5861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum supremacy. Is your trade (coins) Quantum resistant? on: October 24, 2019, 04:46:00 AM
It's already quite clear in the article that you posted that such events are still far off in the future. Naturally, BTC and other coins that are to be released by cimpanies as well as current altcoins available are aware of the abilities of quantum computers. Naturally, they would then prepare for such events in the future that could potentially prevent quantum computers from cracking encryption techniques. As quantum supremacy develops, crypto alao develops. Crypto may even use quantum supremacy to develop more even.
5862  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin cross $50,000 by Dec 2020? on: October 24, 2019, 02:59:25 AM
Bitcoin has the potential to reach 20k, but in the end, it is only potential. It depends on how the community squeezes out the potential of bitcoin completely and only then will we see Bitcoin reaching the top. Imo though, it would reach 20k not at Dec 2020 but rather the Q1 of 2021 instead. Dec 2020, we could still see the effects of the halving and comparing it to the past halvings, BTC price always goes down whenever halving occurs and only after a year would it start a bullish run. I do expect another ATH once 2021 or 2022 rolls out.
5863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's worse: cigar addiction or gambling addiction on: October 24, 2019, 02:23:19 AM
If I had to choose one, I'd choose cigar addiction. Money can always be earned and as long as you're really into it, I doubt it could kill you as long as you know how to manage your money without asking for debts and all of that. On the other hand, cigar addiction not only affects you but everyone around you plus the environment itself. Taking into account all those factors, cigar addiction is generally worse than gambling addiction. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean that gambling discussion is good since it is also rather bad. Anyhow, any type of addiction is rather bad, everything must be done rather moderately instead for a healthy progress and relationship with that type of action.
5864  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are trading platforms a good way to start trading? Which ones are the best? on: October 24, 2019, 01:44:27 AM
You already looked up in google and yet you still didn't found the bigshots of trading sites? Why would you even go somewhere unknown, just go to the bigshots like Binance, CoinBase, and many others. You've already done googling, I suppose you can find the reputable and trustable ones yourself. There are also a lot of famous exchanges out there where you can guarantee their quality of service so I suppose you wouldn't have problems possibly finding the best one that suits your tastes.
5865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin down on: October 23, 2019, 04:01:55 PM
this is the reason why when someone says BTC has bottom out its the opposite that you have to expect. the drop looks very sharp and if they hit the floor it can really drag the price down to probably the last bottom like $3k to which i hope not. but i'd have to dump mine as well. now that i'm also seeing uncertainty to all these. the gurus in the chat says dump so i must.  Grin no reasons at all.
The drop was way too sharp that it seemed very unnatural. My guess is some whales went and sold his coins in a very short time span. It was really unexpected since I had the idea that it would actually move sideways and would only drop a bit to around 7900 or so and then stabilize there. It is good news for those who want to buy though. It is an opportunity to hodl cause I expect a push through 9k in the near future and could possibly increase further because of the may halving about to occur next year.
5866  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't Buy Spot Ever, Call A Bitcoin Just 5 Dollars- BTC Seer Option on: October 23, 2019, 03:25:50 PM
I'd rather go with spot that options tbh. I have much more control with it and am rather experienced with it already compared with Options. I've tried options and I didn't really find anything different with it when compared to spot and really, the risk is almost about the same. It's just a matter of when you'll encounter the risk itself. If in the future, I need to reduce my time with trading, associating myself with options then maybe a good choice but I don't think that would happen in the near future.
5867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down...now at $7,654.85 on: October 23, 2019, 02:02:07 PM
This was as always one whale selling lots of coins in a matter of minutes and plummeting the price.

Hopefully he buys back soon :-)
I think so as well. The price was way too sharp a drop after all. It was almost instantaneous and caught me off guard. I honestly thought it was just gonna hover around the 7900 mark then rise up or at least steady itself by that much.

I wasn't really expecting a possible push towards 9k. The Plummet really caught me off guard. Although it is good news for others and maybe me as well cause I'm considering of buying more BTC before the bullish season. If so, then I'd probably wait a few more weeks and see if it would drop any lower than it already has.
Am I just over optimistic and blinded by things happening the market today?
You're not being optimistic. It's just that the market at the moment was manipulated by the whales a bit which caused the price to drop sharply. I hope it would rise back to normal again one of these days but who knows. It really is unreadable at times after all.
5868  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: How to get merit? on: October 23, 2019, 01:04:54 PM

If they think na helpful yung post, only then na magbibigay sila. Mostly informative posts with good quality yung mga binibigyan ng merit. Yung hindi lang basta basta search sa google alam mo na sagot. Yung need mo talaga icontemplate minsan. Meron din yung analyzations and deep questions na mapapacontemplate ka, namemerit ka rin dun.
Id advise to brush up the basics muna like reading books about bitcoin or articles katulad ng The Ultimate Guide To Everything About Bitcoin. After nun, well, experience na lang. Basic terminologies and flow lang naman yung books, need mo din talaga ng experience sa pagsagot sagot. Parang sa pagaaral lang yan, di mo naman masasagot yung accounting question kung tourism student ka diba.

