61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] STRAKS - A POW/Masternode Cryptocurrency focused on e-commerce utility on: July 28, 2019, 01:11:42 PM
Can someone tell me how much nodes have gone offline on STRAKS network after GIN platform decide to close their service?
At the current price of STAK there is no point of even lowest priced  VPS running node. Undecided

 Any recommendations regarding that topic?
62  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your advisable source of capital to use for trading. on: July 28, 2019, 06:46:47 AM
Trading with money on a loan is very risky move and could end badly for you so you could end up as a double looser.
But all that depends on how big the loan actually is and how wrong your sale or buy order end up to be.

You could also end up as a big winner but that kind of situations rarely happens twice in a row so i would call this kind of stuff pure gambling with borrowed money. Roll Eyes
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Better adoption rate for ETH on: July 27, 2019, 06:54:35 PM
What do you think will happen if ETH implement POS in it upcoming upgrade? I personally think there will be more adoption rate for ethereum because many would want the POS reward, what do you guys think?

Price will probably spike in short therm and after that there would be steady drops on weekly period.
Lots of coins that went to POS didn't end well. POW vs POS is only one factor that may drive price one way or another, there are many more factors that are more important then that.
64  Economy / Auctions / Re: Hard drive with 1000+ BTC, totally inaccessible. on: July 27, 2019, 06:45:19 PM
If that was my hard drive not sure that I would sell it for 1 BTC, technology is going further so what now is not easy to decrypt it may be in few years so i would say that this is not rationale choice. Shocked

On the other hand this may be only another attempt to scam people. Cry
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v14.7 (Windows/Linux) on: July 27, 2019, 04:25:21 PM
Hi, gays. I have 2 1080ti. is there a way to make them hash whit 50+ using only claymores miner.( without eth enlargement pill)?

Any reason why you don't want to use enlargement pill in the first place? even Linux mining distros have already included them on the platform with options to enable or disable them so why not use it if it's there? Cool
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LAUNCH] GINcoin | One-click masternodes LIVE on: July 27, 2019, 06:46:52 AM
They didn't stated what are their future plans if any, because if you are just shutting down business of hosting masternodes then there is no big deal because people will find anther service provider, but in their case they are also leaving their GIN coins as a currency on the open market and this coin now doesn't have any purpose whatsoever.

Did they mentioned something about using GIN coin for anything on their platform or any new project where this coins can be capitalized? Huh

67  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinexchange.io - Reviews on: July 26, 2019, 12:34:06 PM
51% attack at some Coin is different then beached exchange and has nothing to do with Coinexchange altogether.
I personally didn't have any problems with them and was trading all kinds of small volume coins that were not present anywhere else.

This coins that have wallet under maintenance could probably be because they are waiting for devs to help them with something or the wallets are making problems even after there was intervention.

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would you sell an altcoin right at the very bottom on: July 26, 2019, 06:41:45 AM
People do not want to wait and they are very likely to panic. This is obvious that even if market is falling, sooner or later it is going to recover, but no one wants to hear that, the only thing they want is profit right here and right now.

Most of the Coin projects are paying their devs and teams in the coins they develop but taking into account that they must gave them amount of coins in relations to ETH or BTC price you can make conclusion that situation like that will always make flood on the market especially with low priced coins where they must give enormous quantity, that puts regular customers (miners or average Joe exchange investor) in awkward position where their investment starts bleeding money fast and you are left with whole bunch of worthless coins for the moment.

If that same project doesn't have real purpose you can expect that after some time when adrenaline goes lower so are the bulls.
So that's second drop that makes Coins double dropped, that is usually the time after most coins goes to limbo and never recover from the basement price.

69  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinexchange.io - Reviews on: July 26, 2019, 06:05:44 AM

They admit they suffered 51% attack, CE is going bankrupt

I cannot read anywhere that information on their official page under news section.
Can you give us official link to that information or state the source that released that information?

70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Has the purposed of kyc been diverted? on: July 25, 2019, 07:51:21 PM
Regarding cryptocurrency, we cannot guarantee security. We better avoid services that ask for our data because it is very risky, except when we use a service that has been recognized by the government, at least they have been tested for security and have a good reputation from the users of their services.

KYC is exactly opposite of what the crypto stands for in the beginning.

If KYC becomes obligation then crypto is becoming similar to banking institution.
Exchange can lock your account because you are from country that for example USA has embargo on or other type of restrictions.

It happened already on some exchanges where people where KYC verified and because of their resident country their funds were frozen.

