Hey, Bitcoinwisdom

I have a feature request. I know it is not so simple, but I want to make a case for it:

I noticed that I'm using your site a lot. More than tradingview, even, because your site is so damn fast.

Here's an example of what the problem is:

Sometimes I want to look at the 15min resolution charts in the past. That doesn't work well on Bitcoinwisdom, because the 15min history "window" is pretty small.

Now, I understand this is by design, to keep your service fast and lean.

So you cannot (and don't want to) increase this window.

But what if we would get the option to set a window of the same size, but with different START and END dates?

Example:

Time resolution 15 min. Time window size is about 900 candles (correct?) = about 9 days in 15 min resolution.

Option 1 (current way): I can "scroll" back 9 days.

Option 2 (what I suggest): I can, in addition, enter: Start date "May 1 2013" and End date "May 10 2013" to be displayed.

Within this window, I can now scroll around, but I cannot scroll to *earlier* than May 1, or *later* than May 10, so the max history of 900 candles is still respected (and the display is still fast).

Does that make any sense?
I'm afraid it still cannot be supported recently. Because the 900 candles is packed in one gzip file. When user request the data, server just simple send the gzip file to user. there is no data before 900 in server.

For good news, I'm trying rewrite the structure these weeks. Not only for dynamic loading more candles but also more pairs could be supported.

There is (an old and persistent bug) to report.

The site (or the browser) seems to experience a malfunction when using the lines drawing tool. I know this has been reported before in a past page. It wasn't resolved back then.

The issue sporadically prevents the use of the drawing lines tool on charts. Sometimes it takes up to a day for it to resolve itself.

Logging in and out sometimes does not resolve the issue.

See below:

I am using the latest chrome version available.
Previous Chrome versions had this problem.
The issue also appears in IE 9+.
I still have no idea how it happen. It would be great if you could find the steps to reproduce the issue.

Hi everyone,

I want to send a little feedback related to the Volume indicator that bitcoinwisdom shows to us.

In my opinion, the way that it is showed to us is not the correct way. Volumen, as the word itself says, show us the QUANTITY of the trades, no matter if it is a seller volume or buyer volume. They show it in a vertical bar.

In the website you colored the vertical bars green or red depending if the price goes up or is going down.

Well the fact is that sometimes, if someone put a wall and in the opposite direction of the order book is cleared or partially cleared compared to the wall, could happen this:

- Price: 500$ (We will avoid fractions for the example)

- At 501$ we have a seller wall of, for example 1000 BTC as a limited order. Beyond this point there is only 1 dollar in every price quote from the orderbook ( 1$ - 501; 1$ - 502 and so on)

- From 500$ to 490$ we only have 1$ in every price quote, so, with a little volume of 10 dollars, we are cappable of moving the price down to 490.

- In the other hand,  if we want to move the price beyond 501$ we have to buy first that 1000BTC buyer wall and from this point every dollar we spent in excess will rise the price 1 dollar.

So, attending to the volume indicator you are showing...

If we buy 75% of the buyer wall at 501 (750BTC - 375.750$) the price still stand in 500$. But if we sell now 10 dollars, the price will drop down to 490$.... The price candle/line will be red... but the volumen bar in the web will look red too and thats not correct because we had more buyer volume (750BTC - 375.750$ ) compared to the seller volume (10$) and in this case volume bar have to be green in spite of the price.

You always put the volume bars in the same color as the price candle/line of that time frame and thats not correct.

Is more accurate to put a homogeneous color or make it more accurate depending of the type of the volume of that timeframe because could be misunderstood.

We now can think if we only watch de volume bar that a panic sell is happening or vice versa when is not.

I'm not sure if I explained myself correctly and make the example as clear as I want to explain what is happening with the indicator.
English is not my native language (as you already get noticed)... if you need me to be more accurate of what I'm talking about, please tell me, I can make it with chart paintings too.

I tried stacked ask/bid volume when VWAP supported. but it had some issue and I didn't apply it.
The horizontall red/green candlestick cannot work well with horizontal red/green stacked bar.
In RGB monitor, Red bar and Green bar has 1/3 pixel offset, the stacked bar is not straight. so it have to add a border or change the color.
The volume looks too colorful.

What do each of the 4 numbers next to the "OFFSET" legend in the chart mean? I couldn't find any post on that. I sort of figured only one of them but please confirm.
There are
1. Time Offset
2. Cursor / Current Price - 1
3. Current Price / Cursor - 1
4. Cursor - Current Price

Time Offset Unit:
m = minute
h = hour
d = day

Any chance you could add drkbtc @poloniex to the "hidden" currency pairs (as in: currency pairs that are not in the menu, but can be accessed by URL)?
Poloinex DRK/BTC is added. https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/poloniex/drkbtc

just saying: I'm not sure if "hidden" currency pairs currently exists.
checkout https://bitcoinwisdom.com/
afaik this page contains list of all implemented currencies (polo drk missing tho)

P.S. just noticed a bug on that page - volume for many altcoins @ mintapl shows as 0 (for example XC, NAUT and others)
The volume unit is BTC. If the volume shows 0, it means the volume is less than 1 BTC.

