1k was a false bubble courtesy of that clown Mark Karpeles and the WIllybot.

Keep telling yourself that.

I suppose you'll blame Willybot for the June 2011 and April 2013 bubbles too.

5862  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Bearwhale" doesn't exist on: January 25, 2015, 12:40:54 AM
It was a meme inspired by a very real (and documented) 30,000 BTC sell wall that was put up several months ago.  The community bought it up and the meme was born.

Actually it has been around at least since the days of <$100 coins.

Back at the time of the 30kBTC bearwhale in early October 2014, CNBC quoted a post with a picture of bullwhale defeating bearwhale from over a year ago.

You guys let me down ... where the heck is all the CCMF pics?!!!

Too early. We haven't even clawed our way back to where we started the year.

Give it some time. $500 I'll start taking this rise seriously. $800 I'll consider it a rally.

When it hits 4 digits again, CCMF.

...blablabla...

I agree this forum is horrible if you want to get information about the market. You will only get perma Bulls talking to you since January 2014...

Yes this thread is awash with permabulls... constant permabull that is all you see here... some of them have sockpuppet after sockpuppet, and seem to spend all day everyday on here just posting and posting.... cannot see the forest for the trees there are so many...

LOL  Smiley Wink Cheesy Grin Cool

Yep. Ever since late 2013 this place has been taken over by noob bulltards who think that bitcoins will somehow magically increase in price and can't see it for the South Seas Company tulip Ponzi pyramid bubble that it really is.

They should listen to the more experienced Heroes and Legends who almost all agree that Bitcoin is dying and will soon hit zero.

Well good morning Bitcoinland.

Tiny rise overnight, I see. Are we finally over $240 for good?

Better than another weekend dip.

Let's hope Jan 14 really was Capitulation Day and the path will be mostly upward from here.

Hopefully 2014 was just an aberration.

Still waiting patiently for the train and packing as many coins as possible in my bags. These last few months have been great for those who have the clarity pf mind to ignore the trolls and permabears and keep buying.

This forum is indeed very pathetic. I assume not many of you here are seasoned traders. This is purely an amateur hour, I left this shyte coin in the dust months ago and went back to equities and forex. This instrument will continue in a downtrend, this behavior is all too familiar. Getting coins at sub 200 was a nice move yes... whoever locked it in god job. At this point I would suggest only profiting from temporary volatility be it in upward or downward momentum. It will never reach its previous point of 800+...As of now it seems to be still moving in a strong downward momentum. It might break out to lets see 260 level then possibly 280 before another drop. People who bought their coins at 400 or 600.. and were 'hodling'. Well, I suggest you get better jobs my friends.

Welcome to the forum.

A couple of days ago.
5869  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you sold right now, how much would you lose? on: January 23, 2015, 05:51:15 PM
No losses here.

Other than the 1 hour dip on the day of the Silk Road bust, bitcoins have traded for more than the average I paid for them since Aug 2013.

Most of my coins cost <$100. My most recent, 10 days ago, cost $175 each.
5870  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 23, 2015, 05:34:31 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still in the $233 range I see.

Order books starting to fill in a little. Maybe we'll get some movement soon.

You don't have understand technology to understand why a currency capped at 21M with half already in the hands of neck beard nerds and come into existence by solving puzzles in big jerry rigged Chinese warehouses is not ever gonna work in the real world.

Oh noes. The Bronies are taking over.

And a dead cat bounce right back up.  Cheesy
5874  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sub 200 again on: January 20, 2015, 04:17:30 PM
Dude are you scared of this? Litecoin is down 97, 97%! Fuck, now thats something.

Litecoin is BTC copycat that is not accepted anywhere.

Not different from any other shitcoin

Litecoin never tried to reinvent the wheel. It's not bad to have at least two main coins and LTC filled the "silver" spot nicely, unfortunately its tanking a lot lately. We'll see. I think once cryptos go mainstrema LTC can rebound.

Litecoin grew to #2 on the back of SHA256 ASICs. GPU miners could still use their rigs.

Scrypt ASICs changed all that.
5875  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 20, 2015, 03:58:28 PM
Why is the price going up in reaction to good news?

Is the topsy turvy world being flipped right side up?

Cat's out of the bag. Time to get long.
The cat's dead anyway. Just let it bounce.  Wink

Not to the moon yet perhaps, but this cat still has most of its 9 lives left.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I half expected to see $210 again but it's actually up a couple of bucks. Whoopee.

Still going sideways. Ho hum. Yawn.

Slightly overspent my Bitcoin allowance stocking up at $175 last week and I'm hoping the price will stay low long enough to buy some more with my mid-week revenues before the probable rally.

Mmmm. Coffee.
5877  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 19, 2015, 11:22:23 PM
Why do loads of you guys want the price to stay low?
I'll never understand it.

It is fairly simple. The majority of bears on this forum fall into several categories (in no particular order):

1) sold and want to buy back lower and increase stash (reasonable gamble in a bear market)
2) sold lower and now the price has moved up against them (screeching about 50$ coins, it's going to double digits!, praying for price drops)
3) short from above this price (in the money, vocal because the market isn't dropping further as expected)
4) short from below this price (ho ho ho, thought it would go to zero because 'line on a chart')
5) troll (see NLC, or the alts.)
6) permabear (Edward50, Nagle - thought bitcoins were overpriced at 2$, now desperate for bitcoin to fail to validate their enormous life mistake)

Classic. Post of the day, except you forgot one important category:

7) nitwits who haven't even read Satoshi's white paper, aren't bright enough to understand it if they did, and actually think it's some kind of Ponzi or other pyramid scheme, and/or think it will fail.

you should give up, you already lost 50% of your money since $400 because you bought bulls's lie

Please Theymos. Bring back noob jail.

LOL thread.

5880  Economy / Speculation / Re: "Reports of my forum death have been greatly exaggerated" - chodpaba on: January 19, 2015, 08:04:05 PM
Anyone have an archive of chodpaba's posts? I would like to review what he had to say about volatility over the years. I seem to recall him predicting drops like this for a long time to come.

https://bitcointa.lk/search/33634/

I thought he/she had deleted most of his/her posts and threads at the time of leaving. It's nice to see that some remain.

Chodpaba was always one of the more thoughtful and insightful posters here even if some did not always agree.

Maybe he/she will return because he/she last posted on January 22, 2014 but was last active on October 27, 2014.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=5356

We can only hope.

btw Thanks for the link.

I only just noticed it's a bitcointa.lk link and not bitcointalk.org.
