5901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another newb post, if you don't ask you don't get, HI! on: October 20, 2019, 03:53:06 AM
I'd rather lean to holding than mining, to be honest. With the costs of the mining hardware plus the electricity costs and the halving about to come in near 2020, holding seems a lot more advantageous right now. There is also the issue of heat management and a place able to handle the amount of electricity needed, otherwise you might cause an outage when you nonchalantly prepare mining equipment somewhere. There's also the cost for constant management of it meaning constant investment continuously. I you can support the costs, then you may do so but I'd honestly just invest in bitcoin instead.
5902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst Day of My LIFE - Dice on: October 20, 2019, 02:41:53 AM
You shouldn't have tried to borrow mate. I know the feeling though. The moment where you just keep rolling and rolling and doubling your bets without a care in the world. I doubt many gamblers havent felt that feeling, but I certainly have. Though it really is a bad habit to have not gonna lie. If you ever plan to borrow, at the very least, prepare something to fall back on. At least, you wouldn't be at this point where ur burried in debts and having a hard time.
5903  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Kelan dapat magtrade at hindi magtrade? on: October 20, 2019, 02:15:06 AM
Akala ko tungkol to sa pag bear and bull market, pag may dump and pump ng mga whales, iba pala. Well, tama naman si OP. Dapat magtrade lang kapag kalmado ka, emotions are in place, well rested, para makapag read ka ng charts and predict in your own way kung pano ka mag ttrade. Add ko lang though na most should trade in your own discretion. Believe in others, but don't follow them. Gawin mo yung sarili mong desisyon. Di ka naman pagmamayari nila na para sundan mo lahat ng predictios nila, may utak ka naman eh, feel free to use it. And if kapareho ng prediction mo yung prediction nila, it is totally fine. As long as decision mo yun, feel free to do so.
5904  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie welcome video on: October 19, 2019, 03:50:08 PM
You guys could put this into a must-watch when creating an account here. At least, newbies wouldn't have the excuse of "I didn't read about it" or "I didn't know" about it. Recommendations would probably be instead of the forum itself put up let's say drawings I guess? The explanation was clear and the voice is hearable enough and clear. You could also try a bullet type of important things to note when discussing each thread I suppose? Heck if I only knew how to animate stuff I would've tried to create a beginner's guide filled with drawings and such.
5905  Other / Meta / Re: Urgent moderation request! on: October 19, 2019, 03:09:04 PM
You keep saying that the project or thread isn't a scam and you also kept saying that you had some transactions or conversations with the USPTO yet all of these claims came from your mouth. We're in the internet and you can't really expect us to trust everything you say without claims and backups? Besides, the post was accused as a scam because the original OP wasn't able to give out the information that could prevent the scam accusations. You keep talking about reporting, banning and such yet you can't even provide a simple piece of evidence about it. No one is gonna believe you if you just spout threats, self-proclaimed events that are without evidence and don't even expect to get your request approved.
5906  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IMPORTANT NEWBIES ADVICE! For your own safety! on: October 19, 2019, 02:27:40 PM
Is this possible? I've never tried TeamViewer but I have let someone see what I'm doing while doing something for him. Is it possible for him to do something to my pc then and there? I don't have plans to let someone control my pc using Teamviewer but what could he possibly do even if you gave him access? You're monitoring it for the whole time he's controlling your pc unless you're an idiot and left him to do his thing without monitoring it. I would naturally hide my important files and such inside a deeply hidden folder so that he would need to take a few steps to open it. This would inform me that he is trying to find something and I could easily terminate the connection right? What im worried about is if its possible to send malware or the like when using teamviewer hiddenly without the owner knowing even though the sender is being monitored.
5907  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get rid of this spam junk on: October 19, 2019, 01:28:00 PM
This took a lot of time for me to understand not gonna lie. From what I take you're asking if the only layer involved in the profit making of spam projects is when investors invest in it. If there are no investors involved, then no such spam projects could be made, Right? Well, there are probably a lot more underlying layers there since they can't really infinitely spam if the process was that simple. Besides, most spams themselves are just scams so and the website, whitepaper and such can easily be made by copying off of others and editing it by a little bit. They basically make their own and profit from scamming others so its free profit.
5908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Contest on: October 19, 2019, 12:20:19 PM
I actually wanted to go for E-sport, NBA and Soccer but couldn't so opted for E-Sports and Soccer instead. Soccer is a famous sport and alot of people watch it, pretty much can be said the same for NBA but I still wanted to go for soccer so yep personal preference. I chose E-sport cause it is a growing community and in the future, a lot of possible games could pop up and join the E-sports so it is actually quite a large community when you take note of that. Plus, it's less demanding with the players physical ability but more on analytical, timing, combo, etc etc so a lot of people could potentially join in and enjoy.
5909  Economy / Economics / Re: Texas Bitcoin Mining Startup With $200 Million To Steal China’s Crypto Crown on: October 19, 2019, 11:36:48 AM
I just hope they are able to reduce the dominance of china in the mining industry of Bitcoin. And I'd take their perspective on the chups to be on s bottleneck to be true. The market is pretty much saturated already since most big companies have mining powers close to each other and even if there are differences with the quality, they're almost close to negligble. Quality is done, it is time for quantity to lead the way
5910  Local / Pilipinas / Re: 18 million bitcoin na mina na!!! on: October 19, 2019, 08:42:10 AM
Nakakaamaze na naforesee ni Satoshi yung developments till now na related sa mining ng bitcoin. Sure, yung adoption, price and such ay nakakamangha since super taas niya but yung concept, the whole concept itself ng mining bitcoins and how halvings occur, formulas involved, coding itself is pretty amazing. Kahit na nabuild up yung the rest with the help of the community, just building the foundation itself is awesome itself.
5911  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where will this fluctuation end ? on: October 19, 2019, 06:41:38 AM
I doubt it would end and I doubt it even could. With how much its supply is still being released and is still demanded even now. Fluctuations in prices can't really be helped since it is volatile for a reason. As for the old question bull or bear, well that depends on the market itself. We may make predictions and such but we still can't tell if it would bull or bear.
5912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I know is some scam but I am not seeing the full scope. Can someone help? on: October 19, 2019, 05:42:48 AM
Just by the fact that she uses a fake instagram account and false information regarding website information, you should've already noticed it was a scam. Sadly, you didn't perform any research prior to the investment which could be, well, partly your fault. They could let it grow and grow in the surface since you don't have it anymore, but in reality, your funds were already lost the moment you gave it to her. You should probably put up a review about it in some review sites or at the very least spread the word about it through forums such as this.
5913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fair bet on: October 19, 2019, 01:38:42 AM
Bro, thats a miniscule amount of chance to win with just you guys doubling my bey when I win? Isn't that just absolute bs? I'd have probably lost a few times before even winning once. Id rather go play dice or bet on sports instead of this. Even you guessing the last digit gurantees only a 1/10 chances of winning, how much so for the last 4 digits.
5914  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is fortunejack.com a Scam or are they Legit? on: October 18, 2019, 12:31:20 PM
You can try reasoning first with their customer support and explaining your situation to them. Going here and asking if they are a scam or legit isn't gonna really help you resolve your problem since even if they are, they aren't gonna return your deposit. Answering your question, yes, they are a legit gambling site that is pretty heavy with the existence of bitcoin. Try contacting their customer support mate, should resolve your problem
I expect na either mag kakaroon ng equal reputations itong dalawa sa China at the very least.
5916  Economy / Speculation / Re: BULL VS BEAR on: October 18, 2019, 11:12:32 AM
Well, I sure do hope a bear right now. Although based on recent changes of the market, BTC is just moving sideways with a bit of up and downs here and there but nothing too heavy. Also, some of the statements you said doesn't necessarily affect the price much. Bitcoin is a bit eccentric at times when the market changes so you can't really predict it at times. If you do though, its most likely because of a recent huge event that pushed up the price like what people most expected with BAKKT launch. A lot of  us expected BTC price to hike up then and there but it was a disappointment to all of us sadly enough.
5917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus game: Manchester United VS Liverpool on: October 18, 2019, 09:49:35 AM
You can already see just from the betting sites that people have lost hope with MU winning against Liverpool. You can see that they have had a bad start this season and watching their games, you can see that they have quite bad forms and the era where MU brought fear to the other teams has already passed. A lot of people are expecting Liverpool to win already. Heck, you can't even see any site that gives out a higher chance for MU winning or at least, bringing it to a draw against Liverpool.
5918  Other / Meta / Re: Necro-bumping to encourage members to return to a forum, on: October 18, 2019, 08:10:09 AM
Wouldn't the idea be considered as spam in itself already? Though if it were let's say every few years im up for it. It could be a great idea but I doubt that those who left would even forget about bitcoin talk so much that they'd need an email to return. They would return when they want to but I seriously doubt most would return because of an email alert about bitcointalk itself.