Seems to be a bug: bent line.

When the exchange has no trades in some interval, Bitcoinwisdom just omits that interval from the plot, so the horizontal scale is no longer linear.  Then straight lines become stariscases.

To better see the effect, select some low-volume exchange and 1 minute intervals, then draw some slanted straight lines.
The empty candlestick is not omitted now. To compatible with comparison feature in future and it makes timeline and lines more smooth.

Historical mtgox data on the weekly time scale is broken. Probably a bug, no?
Thank you for reporting the issue. The bug is fixed.

Hi, Just want to know if you are planning to add Minerals to your charts. Thanks!
The Minerals volume is too low. I'm afraid it won't be added either.

Yet another suggestion: in the 1h to 12h charts, especially with compressed (2-pixel) bars, the time scale at bottom skips several days, even a whole month, between tic marks.   The label at the bottom end of the cursor shows only the hour, and one has then to guess the day of the month by eyeball.  If the time tic interval is 30 days, that is nearly impossible.

Should that cursor label perhaps display the day and the hour, in those cases?
I've tried several date format. but all of them cannot work well. unless changing the color or background of the label.
Also the date is displayed in left-top corner, so it won't be changed currently.

Hello,

Reddcoin on MintPal, Poloniex and Cryptsy has seen a very large volume increase in the last month.  In fact it is currently the most traded crypto on Cryptsy.  Do you have any plans to add it to bitcoinwisdom?

Thanks!

+1

Please integrate Cryptsy's Reddcoin market!!!
Because Cryptsy API is not working well. We are not going to add more Cryptsy pairs.

Hi,

Could you please contact me about adding the trading pair BTC/UNO to your website?

Thanks!
UNO is too small to be added. I'm afraid it won't be supported currently.

Hi there,

for some days now the OHLC view shows weird colord candles like so:

I checked with several browsers, so it doesn't seem to be a problem on my end.
I actually liked the color change.

The red/green coloring is traditionally based on the daily open/close prices, which are important for stock traders since there is a long time gap (16 h or more) between successive candles.  The close price gives the best estimate for the price during that gap, and the opening price reflects all the news that may have come out during the gap.

However, open/close are largely irrelevant for shorter or longer time intervals, of for markets (like bitcoin exchanges) that operate 24/7.   In these situations, open and close prices are not particularly special, they are the prices of two random trades that happened to occur at particular moments.  Individual trades are much less significant than the weighted mean of all trades in the interval.  With bitcoin, it often happens that the mean price is steadily falling, but many of the candles are green; or vice-versa.

A more significant use of red/green coloring could be based on the weighted mean slope during the interval, found by lienar regression of the trade prices in that range, of from the diference of the mean prices in the two adjacent intervals.   But I think that is superfluous: looking at the all-blue plot, it is obvious whether the price is rising, falling, or wandering about.
The color scheme for OHLC is changed. also the horizontal line is longer than before.
For CandleStick chart, it is rarely using single style. but for Bar chart, use a single color is quite often.

@ bitcoinwisdom

I noticed that you show Houbi BTC/CNY rates in USD.
Question, how often do you update the live exchange rate between USD and CNY?

I have a realtime conversion set up for charts in Tradingview and I noticed that your BTC/CNY in USD rate is usually off the actual rate. I assume you only update the USD/CNY rate daily?
It refreshes every hour. the data is from Yahoo USD/CNY.
Currently the rate is 6.1875 and Yahoo is 6.1878, so it should be work correctly.
but the rate is not refreshed in dynamic. If the page is not refreshed for several days, it would be inaccurate.

You need to update to API v1.1 for all Bittrex price tickers https://www.bittrex.com/Home/Api
They deprecated v1 today so all tickers are frozen.
Thank you. The API has been updated.

Hello,
Just love BitcoinWisdom and all this great information in one single place.
Had some problems though drawing trend lines. They seem to transpose vertically when crossing big candles.
Cheers

I cannot reproduce the issue. Is there any screenshot?

Why not see LakeBTC appear on it?
LakeBTC is full of fake trades, at least 90% of whole volume. for every minutes, it contain more than 3 BTC fake volume.

Hey, I like your app. I like that it has Bollinger bands. And that it's pretty damn responsive. Way faster than Crypttrader. Also, they don't have parameters you can set for the indicators. Only downside is that you don't have bittrex as an exchange, and you are missing a few coins that I care about. Are you going to extend this to some more markets?
Bitrrex is listed in homepage. but only a few altcoins are supported. To keep site fast, the altcoin needs enough volume to be added.
