5881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 10, 2019, 03:48:30 PM
That is really doubtful as majority of the teams will not be bold enough to tour Pakistan.

Well.. no one can blame a particular team if they refuse to tour Pakistan. Terrorist attacks do happen in that country frequently. And Pakistan is not one of the top 3 countries in cricket for other nations to think about the revenue loss if they don't tour that country. Even many of the star Sri Lankan players had opted out of the tour due to security concerns.
5882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some IEOs could also turn out to be scam on: October 08, 2019, 07:55:30 AM
Initially we were having a lot of good projects with the IEOs. But recently, the quality has gone down by a lot. The medium-sized and smaller exchanges are responsible for most of this drop in quality. Big exchanges such as Binance refuses to list any IEO that they think is not a good one. But the smaller exchanges are ready to list any project, even if the team is full of amateurs and inexperienced people.
5883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't survive alone on: October 08, 2019, 07:45:35 AM
Most of people pick also bitcoin as usual but, So many altcoins that support bitcoin as a popular coins. Bitcoin for me is very special but other altcoins is important too. Call them crypto coins.

If we get altcoins from airdrops and bounty campaigns, it is OK. But given the current market condition, I am not confident enough to make investments with altcoins. Many of them have gone down by more than 50% during the last 2-3 months. For example, ETH is trading at 0.02 BTC per coin currently. It was trading at 0.035 BTC a few months back.

5) December 2019: Maduro bans bitcoin trasnactions  Grin

If he bans the transactions, then the users will go underground. But on a serious note, I don't think that he'll do that. Even Maduro realize that it is not Bitcoin that caused economic collapse in his country. And bans are useless, when he don't have a large police force to enforce the measure. From what I have heard, more than half of the police force have gone AWOL, as the salaries are getting delayed.
5885  Economy / Economics / Re: Crimes involving crypto have risen on: October 08, 2019, 07:28:08 AM
I'm not surprised this is happening now because it something that usually replicate  but I don't know if you guys notice that every time Bitcoin halving is approaching crypto crime rate always increase because that's the moment most crypto theft hunt for their prey.
My advise to you guys is to be more careful.

How the incidence of crypto crime (wallet hacks, ponzi investment schemes.etc) can be influenced by the block reward halving? I have to disagree with you on that. You can claim that the incidence increases when the exchange rates go up. But how can you link the block reward halving with a rise in crime rate? There is no logic behind such an argument.
5886  Economy / Economics / Re: Trade war Influences on cryptocurrency on: October 08, 2019, 07:14:25 AM
I'm not so.sure that trade war will influence on people to buy cryptocurrencies and increase demand. Trade war influence on supply of certain goods, it might start some financial crisis too but that doesn't mean that people will automaticly turn to cryptocurrency and abandon traditional investments and fiat currencies. In fact I don't think that is going to happen at all.

Here is what I think about the trade war. IMO, the trade war will make a lot of people unemployed (the markets have crashed by up to 15% in the recent weeks). This will leave people with less money to spend and they will be forced to sell their savings (including cryptocurrency). As a result, there will be a selloff and the supply will once again outstrip the demand. In the end, it will be having a negative impact on the Bitcoin prices.
5887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't survive alone on: October 06, 2019, 07:42:30 AM
I have to admit that this argument is very funny. The OP want to say that Bitcoin needs help from the copycats to survive. In my opinion, it is the other way around. Bitcoin can survive without the help from altcoins, but altcoins will not be able to survive without Bitcoin. But still, for a healthy market, we need some competition from the competing currencies.
5888  Economy / Economics / Re: First Bitcoin ATM in Venezuela on: October 06, 2019, 07:34:14 AM
Bitcoin gives the ordinary Venezuelans another option to securely store their wealth. US Dollar banknotes and gold coins are not very safe, as crime rate is very high in Venezuela. The advantage with Bitcoin is that it can be stored in a digital format without the help from any third party, and it is not easy to find out how many coins a particular individual owns.
5889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to earn free altcoin ?? on: October 06, 2019, 07:18:43 AM
I have been in the crypto world since a long time but i have not been able to make my portfolio and never earned anything...i dont have much cash that i can buy many different coins....i have only 0.01 btc right now Embarrassed
Please tell me ways if there are any to earn some different types of altcoins to slowly build up my portfolio with some valuable coins...

If you could put in some effort, then I am sure that it will be possible for you to build your portfolio in less than 6 months. Right now you have 10 merit points. Do some research about cryptocurrency and make good posts here in this forum. Your merit score will increase and within a few months, you will be able to upgrade your rank to Full Member or Senior Member. Once your rank is upgraded, you will be able to take part in signature campaigns and earn cryptocurrency for yourself.
5890  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't spend bitcoin. Not now. on: October 06, 2019, 07:12:26 AM
What is wrong in spending Bitcoin? If you have expenses or utility bills to take care of, then I don't think that it will be a bad idea to cashout some of your coins. Once you are in a better position financially, you can buy back these coins. Now it is very easy to purchase and sell your coins, with so many exchanges and peer to peer platforms around.
5891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 06, 2019, 07:05:11 AM
I think Virat Kohli needs to give Mohammed Shami another 4-5 overs. He is in top form right now and he should be able to clean up the remaining two wickets. The 9th wicket partnership is nearing 50 runs and the captain needs to act quickly. Jadeja needs a break (he has put in 12 consecutive overs) and Ashwin can be given a chance to get to 10 wicket haul (in the match), along with Shami.
5892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Altcoins ever come back again on: October 05, 2019, 01:24:24 PM
On average, altcoin investors are even more impatient when compared to those who invest with Bitcoins. Because only those who are not satisfied with the potential returns from BTC are going to invest in the alts. And this may be one of the reasons why the alts are losing their value quickly. The bearish phase has now almost completed two years. A lot of the users are dumping their coins and making their exit.
5893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 05, 2019, 01:18:48 PM
For India to win Ashwin and Jadeja are the prime factors and i do not see South Africa winning this match but they can try their best to draw this one.

