underdog 2.70. But we don't have other options, I'm looking at Charlo to win by TKO around 7+ rounds. We might see a knock out in the process and then Charlo going for the kill.

The Charlo brothers are really making a name for themselves in the 154-160 division.

His identical brother, Jermall won last month if I'm not mistaken at 160 lbs and his name keeps popping up as possible for GGG or even Canelo (if he chooses to go up to 168 lbs).

So if you are a boxing fans, I'm sure you have heard about the Charlo brothers and you shouldn't miss this fight.

Pero this time baka close ang laro walang tambakan.
5836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: July 11, 2021, 11:22:49 PM
Damn! That's some win man, congratulations.
Thanks bro.
I don't believe it will be a sweep so I'm trusting the Bucks to get this win now. Feeling the enemy and studying their strategy is over. A must win.
I think that is also the reason why they are the favorites for tomorrow. A 3-0 should not happen for it will be the end of the series.
Bucks -4.5

It’s definitely back against the wall time for the Bucks. With Giannis getting a couple days to rest his knee and then back on their home court, it seems like this is their best opportunity to win a game. The Suns are going to come out looking to finish them off. We all know if they fall down 3-0 there’s little (no) chance of them winning the series.

Right, and usually when teams are in a must-win situation, they deliver. Less than an hour, I already put my bets on the Bucks to cover the spread. I think they can win this game and Giannis and Middleton will score 30+ each. His knee is well rested, should be good to see Giannis having a good bounce and penetrate the basket and getting offensive rebounds here.
5837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 11, 2021, 10:56:21 PM
Lopez should guard Ayton, with those long arms, he show it in, brooklyn, suns is less so he could be more effective i think.

They seemed to found a way to limit Ayton, but they can't minimize the production of Booker and Paul which are the main players for their offense. If Paul can't make 20 points, he can make 10 assists, so that would still be converted to points, minimize Paul's production in both ends and Bucks will win.

Yes, they have clamped down on Ayton on the last game, when Ayton got the ball inside, he was always double team that's why he missed his shots. But CP3 is the key here for the Bucks, if they want to win, they should start on checking CP3, specially by Jrue Holiday. Fight for the picks, play physical on him to make Paul uncomfortable. Otherwise, he can dominate the game because he is a cerebral player and usually makes the right decision every time.
5838  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: July 11, 2021, 10:36:33 PM

I don't know parang lamang parin ang Suns sa +4.5 spread eh hahaha.

Baka nga mag over pa to 221.5 ulit.

Goodluck.

They have added another Freddie Roach trained Filipino in the undercard:

Mark Magsayo vs Julio Ceja.

This is a step up for Mark Magsayo as he is fighting a former champion in this division.

https://www.boxingscene.com/mark-magsayo-vs-julio-ceja-set-spence-pacquiao-undercard-august-21--158886

The ticket price ranges from $105.00-$2,505.00.

Obviously, I can't buy the tickets, but I was looking if it's been sold out or not.
5840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 03, 2021, 11:19:33 AM

The absence of Giannis is a good motivation for the Bucks that they need to step up and adjust. Even with Trae Young probably will play on Game 6, I'm sure the Bucks will now seal the series and take the Eastern Conference Champion.
It's true and I wish that confidence never fades away. They have good roleplayers, they just need minutes to prove it.
Portis did for the Bucks, Cam Reddish for the Hawks.

I think Reddish just showed up in the ECF, I've no heard of him in the early rounds of the Hawks battle, but his guy is doing great on both offense and defense. This hawks has a great future, they are compose of a young team and yet they have already exceeded our expectation.

If I'm not mistaken, it was Cam Reddish play off game and the kid surpasses all expectations. He did score and play good defense too. He is athletic, so for sure he has a bright future and hopefully they developed him to be the next generation of players.

And with that said, I will go with the Hawks to cover the spread, still very good odds in my opinion.
