5941  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost password on: August 08, 2016, 07:26:25 PM
I like the Electrum wallet. Do I delete the existing wallet, reinstall it and then restore using the seed words?
No, there is no need to reinstall anything.

Start Electrum. Then go to File > New/Restore. Name your wallet, click OK and then the wallet creation wizard should pop up. Choose the option to "Restore a wallet or import keys". Then follow the rest of the instructions in the wizard.
5942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to import private key to Bitcoin Core? on: August 08, 2016, 07:00:51 PM
You should see the address in File > Receiving Addresses.
5943  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost password on: August 08, 2016, 06:55:23 PM
I have the seed words. Honestly, I don'r even remember it asking me to set up a password initially. I only discovered this when went to move some of my btc and it asked me for a password.
With the seed words, you can restore your wallet. Just make a new wallet and choose the option to restore a wallet.
5944  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: transaction not confirmed on: August 08, 2016, 05:55:49 PM
Using blockchain app on Mobile.
When I try to send this message appears.

Account balance is 0.01555668

I think the attempt to make the transfer 0.015 blocked my balance.
Right, so blockchain.info is probably confused now by the RBF transaction. You might have to wait a bit for it to sort everything out. You can also try contacting their support and see if they can help you.
5945  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: transaction not confirmed on: August 08, 2016, 05:47:22 PM

I tried to send 0.015 and did not work .
The message : Precious tx is unspendable

I think this transaction is blocking

Thank You
How did you try to send it?
5946  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: transaction not confirmed on: August 08, 2016, 04:31:08 PM
Thank you,
I managed to cancel the wallet and the value returned.

When I tried to make a second transaction paying the fees appeared spent double error.

I believe we need to reverse the payment and wait for the transaction out of blockchan

https://blockchain.info/tx/e97f03832a4db1c6f2d604a0a7c2f55016c694c8cffdd4d6d401d1a53dec89ae

Do you think better to wait a few days to try to use the balance?

Thank you for your help.

Grateful
It is not possible to reverse the payment. The transaction is not in the blockchain. Blockchain.info simply says that it is a double spend because it is; an RBF transaction is a double spend. It's fine, the transaction has been broadcast, you just need to wait for it to confirm. What blockchain.info says does not really matter.
5947  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: transaction not confirmed on: August 08, 2016, 04:03:15 PM
Thanks for the answers,

The first transaction was the qt bitcoin wallet for the blockchain.
So you are using Bitcoin Core? If so, follow this guide for removing the transaction and resending it: http://www.achow101.com/2016/07/Bitcoin-Core-Troubleshooting#stuck-tx

I can pay a fee for some mined help me? I believe that confirming the first second will be confirmed as well.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve?

Grateful
Yes, there are a few miners who can do that. IIRC the user macbook-air is a mining pool manager here and you can contact him to see if he can do anything to confirm your transactions.
5948  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: transaction not confirmed on: August 08, 2016, 03:32:23 PM
Your fees for the first transaction are too low. You may be able to do an RBF transaction, it depends on your wallet. What wallet do you use?

The second transaction is unconfirmed because the first transaction is unconfirmed. If you make an RBF transaction for your first transaction and it confirms, the second transaction will be invalidated and you will need to resend it but spending from the RBF transaction.
5949  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tierion REST API HELP on: August 08, 2016, 01:12:02 PM
This is first time, I'm working on API and its really painful. I'd really appreciate if you can write code to authenticate. I'm sure, I can write GET, POST command thereafter.

The code is right there. Just look at my earlier post. The first two code blocks are the code that you should remove from your script. The last block is what you should add right after
Code:
$curl = curl_init($service_url);
5950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 3 months - still unconfirmed on: August 08, 2016, 01:21:26 AM
I've researched the different RBF/CPFP methods however I'm having a hard time understanding how to perform the CPFP.
Could you explain or provide a resource on how to execute such a transaction? What tools/software do I need?

Im a complete noob when it comes to manual transactions.

Thank you for your help!
You can try using my fee booster software: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1506632.0. You just need to enter the raw of the stuck transaction, follow the instructions, and it will give you an unsigned transaction. Then you sign that transaction in your wallet and broadcast it. Instructions for signing the transaction depends on the wallet you use.
5951  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to Reinstall Linux on: August 07, 2016, 06:14:20 PM
Ok, I tried that, and it asks for the account name to login, which I have no idea, then the password, for which I do know.
The account name is probably root

So it did not work. Let me ask you this, if I reinstall Ubuntu from a USB ISO, will that permanently delete the admin that is stored on here now? Through Guest session, this comp works 50% great. I say that only because everything works, but not for admin set. I want to reinstall Ubuntu fresh with no admin, where I can make changes I need to accordingly.
You can install ubuntu again but it may not fix your problem unless you do a clean install. If you install over your current install, it may retain the issue there as settings, files, etc. are still kept.
5952  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to Reinstall Linux on: August 07, 2016, 06:00:42 PM
You can't sudo under the guest account because it doesn't have permissions to use sudo.

