61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: October 23, 2017, 11:03:06 PM
I wonder if there would be optimized miner for equihash for 1080ti?
cause this is really will help to pump the hash rate - usually we can assume that one 1080ti is equivalent of two 1070s.
one 1070 pushes 450 h/s in ZEC, so 1080ti should do about 900 h/s, but in reality 750-770 h/s, so we have potential for 20% imporval..

I wonder who can do that?
I would say that there is one already but its private version, there are rumors about 1200 sols on 1080ti...

holly-molly! how it is even possible? I thought maximum achievable could be 900 sols, ok, a 1000sols, but like 1200 sols this is a very unbelievable
is it for sale? very interesting, can you give me a direction where to start? I want to contact the author and ask all details from the source!

Everybody talk about hashrate but nobody said about power consumption. There was experiments with liquid nitrogen cooling on the forum with great hashrate of 1070 or 1080Ti on Ethash but power consumtion was really huge. Of course it's could be possible to get that hashrate but is it reasonable?
Liquid nitrogen is far more expensive than electricity.

He is saying that is it really necessary to go that far.   It's obvious LN2 waste more electricity he pointed it out on his post.   So not only your wasting money on cooling also electricity and the hardware life.

Higher overclock doesn't scale efficiency unless you won a silicone lottery.  Some GPU can go higher at 190w (Not talking about factory overclock you notice I don't put TDP %)

People are in denial and pretend electricity is free and hardware lifespan is unlimited.  If not they would make excuse that electric is free but the parents are paying for it.  That's how it is.

Very odd because I have two EVGA 1070 (Watercooled version) and 3 Zotax 1070 mini on a single EVGA 1000w PSU.  At 80% it draws under 700 watts.  I been using this settings for few months straight.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: October 19, 2017, 09:24:12 AM
i been using MPH, seems like they do not too bad, hit some blocks. i was using zpool, but their pools all of puttered out now, no more miners Sad
Keep in mind if its just suprnova pool reporting 50% efficiency that's a known visual bug in the MpoS pool system, as long as your miner isn't showing that many rejects your smiling Smiley

Thanks, this one really looks better.
How long does it takes for your coins to become confirmed?
Mine are showing Unconfirmed for about 20 hours already

zcoin's "coinbase maturity" is quite high, like 120 confirms, mixed with the block time of like 10-15 mininutes, ya, it takes like 24 hours for coins to be confirmed, if not 36 Sad
That's just how the coin is coded tho, BTC itself needs 50 confirms before you can spend fresh mined coins Smiley

Im mining some DGB again, it's easy to mine, and low in market, maybe see 600 again ;p

Zcoin's 120 confirms is nothing compare to my strategy.   Mining now is knowledge, patience, and luck.   I decided to go Monacoin after looking at the past charts that it did hit 28k before.   So I calculate ahead at 28k.  I would make about $18 per day with 4x 1080ti.   I got lucky by holding those coins.   lol  All those days mining Monacoin calculated around $50-$60 a day from 4x 1080ti.

Instead of cashing out within 1 day.  I cash out every time I see a good sell and it could take weeks.  It's risky but very rewarding.

Also reason Monacoin instead of others.  Past charts did gave me a pattern that was easy to figure out.  Again I can't guarantee.  SIGT was one of my picks but I cash out half just in case.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best mobile for monero browser mining on: October 18, 2017, 04:26:53 AM
Hello to all.

I tried to mine monero with my phone at browser and it is showing about 5-6 hashes/s.

Who knows the best mobile phones for mining with max hashes in browser? And cheap.

it sounds like your just better off using the currency to buy stuff instead of mining it.  also keep a small savings and wait for the pump.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: October 15, 2017, 07:41:40 AM
I love how people here make absolute statements about profitability of coins that go through massive moves in price and diff, and then blame whattomine for being off.

Crypto is a volatile world. Profitability changes every block. As long as people don't understand this, they'll blame whattomine for miscalculating, the pools for stealing and the whales for dumping.

Funny.

This is true.   Miners have to take a risk on what coin is going increase instead focus whats now.

One of my system is looking at the 24hr avg.    Every 24 hrs I log in the time and date so I could compare it has changes or not.   All you need to focus on big changes in difficulty.   Comparing to 3 day avg in whattomine does work.  If it's lower than 3 day avg you think the price would increase in the next week or two then take a risk and mine that.

It's pretty hard to find coins that would have massive increase in next 3 weeks.

Think like a whale they will bail you out.  lol

I don't think it will turn out well because California doesn't have resources like oil and electricity being taken from other states.

Those that created it made their money. No real community here, so won't see mass adoption. No Slack Channel.
Just a cheap 'pump and dump' shit coin.

You those chat programs that people use to spam memes and FUD in real time?

Like someone it doesn't need the whole world to be successful.   Reality cryptos don't need investors like you that come and go.  You did good a good job being the destroyer of other crypto currency.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: October 14, 2017, 06:30:57 AM
Its really a combination of some knowledge and luck.  Its not very easy like 6 months you pick one and stay on it.    imo people is way too focus on white paper and future roadmaps.  lol  its useless information.

