Is there anything special need to be done in order to use an old wallet from the original Sumokoin? My wallet is several months old and I haven't opened it since January. None of the wallet apps (lite,GUI,CLI) are able to find any transactions on it. I've tried importing from mnemonic etc. but no luck so far.
The daemon logs some really weird errors :

Like there would be 2 separate block chains?
First of all dont worry your coins are still there. These messages on daemon are usual ignore them. There are several nodes with different heights due to forked coins using old chains or nodes that was never updated after a hardfork. Hi. I have question to developer. Do you guys cooperate with cryptopia in order to process the wallet issue they experience? I'm asking because I'm one of the investor that have sumo frozen in their wallet and I'm start worrying about it. It has been almost one month now since they paused sumo market and somebody from Sumo team should do smth about it.  Due to the upcoming HardFork on block 16500 (difficulty algo updated to prevent 51% attacks and timestamp manipulation - we used Masari's algorithm which may not be so responsive to sudden hashrate changes as our old one but it is mighty solid against this kind of attacks - Many thanks Masari guys we will give something back the soonest!) you are requested to update your GUI wallets and/or binaries from the official sumokoin site or sumo github.
Your coins are otherwise safe. Nothing extra you should do.

Introduction
Sumokoin (スモコイン in Japanese) is a fork from Monero, one of the most respectable cryptocurrency well-known for security, privacy, untraceability and active development. Starting as an educational project, we found that it would be great to create a new coin with high level of privacy by (1) moving forward right away to Ring Confidential Transactions (RingCT), (2) setting minimum transaction mixins to 48 that would make it high resistance to blockchain analysis attacks.

- Why should I invest in Sumokoin?
1. Sumokoin was created with long-term vision in mind. The coin emission path is quite similar to Bitcoin with (majority of) coins to be distributed in 20 years.