Obviously.. it is the 5th day and I guess 80% to 90% of the overs will be bowled by the spinners. Even during the South African first innings, only 34 overs out of the total 131 overs were bowled by the pacers. The pitch is not offering any support for the pacers, and therefore there is no point in giving them too many overs. Also Bumrah is not there. He was one of those bowlers who has the capability to perform even on flat tracks.
5894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you know about Bitcoin before becoming a bitcoiner? on: October 05, 2019, 01:12:31 PM
Well.. I have to admit the truth here. I first got in to cryptocurrency almost three years back, in 2017 January. One of my friends introduced me to Bitcoins and he was in to it since 2012. Before 2017, I had never heard about Bitcoin and even if some stranger had talked to me about BTC, then I would have considered as a ponzi scheme or a scam.
5895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee To Launch New Decentralized Exchange – McAfeeDex on: October 05, 2019, 01:06:39 PM
Many people don't seem to be interested in John McAfee's ideas. They now consider this more of a joke and not a big project. dex exchange allows anyone to register their coins for free even if it's not valuable. I am not sure after this they will be able to survive together with a series of other dex exchanges.
I think it will be a storage place for a number of shitcoins in the future, hopefully I'm wrong.

A few years back, he used to command a lot of respect in the market. And he lost that respect as a result of his own actions. Back in 2017, he supported a lot of scam projects (probably in return for money), and those who invested in them lost their capital. Once you lose the respect in the world of cryptocurrency, it is very difficult to win it back.
5896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin more worth than other cryptocurrencies that have better specs? on: October 05, 2019, 12:59:52 PM
ROFL... It is true that Bitcoin is not the most advanced cryptocurrency out there. After the creation of Bitcoin in 2009, we had the first second generation cryptocurrency in 2015 (Ethereum). And two years later, we had the first third generation cryptocurrency (Cardano). Now the question arises why they haven't replaced Bitcoin. The reason is that the users are not looking for a technologically better coin, but for a coin that can be trusted and is easy to use.
5897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 04, 2019, 04:19:14 PM
India is in total control of this game and SA still require 150 runs to avoid follow on and 6 wickets in hand . Just a thought if India wrap up before this and will they give SA follow on will they bat and let SA face the 4th innings pitch on 4th and 5th day if required .
India does have the upper hand and with two days left i am expecting a draw, South Africa just trail by 117 runs on the third day and they still have two wickets in hand and even if India starts their batting they will be batting the entire 4th day and will try to score a lead of above 350 runs and then put the South Africa to bat on the final day and if they are able to play for a longer time then it is going to be a dead match. I expect the wicket to spin in the final two days and it will be difficult for batsman to score freely and a couple of good session could change the match.

Around 180 overs remain in this match and South Africa hasn't finished their first innings yet. Even if India could get them out without much effort during the first session of the 4th day, I really doubt whether they will get enough overs to bowl out South Africa. But you never know. Ashwin can be very lethal on the 5th day. And if Jadeja also offers good support to him, then India may win this match comfortably.
5898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to invest safely in cryptocurrency? on: October 04, 2019, 04:03:04 PM
There is no 'safe' investment in cryptocurrency. The only safe in here is not to give your wallet to somebody else so that your funds will be secured. THAT IS IT, nothing else. Investing in crypto includes losing of funds by losing in trades. So it means that this is quite that risky investing. So you better make your actions right.
I believe that investing in bitcoin and storing it in a cold wallet is a pretty safe way. if you just buy bitcoin and hold it on your wallet

Well... this is the only 100% safe method to invest in cryptocurrency. Keep your coins in cold storage and forget about them for the next 3-4 years. Else you can have a target and cashout them once the price is attained. I would not consider any other cryptocurrency 100% safe for the long duration, including established altcoins such as Ethereum, Tether and Litecoin.
5899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Rugby World Cup predictions on: October 04, 2019, 03:56:06 PM
This tournament is getting boring now. We are having too many one sided matches, back to back. Two days back New Zealand whacked Canada 63-0. And yesterday Fiji mopped the floor with Georgia (45-10) and Ireland destroyed Russia (35-0). And today we had another one sided match, with South Africa defeating Italy 49-3. I can't wait for the next round. I hope it will be more competitive.
5900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 04, 2019, 03:49:28 PM
The odds are tempting as the T20 matches can be closely contested but Pakistan has more experienced players and they are playing with their best players while Srilanka is not coming into the series with their best one. Even if the Srilanka best eleven play these series i doubt they will defeat Pakistan in their home series.

From what we have seen so far in the series, I would say that the gap between the two teams is not as large as many of us would have feared. The third ODI confirmed this. It was a very closely contested match, and the Sri Lankans had their chances. If they had a bit of luck, then they could have pulled it through. Still, it is an encouraging sign for them, going forward to the T20 series.
