Greetings goatpig I recently read in the bitcoin wikiArmory deterministic wallet
Armory has its own Type-2 deterministic wallet format based on a "root key" and a "chain code." Earlier versions of Armory required backing up both the "root key" and "chaincode," while newer versions start deriving the chaincode from the private key in a non-reversible way. These newer Armory wallets (0.89+) only require the single, 256-bit root key. This older format is intended to be phased out in favor of the standard BIP0032 format. [3] Should users with older format cold storage paper wallets be concerned about not being able to access their coins due to this "phase out"?

When I can't use Win7 any more, I guess I'll have to choose a Linux distro.

This board is like a twilight zone where anything that's not a perpetual straight rise to $10,000,000 is bearish

At first I'm sorry for my broken English in my last reply, when I read it, I sounded like a drunk guy ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I like this guy already in other news, Bitcoin; slow, expensive, and annoying...just the way I like it https://tomluongo.me/2017/11/16/the-foundation-of-the-next-cryptocurrency-bull-market/Over time the market will decide how much of a true free-market economy should hold as its reserves a pool of real savings versus at-risk liquid capital.
We don’t have this now in the ‘real world’ because central banks distort risk assessment through the manipulation of interest rates, the cost of money. They do this to minimize the amount of savings to promote money velocity versus wealth creation.

If BCAsh (A for Asshole) stands for flooding the mempool, messing with the hash power and massively dumping early holder coins, I won’t have none of that. I’d rather use Dogecoin then.
I have stated before, it is extremely unfortunate for the bigblock advocates that Ver and Wu are their preeminent exponents. Were it not for these individuals we would probably have larger blocks right now. It is not in the least surprising that many/most in the community are very leery of anything supported by these characters.

A Good Yule to all Bitcoiners, agnostic of blocksize preference, with extra warm regards to Jimbo and a lump of Doge for R0ach.

I am assuming you are talking about the false breakout to 16k, since it is now 14k.
Can you explain why this was obvious in hindsight? I'm just curious, because I thought it could stabilize at around 16k, high 15k.
it wasn't obvious to me Bitcoin is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient
that is going on a sticky note on my chart monitor...lol
|
|
|
Yea, it was really obvious, looking back. This is what I get for trying to actively trade while not sitting at my pc monitoring things. Sure I can trade on stamp from my phone, but it's not a good idea.
Don't feel bad. If it makes you feel better I got long just about the same time.

Come on baby, just another 1k up and I can still without taking a loss. Come on bitcoin, be good to me.
Yeah, they painted that fake breakout pretty good. A lot of folks on the wrong side of that.

I think we have some resistance up around 14400...I for one would be happy to see us break it
