Got my unit this evening and have been working to get it setup. I am using a LEPA 1600 watt PSU, but the 2 units won't start up with it. I can get the red lights blinking, but when I start the units up, everything just shuts off. I can start each unit individually, but not sure whats going on when trying to run both. Any ideas?
Interesting. When I first set up my miners, I had one running on a lepa g1600 without any issues except the ones we have all been discusing. Right now im using the 2880W IBM power supplies, each powering 2 rigs. Are you saying that the power to the miners shuts off when you turn the Lepa on? If so, it could be a short. I would try one board at a time and see if you can get it going that way. The PI seems to be powered through the ribbon cable, so only a single board is needed to get the PI online. If the miner lights go out, do the lights on the PI stay on or does everything go off? So i plug in all 4 6 pin connectors, and both units will start up, it takes about 20 seconds or so before they start to mine, but before they start mining, the PSU just shuts off, including the pi. I have tried each unit separately, and they run without any issues. I also remembered I had an extra 600 watt PSU upstairs and got that plugged in to one, with the LEPA in the other, the first time it started up and I was able to see both of them on the live stats, but I don't think they were both hashing as nicehash didn't show more than 140 MH/s. Now, I can't get both of them to show up again. EDIT: I realized my little 600 watt PSU really is at the end of its life and can no longer sustain output. Just laid the ol guy to rest in the trash can. Plugged it in with a different PSU and they are both hashing away. But, again, its on 2 different PSU's. Not sure what is going on. I have Lepa 1600 and i was running 4cubes of titan on it. So it was pulling like 1250W on those cubes, BUT - those psu's act strange sometime, they suddenly turn off - and You cant get them up untill You disconnect them from power and unit for couple mins, some fragile protection i guess. Same thing happens to my friend with same Lepa psu. Happened to me once or twice even with GPU's and it wasnt pulling that much. Tho never had such issues with Platimax 1500W. Best to use serwer psu's imo. Im running all my Titans and GPU's on 2kW IBM/Delta's right now - cheaper and better

Guys, which MB did You test and recommend for 7gpu rigs? Beside MSI z97 gaming 5 that one is doin fine.
I think there are a lot of guys running 7 gpu are using a cheap ATX mobo with a PCIE 1x - 3x multiplier board. It's a little splitter card that plugs into a 1x slot and has a companion board with 3x pcie slots. You can get them for around $30 on ebay or Amazon. 6 gpu guys run asrock or biostar h81 mobos with 6 slots. The Asrock H81 mother board is good for the 6 GPU. With that motherboard and 6X RX 480, you need only 1000W PSU. Power is not the issue i got plenty as i use cheaper server psu's

ill be blunt, You pointed me 3 motherboards with 6xpcie and one motherboard which i already mensioned i know of just to offer me Your product and i asked about none of those. What i asked is MB with 7xpcie that someone already has/had and it works with 7gpu with no problem (i already have MSI Z97 gaming and its working great but has limited supply where im from), not 6xgpu mb, not additional multipliers and especially not complete rig for sale.
I know he posted a link to his rigs But why would you buy an expensive mobo rather than a multiplier board? What is the thinking? You're doubling your mobo cost at least by trying to find a fancy one that can run 7 cards rather than a cheap one with multiplier. asrock H81 costs new in shop 83$ used MSI Z97gaming 5 costs 105$ so do the math, besides when i want to resell it later it will be much easier.

I am already with clymore i was before with genoil but i havr with both the same problem 1 of my cards is working only 5-6 sols... The rest are at 40-45 but this is only 5-6 the cards are r9 280 how to fix that?
are You using msi afterburner? Yes I am, why? reset all core/mem settings in it for this card, sometimes it gets stuck even if it displays correct values and effect is what You have above, hope it helps

I've got a couple of Powercolor Devil RX480 8GB coming tomorrow. Anyone else using these for mining? Edit: Put the new Powercolor Devil RX480s in my main PC so moved the Sapphire cards into one rig of 6. 6 x Sapphire Nitro+ RX480, mining at 180mh/s, drawing 845w from the wall with a EVGA 1300w G2. I suspect if I was to use my EVGA 1600W T2 I could get it down to 820w, maybe even less. All cards set to 1130/2175 with core voltage at 0.9v. I knew it could be done! Happy to post video proof if anyone wants? i would be even happier if You share rom pretty please

The hardware discussed in this thread will cover your Molex needs. Something like a PicoPSU would power the motherboard. I can put you together a kit price estimate if you like.
Yes, a kit quote including everything I need would be appreciated. Thanks! aye, id also like quote for such kit i already got psu and breakout boards, would like to use those with it

Wow, I bow before your Google skills! If you actually look at the board, you can see that they've actually populated a bunch of the unused spaces on the riser, so I think it's pretty safe to say that they're doing the 12v -> 5v stepdown on the riser. I found a slightly different version that I liked a bit more and shot them an email to get some to do some testing with... I'm not certain that I like it better than sidehack's solution, but it's certainly worth evaluating. Yeah i noticed those, but im green as for electronics so had no idea if it is actually for stepdown to 5v. Im checking all options including sidehacks boards but since im from EU i will check those risers too. Will wait for info about them and how it goes. I just bought bunch of dps-2000bb and looking for breakout boards aswell, not that easy in EU.
