What were the fixes with today's mini-update?

Maybe it has to do with what was posted before by the dev here.

Well then, you shouldn't be surprised if one day you wake up and all the accounts you have get banned. Here's BadBear banning 50 accounts a farmer owned.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=786662.msg8875006#msg8875006

Not dissolved, still bannable.  Roll Eyes

Here's theymos saying that using an alt account to evade a ban is forbidden
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104178.msg1140954#msg1140954

It's also forbidden to use alt accounts to create false credibility. No way to prove account farmers aren't doing neither. The guy in OP did that, even extensively.
5885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can ordinary men do to make Bitcoin grow? on: January 31, 2015, 11:19:25 PM
Every additional person holding increases the exchange value. Conversely if no one was willing to hold, it would have no value.

No no, that's not how it works. Hoarding your bitcoins won't increase the value. Buying more is what creates bigger buy demands, therefore pushing the price up. Holding on the other hand, has little to to contribution to the price. Unless what you mean is actually 'not selling'. Yeah, selling contributes to the price.

Bet? Why should I bet on this? If this is allowed you should be able to prove it easily since your entire business model in this forum is based on it. Trying to get even more money out of it is a bit pitiful of you.

Nonetheless, trying to game the system of any forum would break it. Bitcointalk is no exception to this. That's why signature restrictions have been brought in place and mods still ban signature spammers/farmers.
5888  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Let's have a look at stellar69, account farmer, spammer, blackmailer and thief on: January 31, 2015, 10:31:48 PM
Nope. Account farming is not banned. You could make as many as you wish. You could even sell em.

Account farming is in fact banned. It could earn you a ban in all of your accounts. BadBear has reportedly done this for hundreds of accounts.
No it is not. If one of your accounts gets banned then you are not allowed to use any of them for the duration of the ban. The reason why BadBear has banned so many farmed accounts is that generally speaking the more accounts that you own/have, the lower the post quality you will have, so if you have a lot of accounts you will generally have a very low post quality - that of someone who deserves a ban.

I think this has been discussed before again and again. Badbear has banned hundreds of accounts not just because they had bad quality posts but also because they were used by farmers. You know this very well. The guy in the OP has broken every single rule about signature spamming and account farming. There's no good reason to justify this because as you said it just results in more spamming.

LOL, I remember when I was getting my degree in abnormal psych. We used to joke about the number of diagnosed cases of ADHD vs the number of legitimate cases.

We used to say:
"ADHD is the clinical name for shitty parenting."

Just like autism and aspergers are now.

Parents ignore their kids, sit them (and their developing brains) in front of a tv all day which has programming designed to change about every 2 minutes so people keep watching and don't get bored, and suddenly they have a hard time focusing outside of that situation. It isn't hard to understand cause and effect here. Then they see bad grades or attention problems, take them in to the doctor, the doctor wants to get paid so he has to have some sort of billable code for what happened. He can't say "look, you're a shitty parent," so they throw the kid under one of the convenient spectrum disorders.

Example - both of my nephews were diagnosed with aspergers. Their parents literally work all day, come home, and play video games. If they try to interact with their parents, the parents scream at them, so they sit and watch tv. That's their day. That's the level of interaction. They live in the middle of the woods so the kids can't associate with other kids. They just parrot back what they hear on tv, so they have next to no ability to interact with other kids. I don't associate with that part of my family anymore.

ADHD, Autism, and Aspergers DO exist, but the vast majority of the cases are because parents didn't want to interact with their kids. The latest editions of the DSM just make it easier to categorize people under one of those disorders.
Thanks for that, very interesting!

Question is, what does all this have to do with GAW?
5891  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ponzis are dead. Finally.. on: January 31, 2015, 07:45:25 AM
The ponzis never actually die. They just come back with different designs/names etc. HYIPS are still popular, all of them use bitcoin. Several pyramids are also acitve atm. But we mostly get to hear about them when they scam.

Did anyone archive the post about disabling cloudmining before it was deleted? https://imgur.com/gallery/WdrR2NI

this thread?
https://hashtalk.org/topic/30585/
I think the thread did get renamed so it might have looked like it was deleted. To check if a thread was deleted or renamed just remove the thread title part of the link.

Cool thanks! I Didn't imagine the whole URL would change with the title...

Greek here, I can assure you that none of those coins received the least bit of adoption by actual Greeks. The Greek section of this forum will tell you the same.

Just my 2 cents.