Regarding the safety of the document you upload to them i think we don't even need to doubt that you have no control what they will eventually do with that kind of information Maybe not now but in next 2 or 3 years to come...

71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 25, 2019, 07:37:08 PM

I believe ETH and everything will keep moving downward. Maybe the owners of real coins will freak out and trade their alts for BTC, then those who want to tame BTC will just short it without even needing to hold a single real BTC.
So in short... I'd expect more pain for ETH (and others).

With so many ICOs eventually slowing down... and they were the main black hole sucker of ETH, price also dropped significantly, also after BTC reduced transaction fees there was no need to buy so much ETH to send  back and forth your BTC across the exchanges. Without some mayor change I don't see any reason why would Ethereum drastically go up in price all of a sudden even with market cycle. So yeah I could agree with you that price will either be flat-lined or drop some more.

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ICON - Interchain Blockchain Network / Hyperconnect the World! on: July 25, 2019, 11:04:35 AM
Guys I do not post regularly but I agree I have invested heavily on Icon when It was 10 USD till it went down to 50 cents. I was really hoping that it will grow when the Bitcoin will go up. It seems other coins have started going up like Neo, ETC, EOS, OMG and many more but I have not seen any traction in this. I am just looking for good advise on future of ICON. Please do not advise leave the Blog or some thing like that I am looking for good points why I should continue investing in ICON although I would like to clear I do not have lot of choice at this point in time because my stakes are high in ICON

You have only one option and that is to hold your investment till the end or till something changes in few years.

I know exactly the feeling when something goes down 2 decimal places, but that is the good time to invest some more, just because it doesn't matter anymore. If something that was worth 1000$ now worth only 10$ why not invest another 10$ and double the profit, if it goes to hell altogether that last 10$ will not make any difference. Wink

https://www.coindesk.com/indian-panel-proposes-ban-and-jail-time-for-cryptocurrency-use

Well, looks like crypto-sphere is about to take another massive hit soon. the last bull run was stopped by China ban now I guess this bull run will be stopped by India

Not stopped just little slowed down...

Smart countries find ways to take piece of the cake others that lack initiative and knowledge usually just proclaim something illegal and lose that same piece of the cake.

It was the same story with alcohol, prostitution, gambling etc..

Progress cannot be stopped to the factor of stand still...
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hive OS - new Linux GPU mining platform on: July 24, 2019, 01:15:24 PM
how disable any gpu

please add disable butoon any card.

Same as in any miner on windows platform you put in command line only devices that you want to start mining with.
So there is no disable but you can define which devices will start, if you don't specify devices then miner starts with all available device it finds.

ccminer has switch to select devices and starts from 0 and up  -d0,1,4,5,7 other miners also have some kind of switches for the same thing
76  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: July 23, 2019, 11:09:25 AM
It seems that only Cryptopia users will lose money on this one all other companies and service providers along side of stake holders will probably have their piece of cake after the funeral.

Still don't understand how can Cryptopia user can provide any proof of ETH coins for the claim.
Especially If i had some coins and then trade them for ETH on their platform.

That is just ridiculous, they have database with complete amount of money lost, they have proven that with their new token given to people that were robbed of ETH, they also have info regarding the owners so why would anyone need to proof anything beside that?

All in all it seems as well planned exit scam that will be major template for all other similar jobs in NZ if authorities don't make fine example of this people.

Can someone please tell me is it possible to remove heatsink from the hashing board on x10.
Is it on the chips with some kind of thermal glue or something else?

78  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: July 02, 2019, 11:30:43 AM
Main question is to determine exact number of stolen coins.
After that they could offer company(brand) to someone who could actually repay coins and continue the business.

There is no sense using the same brand ever again. They will have eternity to take before gaining the trust that was already lost. Remember cryptopia tried to recover and opened the trading again after the hacking incident, but then it simply ended a failure. Better let go of the name and start fresh.

I do not agree at all, brand is always worth something, there is no bad commercial.

If someone takes control over the company/brand, then all users would be compensated for their lose - so WIN -WIN situation.

80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Octominer B8PLUS 8 PCIe Slot Mining Board (Motherboard, integrated CPU) on: June 27, 2019, 07:53:03 AM
I have a rig with one of these and the cpu fan is hissing like it's about to die. Does anyone know how to replace it? Or should I just put another fan on top when it dies?
Anyone has any suggestions or experience. I just don't want to take the rig down without a plan before it is dead.

I would try with a different fan, you could always try to find exact one on ebay or from Octominer if they can/want to sell you spare part.
