5861  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SEGVEC CONNED ME OUT OF 14.09 BTC on: February 08, 2015, 01:34:34 AM
Hey segvec,

Do you have this kid's name? I bet his parents would appreciate a call hearing what his son has done in recent weeks.

lol... If I was his age my parents wouldn't mind reporting me to the police if someone presented evidence to them that I earned money online with illegal activities. With that said, I still don't believe that what happened to him shouldn't be taken seriously. 14 BTC were in fact stolen from him.
5862  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase, is it safe to use? on: February 08, 2015, 01:24:44 AM
read my signature Wink

Fun fact: it's more secure to store your bitcoins in a website with 2fa rather than an unsecured computer. So if someone is not tech savvy enough to know how to secure a computer in order to put his bitcoin wallet in it a trusted and established third party exchange/website (or whatever) that uses 2fa would be just fine for them. Certainly not the best option but secure enough to not lose their bitcoins if their computer is hacked.
5863  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase, is it safe to use? on: February 07, 2015, 06:40:59 PM
Just don't use it as your everyday wallet. They could suspend your account for sending bitcoins to basically anything that is considered illegal in the US. And if you're using the API for an application things are even more unclear.

So no more replies from gmaxwell? Were his claims credible?

I'll have to point out that the exif dumps of those pictures share astonishing similarities. The fact that the same software was used to edit them makes things even worse.
5866  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: February 05, 2015, 03:07:52 PM
You'd expect that something as big as bitcoin with an entire foundation behind it would have at least a small bug bounty. Yet we get to hear that no one cared enough to create one.

Used his service today. Everything went smooth as always. Smiley

Welp, that was the fastest loan I've seen. Got paid back already. Tongue

Picked an escrow already. I'll be providing this loan.

Can we lock this topic? If OP comes back he may make a new one, but for now it's attracting so much unjustified attention because of its good SEO.

Here's a quote regarding this repo

That's just one of the repos =). We've split the code apart over repos to better modularize the entire infrastructure.

Also, the slickage one is deprecated so don't follow that one.

Lastly, the dependencies have changed since first writing that README. Couch and redis are gone for now.

5875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: February 02, 2015, 04:39:40 PM
I think that it would be really useful if daily trade volume of major coins was tracked. I'd like to compare today's volume with past ones etc.
5876  Other / Meta / Re: REMOVE NUBBINS FROM THE DEFAULT TRUST LIST FOR REPEATED TRUST ABUSE on: February 02, 2015, 04:28:22 PM
For the record, here's someone carving Christian Orthodox icons. The video also includes various related images

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW4EYu97tjk

Carvings found in churches are often very detailed.
5877  Other / New forum software / Re: Shrinking quoted pictures on: February 02, 2015, 04:12:14 PM
Gif thumbnails would improve loading time a lot and would also make the website more useful for mobile users and people with a slow connection.

It's annoying how gifs auto play. Even though I have a relatively fast connection large quotes that contain images, and especially large gifs cause page loading to be problematic.
5878  Other / New forum software / Filters, filters and filters on: February 02, 2015, 04:08:48 PM
As a website that has a constant stream of content, bitcointalk should have it's own filters. Not every user of the forum likes all kinds of content. However, most people like to use 'Show unread posts since last visit.' so they catch up with what's hot since they last logged in.

Let me use my prefrences as an example.

If I was to use the Show unread posts since last visit link right now, many posts could come from non-English boards, that's obviously content I'm not interested in. Secondly, I wouldn't want so see any content where the OP contains the words NSFW/NSFL etc. And lastly, If I don't want to be notified about the replies in certain posts.
To sumarise:

Board filter: Off-topic, Altcoin announcement board, Games and rounds board, all non-English boards excluding the Greek one.
Word filter: Any post where the OP includes "NSFW", "NSFL".
Post specific filter

So there we have it. Three simple sorting filters that would optimize the latest post feed to everyone's preferences.

I would love to have a list of all the bitcoin ones. I've used https://a-ads.com/ before.
