61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - SIGNATURES + XMAS on: January 21, 2018, 06:27:14 PM
All, I am very sorry for the aggravation and frustration. I apologize to those that were not paid for multiple submissions. We will make this right. I have already sent coins to three individuals that contacted me with the correct wallet address from their multiple submissions (96cf3921c1946f87d019df827bf1b5a59fb2488fd46d0c12b1c6c48de2d40025).

I was not aware that Alex had asked people to submit multiple times. It would also seem that there could have been some nefarious third party skimming BCT for signatures and submitting new entries using your profile link. I must admit this is not something we anticipated. However, we have learned from our mistakes and will do better next time. I also want to apologize as I was not fully read in on the intricacies of this situation - as you know the signature campaign was Alex's responsibility but he left Intense, and SlowGrowth planned to fulfill these duties instead. However, SlowGrowth has been swamped with RL matters, leaving our clueless dev (me) to try and figure this out. I did not do very well apparently Cheesy

If your payment was excluded or not made because of 'intentional multiple submissions', please PM me the CORRECT wallet address (as you have multiple listed and I am not sure which is correct) and I will pay you according to your rank.

Thanks for your patience.

Okay folks I wrote some code to query Bitcointalk and check rank, number of posts, blah blah, and hand filtered some sneaky users in the data.
You seem to hand filtered me and I've no idea why, it says "intentionally submitted multiple ent...". It was not clear in the forum posts whether we are supposed to apply for each new round or not so I tried to apply for 4th round after the 3rd one just to make sure that I'm in. No one in this topic said that it would result in disqualification, there was definitely nothing "sneaky" about it.  Shocked

Sure, I will elaborate: anyone that submitted multiple entries, with multiple wallets, and/or multiple ranks, was deemed sneaky. You also put a '0' in front of your member ID in addition to supplying multiple wallets. Putting a 0 at the front of your member ID is 100% a manual process... and I can imagine it would only be done to fool the system.

There were also some users that purposely encoded the user ID part of the member URL, again to look different in the database, but it's the same member in the end.

Our system would not even allow you to submit multiple times with the same wallet ID, as it would say 'You're already in but we updated your information, thanks'. If a duplicate BCT profile URL was inputted, the system would alert you 'Sorry, but that Bitcointalk profile was already used.' -- these items in combination seem pretty straight forward to indicate: don't purposely tamper with submissions to be listed multiple times in the database.  Cheesy

Okay folks I wrote some code to query Bitcointalk and check rank, number of posts, blah blah, and hand filtered some sneaky users in the data. All in all, 66 people were paid for the last round. Congratulations and thanks for participating!

I can only hope transition goes smoothly without lost coins / wallets like IOTA and such.

What I really don't like is devs realizing they have to change all the coin backbone this late in the game as they found they couldn't deliver what was promised from the beginning...

There will be no lost coins, the blockchains are 1:1 compatible. What is not to like about the dev team recognizing a mechanism to improve our product? Crypto is rapidly changing, I am sure you know that, and adaptability and flexibility are absolutely imperative. The news post emphasized that the rebase made sense from many perspectives, rather than being solely related to the VPN. In any case, when you are developing massive and complex software, requirements change over time.

I want to stress that this is a very good thing for the coin, it opens a lot of doors for us and helps future proof our products.

Some questions:

So we can generate a new address with the new client/wallet and then transfer our coins form the old intense wallet via the blockchain to the new one w/o loosing coins? It states the new stuff can't open old wallets (currently?). Since the old wallets don't have mnonic seeds/ readable keys one probably can't restore  that way either?
Yes, you can absolutely do that now, although we  are planning to add integration to allow the 'new' wallet to open 'old' wallet files. But if you want seed restoration NOW for your existing coins, that's your only option. And seed restoration will not be available for pre-XMR rebase imported wallets because they weren't generated in a way that is compatible with mnemonic seeds.

How does this affect the airdrop currently in effect? Do I have to reregister with the new address or will it continue to work with the old address?
your old address works fine, do nothing

Will I have to resync the whole blockchain (took me days) or can the new client load the blockchain.bin from the old intensed?
You will need to resync but it only takes 1-3 hours at most with the new client, and this will become faster once more new clients are up and running on the network.

It's still a bit unclear currently how the migration should work exactly in the end. If you could address those concerns everyone probably will sleep a bit better. Smiley Personally I don't mind (as long no coins get lost)... and not having to backup wallet files is a big plus, but beeing able to restore them from seeds/keys is a big plus. I don't care for any UI stuff, just make sure the command line stuff works properly on Ubuntu and OSX w/o having to deal with even more dependencies (Boost and CMake are nightmares enough! Especially on OSX)  Grin
I apologize for not explaining things more clearly. Fortunately, nothing NEEDS to be migrated, and this is why a lack of information was provided. You can always keep using your old, non-word-seed recovery friendly wallets if you want. And until we push an update requiring a hardfork for ring CT or other new features (probably in 2-3 months), you won't be required to even update the software.

I am happy to report that Monero works better out of the box on Linux, Mac and even ARM distros without requiring dependencies. Their deployment process, like all of the codebase, is just more mature than BCN.

