Hello! Could you please tell me the name of the Telegram chat and which browser you use?

Chrome Browser...

I was doing gambling with BCN that day and I lost most amount,  so I  left BCN telegram even . Is it happening because of that ?

Please check the latest Chrome updates or contact their support service, maybe it will be helpful. In the meantime, I have checked your link and it works, so perhaps the problem is in the browser.

Anonymity Improvements

Making an anonymous and untraceable cryptocurrency is, by no means, an easy task; blockchain is by default a public system. This is why Bytecoin developers were prompted to use unconventional methods to achieve anonymity: ring signatures to facilitate that anonymity and untraceable addresses to facilitate unlinkability. In this article, we want to examine these systems and describe what the upcoming changes to consensus regarding anonymity are all about.

Ring signatures are an elegant solution to a complex problem: how to make blockchain verifiable, but at the same time preserve the anonymity of senders. They solve it by allowing senders to mix other coins into the transaction to obscure the true origin of value in it. This system offered seven degrees of anonymity to the users: from 0 to 6. This number corresponds to the number of outputs (sometimes called coins) that are mixed in with the senders output in the transaction.

Bytecoin developers were surprised to see increased interest towards 0 anonymity. Turns out, users loved Bytecoin not only for its privacy and security, but also for its speed, reliability, and ease of use. It is important to say now, that by selecting 0 anonymity, the user still does not reveal their address (they are never revealed in Bytecoin). But what he does allow is anyone to track the movement of value between this user’s transactions within the blockchain by connecting coins created in one transaction to their spendings in other (this is called linkability).

In order to prevent this, Bytecoin developers have decided to configure the daemon in the new release to send transactions with minimum anonymity being greater than 3. In addition, the mix-ins are now carefully selected only from those coins retaining their obfuscating value. This small adjustment makes all value movements obscure and makes all spendings more secure.

While this configuration may generally require a little more economic effort (although 0 fee is still allowed), it brings a lot of value to the technology. Bytecoin has always been about security and privacy, and it is better to keep it true to its roots.

You can test out the new features soon in the Amethyst Beta release on the 12th of December, 2018. Stay tuned!

Best regards,

The Bytecoin Team

The Updated Bytecoin Roadmap has been released

For the past several months the Bytecoin Team has been working on a series of very important features and innovations in the Bytecoin software. A lot of work has been done and now it is possible to put the release dates of these features on the timeline. Here is the Roadmap for the Bytecoin project for the end of 2018 - the beginning of 2019:

Details here:https://bytecoin.org/blog/bytecoin-roadmap-q4-2018-q1-2019
so we will have to wait for 4  more months  or to hold more then 4 months .. to get BCN back to its actual price I mean to say 45+ where it was earlier..

Hi, tirthraj!

We cannot give any price predictions, but we are optimistic about it. We cannot directly influence the price - it follows the laws of supply and demand. If more people would like to buy Bytecoin, then its price will rise to meet the demand.

Dear All!

I've used a desktop wallet. Have used. Now I don't know where am I because of it's impossible to call it "use".

After the v3 was published I have found out that my wallet is out of sync, devs have changed the blockchain storage type to SQLite, the old blockchain is useless and there is no a new blockchain to download. So I had to resync my wallet from 0.
It took not so long time, just about 4 weeks. You know, it's more than 3 and less than 5.
4 weeks!

Meanhile a new wallet was published, v3.3.2.
And my wallet says it's out of sync again!

What the hell is going on? You mean I have to wait for a 4 weeks again?

Now I have about 85GB of the various official blockchains, 0 warnings about such critical changes as a change of blockchain storaging type and no official information about what is going on.

Is there any ways for normal use of BCN in present time or should I forget of it?

Why can't you publish a blockchain/bootstrap/fckng-sync-file or something else not to waste my time and electricity!

Hi, Leningrad00!

We are sorry to hear about your issue. Thanks for the info.

There was just one time it was necessary to resync the blockchain this year - when updating to version 3.2.0. It is an inconvenience of sorts, but it allowed us to change the database format, and it got noticeably faster and smaller.

What you can do is connect to the public node you trust and avoid syncig the blockchain altogether. All you need to do is go to “Tools” -> “Wallet daemon parameters” and use the following command with the IP and port of your node of choice:

--bytecoind-remote-address=<ip:port>

Take a look here for the node address, for example:

https://node.bytecoins.world/

What is worth noting here is that as our tests showed, in most cases the harddrive is the bottleneck when syncing the blockchain. During the sync, the software not only downloads the data, but also makes a lot of cryptographic and read/write operations on the harddrive. The actual amount of information, transferred through the network is around 10 GB, less than the half of the blockchain. As a side note, we recommend you to check how much time the network and the harddrive are busy to determine the bottleneck.

Any chance for listing BCN at Bittrex or a relisting at Binance?

Nobody knows about future listing only dev has this info what efforts they are making right now. But to be honest I don't have good hope about this it will restore on Binance.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, addicto!

Hi, ByteFree!

Thanks for your support! Not problems really, just a lot of work, work, work Smiley

I think Bytecoin devs have stopped working on this project. and this coin will not be listing on the new exchanges.

Hi, searchcorve!

Nope, still working, it is just an intense period Smiley We will release the info and the roadmap soon, so stay tuned.
are you planning to list your coins on new exchanges? when this question is asked, why is it that no one answer it? for the project developed since 2014 it is scary

Hi, goldart!

Yes, of course. As you may understand, exchanges prefer if we keep the information about upcoming listings private until the very listing to avoid these so-called "price manipulations". Even more, exchanges usually don't inform us about the exact time of listing for the very same reason, which is an industry practice.
Thanks for caring and for understanding. Stay tuned!

Why has the team not released the reason for the coin being delisted? That was a week ago and yet we still have no response. I have a feeling poloniex will be next, there's been issues with the wallet for ages.

Without this coin being on big exchanges the price will really fall.

Good luck BCN team

There is something wrong with this coin dev is not cooperating with big exchanges and failed to make them satisfied as they are claiming. I think they should explain on current situation to let know the community on these issues and what solution they have to make it back.

The coin is DEAD has been discovered the farza, in recent months have shown their true intentions, the bytecoin code is malisioso, has overflow of memory, something that I suspect have used to stop wallets out of line during the pumps and dumps organized by themselves

Hi, GranRethory!

We would be glad if you give us any proof of these memory leaks.
the efforts shown by bcn team are mainly responsible for the downfall of this coin, time for the devs to realize that they need to create more value on this coin.

Hi, goldart!

We are always eager to hear the ideas from the community, so feel free to tell us what you think.

Even this coin delisted from big exchanges but price is still into nice trend maybe big players are still buying this for next pump. I hope so dev will improve this network and will bring more better solution so it will get chance to list on big exchanges again.

Thanks for the support, bitcircle!

If none of these messages are signed with proper pgp key then DONT believe they are who they say they are.

Hi, estell55!

Thanks for caring. Technically there is no conventional "admins" in Bitcointalk, but we have been answering and making announcements in this thread from this account for quite a while. This channel of communication is listed on the Contact tab of the official website.

HuhHuhHuhHuh??

Thanks for the info, ruslan3791979. This info is not correct: I have just checked Bytecoin deposits via Poloniex API and they are still open with 2000 confirmations.

Bytecoin deposits were temporarily disabled for a short time before the confirmations number was changed to 2000, and the screenshot says that the conversation has happened 3 days ago, so maybe the conversation had happened during that period.

Currently we are in close communication with Poloniex.