Since mostly all users dito ay may basic foundation na, providing new knowledge for them can be difficult since tyemp tyempo lang talaga pag nabasa nila. Kaya madalas talaga is profound answers na yung hinahanap hanap minsan. Pagnakakita ka ng minemerit, kala mo simple lang pero dahil sa experience nila kinuha yun kaya nagmumukhang simple na lang.
5869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [What IF]Part 2 on: October 23, 2019, 07:59:01 AM
What If,... you're currently playing and suddenly you run out of funds and on the next draw you missed the game which you are about to win the Jackpot.
What would you feel and do about it? Will you stop playing because of that miserable scenario?
Well... Nothing we can really do about it. Heck the feeling your pertaining to is kinda like similar to regret we often feel like "If only i did this or did that" kinda thing and its kinda messed up really. Its really rather painful whenever you think about it yet you can't do anything about it. I'd guess you can only grit your teeth and move on about such. Cheers to those who got broken cause of what ifs mateeeee
5870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin's Weak Points on: October 23, 2019, 07:02:49 AM
I think Bitcoin's weak point could be its volatility. Bitcoin price is very tend to change every time. Because of this, governments do not approach to Bitcoin to make it as local their currency instead of fiat money.
It is both a weak point and a strong point. I doubt people would have adopten bitcoin without its volatility attribute. Besides, imo, that's just for now. BTC supply is still being released constantly and the market is still in its infant stage. This makes the price constantly change and therefore why it is volatile. I expect it to actually reach a stable price when the last coin is mined. Plus, the government refuses to accept BTC because they can't control it. No one could.
5871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About my first loss - This might help newcomers as a learning curve on: October 23, 2019, 05:52:09 AM
It's not really a loss per se but should rather be called not being able to take advantage of the market or misreading the market, therefore not being able to get the most out of it.
Its not really surprising since a lot of people were expecting BTC to rise more than 20k. Sadly, expectations were not met and many were instead disappointed and lost a lot of possible profit which they could have made.
5872  Economy / Economics / Re: Credit organizations and privacy policy on: October 23, 2019, 04:39:26 AM
I found in privacy policy of one particular exchange that it transfers data about me to credit organizations. Actually the same is true for banks.
In what cases do they do this thing? If I make big enough trade volume at exchange, say $50,000 for year, is this information transferred as well? I suppose it happens only if you do margin trading or something... don't know much about it, except that you take loans from brokers...

Yeah I realize $50k is not big for you
The data that they gather from you is mostly to take into account the statistics of the exchange and/or banks in the area of trade volume. There are a lot of statistics involved and some higher up companies may request for such information for a detailed research they may do on it. This results in the analysis you often see on prominent banks/conpanies/exchange. Monitoring is naturally needed as well for order to happen since a business relationship isn't about trust, but rather the ability to abide by the contracts and trust cant bind you to these contracts.
5873  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin freelancing is dead? on: October 23, 2019, 01:16:46 AM
People were saying that since Bitcoin is the first global currency that doesn't care about borders, it would be easier to connect workers and employers, and especially help the so-called "unbanked". It makes some sense in theory, because Bitcoin has different properties than fiat, so why it didn't work as predicted?
Maybe employers are much more likely to pay using fiat or altcoin instead?BTC has reached an astounding price so I'd suppose they'd rather hire professionals instead of free lancers. Most probably because we're now done with the development phase of projects and serviced and its now time for companies to do it professionally instead. It guarantees the quality of work after all.
5874  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin’s Rise Neutralizes Bearish Mood on: October 22, 2019, 02:23:04 PM
The best buying price starts at 7. And we might be back on that price level anytime from now. We are at a very uncertain point right now. We might have left the $7,000-$7,999 range already but still Bitcoin is not bullish to leave $8,000 far behind. It is basically not leaving the side of $7,000. Anyone can buy at the current price but that would mean HODLing for a much longer period if the price is falling down once more.
We can say that bitcoin has started moving sideways starting at 8,000$. Naturally, Just like you said, I don't believe that BTC would leave the 8,000ish price range soon and go past 9,000. On the other hand, I doubt it would go back to the 7,000 range or at the very least, stay in it. It may dip down a bit to 7,900$ but it shouldn't stay at that range for long. After a few weeks, I suppose BTC can now stabilize at 8,000$ and above, albeit for a short time only. As for a bullish push towards 9,000 or higher, That would still need to wait for a few more weeks imo or at the very least, I need to observe the possible events that may occur in the next few weeks.
5875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A story about how to lose everything or "happy" 2019. on: October 22, 2019, 01:51:02 PM
0.4 is not a small amount to take it for granted and not to use your own wallet to keep it, I think you are investing without educating yourself on how to keep your investment in a correct manner, honestly there is no such thing as stable exchange, there's always a possibility of hack, in your case the exchange is already gone, and it will take a lot to get those Bitcoin back, I'm pretty sure you know what you are going to do, it's a lesson learned.