Look at many pump and dump patterns and timing of events.   I mined a lot before monacoin events.   I actually expected mona to double.  It drop ll the way to 9500 so I mined more as difficulty drop.   Value should be around 44k.  Much higher than Vertcoin.

Miners need to think more dynamic.

I swear I just don't understand Crypto investors sometimes. Random coins with very little utility and use case get pumped to ridiculous levels. When will investors be rational with their investments ?

lol This guy is so new.  I thought I was new this to this scene.  IMO People rely too much on the white paper and features and miss the real point of the currency.

Wow within few hours it hit 59,000 sat!  lol  I even set my alert for 59k which was my target sell.  Im going to keep waiting.

this thing is ripping tonight  Monacoin  MONA $ 1.5903585   +106.69 %

all the better for the mining... man i need to get set up,  have to get my son over her to do it though.  I was set up on ETH  but it took forever to get one coin

It's still not very profitable to mine.  It's only 60% of what I'm making mining ETH according to WhatToMine.

Of course it's not.   If your mining ETH your using either using AMD or 1070.   This coin is really good for 1080ti.   I have a rig of 1070s I never mined lyra2rev2 coin unless profit jump is exceptional.

My 4x 1080ti rig was able to get $7-8 worth of coins per day.   If you hold for this pump it's at $21-$24 per day.

I like seeing the chat on this from the experts  Smiley

I missed the train :/ but its all good things happening like crazy in crypto world  Wink

I been on it every time before the pump because it has uses compare but it takes months for major pump.   lol  People hoping in would eventually leave.   I stayed with them till SIGT and even cash out the SIGT for monacoins even if the value drop at 9800.  I bought even more when the value drop fast at an alarming rate.   I don't know why monacoin out of all the coins it was just my feeling.

Reason why I mine them when they are low because you get more coins per day due to difficulty.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MONA] Monacoin LAUNCHING 2014/01/01 0:00 GMT on: October 11, 2017, 11:05:17 PM
yap afterburner but what setup(Core, memory, power?) What is the best OC settings?
for evga sc black
my oc is +130 on core(usually 1936-1961Mhz), memory all the way down
for power i stay 100%, others do 80% etc etc.

using ccmineraxelis i got around 72-73MH/s
ymmv
I hope that helps Wink

If you mean alexis make sure you check daily but it's pretty hard to tell now because the surge of miners.   alexis' hash rate isn't right.    I been on monacoin and vertcoin for 3 months.   From experience ccminer 2.0 or latest from the same guy is better.   There are times I suppose to be producing 40 coins a day even high difficulty added drop to around 32 coins.   But I produce about half of that.   It's pretty annoying to work with lyra2rev2 algo.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MONA] Monacoin LAUNCHING 2014/01/01 0:00 GMT on: October 07, 2017, 02:07:42 PM
for mining monacoin with NVIDIA i use suprnova and this is the bat file!

set GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
set GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
set GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
set GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

ccminer-x64.exe -a lyra2rev2 -o stratum+tcp://mona.suprnova.cc:2995 -u x.x -p x -i 19

the miner with more speed for this algho i treied many and the best is ccminer-2.0-release-x64-cuda-8.0
if someone need i can post the file

I been mining mona for few months on and off.  I never use that set GPU and I get more performance with -i 22.5 for GTX 1080.  I don't do mining on GTX 1070 unless it's really that huge.
76  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guns - Why do we need them? on: October 05, 2017, 12:49:39 PM
Someone had a cool idea.   Restrict weapons to muskets or bow only for hunting.  lol
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Mining - We will never die! on: October 04, 2017, 08:32:31 AM
You don't just mine.  Try to promote it on the side because more users = maintain profit.  I'm still looking a coin that would work not just bitcoin.   My friend knows a few underground communities that could use crypto currency and may gain popularity outside of those communities.

Look at Bitcoin fees and I'm a bit afraid to transfer money with lower fees.  Sometimes it took a week to get the money.  Certain altcoins can compete.

Im trying to get this wallet sync.   It downloaded 255GB in one day.   I check my drive space nothing happen?   Uploading isn't even over 256 MB.  I don't get what is it doing for one day?
255GB? Which wallet version are you using?
Try Viaelectrum. It is easiest to use https://vialectrum.org/

64x client version 0.13.3 on there website.  I did so many wallets before with that UI.   They all sync without problems.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Knock off miners / GPU's? on: September 27, 2017, 01:12:13 AM
I was checking out some of his vids, looks pretty cool.

maybe the answer is to get regular GPU's and volt mod em lol

ROFL that's how he killed a Vega!

I used to volt mod.  You need some knowledge on the VRM and voltage controller chip.   But these days is easy with software voltage settings (Back in the day afterburner doesn't do voltage settings.  Voltage is done by hardware mods).  You don't really need crazy solder or pencil volt mod for mining.  You get most profit with lower TDP settings.

Those type of volt mods is meant for extreme overclocks which avg users here don't do since you can bypass safety limits.   If you want high voltage overclocks head to overclock.net and get some dry ice or LN2 and check out this website. https://kingpincooling.com/collections/extreme-pc-cooling