Unrelated to that...

what exactly do I have to do on Reddit to qualify for the airdrop? Just subscribe the r/IntenseCoin reddit channel?
Sure, there are no specific requirements listed if I recall correctly

It s end of 20 january already, but we don t have a list of 4th round and rewards Sad

My apologies again, SlowGrowth has been very busy with real life matters (emergency). We really appreciate your guys' patience. Please do not worry, the entries are still recorded in the database, and bounties will be paid. Thank you.
That seems fair enough! And thank you for posting an update on this :-) Is it ok to change signature then, or should we wait until you guys have had the chance to go through our post history?

No problem, you can change it now, as our agreement was only to hold it until the end of the round.

hi guys I see you are doing a great job for the miners and the mining pool which is great, but to be honest your work with the bounty hunters so far is quite lousy.

Regarding the airdrop, you should at least post a spreadsheet to see who applied and who havnt, i know I have a few days ago and I return here today and go to the airdrop link and I see that I am able to apply AGAIN, instead of the system mentioning that I have applied before...

These tiny features in with that delivers an easy user technical experience are mandatory in my opinion for blockchain based projects.

I hope my opinion gets considered as an additional coin in the pool, not criticism, as I am part of your team now.

Thanks for the opportunity and good luck !
Thanks for your feedback darkrise, we appreciate your support. I'll mention the list to the team and see what they think. I apologize but I'm not familiar with typical bounty procedures.

Dear Devs,

If you see this, any chance you could bless us with a quality of life UX improvement for the wallet by adding Payment IDs to the "Contacts" list. Doesn't really do any good to save our Stocks.Ex address if we still gotta copy/paste the Payment ID in every time.
My apologies Crate but it won't happen since we are rebasing to a completely different GUI wallet in the near future. However, Monero also offers integrated addresses, which include the payment ID right in the 'address'.

But, really, nobody comenting about coin rebasing to monero? That's major.

Yes... very interesting. I would like to hear some more from the DEVs on that one.
It means the Intense console and graphical interfaces will be changing, and a lot of behind the scenes pieces will be updated to work more smoothly. It means we will have increased compatibility with exchanges, pools and other third parties. It means the ITNS code is being hugely upgraded and improved, and we're very excited. Outside of that I do not have any information to add beyond what was stated in the news post, but we'll update you as things evolve.

Hi guys is there any news or clue for new exchange market? IS there any work for decentralized exchange platforms such as https://www.altcoin.io/ or etc.?

No new exch before normal hardfork appliment, I think.
Hi guys is there any news or clue for new exchange market? IS there any work for decentralized exchange platforms such as https://www.altcoin.io/ or etc.?

The team is continuing to work on pursuing additional exchanges. I don't have any updates to provide you as nothing is certain yet. The news as of now is: "still no news". We will report as soon as something is guaranteed. It may be easier with the XMR rebase, but these talks are not on hold until the rebase is complete.

how to move a folder(AppData\Roaming\intensecoin) to another disk ??
and the wallet program can see the base (DB)

Use the --data-dir argument when launching the software. E.g. --data-dir f:\intensecoin

Hi all! There is hope for developers. So how do you plan to release the plugin VPN for browser-based purses, and after routers with integrated VPN. I would like to expand the capabilities of the wallet to start mining or to produce a Supplement(plugin) to it. Because the built-in miner is not good. Will it be possible to add a number of miners(sg-miner, xmr, ...) with manual adjustments. This is to allow the mine using the wallet on each working farm that will allow you to expand the scope of addresses for VPN. Is it possible this upgrade or is something out of science fiction?
It's quite a challenge to integrate third-party GPU miners with the wallet, mostly because the majority of anti-viruses and browsers block mining software from downloading or executing. This could really interfere with the usage and adoption of our products. That is why only a proprietary CPU miner is included with the wallet in its current form.

In the future we may look more closely into integrating GPU miners but for the time being, we are comfortable only including a proprietary CPU miner. Especially because there are many different GPU miners available, and people like to use certain ones, and often configure them in different ways. Anything we bundle with the software would have to be a "one size fits all" solution and lack configurability, again meaning most miners would use third-party apps anyway.

Hi all, quick update regarding the official pool:

Pool hardware once again upgraded to deal with the massive increase in bandwidth and hash power. Please accept our apologies for connection instability over the last few days. We expect significantly improved stability in the coming days, and we are continuing to seek alternative means for pool hosting and management. Mine on! Smiley
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: January 05, 2018, 05:17:11 PM
HI all, thanks for your continued interest and support in INTENSE! Please know the team is working hard every single day to bring you amazing products! Our Google Calendar is filling up more every week with meetings, and it's very exciting. Smiley

I have received several concerns and messages about banned IPs on the pool. I will echo here what was said in slack:

* Banned IPs occur for only two reasons: either your miner is submitting bad shares, which is caused by faulty hardware or too high of an overclock, or you are submitting shares too quickly (flooding). To rectify the first issue, fix your hardware. To rectify the second, use a higher difficulty. If you are using static difficulty, increase the number. Our block time is 120 seconds so you should be targeting a ~100 second share time to leave room for faster blocks. If you are not using static difficulty, use a higher starting port (7777, 9999, etc.) so your miner isn't flooding the server when it connects.

