The commandline "shell" mode doesn't work I think. Do individual commands from the unix shell, like

opentxs status

or whatever instead of invoking opentx or ot and doing commands from its own prompt.

In ~/.ot is a commandline mode defaults file where you can set your default server and nym, and other things that you probably don't want to default.

Otherwise you need --server and --mynym and so on on the commandline.

-MarkM-

Some commands work. For example stats, addserver, newnym and so on. But as soon as i have to enter a nym-id or a server-id i dont know what to enter.
For example:
Code:
opentxs> showmarkets
Missing variable: Server. Try adding it as a parameter, like this: --server <SER
VER_ID>
(Or if you prefer, set the default in ~/.ot/command-line-ot.opt)
NOTE: If you DID provide this variable, then the Nym wasn't found.

.
..
...
....
.....

opentxs>

stat shows my nym as "New Nym". And this time i had to enter my password on starting ot too. So the nym is ok i think.

So it seems i have to use it something like showmarkets --server <serverid>
Only thing is, i dont find out how to enter.

I tried:

Code:
showmarkets --server wmY1B8o94PFENzqPVK6wLOLvkog9TvA3GDxZuAMGCpW
showmarkets --server <wmY1B8o94PFENzqPVK6wLOLvkog9TvA3GDxZuAMGCpW>
showmarkets --server 0
showmarkets --server <0>
showmarkets --server <Digitalis>
showmarkets --server Digitalis

It always only shows such errormessages:

Code:
Undefined command: "showmarkets --server Digitalis" -- Try 'list'.

But i dont have a clue what other ID could be meant. Or how i should enter that ID then.
5902  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: September 23, 2013, 11:08:14 PM
Hello,
I'm running cgminer3.4.3 on windows.
I have 24 bitburners XX and 1 X, total 25 boards and 490 chips.

I try to run with the options:
 --avalon-options 115200:49:10:d:300 --bitburner-voltage 1290 --avalon-temp 55 --avalon-cutoff 65 --avalon-fan 80 --queue 4
And cgminer just closes with no error no nothing outputted (nothing also on a cmd line)

But running:
 --bitburner-voltage 1290 --avalon-temp 55 --avalon-cutoff 65 --avalon-fan 80 --queue 4
It mines ok, no problems whatsoever.

What am i doing wrong?

I think your voltage is a bit high. Try lowering imo. I'm running at 400Mhz with 1230 voltage. At 300Mhz i think you are fine with 1200.

Im running 450mhz fine on 1334mV and 28ms Timeout. It translates to 8.8GH per bbxx and 53°C.

@AniceInnovation... You have your avalon-options wrong. The 49 should be 20 and the 10 is the amount of miners you connected via this one usb cable x 2. In my case i have 5 miners on one usbcable i use 10 there. So 20:10:28:450...

By the way... you cant put 49 miners together on one usb-cable. You only can connect 16 miners with one stacking cable. More miners have to be on a own stacking cable with another usb-cable.

Kano did a post here in thread on first of this month were he explains how to access miners explicitely. So that you can run one cgminer for 3 x 16 miners + 1 miner. For one time 16 miners stacked you would use 20:32:28:450 for example. And it doesnt matter if one miner has only 10 chips. Its treated like it has 20 in avalon options.
5903  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 23, 2013, 10:58:53 PM
I think for the future it might be better to constantly take a part away for future investments. So that it isnt squished into a short timeframe and shareprice drops. I mean the investment was long time known before. At least it would be a bit more stable then.

Called out these shares as overpriced at anything over 1BTC months ago. Got shouted down by the Moonflyers. Awful quiet now...

So you try to say that a shareprice that gives you 25% a year on divs is overpriced? And now you feel smart because the price is lower?
5904  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Open Transactions Server: Asset/Bond/Commodity/Cryptocoin/Deed/Share/Stock Exch. on: September 23, 2013, 10:28:04 PM
Since i didnt get the Testserver to run i tried it again with your server. I found that the problem before was the unix linebreak and that OT cant interprete the format when it has no linebreaks. I thought normally that the way xml is built should allow this anyway.
But i now was able to add the digitalis server. Then i added all coins and trade objects available. I added Digitalis as a trade object too again but dont know how to delete again.

But now im stuck. I created a nym by providing a password. Can i change the username afterwards? I dont really understand the command style. For example checknym. When i use that command it tells me to use --mynym and the id. But what id and in what format? I tried 0, the long code and the name of the nym. Its not working. The same goes for showmarkets. Brackets dont help either.

