Don't use Ethereum if your transactions are below $1000. Ethereum has been as good as dead for normal users for now. I avoid Ethereum and ETH tokens like black plague.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano, XRP and LINK "massive giveaway" scams on: December 14, 2023, 02:15:11 PM
This has been going on for years. Sometimes it's elon musk, sometimes it's Rock and sometimes it the bill gates.
Sometimes they just show a completely different video and put a overlay to a fake giveaway where people get double or x10 money for every amount they send.
And the most compelling part is the number of subscribers they have, it seems like a real account to most. Youtube takes them down after some reports but still many people are falling for it.
The only way to stop them is realizing that there's no giving money to get more money.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trade altcoins during the bull run or just hodl? on: December 13, 2023, 02:38:13 PM
Next year will be my first bull run and have just been thinking about what will be best to do when it finally arrives next year.

Do you plan on just holding till an amount you are happy with or is it a good idea to try and trade altcoins whilst they are pumping to earn even more?

I consider myself as an investor so I don't trade on bull but that doesn't mean that I wont be selling before a x point.
I have a number of exit points for my invested coins and I focus on getting a profit on every 20% increase in sell.
What I don't do is buying. I did that mistake in the past and won't be repeating it.

66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: September 21, 2023, 03:09:33 PM
Gambling corrupts the mind of young people so we as parents should never let them see us gamble because there is power in emulation, they might think that the money that you sustain are coming from gambling, so they will try it out and see if they can also make money from what you're doing.
Don't let them know that you're into gambling and if they come to the right age let them understand that you're gambling for pure fun not to make money to sustain the needs of the family.

Gambling for minors is very dangerous, they cannot be responsible when gambling, besides that they also do not have a job and a steady income so it will be a serious problem if they gamble. However, if your children are old enough, it is best to educate them about the responsibilities of gambling, explain that gambling is not a way to earn money, and tell them about the dangers of gambling addiction, so that they can really know what gambling is and what the dangers of gambling are.

Gambling indeed is not for the children or someone who doesn't have an income of their own. It is also not for the people who can't control their emotions.
Gambling strictly is a sport of responsible adult. And it's wise to devoid the kids of any experience about gambling.
There are slot machines in some gaming corners which could build the curiosity of gambling to the children and another place where parents should be aware is of online gaming. There are multiple gaming apps that provide free tokens for gambling and ask for money if they want more tokens. This may lead to your child using your money without authorization.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How did Ripple (XRP) become so popular and blow up in price? on: September 21, 2023, 05:04:04 AM
Hi all,

Relatively new to trading crypto for altcoins so was just wondering if anyone knew how did Ripple blow up so high in price?

It has a circulating supply of 53,175,400,720 (Coinmarketcap) , a max supply of 100,000,000,000, yet it still managed to astronomically increase it's price from $0.0029438 to $3.84?

I didn't know a coin could have so much supply yet increase to that price, so how did it all happen?

There's a single reason why Ripple, a much inferior coin became a successful one and is still a widely used is it being an early coin. There were very few coins when Ripple came to existence and being a centralized coin, it's transactions were fast and it's promises were high. A large number of supply means cheaper in price which made it accessible to large number of people. Some just compared its price with the like of bitcoin and Ethereum without knowing the technicalities. Overall, Ripple had a benefits of being one of the earlier coin and a lot of people are invested in it. So, even though it comes with large obstacles and hindrances, it's demise is not that quick.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could SocialFi be the new trend in crypto? on: September 20, 2023, 05:12:45 PM
Do you think SocialFi can be the new trend in crypto?
I don't think so. There have been a bunch of them in the past but never got the spotlight.

Yes, there were plenty of them and all of them failed. It's even not as easy for defis to stay afloat in this market and a lot of people have moved back to centralized exchanges for their trading needs. In a similar manner, centralized social places generally provide a better service and platform for interaction and exposure. It's like we can make a better looking and fancy alternative to the forum but can't necessarily be able to move the userbase to that site. For a socialFi to success, it should be a good social place to start with. For example, telegram could turn into a socialFi if they carefully take the right steps.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinions on Native Coins/Tokens of Exchanges? on: September 19, 2023, 10:35:58 AM
So, one thing that's been on my mind is the native tokens of exchanges. You know, those little guys that make the crypto world go 'round within specific exchange platforms.