Try hitting ctrl + alt + f1. That will take you to the TTY (a text only console, basically the terminal). Then try logging in as root there and do whatever you need to do. You can also fix the problem you are having with logging in if you can figure out the right commands to fix it; I don't know how you would do that though.
5953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wallet notification not working for multisig address on: August 07, 2016, 05:56:43 PM
Solution 2
I can create 2 of 3 multisig address for every user in my website using "addmultisigaddress" command. And I can get wallet notification
Problem : I can spend BTC from account without signing transation using "sendfrom" command. So here what is meaning of multisig ?
Again, you are doing it wrong, as I have been telling you. If all of the keys of the multisig address are in the same wallet, then that will work. Otherwise it will not. This is detracts from the point of multisig.

You can suggest me alternative way (as i told you I am new in bitcoin)
Use electrum and because using a deterministic wallet for this is better. You should not reuse addresses and a deterministic wallet makes it easier to organize and recover backups.
5954  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: alternative for a bitcoin fork/rollback on: August 06, 2016, 09:57:03 PM
found the button and moved it.

you got the idea. i was thinking about the possibility that the mines spend the coins from the hackers address to a bitfinex address. they usually write transactions from a to b. so i thought they could also write a transaction where they force the attacker to send it back. i figuerd it would work fine if the majority was for it and i did not saw my mistake. I think i do now.
the miners do not have the private key of the hackers address to sign it. so this whole idea of mine would not result in a valid block. Am i right?

Theoretically it is possible. In every single Bitcoin full node there would need to be an exception coded for the block and txid of the transaction which returns the funds. Under every other circumstance, it would be considered invalid, and for anyone that is writing Bitcoin transaction validation code, it would be an annoyance to have to keep that exception there.
5955  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi , what are some ways a btc newbie can make some coins? on: August 06, 2016, 09:38:11 PM
Say I have no skills that can translate into online world , other then faucets , what are some other ways (can't find any signature for newbies , I rather not do that until I am high up in ranks) ?
Sell stuff. If you have some junk lying around your house, try selling it and you can get some Bitcoin that way. One man's junk is another man's treasure.

You could also make things and try selling those.
5956  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitstamp fiat deposit safety on: August 06, 2016, 09:06:45 PM
The fiat is stored in their bank account. Usually their bank will take care of any fraud and such. The money is also usually insured. Since fiat is controlled by a central authority, then can easily reverse fraudulent transactions. Your fiat will be fine. On the other hand, with Bitcoin, you should only keep on the exchange as much as you are willing to lose.
5957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: wallet notification not working for multisig address on: August 06, 2016, 08:09:38 PM
A multisig address would ideally require multiple signatures from keys that are not stored in your wallet. That is the whole point of multisig. So, you would ideally have one key on the server wallet, one key locally on your desktop, and one key on a piece of paper locked up somewhere. Thus, if your server is hacked, no one can steal the Bitcoin from the multisig address. However, in order to spend, you must manually process the transaction.

Yes you are right knightdk . Then How can I implement multisig address for my every users? (As I mentioned in question "I want to develop BTC wallet website where my user can create BTC address and can send and receive BTC.....") Many website provide multisig address to their user and how they manage that manual process ?
They don't. AFAIK, typically it's one private key that is the user's that is encrypted. Then another private key is the service's private key. The last key is given to the user at account creation and that key is to be kept offline. When sending, it's done automatically. The user's browser decrypts the encrypted keys and signs. Then it passes the half-signed transaction to the server which signs it as well. Then it is broadcast to the network.

Usually they use BIP32 to generate the keys so that only three root keys are needed. Bitcoin Core doesn't do this yet, but Electrum does.

More important if they create multisig address using `addmultisigaddress` command then that address is attached one particular account which is saved in wallet.dat file. and it is possible to send BTC from that account by `sendfrom` command. there is no need to sign transaction using that keys. So where is multi signature security / functionality? Here I can send BTC from any account, doesn't matter that address is multisig or normal addresss.

I think I have to create multisig address using `addmultisigaddress` command. Please correct me if i am wrong because i don't find any security of multisig address if it is multisig address created by `addmultisigaddress` command.
Unless all three private keys necessary to spend from the multisig address are in the wallet, then it should not be possible to send from that address. If Bitcoin Core is somehow doing that, then the transaction will be invalid.
5958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Get transactions that funded a particular address? on: August 06, 2016, 07:54:54 PM
No there is not.
5959  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC wallet with interest? on: August 06, 2016, 05:47:37 PM
IIRC HaoBTC offers interest.
5960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to import/upgrade really old wallet.dat file? on: August 06, 2016, 01:56:28 PM
If for some reason -upgradewallet doesn't work, the source for the older versions is available.  Likewise, pywallet is an option to extract the keys if needed.

E.g. these are links to the pages where various versions are available:
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/tags?after=v0.3.23
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/tags?after=v0.5.0rc3

so you could download, compile, then send to a new address.  Or go version 0.3.x to 0.4.x (which, iirc is where the format changed).

Whatever you do at this point, make a few backup copies of your wallet.dat just to be safe.

I tried the upgradewallet command and got this result:
Quote
Method not found (code -32601)

"upgradewallet" is no longer listed in the available commands when I type "help".
It is not an rpc command but rather a startup option.

See http://www.achow101.com/2016/07/Bitcoin-Core-Troubleshooting#option-startup for help on how to start Bitcoin Core with startup options. Use the -upgradewallet option instead of whatever example I wrote in that link.