Are there no ripples traded? I have xrp in my ripple account i dont need and want to sell but the owner doesnt tell me why it doesnt work for me. So i thought maybe i can sell it with OT.
5905  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: candoo tried to scam on: September 23, 2013, 08:19:21 PM
It's kinda LOL that he cultivated that account for 2 years hoping to score big, but then fucked it all up Cheesy

I guess character weaknesses cant stay hidden forever. Only sure way to prevent this is to get a better character.
5906  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange [WINDING DOWN] on: September 23, 2013, 08:16:19 PM
Can someone tell me whats the difference between "public BTC address" or my "withdraw address"? Since I only have one btc address (stored on usb stick).

Site wants me to have public btc address set but as of right now I have same address in both fields.

Click on that message. Its a bad made link. Then you will find what the page wants. I didnt find it before too. Sat up withdraw address but still got the message.
5907  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange [WINDING DOWN] on: September 23, 2013, 08:11:49 PM
If you download your csv with portfolio, trades and so on make sure you downloaded what you wanted. I first only got htm-files claiming i was above connection maximum.
5908  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 ordered (Closed) on: September 23, 2013, 07:33:16 PM
I wrote with zefir again and he said the persons in post office said the packet will be taken away from office on monday only. I now have the tracking id and i think the packet will be here tomorrow which would be ideal.
5909  Local / Biete / Re: [Gruppenkauf] Avalon ASIC Chips (SebastianJu) Batch 6 bestellt (geschlossen) on: September 23, 2013, 07:32:14 PM
5910  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: September 23, 2013, 07:14:53 PM
Has anybody heard anything about the building of the bitburner's from sebastian's group buy that got delivered a few days ago, I'm sure i read somewhere that burnin was waiting in line for the machine but apparently he got a slot the other evening.

So why haven't we heard anything or accounts changed on his website or the new asic one from processing? I know he is busy with other things but we paid for products before bitfury.

Burnin told me by phone that when hes lucky the bitburner are ready on wednesday and he could start shipping them. Of course only when the assembler works fast.
Burnin said he was lucky anyway. He brought the chips to the assembler and because they had built a sample bitfury before they didnt have to change the machine much and could start assembling the bitburners then. I believe a previous batch had to wait 1 or 2 weeks until the machine had some time.
5911  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: candoo tried to scam on: September 23, 2013, 07:04:19 PM
Maybe using the publicly available address was a genious idea: he could go all the way "everyone could have used it, it was publicly available, don't blame me".
But then, maybe, he got drunk and forgot about his plan.....

I thought about that possibility soon after i found the emails and that its candoo's address. I mean i know him and i did business with him in the thousands without problems. I even met him in person. So i thought this might be someone hurting him. Thats why i thought i should write pm's to him carefully and find out what he says. Not giving him an excuse from the start. Because i thought when he really did this he probably looked into his wallet, saw that the address was unused and forgot that he already tried to use it. So that my accusation would be a surprise to him. At the end he admitted that he filled the form. I was surprised but i thought its a proof beyond doubt now that he really did it since he stated it himself.
I guess mods can check all the pm to see what was written.
5912  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: September 23, 2013, 06:22:29 PM
I have a problem i dont find the reason for. I mine at bitparking.com and it worked fine for weeks. But the last days it happens that after some time of mining normally the hashrate breaks. Its running at 50% then or even at 25%. The temperature is lower then too. And the status says idled miner...

When i restart cgminer then it runs normally again for a while. So i doubt its the pools fault.

I tried different scan time settings and different queue but i dont see that there is an effect. I restarted rpi too.

What can the problem be? I dont find it. I mean i ran them without problems before.

I had a similar phenomenon with my bitfurys on slushs, since I restart the stratum-proxy every hour everything is ok. In your case I suppose it would mean a restart of the miner (including probable loss of the current workload).

I had cgminer restart again and again but the problem reappeared. Now i restarted everything again, rpi, miner, cgminer and so on and it runs since a day now again without problems. Dont know what the problem was...
5913  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Probleme mit meiner Bitcoin Wallet - Coins weg?!? on: September 23, 2013, 06:19:03 PM
ok, well known adresses sind sicherlich kein datenschutzrechtliches Problem.

