5941  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: opinion on possible fraud attempt - user pastory99 on: April 10, 2012, 08:29:37 PM
Since he is continuing to (attempt) to scam (unsuccessfully, so far), does that allow the use of the scammer tag? Or does that require a confirmed successful scam followed by additional attempted scams?

5942  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: GPU (5850) / CPU / MOBO / PSU - SALE on: April 10, 2012, 04:41:40 PM
Warranty for the CPU too?  Grin
And is the fan for the cpu included?
5943  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 15 BTC Loan Over 14 Days - 10% on: April 10, 2012, 02:54:33 PM
That sounds better  Smiley. We have a long history of loans going awry, so all caution is needed when dealing with one.
5944  Economy / Auctions / Re: 7-day auction: 1784.38 BTC in Shakaru debt on: April 10, 2012, 02:52:22 PM
Actually, you could sell this loan to one of those collection agents if I'm not wrong. Why no one has taken this route yet?
5945  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: GPU (5850) / CPU / MOBO / PSU - SALE on: April 10, 2012, 02:44:56 PM
Might be interested in the CPU. Escrow available right?
5946  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 15 BTC Loan Over 14 Days - 10% on: April 10, 2012, 02:40:42 PM
No... Not another one of those loans...
Please read this thread first : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75742.0

Do you have any rep/ id we, the loaners can identify?
5947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MTGox Green Address Withdraw time on: April 10, 2012, 06:08:38 AM
Anyone else did a green address transfer on mtgox before?
Yes, I have once before. It showed up within the day I believe.
Just got it last night. It's like 3 days from the start I initiated the transfer.

I was assuming the transaction would be sent out by the Green Address (1LNWw6yCxkUmkhArb2Nf2MPw6vG7u5WG7q ) stated by MagicalTux at : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=48170.0 , but instead I received it from:

Code:
1MVtwuuKvuzUa2mWiBnrA9UzqnP7tBaB9A (0.1 BTC - Output)
15sgsXuS7LPGPT18cjH5ecuUwPK6jTbFJZ (0.21206082 BTC - Output)
1BSX5JfYF9d4i7oU2DmQkbGFMqiQd7NoR3 (86.88689612 BTC - Output)

Which one would be the green address then?
5948  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] A bunch of TF2 Stuff on: April 10, 2012, 06:00:13 AM
Not really worth anything as there is no rares/unusuals. Is it a 'premium account'? One that has bought something in the shop using real money? If it is, the prices would be better.
5949  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MTGox Green Address Withdraw time on: April 09, 2012, 05:18:13 PM
So was it deducted from your account balance, and shows in the transaction list?

Yep. About the only place it hasn't showed up is in the blockchain/ unconfirmed list.

So you lost the withdrawal?
No, I don't think so - it is after all a single coin and I still have faith it'll eventually reach me.

Anyone else did a green address transfer on mtgox before?
5950  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 4 Kindle Fires - ESCROW AVAILABLE on: April 09, 2012, 10:21:27 AM
Oh boy... Wish me luck. The Kindle just got held by Customs for inspection.
Hope I won't have to pay 23% VAT over the Amazon price, which is approximately €150, so around €35 + €8 for administrative costs... Fuckin' thieves Sad

USPS tracking page didn't update but you can track it on the Portuguese postal service website.

Where is your country? Portugal? IMHO I thought most countries do not charge VAT on used stuff like this, especially when it's marked as a gift.
5951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MTGox Green Address Withdraw time on: April 09, 2012, 10:17:14 AM
Got this reply just now from MTGox:

Hello,

It may take several business days. Unfortunately, all bitcoin transfers are non-reveresible.

Please be aware that:

When withdrawing or depositing bitcoins into your Mt.Gox account there may occasionally be a delay depending on network congestion, your internet connection speed and the time required to get 6 confirmations on the network. If you're sending to your computer's wallet, it's good practice to keep your bitcoin client running so it can download the block chain. For those that may not know the block chain is the complete history of all transactions made on the bitcoin network, and as such it can take some time to update and download the most current block and see the bitcoins in your wallet.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact Mt.Gox Support either by responding to this email (should the enquiry relate to this ticket) or by using the following support request form:

https://mtgox.zendesk.com/entries/20256702-contact-us

Thanks,

MtGox.com Team

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The transaction is not even in the unconfirmed list yet, as they didn't even initiate the transaction yet. Hence, the strikeout part is totally not related and it seems like a canned response to me. Waiting for A SINGLE BITCOIN for 'a few business days? Then how long should I wait if I transfer 1k coins then?

