61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Say Bob sends Alice on: May 20, 2013, 03:39:22 PM
about 200 transactions, each transaction has no tx and is signed by the last transaction, will Alice have to wait for a long period to receive the funds? Can Alice speed it up?
Huh
I believe he meant "no transfer fee".
62  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I mining wrong or something? on: May 20, 2013, 06:56:23 AM
I think you might have got the wrong expectation since you were expecting bitcoin mining to generate more than USD $0.32 in 24 hours. Long story short, your GPU is nothing compared to the ASICs that are flooding the market these days.
63  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] 1 BTC for PayPal (Mt. Gox Spot Price) on: May 16, 2013, 06:16:17 AM
I've just sent you a PM. Let me know if you're interested.
64  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Litecoin? on: May 16, 2013, 05:57:02 AM
Hope this helps: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Litecoin#Differences_from_Bitcoin

Basically bitcoin uses SHA256 while litecoin runs on scrypt.

And nope, both also runs on GPU. It's just that bitcoin mining has evolved from CPU > GPU > FPGA > ASIC while litecoin is still stuck at the second level (GPU).

I just had a PM sent over to you.
66  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking to Buy 1.5 BTC via PP on: May 16, 2013, 03:17:15 AM
the right place for that : http://bitbitcoins.com
I looked through your link but noticed that there's no rating system implemented. Is there a plan to do so in the near future?
67  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyroll's 10 BTC giveaway is a scam, he sent me and others a phishing link on: May 14, 2013, 06:59:52 AM
I also got the PM. The funny thing is that my only contribution to the giveaway thread was to ask "What happens if I choose an already chosen number?" so I had no chance to win at all.

Now, after reading this thread and learning about "my account was hacked", I PM'd anyroll showing interest and waited for his reply. Guess what, as of 06:34 UTC he's still scamming people:

Can we have the mod to disable his account, at least for now? The fact that he's still replying the scam PM is proof enough that the issue has yet to be fully resolved.

Guys, I'm new to btc-e.com so I'm seeking for advice here. I did click the link but I didn't enter any information since I had another tab opened which was logged into btc-e.com. This was how I knew that the link points to a phishing site.

Anyway, I checked my mailbox & saw a "successful authorization" from btc-e.com. Is this email something to be expected if you're logged into from another device?

Change your passwords
Aye aye sir!

Probably not change your password just in case
Assumes you need to user activate it yourself
Since I just made a btc-e account when I thought this was legit was expecting a mail but should leave it to another user to know best
Just writing quickly in case anyroll just did that just now and you need to be fast to change your pass before some bit is sent
Thanks for the fast response. My btc-e account is totally empty but it still feels uncomfortable to receive the email without much clue.

Guess changing password is the first & best step at this point in time then.

Thanks again!

Aww... I gotta admit that he had me there even though I didn't log into the phishing link he provided in his PM. Sad

Oh well, at least he brighten up 2 minutes of my life. Tongue

What's your total time logged in? I think it might be <4 hours.
73  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: help 0.02 bitcoin sent?? on: May 11, 2013, 02:12:54 PM
I've been reading that Yacoin is the culprit. Have the Wallet checked ASAP.
74  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: USB Powered Miner >300MH/s on: May 11, 2013, 02:07:06 PM
I think this is a great idea to introduce others to bitcoin.
There are a lot of ways to introduce bitcoin mining to others. Spending 2 BTC for one is kinda overpriced.
75  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Buying BTC with PP on: May 09, 2013, 03:23:03 AM
Hello I would like to purchase BTC with PP, first amount first, registered 2011 and a humble gentlemen that has brought using PP previously.

Everyone be careful with this.  You could send him the BTC and then he would reverse the Paypal transaction, leaving you with nothing.   Undecided
Hmm... correct me if I'm wrong but if he were to send the PayPal fund over as gift, there's no way to dispute the transaction in PayPal.
76  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the BFL ASIC miners run off a laptop since they are powered by USB? on: May 09, 2013, 02:57:07 AM
The answer is yes since all the mining task has been effectively off-loaded to the ASIC.
77  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why isn't my total time logged in increasing? on: May 09, 2013, 02:55:36 AM
You need to be actively reading / replying. If you just open the website & leave it there, the time will stop ticking.
78  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox down? on: May 09, 2013, 02:49:07 AM
Same here. Any news if it's an unscheduled outage or it's another round of DDoS again?
79  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: YaCoin - quick money or real interest on: May 08, 2013, 01:49:54 PM
Color me curious but is Yacoin the same as Yakcoin? First time I heard of this cryptocurrency so I'm not really sure if they're the identical to each another.

I refer to this one

Thanks for the helpful link. Appreciate it very much.
80  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help with 7950 Mining Rig ($2k to spend) on: May 08, 2013, 01:36:21 PM
If you're planning to build a rig for bitcoin mining, I'm afraid that you're a little too late to the party. GPU mining is not going to be profitable due to all the FPGAs & ASICs that are hogging the hashrates.

I would strongly recommend that you mine litecoin instead. Apart from multiple 7950s & a 1200W PSU, make sure you get the cheapest processor & HDD since they don't play any role in determining the performance of your mining.
