~snip~
There is a silver lining in every cloud. Sorry for the loss for the crypto market, e touch everibodi I nor go lie you. Sometimes me sef dey weak to open Binance or any crypto app. But nothing spoil because as e be now na who get live get hope... as e red this year, e go soft for is next year. I get better expectation for this If this ALGORAND and FIFA partnership because I sabi the implication- if fit do 3x in like 3 days.
Na so, na to move on remain now.
this morning when I been the reason the whole market situation and the loses incurred, something we're drop for my mind were come make me smile again which is, since we made all the money from crypto, we should see every loses in crypto as a sacrifice or tite that we pay for a greater tomorrow. And since we have life there is hope and na me hustle the money and I go hustle more and when market becomes favorable I will earn more than enough to cover for the loss. This period na period to learn be this and we should not trust altcoins for the long term base if it is bitcoin at least the loss will be minimal compared to some altcoins whose prices have gone down above 80%.
But ALGORAND may not see the exposure many of its holders are expecting from their partnership with FIFA, even though FIFA is a global football body with many fans we must not expect anything judge by crypto relations with any centralized body. because FIFA may end up not giving the project the exposure we all are anticipating seeing from this partnership.

5924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don’t make any crazy/suicidal moves in this bear market on: November 18, 2022, 10:53:47 PM
Even though this warning has been sounded a couple of time, some people will still leave the assets on an exchange, I use to know a friend who stored all his bitcoin on binance and I always advise him against that because with an exchange, you don't have right over your coins and the exchange can lock you out of your account at any time because you don't have the wallet keys.

5926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much was your last big win? on: November 18, 2022, 06:05:45 PM
My last winning was only $62 from sportsbet. I placed a bet on cricket and won 62$ for just $15.  But even though $62 is a low reward, I'm happy with it.  Because I won that bet.  So that's a big bonus for me, because I bet it just adds to my fun.  But when I win those bets, that winning really gives me a lot of joy.
This is a very exciting winning, last weekend a won similar amount in my local currency from a sports bet and that gave me some form of joy and excitement so I understand how you feel about winning that $62. I have also placed some bets this weekend most especially on world cup matches and I also increased my stake amount to a great extent, am hopeful when the match is played I should win a bigger amount this time.
5927  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: November 18, 2022, 03:33:36 PM
Wetin happen don teach us one very important lesson again say, "one person, company nor suppose get too much power so tey e fit influence, affect or impact the whole industry and world either negatively or positively". I just dey wonder whether say at any time the CEO of this Nestcoin ever feel say this kind thing go fit happen to their investment. Make una shook mouth for the matter.

Dem no get sense, make dem use people wey dey cryptocurency join body so dem go dey give dem advise  but no na just so so professional wey no get any experience for crypto dem go dey use. Anybody wey dey cryptocurency for a very long time know say exchange aren't to be trusted, even as big as binace dey self, no keep your money for their exchange or use any of their investment products as if your money dey d exchange and e go down. Them fit just run away and nothing you go fit do. The industry dey unregulated and only few with the right information they wins this guys for court when something like this happen.

Make we just dey careful as this effect never do anything yet. I see plenty project going down soon and all go be because of this FTX issues. You see projects like Solana, FTX been get plenty hand for the project and we dun dey see already the project dey take a major hit as this thing happen. E go take God for that project not to go down. I just dey pity those wey go lose their jobs because of this.
The matter don tie rapper oooo, as e dey be so many things are getting effected by this whole FTX crisis more than what we thought the result of the crisis will be from the beginning, so many business will still face a lot from tho whole FTX crisis, but losing jobs at this point is very unfortunate for the project employees. One thing I will like us to understand is that, losing money in the cryptocurrency space are an unavoidable thing, we all must lose something at some point since the cryptocurrency industry is new and a lot need to be learned. The only thing we can do is to try as much as possible to minimize our risk level by holding our assets in a private wallet and never trusting any third party to the point of leaving large amounts of our money with them. And also we need to be more calculating in our approach to investment and we should also take all cryptocurrency projects aside from Bitcoin as none custodial investments since the project CEO or regulators' decisions can affect everything at whatever point without the investors having the chance to do anything about their money.
5928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zero KYC tolerance gambling platforms on: November 18, 2022, 10:04:17 AM
You only see gambling sites without KYC on a platform when you are playing with crypto. And even then you have no certainty whether you can continue to play anonymously. Especially nowadays many sites are a big fan of the implementation of the KYC system. An easy way to slow down certain processes. What is also very irritating is that many sites indicate that they do not use KYC and then start talking about the KYC after a larger profit. And gambling sites happily all get away with that.
Yes.   You are totally right on is very statement If yours, as it has now become like a new strategy to delay payment of huge profit of most new casinos now our days, knowing the fact that not everybody loves to share is very important. But in most cases, all these are always started in the casino's "terms & condition", of which most people always neglect reading it, which is why for read to create an account on any new casino, always ensure you DYOR

