this is one of our trade secrets, so I can't discuss the details... this is again a trade secret, but no it's not due to our insurance.

I respect your desire to keep your trade advantages secret, but it may backfire on your adoption rate. I can not imagine how you've solved the issues I've pointed out and thus leave open the possibility of the worst. I will not be using your service nor will I recommend it to others until much time and real-world experience show you can be trusted. I wish you the best and hope you prove my skepticism unfounded.

Their "trade secret"(ah!) is the same as companies like paypal "trade secrets". They charge customers exorbitant fees to cover for losses caused by scammers. Ex.: The $15 deposit fee...

Kalyhost is the hosting company from MagicalTux...

So, people are trusting millions to a guy who can't even cancel a billing on his own hosting panel... lol

If you're a smart businessman, you know what will be the leading online currency going forward.
Wait.. What does Litecoin and Bitcoin have to do with this story?

FTFY

Litecoin! FFS...

Here is some tinfoil info for you guys: Cloudflare is a project started by the Department of Homeland Security.
Doesn't matter how good their service is, just stay away if you know what's good for you.
Now, don't say I didn't warn you.

Ha, that's nothing! The Internet is started by DARPA and our beloved cryptography (yes, including bitcoin's SHA256) by the NSA. Turn off your computer nao1!!!!11!!!

(I am sorry for trolling, I just couldn't resist)

Troll all you want. You are comparing the internet or cryptography with cloudflare... FFS.
The internet is a honeypot? Was it designed to be a honeypot? Cloudflare was, from day 1.

5887  Economy / Marketplace / Re: FeedZeBirds.com - Bitcoin Twitter Ad Platform [ANN] on: November 23, 2011, 07:58:15 AM
All pretty except the part about funds owed to spam accounts being donated.
Give it back to advertisers, that's how real advertising agencies do it. The fact that the advertiser didn't get what he paid for, yet you keep his money to donate to someone else is fishy as hell.
5888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would banks need to do to push Bitcoin underground? on: November 22, 2011, 02:52:46 PM
1) Move money from anywhere to anywhere easily and cheaply.

Banks already do this.  Here in Europe, SEPA transfers are generally free, and just as popular as credit cards in some countries.

No, they don't. International transfers are difficult, slow and expensive, for the majority of the world. And by "here in Europe", I guess you mean "here in my country", because I live in Europe too, and SEPA transfers are pretty expensive.

I'm sorry? Do you know what you are saying? SEPA transfers between bank accounts using the same currency, in the case EURO, when sent with shared costs and from your internet banking service can't be charged a dime, it's LAW! The only thing they can charge you for is for their service if you choose to go to the bank cashier and send it from there, the transfer itself MUST be free.
5889  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Open source threshold on: November 21, 2011, 11:56:15 PM
Hey guy's,

Before the code is released I wanted to see the level of traffic on Trade-Btc.com reach a certain level. So once it releases 100k hits, or 10000 users the code will be released. This is mainly being done to have a certain level of hype around the release, because this will finally allow anyone with a small amount of coding experience to be able to run their own fully functional exchange.

Vince.

100k hits is far more likely considering 10k users would make you bigger than Tradehill Tongue

And don't forget that it's an exchange working on the testnet and with no announcement or plan to become a real exchange
5890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why did you guys support SolidCoin in the first place? on: November 18, 2011, 05:25:27 AM
that's just a testament to how irrationally narcissistic the development team is.

Only you can be the narcisist around here?
5891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Win32 namecoind is done justice when combined with NamecoinGUI on: November 15, 2011, 11:15:02 AM
(unlike the bitcoin app that runs 24/7)

Careful with the disk fragmentation. It will kill your hard drive right after it slows it down to the speed of a turtle.

I advise you to stop it every week at least and run the defragmenter.
5892  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone just took a gigantic dump. on: November 14, 2011, 03:58:53 AM
The 7.5m*$0.50 of value "lost" by people believing that bitcoin has some form of stability or future, when all it really appears to be is early adopters playing games with your money and electricity.

I would dare to say that so far they are only playing games with MtGox database...

5896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Client connections on: November 13, 2011, 08:00:02 PM
Sorry to double post, but I couldn't get an answer in technical support.  Can anyone help with this?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=50883.0

I just tested this myself using the exact version client and os x and no outgoing connections here.

Are you sure you dont have another program that was attempting to make an outgoing connection at the same time?

Well if they put a backdoor they might only put in Winblows client which is easy to fool people. I find it hard to believe this is anything but a classical backdoor maybe sending list to gov. of who is using the software. Told you : don't use the official client !

But the OP is also using OSx...
5897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Client port 443 outgoing connection on: November 13, 2011, 07:34:43 PM
It's the stock client from the Bitcoin.org website. Just downloaded and installed, no compiling or third party sources. If it's something malicious it may be happening to others without them noticing.  It isn't detected by the system firewall.  I use a network monitor/outgoing connection firewall that catches it.

We are in deep trouble then. From official website ? Maybe it has backdoor !?

Too bad I don't have even a Mac VM or I would try it.
Will wireshark my 0.3.24 on linux and see if it does the same. Maybe I can use wireshark to monitor the 0.4.0 that I have installed on my windows machine.
5898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Client port 443 outgoing connection on: November 13, 2011, 07:25:11 PM
Well, that makes things even more strange. That's an HTTP SSL connection, no reason whatsoever for the Bitcoin client to open it, even if that IP was a node, which would make the port and type of connection different.
5899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Client port 443 outgoing connection on: November 13, 2011, 06:55:09 PM
That domain belongs to Digital River, a company who, among other things, does third party software activations. Really strange.

Maybe Gavin used that to prevent piracy with the Oracle license Tongue ?

Well, I would freak out if my Bitcoin client was connecting to that domain, no matter the reason.

The real question here is: Where da f*** did the OP got the binary from?
5900  Other / Off-topic / Re: My 2 Factor Authentication System on: November 13, 2011, 06:49:20 PM
WalletBit uses the same type of system, but instead of using it for 2 factor auth it uses the "Secure Card" to authorize transactions, instead of using the account password. You might want to have a look at it and I dunno, maybe exchnage some ideas with Kris.

And no, it's not a crap idea, banks use it all the time.

Also, you might want to move your thread to the Project Development forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=12.0 which is probably the best place for this thread. You'll get more replies there than on the Off-Topic section... or not...