Small amount? the OP says he invested in jan if it was jan 2018 then the fiat value equivalent to 0.4 BTC is not small. Learning which costs 0.4 is actually huge cost for this learning.
I'm pretty sure he's not saying it's small but rather saying that 0.4 is not a small amount. Heck compared to the first few years of bitcoin, any price of the current BTC is enough to say as not a "small amount". Well, I'd agree with others that OP already lost those 0.4 BTC he/she had back then. It's his/her fault for not managing it well enough. We all know that investments are supposed to be managed even if not 24/7, at the very least, spend some time to check it out at least once a day.
5876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Lead Magnet on: October 22, 2019, 01:19:18 PM
Storage and exchange I suppose? Holding isn't really an issue since that is a personal problem but Storage of crypto in wallets could lead to sometimes loss because of hacks and scams. Security and user-friendliness are what I'm looking for in wallets most of the time. Investing in a good wallet could potentially save my entire crypto savings after all. As for exchange, well a faster one with cheaper transactions while still being legit, is what I am looking for. It's a struggle at times since I don't have a specific exchange I go to every time so deciding can be a bit of a hassle.
5877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Must read articles for understanding bitcoin and cryptocurrency on: October 22, 2019, 12:19:54 PM
I'd rather recommend books bout bitcoin rather than articles or whitepapers. Books imo are much more friendly when it comes to making the user understand different technical terms new to them like "Early bird getd the Bitcoin" by Andrew Courey.
You can look up a lot of beginner books that break down the complicated parts of bitcoin and should be rather useful to beginners. At the very least, it tackles everything about the basics that a newbie would need to study about.
5878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin start to rebound? Next Target $8.6K? on: October 22, 2019, 08:42:51 AM
As much as I'm very bullish on bitcoin, I don't see any pump to $9k at this point. And as I have said it my previous post, $8k-$8500 will be the trend for now unless we have a break out run. This is similar to $6k-$6500 we have seen last year. No price movement except for occasional 1% increased and then go back to that price range again.
Indeed. A price increase/decrease of 1 - 2% is the current trend as of the moment. Id expect ti reach 5 digits either before halving or after halving of 2020, although I'm more inclined towarda before halving. There isn't any reason for a foreseeable 9k this month or even the next so far after all.
5879  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Bitcoin Repeats History? 5 Part TA Series On Descending Triangle Breakdowns on: October 22, 2019, 07:37:19 AM
Bakkt launch was an important event. It was probably the reason why the Bitcoin price took off in March. Something like buying the rumor and selling the news type of trading. As you can see the price fell from the triangle exactly on September 23. But the thing is unlike December 2017, the price is not yet in a parabolic move. I think the halving event will be the parabolic move.
I doubt you could push bakkt into the front as the reason. BTC was indeed hyped up when Bakkt announced its launch so a lot of analysts deduced that bitcoin could push for a bullish run after its launch. Sadly, the launch itself hardly had any effect on the market, and the market even went down to 7500 $ or so after the launch.

Id expect a close scenario similar with 2017 or the part 5 as indicated by OP. Well, halving is just around the corner and we all would expect the price surge once it happens. I'm gonna wait for the results for changes next week again. Still waiting for a part 5 repeat next year.
5880  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get rid of this spam junk on: October 22, 2019, 06:40:45 AM
That happened mostly for scamming people especially investors. I think that the scammer cost by creating fake site can be covered by the profit they got from scamming people. Well, we can stop those scammers creating or starting spam projects just to earn free profit but it is possible that it can be avoided getting fooled.
I doubt stopping them is possible. Scammers take scamming as their jobs and I doubt a simple boycott or simply avoiding getting fooled by them is enough to stop them. There are a lot of innovative ways scammers have come up with and would only increase more so in the future so don't expect scamming to disappear just like that
