Are they in a competition?
Nah. Just doing their job. Smiley

Then they are doing a good job indeed.  Smiley
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Protect Your Account From Plagiarism Ban on: May 12, 2019, 02:00:41 AM
Welcome to my thread. Currently in meta section i have seen a lot of ban appeal thread. So many members including legendary, DT accounts are getting ban due plagiarism issues. You can find from LoyceV's thread how and why so many accounts have got banned recently.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5141807.0

Thats insane actually. Is the need for merit put people to such desperate measures as plagiarism?
Personally i saw couple people that made "guides" here, which was not even formatted copy-paste but didnt realise scale of this behaviour.

Most of the merit givers are merit sources and those who have merit to give are mostly great members who knows the rules. So I think they will not give merits to plagiarize post.
63  Other / Meta / Re: A wave of bans: 400 yesterday, 300 the day before. What changed? on: May 12, 2019, 01:54:37 AM
Moderators will always check the reports for legitimacy. There will be no bans where it's not cleat that a user is a plagiarizer or at least I don't know any user being banned without reason.
Ban is the hardest punishment and therefore an individual checking by mods is inevitable.

Moderators cant ban Users , only Global Mods and admins as far i know !

So those autobans are global mods? That so many bans per day. Are they in a competition?
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you protect your digital coins? on: May 12, 2019, 01:41:07 AM
Probably the first thing is to use paper wallets, store bitcoins there and use them only once, after that burn them. Next is hardware wallets, way easier to use and is also safe and reusable. If you can afford hardware wallet, you go with this.
65  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Looking for BTC Holders on: May 12, 2019, 01:35:19 AM
Ang laki ng difference OP. Wala sigurado papayag. I fill mo.

https://international.bittrex.com/  << matagal na akong member nyan way back 2014 pa.

Thank you @serjent05 ! Kaso medyo bitin yung ibang info..

68  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 55.48974266 BTC sent to Binance mistakenly! on: May 11, 2019, 01:53:18 PM
Do you think we have chance here?
-snip-

I don't think that they will now turn back after they accepted that they own the address and are showing signs that they will refund you. Maybe the balance amount is so big that they are going through some internal processes to clear out. I think they will refund you back since they are a popular exchange and won't let this incident stain their reputation.

I hope that they do refund you in the end.  Smiley

Probably they will need to refund. Or their reputation is at stake. Anyway watching this thread for more updates. Please keep us updated.
69  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: can blockchain.com be hacked? on: May 11, 2019, 01:39:06 PM
As stated here, if blockchain is hacked most likely your coins will still be safe. Because they do not hold your btcs. But if your computer is compromised and you uses hot/online wallet like blockchain there is a great chance that you will get hacked.

blockchain.com hosts a non-custodial wallet service. they don't "hold" your BTC. that's why they can't recover your wallet for you if you lose your key/password. your seed can be used to recover your coins to any other HD wallet.

so it's not as bad as 3rd party web wallet services that actually control your BTC. but there are still some security hazards. you are prone to various MITM attacks when you use a trusted online service like blockchain.com to sign and push transactions.
70  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Update on Binance hack as per CZ on: May 11, 2019, 01:32:27 PM
CZ is supposed to say all those things in order to calm down the public. Grin
Anyway, reacting after the consequences is better than no reaction at all.
Despite all those security improvement announcements,I think that many noobs will refuse to join Binance and deposit their hard earned coins there.
I disagree. These hacks happen all the time. Lesser known exchanges which get affected by these hacks usually tend to disappear completely since no one would bother with them anymore while the popular ones like Binance will retain their user base and become even more popular since they are able to give back the stolen funds through SAFU fund etc.

smaller exchanges disappear because their business was small so they didn't have that much money to back things up and didn't have that many operations running. on the other hand a big exchange like Binance has multiple operations running so even if majority of their users leave they will continue earning money! for example they have already created a token out of thin air and have sold it to the public making millions out of it. that is not something a small exchange does or even can do!

I agree its because they have all money needed if incase hacks like this happens. So mostly, people using their exchange won't feel these problems. And as seen the exchange is most likely faster solving the problem and reacting. This just made people's trust to the exchange stronger.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally $200 billion total Marketcap is achieved. on: May 11, 2019, 01:25:01 PM
I am happy today as finally the total Marketcap is now $200 billion, what can we expect from here?

https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/

Feels like the bull is starting to heat up. The price is still far from the 2017 peak. There are a mix of positive and negative happenings in the past few days, so we cannot really tell why this is happening. But base on the records, this is not unusual, the pump at Q2 or Q3 happens regularly.

Could be like most people say here, new money or because altcoins are going down, shifted money from altcoins. I think bitcoin will most likely surpass 7000 usd in a few weeks. Especially if good news like these keeps bursting out.

Day trading ba plano mo?

Pano mo sya makukuha?
73  Local / Pamilihan / Trading Platform na Gamit ng mga Pinoy on: May 11, 2019, 03:31:13 AM
Hi Guys!

Considered sana ang KYC, Withdrawing to PH, Depositing from PH, and speed and reliability. Thank you in advance.
74  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Market status on: May 11, 2019, 03:22:51 AM
Probably kase pataas ang Bitcoin nowadays. Most altcoins holders are shifting to Bitcoin riding yung pagtaas nya. Swerte yung nauna mag shift.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin conceptualization in the context of globalization on: May 11, 2019, 03:02:07 AM
Probably to be the first decentralized money concept. I'm not saying that Bitcoin will not succeed, it surely will do, but not as the currency we are all wanted it to be.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you ready to invest now? on: May 11, 2019, 02:46:02 AM
I am following dollar-cost-average strategy, thanks to it I didnīt miss the opportunity of buying at the owest level.  Cool

Is this for bitcoin? Or do you also invest in some altcoins? This strategy is used in 401k plans. I don't think it's perfect for bitcoin because of its volatility. Correct me if I'm wrong.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money on cryptocurrency in 2019 on: May 11, 2019, 02:42:25 AM
I can't agree more with OP. Crypto is not just about having tokens holding them and then hope that it they will soon make you rich. You have to work. Look at different angles. This technology is just starting so there are many things here that are not yet known or done. It can be via programming, design, marketing and more. You will most like will need the entrepreneur mindset.
78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what we can buy with bitcoin ?? on: May 11, 2019, 02:36:57 AM
You can buy items, mostly online and then ship it directly to you. I think Overstock and Newegg still accepts bitcoin. Before Microsoft accepts it but they removed it.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this GotSatoshi.com? New drama unfolding? on: May 11, 2019, 02:34:00 AM
They will unveil in 2 days haha Let's see if this is some kind of a joke. What if we saw Craig Wright, or what if we saw some other man.

I liked the thread system. You bookmark your thread and check from time to time to see if there are any mentions of your name. Thanks Piggy for letting us know.

I too liked the thread system for the same benefits. I think PM will be a good enough alternative. I this working right now? I saw a @Piggy post that it should be up and running, but I don't see PMs yet.
