Blaze harder! We're almost there!
Unless the difficulty adjustment in 360 blocks is miniscule we're going to get hammered for blazing so hard as it is! Probably. I had planned for difficulty to settle around 2 this time tomorrow. We'll see if that pans out Wouldn't .420 have been a better target? We're at .39 I was close I have to say thanks to you for this. I was really starting to take this whole crypto thing WAY to seriously. Not to say that crypto's aren't serious, because they are and I firmly believe that they are the future of money. I was just taking the whole business of trying to make them a bit too seriously. This is the first forked coin that I can honestly say I didn't hesitate for a minute to pull my miners off of mining something to try and make some profit on to put on something that I wanted to make just because it's fucking awesome. Does this mean that my hashes are not on something else, and possibly making it easier for anyone else to mine those? Yep. Do I give half a shit? Not at all. I'll have some WeedCoin and even if it's only good for nothing else than to have a couple of good laughs with with my friends, that's worth something to me. Fucking righteous job Hazard. Nicely done!

I wish the blockchain would finish downloading already. It's almost time to spark up some solo action.

Lawl... this is epic. I'm about to mine the shit out of this for the next 2 days, AND I don't care if it ends up profitable or not. What self-respecting stoner and crypto miner would NOT want to own a few thousand of these?!
Myself? I think crappy coins like this are making Bitcoin look bad. I honestly think these obvious joke-coins are no threat to anything. I think the ones who are actually 'serious' attempts are far more detrimental to the crypto coin movement. I second that. I think coins like this one are more like novelty items than anything. Kind of like collectible coins that are aimed more towards hobbyists. It just so happens this is the first one I care about. Word. And my sandwich is delicious.

Hells yeah! Now when I'm hashing, I can be hashing! Oh wait man...or is that the other way around? No, wait...maybe... Shit man! Yeah! Hey, I'm going to get a sandwich.

Wow, I get to pay 100% of my power & internet bills, do 100% of all the administration of the hardware I paid 100% for, and I get to have 50% of the coins I mine? I think this coin should be renamed to GOVcoin. Who else would tell you that being allowed to keep half of what you produce is 'generous'?
Please read the FAQ. Anyway, the explanation is here is that we are trying to have a balanced incentive for both miners and developers. Miners provide the operations, developers provide the growth opportunities. The weakness of so many coins is that there is so very little incentive for anyone to improve a coin after it has been released. Just look for example at a relatively successful coin (Litecoin), how well is it supported by developers? The balance here is that miners will hoard the coin because they trust that the developers will over time add value to the coin. Similarly, if developers believe that they can be successful in building value, then they will also hoard the coin. Yes, it is different from what folks may be used to, but most coins other than BTC and LTC will trend toward zero without sustained developer effort that differentiates the coin from other coins. Flipping parameters like confirmation rate, #of coins per block are irrelevant to survival of a coin. I appreciate the response and I did read the FAQ. I'm just not down with giving you 50% of my meager hashing power for free. Thanks though.

I won't trade on a regulated exchange.
All the tools necessary to operate outside of any government's reach are already out there.
This is why crypto's are the future.

I see not too many people understand what TOR is, who created it, why it was created, and how it can be used.
Privacy on the internet requires a bit of effort, but it is achievable. Any crypto currency can be completely anonymous if you understand how to conduct the transactions securely.

This could be the start of the most epic backfire ever. I agree that the US Govt just did crypto's a HUGE service today by validating to the world that Bitcoin IS money. I think the most simple solution is to give the US govt what it just asked for; lets all stop using their money, use ours only and we'll see where that gets them. What a bunch of incompetent boobs.

Made you click, didn't it?
I figure I've been on the forum just long enough to not be restricted to the newbs area, it MUST be time for me to cut and paste some code and randomly change a few parameters and boldly announce my new coin to the world, right?
I know, haters going to hate and all. I'm just amused by the flurry of alt coins and the reactions. People, it's the free market at work. Not everyone has a groundbreaking idea or some innovation to bring to market. Some will just copy and paste. If you don't want to use a coin, don't want to support a coin, don't want to mine a coin, don't. If you can't make that decision for yourself and feel the need to jump on EVERY bandwagon just to feel like you aren't going to miss out on the next big thing, you're exactly the kind of 'investor' those copy and paste clones are looking for. And if you're that kind of 'investor', perhaps the Pump'n'Dump is exactly the coin you want it to be.

Check out TacoTime's excellent thread here --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=117221.0I'd ditch GUIminer and stick with CGMiner. As for what the issue is that's causing your GPU not to show up, it could be a dozen different things. Trust me, I know; I just started mining a couple of weeks ago and had a LOT of reading and tinkering to do to come up to speed. 1st things first though... does your PC have any on board video? Like Intel 2K/3K/4K graphics or anything like that?
