Let the dev work. Marketcap is ridiculously low, now it's the best opportunity to invest. It will be easy 5-10x. In the meantime let's spread the word about VOT.
Have you already hired new devs to join votecoin team?
Approx. how many coins in circulation? trying to figure out the exact current market cap. Thanks 10M from the ICO + nearly 5M from mining

I use oficial Vots wallet, windows with no GUI I check my balance C:\Wallets\VoteCoin>vot totals { "transparent": "16987.00", "private": "0.00", "total": "16987.00" } After that I sent 5 vots to my friend C:\Wallets\VoteCoin>votecoin-cli sendtoaddress t1MF3JPUsniGfhjHV8jJHexAGb6oki4acku 5 062127ef4995166098cfc7e46a2a13a73cec9a15c5b90f27aeb418df0eed596e And then I checked my balance one more time C:\Wallets\VoteCoin>vot totals { "transparent": "14487.00", "private": "0.00", "total": "14487.00" } Where 2500 vot's gone? Fee 2494.99999774? Is that a joke? http://explorer.votecoin.site/tx/062127ef4995166098cfc7e46a2a13a73cec9a15c5b90f27aeb418df0eed596eI think you will find you have an address t1VPdbUDDjCKnquu5iffbxaUj9ZYWaKS3wD in your wallet with the CHANGE in to that value Bitcoin derived transfer USED to return change to the address the payment came from but nowadays they tend to return another address in your wallet It basically broke up a single 2500 UTX into 5 + change

Haha - good luck with that mate ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Bonus VOT coins were sent to all users who requested to receive VOT. Some users didn't contact us with their wallet address yet, and some prefer to wait for a more reasonable exchange. So we are still holding around 16% of the premined coins. Those will be sent out as soon as we are instructed to do so.
Hi dev, so unsold funds is distributed only between ICO participants? Miners not involved? Yes, miners not involved. But ICO participants have +600% unsold VOT bonuses ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) Its a damn unfair if so, miners also spend their time and electricity for mining of that coin, why not to give some reward for that dont understand??? I believe it would be better if unsold funds would be burned. I am also a miner, and i did not participate in the ICO - yet i think the 600% bonus should go the the ICO investors as that is what was promised in the white paper. You wouldn't be quite so happy with it otherwise if you were an investor and the chance of a bonus was part of your investment strategy.

I don't see any trading engine or even an outline, I hope you are not using scala for the trading engine, that should be written in C or C++ to be anything considered commercial grade.
You have no idea what you are on about if you think you NEED C++ for an exchange trading engine A good Java/Scala programmer can produce something 10 faster than a poor C++ solution At BEST you can expect a C++ solution to be 30% faster than a Java design from the same person (that is only because you have more influence on pipelining in C++), only the Java version can be developed 2-5x faster Any highly optimal design will be SEVERAL ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE faster than SQL using modern techniques But you are right in that using integer values can be significantly faster than float/double (which also have serious precision problems) and far far more efficient than BigDecimal But its easy for us to heckle from the sidelines - well done on producing something ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Thanks for answering the question already answered. My next question which i have already asked and still no answer: ".....I dont understand though, how do you know you own that .... nobody has answered me here on this. Normally with other wallets u get your own .DAT file...." How do you solely own the address which you generate, this is what i dont understand. I understand i generated the addy and then i mine to itm, but how do i retain it on another clean windows should my computer crash. If i change computers then how do i save my wallet.address is what i am asking. I hops this makes more sense.
You EXPORT THE WALLET using the command you can see with the cli -help command (RTFM) You can then import the PRIVATE key into the windows wallet using either the command line or the unofficial java swing gui

Not any more - it died yesterday and it seems the pool isn't accepting hash for any Scrypt based coins

Why did development stall on this - its looks good so far, even if it is not mature
Are there obvious good contenders that are also open source ?

hello I'm mining votecoin on http://votecoinmine.site, I want to mine on another computer, but would like to keep my existing wallet how can I use the same wallet on new pc, I don't want to start over , I know that I can transfer votecoins to new wallet, but I would prefer to import my existing wallet to new pc thanks in advance You can export your private key on wallet 1 and import on wallet 2 - you can then access the coins on both wallets You will have to read the command line docs or use one of the existing unofficial wallets to do that. I DON'T have the time to help you do that but it works - i have done a few times

Please tell me if I take part in the distribution?
You need to either mine for coins or contribute directly here https://www.votecoin.site/PS I am not a founder or a developer so do not benefit directly from the contribution

Heard that some pools connects the VoteCoin mining port to the Zcash mining server, taking extra coins made from the difference of two coin's profitibility. Could it be true?
The is no CURRENT VoteCoin profitability - it has zero CURRENT tangible value - you can, however, pick a number from the air

I will try this on Windows 7 x64. When will you release GUI wallet for x64?
The text-mode wallet runs in 64bit windows too. GUI wallet for Windows will be developed and released only after our last milestone is reached. If we never reach it, we will try to find other funding sources, but no guarantees. "only after .. " Is that the 100 BTC (Linux) or 200 BTC (Windows/MAC) milestone By that i mean .. have you progressed towards the goal or are you waiting for funding before initiating the next phase .. The wallet is not my concern .. the voting mechanism/functionality is .. Does that start at 100 BTC ? Has that started already ?

----- Noob Alert ----- Preface: I'm new to mining, have never used anything other than NiceHash which is just meh Question: I have a CPU which is just lying around with free electricity so I thought I'll give VoteCoin a try - the idea looks interesting ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I've downloaded the wallet, unzipped it, generated wallet address and so on. Also kept running votecoind in the background. Now my question is Can I even mine with a CPU? How do I actually start mining? Do I need to download any other miner software and point it to some pool? Thanks in advance. Practically, no! 2-7 sol is often quoted (votecoind can mine but ..)- the network hash is currently > 700 K - you might get 1 coin every now and again

@votecoin.site - any more information on how the voting stuff might work, in addition to the stuff in your white paper I have "skin in the game" so it is interesting to see what happens and maybe even to contribute something Specifically, how will you : - Model a vote subject/candidates in the block chain
- Do you have voter allocations or can anyone vote for anything
- What happens if you vote in excess of your allocation - does the size of your wallet decide everything ?
- How are voting subjects created/maintained - a central repository, an address
- How do you define a "fake" vote - for that you need to define a "legitimate" vote
- How will you track non transparent votes to ensure they are legitimate
- How will you implement proxy/delegated voting
- Interesting idea on combining voting with crowd funding - care to elucidate ?
Also, is there any room for community input or discussion on this ? And feel free to be technical - i have plenty more questions