5914  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Backward-Auction] 11 BitBurner XX running @ 8.8GH each on: September 23, 2013, 06:08:15 PM
Here is a little quick and dirty price tag, should show the current price. No warranty, use Sebastian's table in the OP to doublecheck. Wink

Cool... thanks for that... Smiley
5915  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Backward-Auction] 11 BitBurner XX running @ 8.8GH each on: September 22, 2013, 11:09:09 PM
Its 22.9. 23:00 UTC - 3.42BTC per Miner. Next hour its 3.41BTC.
5916  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Backward-Auction] 11 BitBurner XX running @ 8.8GH each on: September 22, 2013, 10:42:12 PM
is there any way to add a live clock to this?

I didnt find a way. The only way to find the actual price probably is to check the utc-time (easy with google) and then check the table for the price.
5917  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: candoo tried to scam on: September 22, 2013, 10:41:13 PM
Really? I haven't done any business with candoo. But I just felt the need to post here and tell you that I commend you for the work you have done for the community managing multiple batches of avalon chips.  It sucks that everything with BitSynCom went the way it did, but anyone willing to exploit this set of particularly bad circumstances in order to rip off the community at large is taking things to a new level of disparity and lowliness.

Hope everything goes well for you, can't wait until everything regarding these batches is water under the bridge.

The refunds, batches and chips are safe. Nothing happened since i saw that the address isnt mine. Luckily.
Most of the chips were refunded and already were refunded to the groupbuymembers. 10000 are with burnin already and another 1015 will be shipped to me tomorrow. When i spread them to the buyers the whole groupbuy is over... finally... Smiley
5918  Economy / Scam Accusations / candoo tried to scam on: September 22, 2013, 10:09:25 PM
I thought hard and wrote with others what to do. The problem is that this maybe will destroy his presence here since i know other usernames of him too.

Firstly... he is a hero member and i traded several thousands of euro with him successfully. Even in person. I had the impression he is a fine person and trustworthy. I never had to doubt him.

Thats why i thought alot about what to do. Others told me, and i think its the best thing to do now, that i should warn and write that he behaved good till now. So everyone can make his own picture. I dont have a clue why he tried this scam. It was a saturday so it might be that he was drunk or something shitty like that. But he didnt contact me the next day, what i would have awaited when he really was in a strange state at that time.

What happened?

Yifu, the owner of Avalon decided to allow to refund 10k chip batches of avalon chips. Since i had done a groupbuy that bought 5.6 batches of chips together the batchnumbers were known publicly. The form was not very good. One only had to enter the batchnumber and an address for the refund.

Before i found the email from avalon that refunds are allowed i already got two emails from yifu in my emailaccount. Yifu was asking if he really should refund to an address.

I wondered... i didnt ask for a refund yet. I checked the address with google and found this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=266729.msg2853481#msg2853481

Its candoo offering escrow with that address. That only could mean candoo tried to get the refund from 2 of our batches. Which would mean scamming yifu, me or my groupbuy members.

I made pictures (see above) and i copied the php of the forum post in case he edits the posting. I can provide that if needed.

I then contacted him. The conversation was this way:

Erklärst du mir warum du Avalon Chip batch refunds für unseren batch 1 und 2 auf deine Adresse beantragt hast?
#
Will you explain to me why you requested refund for our avalon chip batches 1 and 2 to your address?

dachte das formular wäre fake
#
I thought the form would be fake.

kam denn was an???
Bitcoin Address:
1AZuwiP1vGfhYLym3cVEgSYEtyUsg8ra7X
Private Key (Wallet Import Format):
*SebastianJu:I censored this out just in case*
#
came something in???
Bitcoin address:
private key...

#
Of course nothing came since i didnt confirm it.
But i have to say that i now are really disappointed. Your explaination is nonsense. Yifu has created such refund forms in the past already and it worked. And he has spread this new form via newsletter. Thats of course no fake. And that you used your own address... im sorry... till now i thought you were trustworthy.

wolte dich nur wecken mit der benachrichtigungsmail;)
#
I only wanted to wake you up with the info mail Wink

Ernsthaft... würdest du dir selbst glauben?
#
Seriously... would you believe yourself?

ne. klingt blöd:D
#
No... sounds silly. Cheesy

#
I guess you forgot that you posted that address already. Man, i dont believe i can leave this standing like this since this says not a small thing about you.