* Banned IPs only last 10 minutes

* If you are disconnecting from the pool, that is expected daily at 1000 UTC (0500 EST) as we have scheduled nightly restarts to address some issues in the nodejs API server becoming weary

Please note we are still planning to shift the 'official' pool responsibility to an experienced, competent and reputable pool operator, since we are (clearly  Grin) not pool operators. Talks are ongoing in this realm, as they have been for some time now, but it takes awhile to find someone credible and reliable. We do not want the official pool to be the primary hash rate of the network, and we are finally seeing the network hash rate increase far beyond the official pool indicating diversification of the network. Awesome. We will be increasing the fee shortly to further aid in diversification by incentivizing people to go elsewhere. This should also help mitigate some performance issues on the main pool as resource contention will be minimized.

Just coming here to echo what was communicated in Slack and Discord:

The main/official pool is currently undergoing maintenance. The downtime was unplanned but we had no choice due to connection issues that arose this evening. We have put extensive DDoS protection in place and are upgrading the hardware. Service is expected to be restored shortly (hopefully 15-20 minutes - we hit a snag in the upgrade and are working with our host now). Your patience is appreciated!

All is well in paradise again! Wink

IT'S HAPPENING: ITNS being voted for listing at #19 exchange in world.
Register at Bit-Z and verify your account TODAY!

https://intensecoin.com/2017/12/16/vote-for-itns-to-be-added-to-bit-z-exchange-airdrop/

Intense Coin (ITNS) is currently listed for voting on Bit-Z. Bit-Z is ranked #19 on Coin Market Cap overall in terms of exchanges, with $136 million USD in volume in the last 24 hours. If ITNS is able to amass the 5,000 votes required for listing, we will be added to Bit-Z. This is a huge step toward promoting awareness for Intense, and it is absolutely crucial that everyone takes action!

200 free votes (VoteCoin/VTC) are being given to all new users that register and verify on Bit-Z by December 18. Repeat, the DEADLINE for registration and verification of your account is December 18! If you do not register and verify your account by 12/18, you will not receive 200 votes. When Intense is successfully listed on Bit-Z, 2.5 million ITNS will be distributed to all users that voted.

Bit-Z is allowing each person to place up to 200 votes and requires 1,000,000 votes to add ITNS (hence 5,000; 1000000/200=5000). The entire Intense community needs to perform the following steps in order to ensure ITNS’ success on Bit-Z:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Create a Bit-Z account if you do not already have one.
2. By December 18, verify your account to ‘Level 2’ status. This requires inputting a country, name, street address and phone number.
3. By December 24, cast your 200 votes for Intense coin.
4. Share this information with everyone!

In addition to the 2.5 mil ITNS that Bit-Z is distributing to all voters, the Intense Team wants to sweeten the pot with a Twitter bounty. FIVE (5) lucky people that retweet this post will split 250,000 ITNS (random drawing)!

DON’T DELAY, TAKE ACTION NOW!

when will we have the beta version out ?

We'll have updated information regarding tech, timeline & operations coming on soon!
Here is the tweet regarding it:

"One a day within the next 2 weeks we'll have some bigger operational changes to announce! $ITNS
Stay tuned! "

https://twitter.com/intensecoin/status/936569323371446272

Dev no see   1 week

We are more active in Discord at the moment, however we'll do our best engaging more with the community on bitcointalk in the future.

Thank you all for your support so far. We really highly appreciate it!

Ensure that you update your wallet version to 1.4.1 as soon as possible if you have not done it yet.

"One a day within the next 2 weeks we'll have some bigger operational changes to announce! $ITNS"  Grin
This is why growing rate!

Now:
"After extensive assessment, collaboration, and evaluation, it was determined the previous team in place was not up to the task of creating the product we have in mind. Therefore, the entire development team tasked with VPN development has been replaced."  Huh
And
"...VPN wallet integration in Q2 of 2018"

We acknowledge that this delay was not something we were pleased about, either. But please look at the big picture. In the end, we will have a much more successful product, and additional products (the browser extension will be here in 2 months at most). ITNS still has plenty of things to be happy about, and much to look forward to. The team is in it for the long haul, and you better believe we are executing buy orders right now  Grin

Hi DEV team, is there any chanse to put 2FA on wallet?

Regards

Interesting idea. The wallets already offer options for password encryption so adding 2FA might be overkill.

--

Official pool update (http://intensecoin.com/pool/): Pool payout frequency reduced to once every 2 hours to reduce transaction issues for users. If users inputs in their wallets are comprised of only very small amounts of coins, it becomes a challenge to send large amounts of coins in one transaction later.

Version 1.4.1 has been released to address a sync issue in 1.4.0. We apologize to anyone that experienced problems with 1.4.0, and thanks to your feedback, we were able to quickly resolve the issue. 1.4.1 is now the required version for block 76500 and 1.4.0 has been removed from the releases page. Please note if you used 1.4.0, you will need to reset your blockchain data.

Instructions are on release page: https://github.com/valiant1x/intensecoinwallet/releases/latest
