5901  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Pay Could ‘Destroy the Financial System’ on: August 16, 2020, 03:27:33 PM
Much of the news concerns Russia, even after the new amendments were approved in the law, which allows the use of cryptocurrencies to buy some products and is not an alternative to the ruble or recognized currency.

Countries (especially Russia, the United States, and China) will not legalize digital currencies because it means weakening the paper money of these countries. Many countries place many restrictions on purchasing gold and force citizens to deposit it in banks.
The same applies to cryptos. They will not obtain legitimacy, but rather taxes are put on them to benefit the national economy.
5902  Economy / Economics / Re: Warren Buffet bought “Gold” for the first time. When Bitcoin? on: August 16, 2020, 03:22:19 PM
Perhaps regulatory restrictions are what prevents him from investing? Even if he buys, there is no need to show it to the public, he will not benefit anything and the price may increase by 1%, but the price will quickly correct.

I am against the rule of buying something because someone bought it or analysts expect it, follow your own style, analyze the news (not all of them are correct) and build your investment plan.

The economic recession may appear violent, or it is maneuvering to buy some shares at a cheaper price.
5903  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Using a MMPOG game to buy bitcoin anonymously on: August 15, 2020, 06:35:49 PM
If you are looking for ways to buy bitcoin anonymously, there are many ways to do it without the risk of using games credit.
For example, you can buy gift cards, pay with cash, sell them for a 5% discount.
Buying game credits is like buying Venezuela's currency, it is very central, difficult to convert into cash, and you may be banned at any time, so why use it?

It is also not an anonymous means as the game developers have full access to all your data, and if they accept fiat money without a license, the authorities will end up confiscating that game and losing your money.
5904  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Quick advice for making secure private and public bitcoin keys for micro QR code on: August 15, 2020, 06:24:48 PM
I'm looking at using this:  https://bitkey.io/
Can anyone vouch for it?

Good points: nobody has reported any bug/backdoor, 0 scam reports, Open-source project, and running from a long time.
Bad points: The code has not been updated for a long time, so there may be some bugs, I suggest that you do not use it in large sums.

Should I use legacy or segwit keys?
bc1 addresses is the best, but many platforms do not support it.
I suggest you use P2SH[1] type starting with the number (3.)

5905  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Thinking of making list of marketers! or there is one available? on: August 15, 2020, 06:10:22 PM
Even if the list is present, it will not be updated because it does not appear on the front pages.
The disadvantage of such lists is that they need continuous updating, otherwise they will be useless.
If you can update it regularly, then it is okay to create this list.

In general, you can do whatever you want if it is well arranged and does not lead to spam.
5906  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk IP lookup script ?! on: August 15, 2020, 06:03:37 PM
I am using dedicated IP address with OpenVPN protocol + disabled LAN traffic / killswitch. So I'm supposed to get the same state.

This looks similar as mine.
Is there another country or only these two countries?

In my case the country is always correct.
I was getting the same country a few days ago, maybe I need a more detailed search to find out the cause of the problem.

Probably IPs get reassigned between ISPs overtime, and the databases being used to determine the geolocation are not running with the same content nor recency on all their records.
It's strange, the same IP address gave the same city last week. Huh
5907  Other / Meta / Bitcointalk IP lookup script ?! Updated on: August 15, 2020, 01:29:05 PM
Has there been any update in the forum database or how to register the IP address? Because I am getting a wrong geographic IP address location, my IP address location (city)[1] is different from what I was getting in the past or when using some sites like https://www.myip.com/?

Is the problem related to my device or did I forget something?

https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php

Edit: it’s back normally Huh
5908  Other / Meta / Re: Will I be banned if I deleted too many posts at once? on: August 12, 2020, 08:43:39 PM
You may lose your rank if you delete a lot of replies, and you may lose 14 days of activity replies if you delete them during that period.
Generally, your problem seems to be more about Merit than activity so I don't think you will have a problem if you delete some of the responses.

read rules again to know the reasons that may leads you to be banned.
5909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit and why do some people have up to thousands? on: August 12, 2020, 08:32:22 PM
I just got only 1 merit I don't know what it means and I see some profile with thousands of merits. What does it and how does it come?
Next time you are surprised by something about the forum, use the search option, you will find it at the top, type the word (Merit, Trust,..etc) and you will have a lot of discussions about it.
You can also use Google to restrict the search for this forum using site:bitcointalk.org merit.
You can also read the rules for using the forum to avoid problems.
5910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: August 12, 2020, 08:24:31 PM
Such hot headlines only lead to more spam, the forum for bitcoin discussion of and not a way to make a profit.
The same ways in which you can make a profit here are on Twitter, Facebook, and others, because the forum does not pay users, but advertisers exploit members to show their signatures in exchange for a monthly amount and other things.
5911  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New Ledger firmware updates are coming shortly on: August 12, 2020, 08:15:31 PM
Yeah, you are right about that. The way they made their announcement made me think there was another Nano X firmware as well.
The company has lost a lot of its good reputation over the past few days, so unless they update, I expect them to lose part of their market share in the future.
Generally, there is no real competitor for the two companies so development will be very slow. Smiley

It is best to lock the topic because the scammers are looking for updates to scam people into installing malware.