Both of you made a very valid point most especially when it comes to casino that does not require KYC from the start but have it written in its terms and conditions that KYC may be required at any point in time. What I always understand is that, if I read through the T&C of some casinos and see these kinds of rules that state that KYC can be demanded in the course of my game session, I will just make up my mind if I want to give out my information or not. At some point, we as a player that want to go online should make one choice. Either to maintain privacy or give up our privacy by giving out data that allow third party to get access to our data and information.

If everyone forgets crypto, yes the bull will come  Cheesy
How do you mean, and what do you mean by if everyone forgets crypto the bull will come?
Are you saying a bull run is a result of few individual's participation and having a wider public adoption of bitcoin will limits the possibility of a bull run, what I think is, we should try and look away from the anticipated bull run and focus on Bitcoin adoption for a while, of the article is anything to go by, then 30% of the general public buying Bitcoin is a big number and addition to Bitcoin adoption rate. But then since we can't rely on speculations from the media, we can do nothing but wait to see the reality of things as time progress and we move closer to the speculated time.
5930  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If this is all a project has to offer run and don't look back on: November 17, 2022, 07:47:54 PM
The reason for not learning comes from two things:

  • They think profit is easy, especially with the stories of people who bought $100 and made $10,000 without effort.
  • Fear of catching up with the train, especially if the price rises sharply, or fear of risk if the price drops sharply.

It is these psychological factors that make the initial investment emotional, and random and involve a risk that we cannot control the results of.
Those physiological factors are also the reasons why newbies need evaluation and revaluation of everything thrown at them from the market, trying to make 10x profits effortlessly is what has resulted into miss guided investment that has led many to lose their funds in projects that are designed just to steal from investors. And this gullible character is also what makes some invest in Ponzi scheme that brands themselves as cryptocurrency projects and this has been the major feature of the altcoin market like Bitcoin that can be easily held for a long term base without worries of totally losing all your money as we can see in altcoin were some coins can go from 100 to zero within a short time
5931  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦉 Owl.games 🦉 Web 3.0 Crypto Casino & Sportsbook - BTC-Metamask-Walletconnect on: November 17, 2022, 06:36:26 PM
And OWL.games presents itself as number 1 WEB 3.0 casino, their token is stable, so I don't really understand why I shouldn't play in such a casino?

I read through this entire piece but I can't make anything out of you last paragraph, are you you saying owl is a good choice since you mentioned that their the number one web3 casino and also hard a stable coin, or you are trying to express some form of doubt in the casino as the top web3 casino?

5933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: November 17, 2022, 03:21:15 PM
I figure that he’s pretty convinced that either the prolonged downward trend will reverse soon, or that his past buying the dip type purchases were not close to the intended bottom, so perhaps he considers making daily purchases will have less of a risk.

I still believe that managing public funds as he is, the country’s citizens are entitled to some degree of transparency that is being constantly denied in terms of where the bitcoins are being stored, how, and exactly where every purchase is coming from in terms of budget (It can’t all be attributed to the initial Bitcoin Trust they created to give liquidity to the Chivo System).

You are right, the management of the funds and were the money El Salvador president intends to use in purchasing the entire El Salvador Bitcoins holdings should be made public so that the citizens can hold them accountable when and if anything goes wrong. El Salvador is a country and not a personal business that there will not be data and current state of things as regards to the Bitcoin president have purchased since the adoption of Bitcoin as a legal tender over a year ago. The lack of public data and information as regards El Salvador Bitcoin adoption and holdings has limited a lot of research from other cryptocurrency communities who are constantly following the El Salvador Bitcoin adoption and development since over a year ago, that is why we have limited data and information at our disposal to analyze or established a good discussion on Bitcoin adoption and it impacts on the economic developments of countries around the world and all eyes are on El Salvador since El Salvador is the first country to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender.
That being said the bad side of this is that we can't tell if the El Salvador Bitcoin holdings are held on a private wallet owned and controlled by an individual who could be the president, or there is an official wallet since El Salvador already have government-approved KYC Chivo wallets, The lack of transparency in all this due to lack of information and data for public consumption has led to speculations and attacks from the president political opponents who may champion a campaign against the decision of the president to adopt Bitcoin since the government purchase is at a loss ever since their first Bitcoin purchase and the economic implication of
Of this on the citizens.
5934  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: November 16, 2022, 10:28:19 PM
There is a Twitter user @jpnLedger who often shares his impressions of the Lightning adoption in El Salvador. El Salvador is currently hosting a summit @AdoptingBTC

