People, please. I can only spare few moments recently and come to read pages and pages with rant and FUD about how Diamond will fail next month.

Let me tell you, why this is noise.

1. POW is not going anywhere. Diamond will continue to be an POW/PoS hybrid for many years. Repeat: POW *will* continue to function for Diamond after we reach a million coins. Why someone thinks something else is beyond me. Read the code, if you can't understand the coin spec ;-)

2. I spent quite a lot of time last year to analyse and together with other Diamond team members adjust the PoS mechanics. Unlike other coins that have PoS< Diamond uses more of the technology that is powering this coin production process. I often say that it was my fault to make some running too conservative, but this *only* matters if you want to see results quick, now! -- Diamond is otherwise designed with very long term stability in mind.

3. When you leave a Diamond wallet stacking, it will regulate the coin piles be 20-120 DMD in size (gross estimate). This size guarantees that your wallet will stake frequently enough, not too quickly and not too slow, so you have steady flow of both PoS blocks and reward.

I have not yet implemented automatic coin control. My hope was to do this by autumn last year, but some "real life" issues have kept me away from coding. The design objective is very clear and obvious, it just needs a bit of time. The current automatic coin selection is not optimal, especially in edge cases, such as very different coin pile sizes (but see 3 above). In general, it is advised you keep separate wallets for staking and transactions.

It is irrelevant how big the coin pile is. Reward is always calculated (coins * age * interest) and in the long run you will get essentially the same amounts. You might achieve a bit bigger income by keeping the pile size large, in order to stake more frequently and benefit from the compound interest. But this is true only in theory, because PoS *is* random and the chances to stake an 1000 DMD pile is not so much larger than the chances to stake an 100 DMD pile. Obviously, it *is* noticeably larger than the chances to stake an 1 or 0.1 DMD pile.

Further, the more transactions you do, the more you bloat your wallet (this is another area where new code is needed) and respectively slow down PoS.

My advice is to leave the staking wallet alone. There are other things in life one can spend time, than grouping coin piles with Coin Control. Smiley

+1 big time. Especially the last sentence.

Did you just threaten DMD Utahjohn?

Really you gonna attack him, when the danger is to your coin and lack of POW support,
Really need to focus on your real problems.
Trying to Diffuse the argument instead of discussing the real security issues in April.

Thank you. Noted. Now go troll some other thread. I ll keep on buying.

Question!
Example: I have 1000DMD in my wallet witch are staking because they have more than 7 days there. After that I put another 1000DMD in my wallet, they will need 7 days to get matured and start staking. 2 days after the second 1000DMD arrived I want to send 500DMD somewhere. So I will have 1500DMD in my wallet. 1000DMD matured and 500DMD not ? Or ? Its interesting from witch coins my wallet will send.
Use coin-control feature in wallet, u can select less mature coins to send so u lose less coin-age

mitache365 asked an interesting question.
I think that the wallet itself should choose when sending the newest coin.
The user should not lose income Pos. I'm new here, but judging by previous statements utahjohn he can not be trusted.
Perhaps we should wait for an expert.

Howdy Alisher (and mitache too)

Well, in this case he is actually correct. You can activate coin control in your wallet and then choose which coins to send. It can be very useful so utah was right this time. That doesn't mean you should trust him in other matters though.... Wink

Also waiting for an expert to answer if this coin selection you suggest can be easily automated or not. On the other hand I prefer the freedom of choice Grin

Hey guys,

according to my experience, the wallet performs coins selection quite fine by itself. It s a great wallet after all. Smiley)

What the wallet does is selecting the least mature and the newest pile from which to send coins so the actual maturity loss is minimal. Alternatively, you can turn on coin selection as Utahjohn suggest and do it manually if you are a bit more experienced and you like to play with your coins.

However, there is another issue to be aware of. If you have a pile of coins, not the total amount of coins but the pile inside your DMD address, and this pile contains 1000 DMD which are 2 weeks old for example and you decide to send 500 DMD from that pile, the result is that the entire pile loses its maturity and starts aging from 0 again. So, if you use coin control, always try to select the pile which matches the amount you want to send as close as possible.

I hope this helps.

