61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 10, 2014, 11:43:20 AM
Last time I saw the coinedup buy/sell wall look like this was before the moonshot.
I guess nobody want to sell to buy bitcoin at the moment, 47BTC on the buy side is pretty solid for this time of day.
There and my BTC including  Grin
I think - next target 0.01-0.015 in this week.
P.S. BTС is fully shit, because my new BTC transaction is spending already 1 hour !!! I paid transaction fee.

Only 80BTC ( or 14000 VTC) will break all walls and escalate VTC to 0.01 now.

Will this new algorithm kill all ASICS?  Finally BTC 2.0 to be released.

I believe there will be 1:1 BTC to BTC 2.0 exchange rate to transition all units.

Jballs: Love the concept. VTC will be fucking PLATINUM!
Mining profit with VTC is 50% more than DOGE even if DOGE/BTC is 50% more than current price of 0.00000300.

Can someone provide a link, instructions, or tutorial on how to join and mine on a p2p pool?  I just figured out how to mine in a traditional pool.  But I only have one gpu. I am thinking I should be able to do better in a p2p pool, correct?

Boris has an FAQ at https://vtcpool.co.uk/p2pool-guide.html

Large pool down now VTC.POOLZ.NET which used to have 1000 workers and 1GH/s.  How can a p2pool node more stable to traditional pool?

I have a couple questions I was hoping you guys could help out with. I am looking at buying a mining rig that has 7 r9 290 GPU's. The rig has 4 GB of ram. From the research I have been doing it seems that vertcoin uses a lot more memory compared to other currency's. Do you have any baseline of how much ram will be needed for 7 290 GPU's? I was thinking of putting 16gb in there and giving it a try. Thanks in advance.

You need to flash R290 to R290X and I think it is 8GB minimum for TC above 8192.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 07, 2014, 11:39:06 PM
Another day experiment give me new observations :

Systems limit by 4GB give TC limit of 8192 and Intensity 13 regardless of number of GPU.

Testing one rig with 8GB with 2 R290X can equally drive to 440kH/s each and undervolt by 50mV  with MSI Afterburner E 1000 M 1500 TC 24000.

For normal R290, Hynix RAM (E 1000 M 1500 ) outrun Elpida (947 1250 ) by 10% give 440kH/s to 400kH/s.   Elpida with 1000 1500 seems not the optimum setting anymore and instead will drop to 380kH/s.  TC 24000.

The Adaptive each time + 1 will need additional 4GB RAM?  8GB can only last you to 2016.  After 2 years faster RAM and GPU will replace the current generations of GPU and RAM with 12nm devices.  So ASIC with 100 times speed need 800 GB RAM will be economically not viable.

Trying a few P2PPool with no Reject and no HW error with over 1MH/s for hours but "no shares yet".  Why is that?

Normal pools:
vert.bitcrush.info
https://vtcpool.co.uk/

Unable to withdraw, unable to verify email, update VTC address, verify email "invalid token".

Ive gone lone periods without a payout on P2Pool, but it averages out in the end. I've been on it since Sunday and have been getting more than I expected to get. It should even out with a string of payments at some point. There is no 'withdraw' you get paid directly to your wallet with your address as the username in cgminer.
For p2pool, I thought pay out should happen after confirmation at every block and single small numbers even if it is 1 satoshi or 0.000000001 in a block.  I just want to see at least it works.  Is the password important?

I guess the VTC just transfer to address without needs of VTC wallet open using rpcuser/rpcpassword right?

But the P2Pool static website show the VTC wallet address has no shares yet as well.

These countries are enjoying the growth from creating wealth through increasing FIAT numbers by creating more debt based future credits.

The next events I will see the crisis of FOREX rate and more currency swap deals.  But currency swap deals is too expensive as compared to BTC network.

So watching closely for political fight on who control the money now in Russia.

VTCPOOL.co.uk down for 2 days now !! I had some coins there it would be nice if we could have an update  Sad

I tried 3 options.

solo mine, mining pools, p2p pools but zero payout.  51% attack weakness is a design flaw for any new crypto that don't overcome the problem as in the beginning the network hashrate will be easily compromise by large pool with large hashing power.

