61  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: September 22, 2013, 05:52:21 PM
There's no way a bank charges 5% conversion fee for a corporate account.

Let me start that I am in no way affiliated with MtGox other then being a customer and an irate one at that
considering that my US international wire is at 38 days or 26 business days and still have not received it.

joesmoe2012:You make the strong statement quoted above yet do not back it with anything. Me saying this isn't personal, merely me being rational.
62  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: September 22, 2013, 05:29:33 PM
I haven't seen a check since the 80ies, except one.  Got one in return from some USSAnian scammer company.  I was told by my bank I had to travel to USSA to cash it in.  Would you be happy if you got a check which you had to travel to Japan to cash in?  Probably cheaper to take the 5% option.
Sturle, you  keep mentioning this 5% emergency withdrawal option, but not a single person on this site has been able to provide any evidence for it. Further, if such an option existed, it would currently be quite profitable as the spread between other sites and Mtgox is over 5%.
See previous pages of this thread for first hand reports of emergency withdrawals.

I have. The only person I have seen mentioning it really is you. Show people how to get one of these supposed emergency withdrawals or stop spreading this FUD.
I was offered the 5% emergency withdrawal option.

You merely have to ask for it, if it isn't offered to you.
I asked and was told that such an option does not exist.
I don't know if your trying to spread FUD(apologies if you are being sincere)
but here is the email I received from MtGox, see #4:

James Support, Sep 16 15:01 (JST):
Hello,
Sorry for the delay and thank you for the email.
1.We are processing the withdrawals manually. We are still working with our bank to have the issues sorted and we expect to have this sorted out soon. Processing manually it involves lot of man power and time and we are doing our best to do this and your withdrawal should be processed soon
2. Please be advised we do not hold funds of any customer, As updated in the announcement we have now formed relationships with several new banking partners both in Japan and around the world, and we are still in the process of finalizing even more. This means that we will have increased stability and ability to transmit withdrawals going forward.
3. We are working hard to increase the transaction speed and we still have a backlog of withdrawals to be cleared and we are in the process of forming relationships with new partners, banks, and taking other steps to clear the backlog.
4.Bank has provided an option for speed processing so if you urgently need money within 7 business days we can sent the fund that you requested manually. This method is really limited and out of negotiated price contract with the bank, the bank fee is high 5% because we have to convert JPY into an other currency (That we cannot choose, the currency depends on your country and only one currency is possible by country) then it takes 5 business days to get the money.
Please let us know if you have any other clarifications regarding this.
Best regards,
Mt.Gox Team

2. Even if you are okay with the above point, and just want to lock in shares early, please realize that the Pre-IPVO round is limited to 500,000 shares and may sell out also.

6. The Pre-IPVO BitFunder shares will not be delivered until September 23, 2013 - three days after the IPVO round begins.

Will Pre-IPVO investors have confirmation of successful buys before the IPVO rounds begins,
so if in the event our Pre-IPVO's bids are unsuccessful(do to selling out) we can still buy the shares we want in the IPVO?
And as well if our Pre-IPVO bids are unsuccessful are we then left with XBONDS with which we will have to either hold or sell on the market?

Thanks!

Yes Please!

Burnin,

You said in regards to air cooled over-clocking:
"Slightly different air cooling setup therefore different temperatures with air cooling. (fan placement)"
-Would this work with stacked boards or is the fan placement maybe unconventional just to get that umph?

You said:
"slightly increased error rate compared to what i normally call "stable" but close enough."
- What does that mean, maybe the numbers or the log/report from cgminer would clear this up?

-What is your personal opinion or gut feeling on longterm air cooled over-clocking at
 450 - 57, 52, 1.34V, 94W?

*I want to thank you for all your efforts, professionalism, and forthcomingness with info, updates, and questions!*
67  Other / Meta / Re: Can bitcointalk.org get 2 factor authentication? on: July 07, 2013, 07:58:42 AM
Please enable 2 factor authentication?

Better yet have the option for a user to enable.
If someone does not have it enabled
their username shows it is not enabled
maybe with a warning below their username or
their username is a different color(maybe yellow for caution).

This feature would add credibility not only to individuals
but to the BTC community as a whole!

Hey, I ordered in the first batch, but only did 10, then the board designs started to come out as 16 and 64, anyone from batch one care to sell me at least 6 chips? pm me please..  I can also buy more if you have extras.. cheers!

You could use Burnin's boards:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179769.0
his board design is capable of running on either 10 or 20 chips.

FYI: I have no affiliation with Burnin but I do plan to purchase boards from him for myself.

Hi LogicalUnit,

Great post!

While I think your choice of mining rig wasn't the best,
it's still fun to read and watch your journey.

If you could maybe give us an update weekly?

Best of Luck to You!

We're getting to the point now with difficulty over 21m where only ASIC machines are viable at current BTC rates.

No one knows where BTC rates are going. A lot of people hope they will rise to great heights but there's no real evidence that this will be the case and they could just as easily fall to zero. I'm hoping for the former like everyone else.

It would be nice to hear from some of those who were in the game a few years ago when difficulty was a few hundred and pools didn't exist. I'm sure there must be some great stories of fortunes being made.

I too would love to hear some more personal stories of people's mining experiences, good or even bad?

Hello!

This might be in the thread but i don't have time to go through all 44 pages.
I have 50 chips in bach #1 and I wonder if it's possible to sell them. do to some circumstances I'm not able to mount the chips and mine later.

How do I do when I want to sell the chips?

thanks Cheesy

Hi fruitrunner,

Check out this reverse auction for Zefir batch chips:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242799.0

Starting price is .172 BTC per chip
which would double your initial investment.
As well it is backed with escrow(paid by ASICME.COM) done by John K
and they cover the shipping and handling fees.
FYI I have no affiliation with ASICME.COM

How do you insert server, port, username etc. if cgminer is running hidden?

Put server, port, username in your .bat file for it to work while hidden.

Hi Waa,

Thanks for posting!  Smiley
Very very helpful to me,
much appreciated.

Is there any way after hiding CGMiner to see
the command window without closing CGMiner
and restarting?

Best Regards

imho it will only, long scale, rise in value,
but if you want short term money i'd say it's risky.

Hi right back at you!

It's good to hear that you are supporting BTC by building a web store that accepts BTC.

Good Luck Sir!
