I should also ditch this wallet, right?

Oh yes, of course do not put another satoshi into that wallet and create a new one. Make sure you update withdrawal addresses on any pools etc

Not sure what you mean by satoshi but yeah I am deleting this wallet and reinstalling windows right now.

My only pool account is perm locked so I am cashing out my .08 BTC and hoping I can get it to an exchange before it magically disappears.

Well, first off do not use that computer until you reformat it. There is a possibility that the virus was copied to your computer, you don't want any more BTC to be stolen, or even your PayPal or CC info, so make sure you reformat that PC ASAP.

There is a possibility that spyware on your PC had previously got your wallet and it was just waiting until you received a sizeable amount of BTC before emptying it.

It's also a possibility that the other dude's PC was infected & it copied itself onto the USB drive and then infected your PC.

The guy could've just straight up robbed you, but IMO it takes some balls to do that to someone on a face-2-face transaction.

Guess I will be reinstalling Windows right now ...

Is there any other info that we can learn from this?!

I should also ditch this wallet, right?

pretty smart way to get free mining gear. I wonder how many times he did this.

Pretty smart way if you want to get shot! How do you have no information on him? I am sure this will catch up with him, like 'a drug deal gone bad'.

I have his LinkedIn page ... his personal cell phone number.

He brought his 3 year old daughter to my house to play with my son while we did the transaction.

But really, having his phone number is all I need to find out anything I want about him.

He lives in the same city as me ... used to live in the same apartment complex as I do.

I even have the old unit number.

Yes ... he stole my entire wallet amount.

3.87224984

There is chance that he brought some virus on the USB flashdisk unintentionally.

^^^ I just talked to him on the phone.

He said mysteriously some of HIS btc is gone too and was hacked somehow and "he is freaking out too"

He said that maybe his USB stick had a virus.

I told him bring back my 7970 and we will not have a problem.

He said he is bringing it back tonight.

We will see... I guess.

I don't know.  He seemed cool.  He brought over his 3 year old daughter too and my son played with her while we did the transaction.

Seems like a clean cut nice guy.

I have his personal information though.

I will blast it all over the internet and file a police report too.

My BTC wallet is ...

19QXrx5FGgepoqdyMMvk5cDxGCQCN5bLut

I am a newbie and just got my ass handed to me.

This feels great... glad I joined the BTC community.

Now I am screwed on my bills.

100% of my BTC is gone.
68  Other / Beginners & Help / My bitcoins have been stolen on: May 06, 2013, 09:17:32 PM
How can this happen?

A guy came over to my house last night and bought my 7970.

He sent me BTC.

I gave him the card.

He plugged in some USB stick and sent me BTC.

Now, I check my wallet today and my BTC is missing.

Did he do something and steal my coins?

--intensity 13 --gpu-threads 2 --worksize 256 --shaders 1792 --thread-concurrency 8100

and 1135Mhz core , 1495mhz mem,1175mV ,power limit 20% in msi afterburner , and i get 600-605Kh/s,please let me know you Kh/s rate with those settings.

ps: im using driver 13.5 beta and 2.7 sdk,with 2.8 sdk i can't pass 540Kh/s

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin mining speed on: May 04, 2013, 06:57:04 PM
AFAIK ... you cannot mine LTC with anything but GPU and CPU.

Which I think is great. Gives us little guys a chance in the digital coin world.

I am sure someday there will be an asic equivalent for LTC.  But lets hope that does not happen for a while!
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HIS 7970 IceQ X² 3GB Can't get over 600KH/s on: May 04, 2013, 06:51:25 PM
I am in the same boat.  Trying to figure this out today too.

I will report if I find anything good.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 7970 HIS Reference on LTC ... what hash are you getting? on: May 04, 2013, 06:50:50 PM
I am tweeking my card and trying to figure out how to get it fast as possible without being too hot.

I am only able to get it around 550 khash.

Wondering if anyone else has experience with 7970 and LTC that you could help me with.
78  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: HIS 7970 Reference on: May 04, 2013, 06:40:06 PM
... as I don't mine litecoins or any scrypt coin.

Any reason why not?

Just curious.
79  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: HIS 7970 Reference on: May 04, 2013, 06:39:19 PM
not sure on litecoin but i can say since theres a divideby 100 thing i also get 550mhash/ 550khash on my 7970

I am able to get 650 mhash pretty easily for BTC.  Temp around 78 degrees.

But I cannot get LTC over 550 range and 84 degrees ... WAY too hot.

78 is hotter than I like.
80  Other / Beginners & Help / Why are so many people selling their BFL pre orders? on: May 04, 2013, 06:28:13 PM
Do they not want their BFL units when they finally do ship?!

I don't get why someone would order a BFL and then try to sell it.