Is VERT able to defend 51% attack?  I think limiting the pool size by restricting the registering is not the solution but the core design of blockchain have to be change.

Testing https://vtcpool.co.uk/ last 2 days.

I created account but account lock verify email does not work, unable to update account with VERT wallet address and unable to withdraw.

Recreate another account same problem.

Amazing that people prefer to withdraw BTC instead of USD.
73  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox SCAM? $38million disappeared. Large sums affected. on: February 06, 2014, 02:23:46 PM
It is an experiment how a Bank Run or self regulated virtual financial world occurs on BTC world.

Nothing can make BTC more safe than improving the core technology itself.

The cost of lawyers and politicians participations is the fundamental cost of trust that collapse the FIAT world where monetary system cannot be trusted unless the terms "legal tender" which means the trust is none except by brute force of legal tender status.

There are few concepts which deter monopoly centralize mining power and introduce trust on the merchant reputations payment address.  MT GOX is the most reputable exchange and under attack.  After the event is over, BTC will hit new high and possibly rise 10 folds against FIAT where BTC can resolve problems unseen in FIAT world.

Hi,

this is the config for my AMD Sapphire r9 290 (Hawaii, firmware updated)  under debian jessie and catalyst 14.1

export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=200
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1

{
"pools" : [
  ....
],
"intensity": "20",
"worksize": "256",
"vectors" : "1",
"lookup-gap" : "2",
"gpu-fan" : "100",
"thread-concurrency": "33280",
"gpu-engine": "1000",
"gpu-memclock": "1500",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"temp-cutoff" : "120",
"temp-overheat" : "80",
"temp-target" : "70",

"expiry" : "120",
"gpu-threads" : "1",
"log" : "5",
"queue" : "0",
"scan-time" : "60"
}

The result is 391 kh/s with ZERO HW

Try increase temp-target to 95 and temp-overheat to 100 may get 440kh/s.  Hynix should be 500kh/s.  But the GPU temp should stabilize at room temp + 50 degree Celsius.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 05, 2014, 02:10:37 PM
So i bought an extra set of 4gb ram, and cranked up my r9 290 from 230 kh/s to 440 kh/s Smiley

Samsung and Hynix and Elpida benefit from VERTCOINS.  Their shares will jump like BITCOIN 10 fold.  Roll Eyes
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The big VTC Vertcoin settings thread on: February 05, 2014, 01:05:54 PM
Can anyone please help me. I'm only getting 240khs per 290s and i have 4 r9 290s. heres my spec.. and i have 4gb of ram running windows 7 64 bit

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
"C:\Users\Mining Rig 1\Desktop\vertminer-0.5.3\vertminer.exe" -o stratum+tcp://s.ny.vertco.in:3333 -u fafs.1 -p fasfs -I 13 -g 1 -w 512 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 8191 --gpu-engine 947 --gpu-memclock 1250 --auto-fan --temp-cutoff 85 --temp-overheat 83 --temp-target 75

I have the same problem first trying yesterday.  Today just increase System RAM to 8GB and easily jump to 420Kh/s.  But I am not sure 4 GPU need 32GB or not LOL
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200
TC increase to 24000 and OC the VCC with 50mV E 1000 M 1500.

R9 290 around 255KH/s.  Only Intensity max 13 and TC varies from 8192 to 14320 no difference to hashrate.  M:1500E:1000 increases to 270Kh/s

Higher Intensity produces HW errors.

Today add another 4GB to a total 8GB system RAM from 4GB and Intensity can increase to 20 smoothly and Hash increases to 420kH/s R 290 Flash with 290X BIOS.

Using command line

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 200
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o [mining pool] --gpu-vddc 1 --gpu-fan 100 --gpu-engine 1000 --gpu-memclock 1500 --thread-concurrency 24000 -g 1 -I 20 --worksize 512 --gpu-powertune +20 --lookup-gap 2 -u -p [p]

These are getting me about 330KH/s per GPU when using the PC.

When not using the PC for other stuff, I increase intensity to 20 and get 400KH/s per GPU.

A 7970, 7950 and any other configs and hashrates achieved would be great.
Is the HW high?  I can achieve 400KH/s with Intensity 20 but very high HW errors.  I cannot use 70% of normal scrypt TC as well.
