61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: secure your wallet. on: June 14, 2011, 07:44:58 AM
Let me correct/clarify then.

That's not enough either. Your original wallet is not destroyed by deleting the file. There may still be traces.
dd it a few times then.

65  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Anyone have an explanation for the growing "anonymous" pool of miners? on: June 14, 2011, 12:39:40 AM
slush's pool is missing from the graph, site seems to be having issue with that for a few days.

I've been on slush's pool since starting mining but I think I'll move elsewhere.  Its been down for most of today and actively costing money by losing mining time.  Every now and then my miners can connect, so I assume it's a DDoS.

Not what I meant. bitcoinwatch.com has been having trouble having slush's pool at it's own slice.

67  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / 0.3.22 testnet solo mining broken from 0.3.21 on: June 13, 2011, 10:57:37 PM
I tried playing around on testnet to mine some bitcoin, so I set up solo mining on 0.3.22 but no miner would connect before or after it had received all the blocks AND it was using 100% of a CPU core.
I tried the previous version with the exact same setting and it worked fine. after it got e blocks the miner connected and started working away.

Here are the settings

opening batch script
Code:
bitcoin.exe -testnet -datadir="%cd%\.bitcoin" -conf="%cd%\.bitcoin\testnet\bitcoin.conf" -server

bitcoin.conf file
Code:
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpctimeout=30
rpcallowip=*.*.*.*
server=1
rpcport=8332

phoenix opencl miner batch script (the batch script that's in \bitcoin-0.3.22_BROKEN_TESTS\)

Code:
cd phoenix-1.48
phoenix.exe -u http://user:password@localhost:8332 -k phatk DEVICE=0 FASTLOOP=false BFI_INT VECTORS AGGRESSION=11 WORKSIZE=128 -v

what a croc of shit

until there is a friendly exe on the frontpage, i am convinced bitcoin has been infiltraded

wheres satoshi is he ok with needing an iq to start generating?

The POINT of a currency is to use, not to make it. If everyone though the ONLY way to get bitcoins was to hit that button and walk away, come back and see nothing,  they'd give up and go back to USD. If they actually waited the several years on the worse way possible, they'd be in the far negtive.
70  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 3.22-beta on: June 10, 2011, 08:10:14 AM
it's was the worse way to generate.

So, gone.

Yes, we're redditors.

We're absolutely inundated with email right now and have been battling to get Dwolla transactions functioning after they changed their API today. I saw some other threads in /r/bitcoin that I plan to address later on but we're barely sleeping trying to keep up with everything. Please be patient, if we do not answer emails right away it does NOT MEAN WE ARE RUNNING AWAY WITH YOUR MONEY.

Seriously, we're not.

We want to see Bitcoin substantiated as legal tender just as much as all of you and we aren't going to do anything short sighted, illegal or stupid to jeopardize that.

Thanks for all the support, and to the haters we're planning on putting every dime we can into lawyers, lobbying or whatever is necessary to ensure a place for the Bitcoin economy. Through the 0.65% trade fees you are directly supporting the future of Bitcoin.

EDIT Alright, it seems like you guys care a lot about what we're doing. Let's try to make a place to consolidate all of this feedback. I've created a new subreddit /r/MtGox where you can organize your feedback, suggestions, criticisms etc.

Viva la Bitcoin!

This is awesome, but it's only working on chrome for me. not firefox 4
As I've said about these sites before, they work in Firefox if you override the security block.
Set network.websocket.override-security-block to true in about:config
DO NOT ENABLE THIS IF YOU ARE BEHIND A PROXY
I know, I'm stupid... I didn't read the full post since my bro was rushing me.

but hey FF5 will have web sockets on.

I picked up my 5830's for $80 a pop.  Look around, 5850's are over $200.

Where did you find a 5830 for so cheap? The best I've seen has been $109 USD.

here's it for ~103 after shipping