Here's my post.
And mine.
5953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MTGox Green Address Withdraw time on: April 09, 2012, 09:58:35 AM
An update:

The transaction has not take place yet of now. It's been almost 2-3 days since I initiated this transfer, and I'm starting to think there's something wrong. Thank goodness I tested this with a single coin. Now I know what it means to be 'goxed'.   Angry
5954  Economy / Lending / Re: We need a bank! on: April 08, 2012, 11:22:12 PM

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around those interest rates. I understand that the market(supply and demand) set interest rates. I'm just having a hard time understanding WHO would pay the interest rates he must charge in order for him to pay those huge rates back to his depositors.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=payday+loan

Neat! Thanks!

You're welcome. I was simply trying to point out that an industry exists
out there in meatspace and that when it comes to crazy interest rates,
the bankers on these forums are rank amateurs. The wikipedia page,
in particular, is enlightening.

I just finished reading the Wikipedia page. Are you saying that what seems like exorbitant interest rates charged by the loan sharks here are actually a pittance of what the legal payday lenders charge?

IMHO this is correct. I've heard of some even charging daily compounded interest.
5955  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [105% TESTING] I want your hashing power! "Project #2" on: April 08, 2012, 10:34:57 PM
Stales very been very low for me the last few days - thanks for that!
+1. I'm gradually moving my cards over; just added another card that came back from RMA.
5956  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: ShadowAlexey`s Deposits 12%/month on: April 08, 2012, 02:09:21 PM
Every loan thread that looks suspicious ( and some that aren't ) have what you call "spam" . It's part of the territory of a forum.
After many a scam here people look out for each other and put up a red flag- sometimes justified and maybe sometimes not- but it helps loaners stop a sec and maybe think twice before trusting their coins with someone they don't know.

Complaining about it just makes things look worse for you.

+1.

2 BTC
It will be worth $239.92 in exactly 10 months from now.

You will make around $70 profit by selling it to me right now.
Lame troll  Huh

That was meant to be a test - thank goodness I only sent a paltry amount of coins. The tix was replied by the support, and they said that it's still in the pending stage and will be sent out later. And I thought Green Addresses were meant to speed things up!  Angry

as long as the receiving site/wallet understands what a green address is. The only one that I know of is instawallet.

(just checked the wiki, btctip and btcpak also understand green addresses.)

marked
That is, if the transaction were unconfirmed a green address would give people confidence hence accept the tx without waiting for 6 confirms. Problem is, the tx haven't even been confirmed YET!  Angry
5959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MTGox Green Address Withdraw time on: April 08, 2012, 03:59:22 AM
Yeah I used to like to check all the boxes with green address and open confirmation but the payment took about 12 hours to receive. Ever since then I never checked the boxes again.

tl;dr if you want your money fast from mtgox dont check the boxes.

5960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MTGox Green Address Withdraw time on: April 08, 2012, 12:46:17 AM
and it's been almost 4 hours yet I didn't see any sign of the coin coming to my address. How long does the green address withdrawal take?

You are asking how long a transfer to an address to your local wallet?

Just to make sure you aren't overlooking the basics ...  you aren't seeing the transaction in the blockchain, correct?

If the amount was high (over aml limits for instance) or for other reasons they might have held the withdrawal.  If it isn't on the blockchain and the withdrawal didn't occur you'll need to contact the exchange.  Open a ticket using their Support website:
Just woke and the btc haven't arrived yet. Yes, I've checked the blockchain and there's no transaction to it yet. I've even fired up my bitcoin client and there's no sign of the coin arriving. The History page inside MTGox says that the btc have been withdrawn to the correct address.
It shouldn't be an aml because the sum I withdrawn was 1 btc(I just wanted to test the green address out). Guess I'll open a tix with them and see what they say.

Thanks guys for the help.