Basically BNB holds 1st place as the top most native token, and the growth of that coin is really high over time. And it is really also volatile at this point. so I started looking more around native tokens.
And, so MAX token, I recently got introduced to it via its listing on Bitget exchange, so I understand some of you may not familiar with MAX. It is the utility token issued by MaiCoin Asset Exchange based in Taipei, Taiwan and it is a part of MaiCoin Group. Charlie Lee and Vitalik are also advisors of this group and so if you remember, Vitalik was giving an update about ETH 2.0 at Maicoin STO conference in Taipei a long time ago and also did a podcast with Maicoin, discussing Ethereum's transition to Proof of Stake, regulatory challenges, economic disparities in cryptocurrency, innovative solutions from Radical Markets like quadratic funding etc. This native token may not be recognized as top as BNB but still a great native token to have around in my opinion.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you holding any native tokens that may boom?

I still trust on BNB, they have reached quite high recently but still a good price as a $500+ is sure when the bull arrives.
Kucoin is another popular exchange among english speaking users and KCS also holds good price proposition. A recent accusation of Kucoin not holding every staked amount of users hurt the exchange reputation but the exchange is still going strong and would be a good business when the bull arrives.
I also in some period of time bought FTT token as FTX was said to be overtaking binance on volume of transaction amount soon but that led to a disaster, so exchange coins are not a full proof investment without risk.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What’s the current trend on altcoin right now? on: September 18, 2023, 09:25:11 AM
I’m browsing coinmarketcap to scout potential altcoins to ape on this dip. I’m not sure what’s the current trend since Move2Earn, Play2Earn and other DeFi is not that popular anymore. I really hate meme coin which I know that still hot today since this is a ponzi token that most crypto traders really like due to get quick rich nature.

Do you knew something new that has the potential to trend?

The hot topic in my opinion is the gradual dumping of Solana held by FTX. The total amount of solana held by FTX equals to 15% of total solana supply. The dumping would not be outright but a systematic ranging a large time frame. That means solana could be a good option to grid trade at the moment. And not a good option if you plan to hold it longer. The current price trend seems to be a bull trap and we could get solana at a discounted price starting next week.
Another hot topic today was the coin RSS3 available for cheaper than the ICO price.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $28M stolen from CoinEx - are your funds safe? on: September 17, 2023, 09:28:34 AM
No one is gonna get back anything as I have hardly heard about this exchange and that too for wrong reasons like bot manipulation of their trades, users should accept the reality and move on instead of hoping that Coinex will refund their funds as this exchange itself is unreliable. It's sad to see how users are losing their fund and it's high time we should start learning more metamask or hardware wallet if they could afford it.

This also pushes us towards more reliable exchange who can afford to reimburse incase of such attacks.
Coinex is quite a popular exchange from popular company viabtc. Viabtc again is funded by the world's largest ASIC manufacturer, Bitmain.
The hack is now estimated to be of $54 million. Which is still a large amount but not a huge one for a large exchange.
So coinex though not the top exchange by transaction volume is a trusted exchange and large enough that it's capable of returning millions to the users.
I have an account on coinex and have some funds on it which are not affected by the hack.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Algorand dead or can it recover? on: September 16, 2023, 03:26:40 PM
I hold Algorand and not sure if I should buy these low prices or just hold and accept its over ??

It is currently at its lowest price in 3 years and almost at its all time low.

The SEC labelling it a security has put a lot of fear into everyone.

Does it have a future or is it over?

I think the coin is good as dead. The coin without much success is having obstacles and hurdles on every step.
There are 100s of alternatives that are trying to achieve what algorand is trying to. The motto are a bit different like algorand claims to bridge the gap between traditional and futurefi but every of side chain platform are trying to do the same. The war is of recognition, speed, fees and adoption. And with its years lost without much adoption, there's no way it would be able to compete with popular utility coins now and any potential competitor that may be introduced in future.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Will be Optimism (OP) Airdrop Round 3 Scenarios? on: September 14, 2023, 10:27:48 AM
I had used Optimism back than. But I haven't done large number of transactions. The only reason I used Optimism due to its lower fee for using dapp and lower fee withdrawing from some centralized exchange. But it was also a hassle as I thought OP were the gas for the platform but it was actually wrapped ether which was even hard to get hands on. This made me use the platform less as matic became my cheap goto alternative for Ethereum platform.
The airdrop would be a good reward for the loyal users of OP as most of us occasional users would have no chance.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: September 13, 2023, 03:41:01 PM
Airdrops has became more complicated and we need to do all those stupid things with are social accounts. No real person would fill their social media feed with repeated shares. They are just for fake accounts. I now only participate in signature campaigns as I don't need to share my real name, social media, phone numbers and can enroll with just my Bitcointalk id and telegram. Though the quality and demand for signature ads has been degrading drastically and its getting difficult to find a good one.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PEPE time to buy NOW? on: September 13, 2023, 11:06:44 AM
The PEPE  is down to 0.000001 value  now is good time to buy yes?Huh?
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/pepe/