I mean those that have left (abandon) the forum, the forum is doing quite great without them.
I'm an active member, and I don't think the forum is "doing great". There's still a massive spam problem (which is most likely the reason most members left), flags and the trust system are confusing, and though I like the laissez-faire attitude, others may not enjoy the lack of handholding.

A section for new members in order to introduce them to the various systems of the forum would be good.
I doubt the new members would even try to understand the information attached to that section. Most new members are just made to spam spam spam spam spam and only a select few even try to participate and contribute to the forum.
5919  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin: "Maybe Is a Partial Store of Value" on: October 18, 2019, 07:23:23 AM
This a little bit funny. While admitting that Bitcoin can be a store of value -- at least partially -- Mr Roubini remains adamant on his old position against Bitcoin, in other words nothing has changed despite his admission which can just be influenced by people he was with in that conference. Well, as they are saying, there will always be two sides to the coin and in any human innovations there will be people whose role is to warn of possible impeding doom if we continue the change we are into. I have a great respect for this man because he is actually making some sense in many areas and I think we should also give space for people like him as their inputs can still be useful. However, don't get me wrong, it does not mean we have to follow what he is saying.

So is it really partial or full?

[/quote]
Well, at least he is starting to consider bitcoin functioning as a store of value. It's actually healthy that there are oppositions regarding the world of bitcoin, crypto, blockchain or anything related to it. It brings about progress and stimulates every participant to think about it, to refute about something they don't agree, and by the end, be forced to agree that the winning party is right cause they couldn't argue anything anymore against him.

I'd rather think of its function as a full store of value. It just currently cannot be easily seen as one because the supply still hasn't reached its limits. Once bitcoin has reached its last drop of supply, we can at the very least consider it as full store of value since its value should stabilize by then.
5920  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Very Helpful on: October 18, 2019, 06:50:39 AM
Luckily enough this ain't a gaming forum mate. Though you could still see nonsensical posts here, you can just read the first 2-3 pages worth of comments and you'd be learning really quickly since most of them are filled up with answers that are backed up with real knowledge and can argue with others. Besides, just watching and reading isn't really enough with learning since you always have questions that are too specific for google to answer, and this forum right here is for you to ask into and receive some helpful insights from a lot of people.