#
I was fully aware of the prominence of the address.

Soso.
#
Soso. And you didnt get the idea to put my batchaddress in so that i get informed? Would you believe yourself this now?
Really, it looks to me like you tried to get the refund, i maybe make an error and click on a confirmationlink. And you only forgot that you already wanted to use that address once.
I dont understand it... transactions with you were always ok... was the reward pot to nice or what was it?

#
No, i only troll around with that account anymore.

#
So its a throw away account where it doesnt hurt when he gets on the scammer list? Really? I thought you work a while on it already. And i know one, two other accounts from you too.
I remain... its disappointing.

#
Why dont you let you refund all five and fly with a tshirt "IAM RICH,BITCH!" to thailand or america. Grin

#
Sorry, i really thought we have similar thoughts about that. But i dont think that this can be cleared now anymore.

#
I troll already again Cheesy its saturday afternoon! Cheesy

Thats all. I didnt have contact with him now anymore. I only noticed he changed his avatar to a dschihadist and throws around reservations about muslims. Looks to me like he creates an explaination of trolling or even a stolen account.
And i believe he had a groupbuy he moved to another user then. I dont have a clue if the new owner is a different person. I only observed it. I copied the timestamps so you can see when this happened.
Anyway... im disappointed because i know him in person.

There might be that he was drunk but then he would have contacted me next day and apologize. Didnt happen. So i doubt thats the explaination.

Ok, i wrote it down so you can make your own picture. Im sorry if that means to destroy a hero member but i think there is no better way.

Candoo has other usernames i know for sure: SOFORTGELD (I thought he had another username that changed Euro<->BTC but i dont find it. Maybe this was his only.)
5919  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 22, 2013, 08:26:04 PM
The more I think about it, the more that warning is a drastic overreaction to a minor issue.

The whole thing has been handled very poorly by Burnside.  I've lost some faith in the exchange because of this whole incident. Making up rules as you go along is not the way to earn my trust.

You only say that because it effects your share price. Labcoin has been acting shady as hell. I say that as a shareholder being unbiased...this warning will make Labcoin re-think pulling the same crap in the future, and know there are consequences.

No, I say that because Burnside has handled it very poorly, acting essentially on whims.

Putting up a warning like that is VERY serious, as was evidenced by the reaction to it.  What was the process for it?

Where is this process documented? Where was it discussed?

Labcoin should be responsive, sure. That in no way absolves Burnside of his far too casual handling of the whole matter.

Today it's Labcoin, but it could be any offering on the site. We don't know when Burnside is going to decide to interpret things however he wants and take essentially random actions.

Burnside gave them multiple opportunities to make good on their promise and they never did. What the hell else was he suppose to do? Keep begging them for weeks/months/years on end and never get a response. All they have to do is provide him with the proof and it's over. But they can't do that!

Burnside most probably sees a responsible for his users. Thats a good sign. And since its hurting him too i doubt he did this slightly. Its generally a very bad idea if things lay down unsolved. I guess im reacting allergic to such behaviour since yifu behaved the same way. I think its a good thing that burnside is behind such things.
Its a simple thing for security issuers. Solve the problem and done.
5920  Economy / Securities / Re: [PicoStocks] 100TH/s bitcoin mine [100th] on: September 22, 2013, 08:10:13 PM
Hm... Asicminer shares normally are priced that high that one could make 25% over a year. This share here now has 100% div in a year. I see a difference to asicminer but still i dont like the shareprice actually. If they had 200TH now already it would be 400% per year. I hope they get it done and that this security is found by more investors. Since they seem to mine already. Thats more than other securities can say.

AM is selling blades at ~4 BTC/10GH.

This security represents 100TH, i.e., 10,000 blades worth of hashpower. That would cost 40,000 BTC to buy.

Market cap:   120526.04077839 BTC

This is provably overvalued. You are getting a 3x better deal by buying ASICMiner blades, and you are likely to lose money on those too.

200TH, right... but the rest you said is the problem one has when you only create a mining ipo instead an ipo that owns its on asic and will grow the mine over time... *sigh* learning money i guess...

Does this also help you understand why you should NEVER use useless metrics like "APR" in evaluating a company's value (unless it's a bank)? This applies to ASICMiner.

APR varies wildly with the rapidly shifting margins. Current APR suggests noting about future APR.

Asicminer is different from this security here. They have their own asic and can produce hashpower at cost. Its the same here maybe, when the contracts are so, but this company is like buying hardware and run it to death. Asicminer instead is something that grows constantly. Calculating the divs for a year makes way more sense there than here.