Good move. Maybe I can help a bit. if you need promotional animated banners or signs, for starters, you can use simple options for example:

or plain text

font style and design can be anything, as well as the text itself. This is just an example.
I thought you cant use pictures as signatures?
You can only use BBCode

Correct, Bitcointalk allows only BBcode.

Ok all asics are now pointed at (1N3TNyPUGUtvk6KD3Gy6WdS8e9P6PmYzPg) - I make about .013 BTC per day and will keep them there until we hit the goal.  Please let me know once we reach the goal so I can go back to Cloudmining  Grin

That s a really a remarkable move. I salute you Pokeytex!!
DMD s really got small but astonishing community.

5852  Economy / Services / Signature Design Contest - [DMD] Diamond coin - 0.15 BTC on: February 25, 2015, 08:57:08 AM
Hi everyone,

We have decided to start a signature contest for [DMD] Diamond coin - http://bit.diamonds/

We are looking at signatures for - Hero & Legendary, Senior Members, Full members, Members and JR. Members.

The signature needs to contain the following:

1) the largest font, the word "[DMD] Diamond" and it should link to the Diamond home page - http://bit.diamonds/

2) the word "Diamond Multipool/Cloudmining" - links to Diamond Multipool and Cloudmining page - https://multipool.bit.diamonds/

3) the word "Diamond Bitcointalk Thread - links to BT thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.0

4) the word "Diamond 6 monts chart - links to this - http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/pair/dmd/btc/cryptsy/6-months

If you could squeze in "scarce, fast and secure" somewhere in the signature, it would be great.
The rest is up to designer and his/hers vision.

The contest will last for 1 week and it will end on Wednesday, March 4th 2015 at 10 AM forum time.

Winner will receive 0.15 BTC into their wallet as soon as the competition ends. You can take a screenshot of the sig and post it here but you must present bbcode before payment. We can do Escrow, no problem.

Best of Luck everyone and we hope to see some great results!

P.S. Let me also take this opportunity to encourage everyone to take a look at [DMD] Diamond coin, most of the info you can find via BT Thread As you can see, the price has been rising almost constantly for the past 6 months, the dev team s very devoted and constantly improving the coin. Currently, the coin provides POW and annual 50% POS and one of the most interesting aspects is that POW reward s going to be reduced 90% in mid April which ll significantly reduce supply. Guess what happens to the price? Smiley

Also there a very interesting Cloud Mining option available which pays out in Diamond coin.

Just curious.  About a week or two ago I mentioned if anyone looked into adding masternodes or instant x to DMD?  What is everyone's thoughts on that?  I think a masternode might be a great way to decentralize the coin more and also create lot's of demand on the coin.  The coin will be even more rare.  It doesn't have to take a lot of DMD to run a mn.  Say 250 to activate one.  But this will allow us to help decentralize the network.  We could do either a wallet based MN like Spreadcoins or a vpn based mn like Darkcoins?  Any thoughts as to why or why not this would or wouldn't work?  Do we have the programmers able to implement this?  Just food for thought.

Seems like a really great idea if implemented the right way. I strongly disagree with what Charlie Lee said for Litecoin, that LTC does not need new fancy gimmicks. Look at where LTC is now.

Each and every project, including DMD, need constant improvement and innovations which make it stand out from other similar projects. I feel DMD has already got a bunch of nice traits but that does not mean we cannot introduce more and make it even more attractive.

Introducing nodes would at one side generate additional demand for the coin to set up a node, thus making it even more rare and consequently pushing the price up. On the other hand, it would bring profit to the node owner. I would only raise the limit for the node, maybe to at least 500 coins per node. That s under $100 and I think it would be acceptable for everyone.

Agreed.  I just threw out an arbitrary number.  The reason I bring it up is that anyone with longevity mindset can open a masternode and invest long term in addition to the POS staking wallet.  If someone wants to rent a VPN they are going to be more committed to the success of the coin.  It will give a short term and long term investor multiple ways into DMD.  And I believe we would be the first POW, POS, MN wallet?  Correct me if I am wrong.  Liquidity would come in daily POS and MN payments.  I am also sure that with the cloudmining buy pressure the value of DMD would go nuts.