5913  Economy / Services / Re: MisterB's SMS Code Verification Service (OTP) on: August 12, 2020, 07:45:20 PM
Are all the numbers used for OTP or can the number be re-used? will be great if you add reused numbers.
It will be difficult to trust it in some accounts, such as Google accounts, protonmail, and Microsoft, so it is better to provide it for some public services like whatsapp,...etc.

Prices start at $0.50 per code, changes depending on the service and the country.
You need to add more information about the countries in which you can provide the service, and the prices for each country.
5914  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoEarn(.)com - What would you turn it into? on: August 11, 2020, 06:44:08 PM

I think anyone with a top crypto+word.com domain would like a sale right now but given the current economic climate, I see developing more feasible than selling it imho. I did spent a decent amount to acquire the domain (in BTC terms)  and although I've gotten many offers for the domain...they haven't been substantial enough for me to justify letting it go.
I think we will get a new ATH during the next  Year or 2022, so if you want to sell, you will get doubled amounts during that wave.
1000 dollars would be an adventure if you do not know much, so my advice is to start learning and selling the domain in the coming wave.
If you rely on the name only to get the views then this is a failed strategy, and if it is not based on the name, developing something unique takes a lot of time.
5915  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Where does verifying the signature help? on: August 11, 2020, 06:32:27 PM
The short answer is if you cannot verify every line of the code, then you must trust the developers. Verify signature gives you an opportunity to make sure (Not 100%), that the code was signed by the real developer and not scam.
You can verify the signature using several programs, and hacking a site like electrum.org will not pass without making a fuss but again, unless you can read every line in soruce code, you must trust dev.

Cold storage is simply that private keys/wallet seed are created in an environment that does not and will not connect to the Internet, so if the device connects at any moment to the Internet, it will not be considered a cold storage.

BTW: I am currently studying a subject related to probability, but in an advanced way, so if I find some time, I will create some chart for you to the possibility of losing your money if electrum.org hacked, wallet bugs, gpg4win.org, and all of them.
5916  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "How" for basic of this forum on: August 11, 2020, 06:13:40 PM
Unless the topic is sticky in this board, there is no point in creating such topics because they will be lost with the passage of time and turn into spam. I do not advise you to create such topics.
There was a suggestion to create a welcome message for all members of the forum containing some detailed information, but there was no update about it.

In short, unless the administration does some effort to help the beginners, creating topics will not help much, so teach them how to search for an important topic.
5917  Other / Meta / Re: Best place to start in Bitcointalk forum? on: August 10, 2020, 06:41:09 PM
Thank you for quick answer.
I will read the rules first.

Do I have some limitations for posting and writing?
Take your time to get to know more about boards, as there are many sub-boards and others, in short, it is a place for everything related to btc or cryptocurrencies. But you need to search.
Depending on the type of services you want to provide, you will find the appropriate section. You can search using Google or search in this forum. You can also ask and we will help you.
You can also inform mods and they will move it to the appropriate board.
5918  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance.US goes down, assures users funds are safe on: August 10, 2020, 06:36:50 PM
Offices, where a rat would get claustrophobia, are now a proof of legitimacy?
How many times have we heard the same story about Binance?
I hope this ends well, they present themselves as reliable and a lot of them services depend on trust while they try to hide the simplest information from them, it is very strange behavior.

this is them last update:

Quote
For additional clarity, this was not a hack. We noticed an error that was not allowing users to see their orders and we did not want users trading blindly. Fixing this requires suspending platform activities. We will provide additional updates as they become available.

It seems that the technical error is small because I did not find much fanfare about it, but I do not see a strong reason for the orders to be suspended and withdrawn.
5919  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: INTRODUCTION TO CHART FOR NEWBIES on: August 09, 2020, 06:29:56 PM
Excellent topic, you need to learn more about formatting the topic, maybe if you divide the topic, edit the pictures, and then the information will become better.
you will find more information here ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1727100.0
Also, I think you need to mention the source of the images.

Knowing the type of candlesticks will not help in predicting prices, but rather will help in understanding the market now, so I think it is good to start explaining the basics of forecasting, resistance levels, Fibonacci analysis, and others.

5920  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ANN]Multisign Escrow Service for BTC/ETH/USDT Trading on: August 09, 2020, 06:15:59 PM
Buyers /Sellers pay me after the transcation. I believe in my customers, we won't do business just once.
As long as it depends on the trust of customers, why not make the method of financing through donations? There are some successful projects that rely on donations.
I also believe that the costs of running escrow service will be cheap if you gain sufficient trust.
Overall, how will you gain trust? There is no such thing as decentralization and you are suggesting to the parties forms based on trust, such as a multi-signature address.
You can ask some famous people in the forum to manage this service while getting trust, it's the cheapest idea.