Binance aproves PEPE as a good oportunity.11.5
Elon musk made a Tweet about PEPE 10.5

5000% PROFIT IN MAY POSSIBLE TO ALL ?

PEPE is much lower at the moment. $0.00000067 per unit. Yes, it is a good time to accumulate some PEPE. There are a lot of people holding their coins at an average buy price much higher. So, a lot of people won't sell it for cheap and With it being accepted in multiple wallets and exchanges, the popularity of PEPE is on increase and not fading anytime soon. So, there would be more and more investors. PEPE is a good investment if you want to get x10 in the next couple of years.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What altcoins do you think are currently still cheap but have good potential for on: September 12, 2023, 03:52:35 PM
For me it's solana. It's cheap. About $18 now. On it's high, it was well above $250, 13 times higher than now.
Is a direct and strong competitor to Ethereum and Unlike etherum has a limited supply. It's quicker than most (maybe all) other alternatives.
Any better alternative of Ethereum like matic, avalanche, optimism, hedera, etc would be a better option as they would be hot cakes if a bull arrives.
Another good option for short term is pepe, as it still has the hype while price is on one of the lowest. It's one of the new generation of meme token and would hit a few more highs at least.

77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Intra Arbitrage (your thought please) on: September 09, 2023, 01:48:03 AM
It works but you need to be fast to react to the changes, which is nearly impossible. Imacro like automation could be used but it don't read the live data. You need to sleep and can't place manually 24/7. It's better to look for alternative bots.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PEPE's $16M Nightmare: Ex-Team Under Fire on: September 02, 2023, 05:19:15 PM
Three former members of the PEPE community are alleged to have stolen $16 million worth of PEPE tokens from the project's multisig wallet and transferred control to the only remaining member.

The anonymous founding member clarified the situation, explaining that the ex-team members stole the funds and abandoned the project, leaving control in the hands of the remaining member. The stolen funds were sent to exchanges for selling, while the remaining member and the remaining 10 trillion PEPE tokens are secured.

The remaining member is now focused on moving forward in the best interest of the PEPE community. This is what happens when you trust anonymous frogs with your money.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/rogue-pepecoin-team-members-blamed-for-pepe-multsig-withdrawal

The news has been confirmed by the remaining team member so there's no doubt it did occur..
This news though unfortunate for PEPE holders as price came falling down is favorable for someone like me who feels like missed out of the PEPE jump. This is a good time to buy in Pepe if you have the money. I being invested heavily on other projects already, took out some of my spare coins and bought a good amount of PEPE for the first time, just today. Pepe would certainly recover from the current situation.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple Unlocks One Billion XRP, What will impact on it’s Price? on: September 01, 2023, 03:29:58 PM
The price effect is already being seen already as Ripple falls more than 3.5% in last 24 hours. That's highest among the top 10 cryptos by marketcap. It's in its lowest point than the entire month of August.
I'm neutral about the news of Ripple's win over U.S. SEC. It could bring a positive sentiments for people holding the coins but I still don't think it as a better coin compared to any other popular alts even for short or long term.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Finally Time For AI Coins? on: September 01, 2023, 10:28:14 AM
AI is a potential field for future, but not everyone and everything trying to venture into AI would be successful. AI surely has lesser competition but it also an advanced and expensive field to excel in. The method of choice of a new project for investments would be same for every projects and every projects should be individually studied before making a decision. Be it of any kind.
Research about the experience, capabilities and roadmap before investing on an AI project. Investing in something just because you believe in AI would be equal to a stupid gambling bet.