Having POW, POS and MN wallet at the same time would definitely bring attention of the press. I would put that among top DMD priorities. Let us know what community can do to help.

where are the chinese fpga miners when u need them

please throw ur dmd on market and dump for some nice profit
what do you need?
need more hashrate to security the blckchain?
or need more coins to dump?

sellorderbook was dry
its a bit better today
but still not  thick enough to protect longer from a pump

up to 0.00100 there are only 4000 dmd in sellorderbook

why not drive to 0.001 and stay above the price ?

Personally I would like more people take advantage of this still relatively low price and get as much DMD as possible. This is why I do not like these pumps but these days even trying to buy 300 coins can cause a pump. Once we reach mid April, there will be no more cheap coins.

Soo.. main update so far is that we have some text back that was removed a couple of weeks ago? Good stuff. Next update will be affiliate scheme starting back up  Roll Eyes

Would be sweet if he bring back the sales i would like to buy some shares. /s

I read it somewhere in litecointalk that he wont be selling anything anymore. so either he pay what he owed or he run away with everyone's coins, there is only two choices for him left as people wont buy anything even if he sell somethings at the store

He's currently just buying time, trying to make it look as if his business just failed or to "deflect criminal and civil liability" as proposed by GreenTeaFloat over at litecointalk.
Make no mistake, his intention is to steal the money and walk away scot-free. He just didn't count on the fact that people know who he is and where he lives and, unlike the Bee-lievers, aren't going to let him get away with it or entertain his bs.

Part of me thinks the staff over at litecointalk have somewhat some truthful knowledge of whats going on. I have not seen one of them slate Litecoin Gear, they allow beekeeper to pass messages through, use their forum to conduct his business without any restrictions, bans, moderated posts. Its a fucking joke. Personally I will be holding them responsible also.

I think there is more involvement with the moderators over on Litecointalk than they are letting on.  Angry

I dont agree putting the rest of the Litecointalk mods with Sukarti.

So can anyone tell me what changed during this maintenance?

Why do you ask question you know answer to? Nothing changed, just another BS of Chris.

This is again unfair to regular miners Huh
IRL many can not afford to invest large $.  I started in DMD with V1 before staking even worked Smiley
De-centralization is key to popularity and I will not subscribe to a central bank.  Even if my coins take several weeks to stake they will be in my personal wallet, however I think reactor has broken that by having high stake-weight which is unfair to ALL who do not join.

Sounds like the Smith's marketplace spiel cashiers spew about "devilmart" LOL

How is this unfair to anyone? It s as if you have 1 S5 miner and mine with it and I come and purchase 5 S5 miners and mine more then you do.
Then you come to me and tell me it s not fair. It would be unfair if the reactor would not be open to everyone here or if there would be any kind of selection between DMD users and supporters.

Whatever funds you people have available, you can easily calculate and decide where to invest them and what to purchase. You chose not to go with the reactor and instead mine with your own gear, that s fine by me. I used to have 23 GPUs in 7 rigs, mostly 280x, 270x and 7950. It was fun at certain points but all in all it was full time work managing those. I am much more happy with cloud mining.

5858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | NEW wallet, 50% POS Active on: February 21, 2015, 08:25:10 AM
Over 1k staked coins inside the reactor. I hope now people see this reactor project is an excellent idea which s already started generating results.
I strongly suggest people contribute to the reactor and buy cloud mining shares. Once we reach block reward reduction, the coins from DMD cloud as well as from the reactor are going to be very, very, valuable source of income.
I have not even looked yet but so far what I see is yet another method of centralization which is bad (WTF are u a banker ROFL), for me I am seeing much longer periods between staking in personal wallet.

Hehe, as a matter of fact I am a banker in RL. Smiley))

I think you miss a big picture. Some time in mid April, when the block payout gets reduces to 0.1, dividends from the reactor will not be affected cause they do not come from mining but from staking.
This is going to be a great source of additional income for people involved into it. Not to mention that 70% of staked coins get disbursed to cloud mining shareholders while 30% remains in the reactor which additionally increase the amount of coins in the reactor as well as future staked amounts.

Perpetum mobile, the best kind of deal.

I'd have to say yes I am greedy and want to own as many DMD as I can, but the time is coming where we must go mainstream with DMD, sure there are a few of us who have accumulated large wallets Smiley

Well, yes, I agree. Unfortunately, I ll have to let other people scoop some of DMDs as well. Smiley)