Quote
A Lightning Summit in El Salvador // Nov 15-17 // 100% of profits go to Bitcoin education in El Salvador

@jpnLedger said that bitcoin adoption in El Salvador has grown significantly and when attending this summit, he made many purchases with the help of Lightning, namely, he paid the immigration fee, paid for a taxi, paid for food and accommodation in El Salvador:

I guess this is one of the many primary bitcoin adoptions in El Salvador being able to settle migration and taxes fees with Bitcoin is a big relief to many that have been following this discussion on El Salvador's Bitcoin adoption, and seeing that the rate of adoption has grown significantly among retail businesses make the ease of transacting with Bitcoin more appealing in El Salvador. This also came as a relief from many worries about the success and state of El Salvador's Bitcoin position since we are in a mid of a bearish market and a lot of fomos around the cryptocurrency industry resulting from exchange collapse and other incidents that have affected investors and users motivation toward hold digital assets.
5935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHOULD I GO AHEAD TO BUY AND HOLD SOLANA? on: November 16, 2022, 05:16:06 PM
Guys, what's your opinion about SOL? Is it a good buy or heading in the same direction as LUNA
I advise you if you are in for short-term investment then you should avoid altcoins and since Luna has already crashed once there is every likelihood that same will happen again. The only coin I can find now is Bitcoin and that is if I have a good entry price if not I will just keep holding my present assets, but going in the direction of Luna for me is not an option right now.

You should always include links to external information shared in this forum so that other members can verify your news since the entire cryptocurrency market in is shambles since the hack of big exchanges. But above all, only invest what you can afford to lose even if CZ already advised the same.
5937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much was your last big win? on: November 16, 2022, 01:33:00 PM
MY last big win was $800 in last month. and i won it from dice . i was roll for $400 and set profit 2% and win/loss 50/50. I lost all my money here and re-deposited the remaining $400 there and I angrily bet all my remaining dollars there.  But then my luck was good so I won and make my money 2x in 1 min
You were very lucky then to have won up to $800 in just one bet, I have been trying my luck in football predictions but luck have not been on my side to win such a big amount, the last I won was around $50 and that was a long time ago. For now, I may choose to stay away from football prediction and start playing real gambling games to see if I can win because of my basic skill in some games and I am expecting to win.

5939  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ftx Will trigger something more people now dont trust nothing on: November 15, 2022, 08:28:56 PM
The FTX scandal scared retail investors or anyone with smaller pockets that want to get into crypto.
But crypto is not going anywhere just because a centralized exchange failed.
Just like the other moments, we will also go through this one.
Adaption of decentralization is inevitable. Crypto is the future, Just need to get rid of bad actors.

If you have some time to search a decentralized exchange please do so because relying too much your crypto on a CEX is not a good thing especially if you plan to use it for too long. I can't say there's a perfect exchange since the risk will always be present no matter what. The only important is you know how to deal with these exchanges if ever you have to use another exchange in the future, always use the reputable one but also be responsible and wise at the same time.
I think decentralized or centralized storing funds on an exchange is not advisable, and if you have a cold wallet better store your assets on it rather than risk them in the hands of a third party like an exchange. The issue with trust in the cryptocurrency industry is all about the exchange and since there have been one or many hack incidences resulting from the exchange it's better to keep off from them for a while and only use them when you want to exchange a coin to another and not storing your funds on them.
5940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is about to pump on: November 15, 2022, 06:10:56 PM
I see general misconceptions and misuse of words as the title of this thread does not correspond with the message in ops. First I don't want to believe that we still have users who do not have adequate knowledge of Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market, and they tend to relate and associate bitcoin with some Ponzi bubble that is about to burst. This is why so many newbies have the wrong knowledge that made them jump on any project that promises 100× return and jump in on Bitcoin when the price is high and when it dropped then they begin to call it a bubble since there will be loss a huge in the process. We need to have basic knowledge of the subject matter of cryptocurrency and how the market work as an investor, or a trader.
